《HER LOVE • davina claire》13 | THE HARVEST
Advertisement
It is the next morning and currently, I am laying down on a couch in the living room with Rebekah, who is flipping through a magazine sitting up on the couch, waiting for Nik to return. And, no, I'm still not talking to him, last night was an exception. However, I decided I'll talk to him when absolutely nessicary. Like life or death situation. Something which is highly possible in this city.
Speaking of the devil, he went to go and pick up Sophie Deveraux. Aparently that witch, Agnes, didn't heed my warning and had the nerve to kidnap Hayley. Luckily she is fine, her wolf powers combined with the baby's blood healed her in no time. I had never been so thankful before, Elijah would have had a fit.
Speaking of my dark haired brother, I'm a little jealous of him right now. He gets to talk to Davina while I have to be here. I'd much rather trade places.
She has been popping into my ever since I left that church, even dreamt about her. And this morning Nik and Bekah has had to call me out of my thoughts several times. Stupid and confusing feelings, very nice feelings, but stupid and confusing.
I hear my twin brother speed through the front door and second later they are in the living room, where we are waiting for them, and he deposits Sophie onto the couch opposite me harshly. I smirked at his harsh manner before sitting up.
"We had a deal! You protect my unborn child, I dismantle Marcel's army. And whilst I've been busy fulfilling my part of the bargain, you allowed Hayley to be attacked and almost killed by a gaggle of lunatic witches." He spits out angrily and I studied Sophie to see if her response is a lie.
"I had nothing to do with it, I swear. Hayley and I are linked, remember? She dies, I die. Besides I just got of your sisters hit list, do you think I'm crazy enough to get myself back on it willingly?" She yells out frantically, trying to convince us that she is innocent and as far as I can tell - she not lying. Yet.
"She does have a point." I say to them and the witch gave me a thankful look to witch I only rolled my eyes.
"Then who were they?" Bekah asks confused and I raised my eyebrows - indicating that I'd like an answer as well.
"They are a faction of extremists. Sabine stupidly told them about some vision she had about the baby." Sophie says with a sigh. Vision, huh? I did not know witches can have those.

"What kind of vision?" Nik asks suspiciously and I don't blame him. I, myself have a hard time believing it and I've seen some crazy stuff that witches can do during my escapades with Kol. We used to hang out with witches and we studied every form of witchcraft known to man. I knew how much he missed being a witch. Although here in New Orleans he always hung out with the witches on his own. It hurt me, because it was our thing, but eventually I got over it. Then one day out of the blue Nik dagger him and to this day I never found out what he was up to. Nik refused to tell me and now I guess I'll never know.
"She has them all the time. They are totally open to interpretation. I'm guessing she's wrong on this one." The witch tells us, obviously wary and a little nervous. What could be so bad?
"Well, how, may I ask, was this particular vision interpreted?" Nik asks her with a with a grin.
"Yes, do tell Sophie. I'm curious." I added on while I crossed my arms
over my chest.
"...Pretty much that your baby would bring death to all witches." She says slowly and I grinned widely. I liked hanging out with witches when Kol was alive, now I don't have a reason to - it only brought back memories that caused me pain.
"I grow fonder of this child by the second." Me and Nik exclaim in unison.
"Sophie, look- I promised Elijah that I would protect the Mikaelson miracle-baby whilst he tries to win your witch Davina's loyalty. Why don't you tell me just how extreme this faction is?" Bekah says and I smile at the thought of Davina.
"Elijah's talking to Davina?" Sophie asks, her tone and her expression shocked.
"Why?" I ask a little more harshly than I intended but I feel a sudden protectiveness over Davina and I don't like the interested tone that Sophie has.
"Yeah. As we speak, I imagine." Bekah asks her and Sohpie glances at me in curiousity and I glared at her, not looking liking being watched.
"I'm guessing she'll have plenty to say about that crowd." Sohpie tells us carefully.
"Do tell." Nik orders, intrugued.
"I... wasn't always an advocate for the witches. My sister was devoted, like our parents, and our upbringing was very strict, which drove me nuts. The minute I turned twenty-one, I left the Quarter to travel... and play. But, I wanted to be a chef, so I came back to Rousseau's. The day I came back my sister told me that the elders will forward with the harvest." The dark haired female tells us.

"What the bloody hell is a Harvest?" Beks asks confused and so am I. I've never heard of it. Not even while I was here.
"It's a ritual our coven does every three centuries so that the bond to our ancestral magic is restored. We appease our ancestors, they keep our ancestral power flowing." Sophie answers us.
"And why haven't I heard of this?" Nik asks and I facepalmed. How dumb is this boy?
"Because witches keeps secret and they don't like vampires. Our siblings even less because they're originals. Us the least because we're the Original Hybrids." I informed him in a 'duh' tone.
"Because a Harvest always seemed like a myth. A story, passed on through generations like Noah's ark, or the Buddha walking on water. The kind some people take literally, and some people don't. They had the girls of our community preparing for months. Four would be chosen for the Harvest. They said that it was an honor, that they were special. I thought it was a myth." Sophie answers and my protectiveness is spiked. She'd better not mean Davina.
"Was it?" Rebekah asks her. I look over to see her look guilty, but before she can say anything, Nik's cell phone rings.
"Hey Bekah. Ten bucks says it's Marcel." I say to her and she chuckles as Nik glares at us as he picks up his phone and I listen in.
"Marcel. Bit early in the day for you, isn't it?" He greets and I smirk over at Bekah. She speeds off and comes back with a ten dollar bill in her hands. I took it and gave her a smirk.
"I know, I make this look easy, but I still have an empire to run." Marcel says from the other side and I roll my eyes at his cockiness.
"Oi, Marcel! Dail it down a notch would you?" I give my imput and I hear him chuckle.
"Good Morning to you too, Lex." He responds in a playful voice.
"Back to conversation. Rather you than me. All that responsibility seems like such a bore." Nik says smiling fakely and I snorted loudly.
"Well, this might spice things up- I just heard about a bunch of dead witches out in the Bayou. The kinda damage a werewolf might do, only there was no full moon. I have an informant out there I need to meet, and I would love for you to go with me." He says to Nik and immediately my guard is up. Nik glances at me and I nod recieving the message. Hayley.
"Dead witches in the Bayou. Sounds like less of a problem, and more like a cause for celebration." Nik tells him and I nod, this earned me a glared from Sophie.
"Well, something killed them. And may still be out there. And with your blood the only cure for a werewolf bite, I would love for you to accompany me." Marcel suggests.
"Can I join?" I ask them, cause I'm sure Nik would tell them to wait for him to continue with story and I don't plan on sitting in a room doing nothing.
"Sure." Marcel says and I grinned.
"Oh, why not? Haven't been to the Bayou in ages. I'm on my way." Nik tells him.
"Peace out, brother." He tells Nik. "And sister." He adds on and I chuckle as he hangs up.
"You can't go out there now. I need to gather the witches' remains and consecrate them. If I don't get to them before sundown, we'll lose the link to their magic." Sophie pipes up in concern and my anger flares. I noticed Hayley enter the room but I ignored her as I glared harshly at the witch.
"Those witches tried to kill Hayley. I'd prefer for Marcel's informant not to find anything that would lead him back to us, to her, or to... you know..." He says and points at Hayley's stomach. "That." He finishes and I facepalmed.
"You are all class." Hayley says somethig for the first time and rolls her eyes and I chuckle.
"It's a baby. Your baby, infact. I sure hope you learned your lesson and will now keep your penis in your pants or at least buy some condoms. If you don't know how to use it you can always look it up. Youtube has tutorials for practically everything." I tell him in the most innocent voice I can manage while Bekah, Hayley and Sophie dies of laughter behind me. I know I'm ignoring him but I couldn't resist.
I glanced at my twin, only to see that he is red faced with steam practically coming out his ears from both embarrassment and anger. He takes a deep breath and calms himself while the trio of women behind me still laugh at his expense.
"Stay put. And save the rest of your story 'til we return." He says pointing to Sophie. I called it. He turns to me and I nodded at him as I stood up before we sped of to the Compound.
