《Changing The Course of Fate》Chapter 87 - Rampage (4)

Ciaran and Gideon both stared at the young master who was also in awe with the wind magic that was manifesting in his body.

"What's this..." Pier asked as he observed the silently encircling wind barrier around him.

'Is this some sort of new power I gained while I was out in the fourth mountain?' He asked himself as he tried to remember the things that happened back at the fourth mountain yesterday.

His memories were hazy right until he lost consciousness and woke up with Ciaran and Gideon fighting. He only had blurred images of what happened and he could not fully identify everything.

'I should ask them,' He thought as he turned to look at Gideon.

"Gideon, what happened back at the fourth mountain yesterday?" He asked and Gideon tilted his head as he was still staring amazed at the power of his master.

'So cool,' He thought before his gaze went on to the person himself.

"A-Ah... well you see, young master, I was at the other side of the mountain when I saw small patches of white things in the sky!" He exclaimed in an exaggerated manner with his arms pointing at the now dark sky.

They were at the entrance of the fifth mountain, which meant the towering trees were now blocking the skies above them.

"So I immediately hurried to go where the white things were shooting up and then I found the young master floating in the air while holding a wind orb!" He said as he placed both of his hands on his side and he imitated the way he saw Pier levitate.

He even made his eyes roll back to imitate the glow Pier's eyes gave when he was holding the wind orb.

Pier rolled his eyes at his knight's antics.

'It's useless talking to him,'

He concluded. It wasn't useful talking to Gideon in the first place knowing how idiotic his knight could be at times.

He then turned to look at the silent Ciaran.

He raised his eyebrows and Ciaran shrugged his shoulders at Pier.

"I am not sure of what happened either. I was at the third mountain when I saw the lights dance at the sky followed by the flashes of lightning and your wind orb," Ciaran explained and Pier sighed at the response he got from the two.

Of course, who would be able to tell directly what happened when no one could even enter the place where he had caused lightning to fall?

One would simply need to surpass his knight's denseness and level of stupidity before they enter his field of ice lightning and maybe survive for a few seconds before getting struck with one and completely freezing before they die.

'That's weird. I'm sure it's between the time where I gained Pier's feelings when this happened,' He thought about it as he produced a wind orb in his hand.

He then threw it at a distance and

BOOM!

The area exploded, taking a few trees down with it.

The vampire prince and the expert knight swordsman all stared at the area where Pier's orb magic just landed with gaping mouths.

It was worse for the young master who saw the scenario too.

He could feel his entire mouth gaping open with his eyes wide while he stared at the now cleared area.

"Munchkin... I'm a motherfucking munchkin..." He whispered to himself as he stared at his hands.

However, as a few seconds passed by them, he felt the repercussions of using even a small wind orb.

His breathing started to get faster and rugged as his stamina was decreased by a considerable amount.

"A wind... haah... orb for this much energy?!" He exclaimed in anger.

'At least give me a better form if I were to consume this much stamina!' He rallied in his mind but there was no use talking to himself.

He did not feel any consumption with the barrier and the crown appearing on his head but the small wind orb took a toll on his body.

He tried to focus his mind on the forms that he was able to complete.

'What...'

He had a horrified look on his face as he could not remember the wind forms that he had fully mastered.

Both the whip and the spear did not appear when he tried to manifest it in his hands.

"Oh my god, I think I can't form my spear-"

Rumble~

Rumble~

Rumble~

However, his speech was interrupted when the ground started to violently shake.

Pier's eyes widened when he felt the rumbling of the ground and when his eyes scanned their surroundings, he immediately cursed.

"GIDEON, YOU IDIOT!" Pier screamed at the top of his lungs when he saw Gideon walking inside the fifth mountain's premised while eating on some berries that he found on a nearby bush.

It was already common knowledge for Pier and the vampires that once they step inside the territory of a certain mountain, immediately, the creatures inside of the said place would feel their presence and come rushing at them.

But it was another case for Gideon who did not know such things.

Gideon also had his eyes wide open when he felt the shaking of the ground. The berries fell out of his hand as he formed a terrified expression on his face.

"Young Master- AAH!" He screamed when he saw the thing that was causing the rumbling.

Running towards them was

"A FUCKING BURNING SKELETON?" Pier cursed when he saw the giant skeleton of a creature that he did not know what it originally was stomped on the ground and ran towards them.

The burning skeleton had pointed fangs and he felt like he would get impaled and die immediately if he comes close to it.

"Immediately run!" Ciaran hurriedly spoke as he grabbed Pier by his waist and they quickly moved through the trees.

"YOUNG MASTER! AAAH!" Gideon who was left behind the two also started to run for his life.

It was very comical if only there wasn't a giant burning skeleton chasing after them.

What was weirder is that the burning skeleton did not burn any of the trees or its surroundings. The flames its body emitted only seemed like it was some sort of display.

However, Pier had a bad feeling about it.

He felt something different with the fire coming out from its body.

"GIDEON!" He called out to the knight who was quickly running at a tremendous speed behind them.

Ciaran's expertise of maneuvering through forests and trees along with the aid of his magic in controlling the shadows made them easily run.

Pier was dumbfounded as he looked at his knight who was almost just as fast as them.

The knight who could not even properly protect himself before was now running at an equal speed with a vampire prince and an alpha wolf.

"YES, YOUNG MASTER?!" Gideon screamed in response.

"HOW ARE YOU RUNNING THAT FAST?" Pier asked in a loud voice and Ciaran resisted the urge to leave the two even though they could just run as fast as him.

"I JUST CAN!" Gideon replied as he looked back and the terrifying bone monster that did not show any signs of its burning coming close to a stop freaked him out again.

"YOU JUST CAN? THAT DOES NOT MAKE ANY SENSE!" Pier replied while his body was also imitating the flapping in the wind just like the cloak Ciaran was wearing.

"IT DOES IF THE YOUNG MASTER IS ME!" Gideon replied and Ciaran growled at how stupid his Pier and the knight sounded when they were talking with each other.

"Pier! Stop talking idiotic with that knight!" Ciaran spoke with caution and hurry as the terrifying screech of the bone monster chasing them could be heard from a distance.

"You're right," Pier spoke as he nodded his head multiple times.

He was terrified of the bone monster of course, but it seemed like when he was talking with Gideon he also gets infected with his knight's tendencies of becoming retarded.

"Gideon!" He called to the knight who was jumping from tree to tree just a few distances from them.

"Yes?!"

"Fight that monster!" Pier ordered and Gideon gave him a disbelieving look.

"What?! Young Master, please do not sacrifice me! I am still not a swordmaster and your knight!" He spoke as he felt hurt with Pier's words of sacrificing him to the monster so they could escape.

Not that Pier had said anything about sacrificing Gideon, the knight only thought he was being offered as a sacrificial relief to the burning bone monster.

"I'M NOT DONE TALKING YET, IDIOT!" Pier spoke in an angry tone and he wanted to smack his knight's head if only they weren't in the situation they were currently in.

"I will try distracting it and when its focus is not on you, attack it immediately!" Pier spoke and Gideon nodded his head in a hurry.

'Haah, Elsa please help me!' He whispered to one of the main characters in the movie he liked watching back in his previous life who also had ice powers like him.

"Ciaran, continue running in a straight line!" Pier ordered and the vampire prince silently nodded his head.

Pier pointed his hand at the roaring bone beast behind them.

Trees left and right was taken out one by one as the giant beast destroyed the ground where it was stomping and uprooted the trees growing in it.

"Come forth and impale the undead who brought discrepancy amongst the harmony of life," Pier whispered.

He knew that it was an undead monster. How could something that is only bones and constantly burning be alive in the first place anyway?

It was against the laws of nature to run and chase people around with their dead and burning bodies.

Immediately after the short chant, white translucent magic started to spread on the path where Ciaran and Pier were running. Huge ice spikes appeared on the areas where the translucent magic all were dispersed.

GRAAAAAGH!

The bone monster roared as the giant ice spikes started to hinder its movements in following the intruders who went inside its territory.

It became even more enraged as it smashed the ice spikes with its fangs and Pier watched in horror as his ice magic was shattered by the bone monster.

'Fuck...' He cursed in his mind as he turned his head back to look at the way where they are going.

On the other hand, Gideon took advantage of the monster's rage in destroying the ice spikes that appeared on the ground as he leaped from beside a tree and

Slash!

He did a powerful slash with his sword.

But instead of the bone monster's bones getting sliced, his sword gave him a shaking repercussion as the bones were like metal, to begin with.

"YOUNG MASTER, THE BONES ARE REALLY STRONG! I CAN'T CUT THROUGH THEM!" Gideon said with worry as he started to run again since the bone monster's attention was now on him.

He had a panicked expression on his face because his sword that easily cut through the monsters on the previous mountains did not even do a single dent on the bones of the creature that they are facing right now.

It was a complete blow in his pride that he was not able to slice through something completely.

At the same time, he had a frown and a face that seemed like he was about to cry as he looked at Pier.

Pier also stared back at his knight who was quickly running through the trees.

"WHA- WHY DO YOU LOOK LIKE YOU'RE ABOUT TO CRY?!" Pier asked in worry.

Was Gideon hurt?

He did not see the monster do anything to his knight but why was Gideon giving him a hurt expression.

"Y-Young Master... I was not able to c-cut it!" The tears on the side of Gideon's eyes made Pier's entire face form a violent and angry frown.

"DON'T BE OVERDRAMATIC! OF COURSE, THOSE ARE NOT JUST NORMAL BONES!" Pier screamed in exasperation and annoyance at his knight's antics.

"T-Then why did the young master order me to attack it in the first place?!" Gideon cried out in frustration after his blade did not cut the monster.

He was hurt because of such a reason.

"TO TEST IT OF COURSE!" Pier rolled his eyes as he turned to look at Ciaran who was also now starting to form sweats in his forehead from running for quite some time now away from the monster and using his magic too.

"Ciaran!" Pier called and Ciaran nodded his head as a sign of his acknowledgment at Pier's call.

"Can you- ah!" He screamed in surprise when Ciaran quickly turned in another direction.

Right where they had just been, something huge came rushing past them.

Gideon also quickly avoided the rushing thing.

"What in the world-" Ciaran spoke also in utter surprise.

Pier's eyes were wide when he saw what had just gone rushing past them from the front.

It was another burning skeleton like the one that was chasing them.

"RUN!" Gideon and Pier both screamed at the same time when instead of a single burning skeleton giant, there were now two.

"The stone might have caused that!" Ciaran said in hurry and Pier also swatted the anxiousness away from his mind.

"Ciaran, help Gideon distract the two monsters!" He spoke and Ciaran's head immediately turned to look at him.

"No, why would I-"

"I'll go sneak in and destroy the stone while you guys distract the bone monsters!" Pier spoke in a hurry.

There was no use using his fire magic when the bones were already burning in the first place. He could also not use his ice magic too much because he was conserving the energy he needed to destroy the glowing stone.

The same goes for his wind magic that had been somehow upgraded into a more powerful version but consumed too much stamina from him.

He focused on his thoughts again and

Swoosh!

He breathed in relief as wind magic started to surround his body again starting from his feet.

"Pier wait-" Ciaran called but Pier had already jumped off of his back and down into the ground.

"DO AS I SAY!" He instructed as wind magic assisted his feet and he instantly moved in a very fast manner through the woods.

Ciaran was left standing on a branch as he watched Pier's knight get chased around by the two skeleton monsters.

"Fuck!" He cursed as Gideon's screams of fear resonated throughout the forest.

"AAAH! THEY'RE GOING TO EAT ME BUT THEY CAN'T DIGEST ME!" He screamed again as he hopped off a tree onto another.

The tree he had just been was immediately uprooted from the ground when one of the bone monsters' fangs pierced its trunk.

"AAAAH!" The screaming continued until it was then

"Gather"

Darkness started to spread out from Ciaran's feet and it covered a portion of the forest where the monsters, him, and Gideon were.

---

Huff~

Huff~

Pier took multiple gasps as he constantly ran towards the place where his hazy memory brought him. It was also easy to locate the top of the fifth mountain since the glow of the enormous stone at the peak was bright enough to be seen.

He huffed again as he passed through a few more trees.

It had been quite some time now since he left his knight and the vampire prince to distract the two bone monsters and luckily he did not encounter the third one as he went through the forest.

'I need to destroy the stone quick!' he thought.

Gideon and Ciaran's life was probably in danger now especially since they were holding the two giant bone monsters.

Ciaran could just teleport and take Gideon away from the place but that would mean Pier would be left alone at the upper parts of the mountain with two terrifying monsters chasing after him.

'Hold on, just for a bit longer!' He silently prayed for the two males to persist.

---

"AAAAH!" This time, it was not a scream of fear from Gideon but his anger as he swiftly ran across the clearing in an unpredictable direction.

His sword emitted faint bluish lights and his eyes did too.

His speed was incredibly fast that one of the bone monsters was having a hard time pointing out where he'd go.

Slash!

He slashed his sword and just like the times he tried slashing the bones, it did not leave any effect.

This also goes the same for the vampire prince who was in his transformed state.

Ciaran's huge dark wolf was swiftly running across the dark space that he had created with his magic.

Numerous formless shadows appeared from the field of darkness as they assisted the vampire prince in also hitting one of the bone monsters.

Gideon and Ciaran both had one each.

His sharp claws and fangs tried to do some damage to the bone monsters who were currently being slowed down by the field of darkness.

But alas! It was in vain.

The two both stood side by side as Ciaran took continuous pants and Gideon gasped for air.

The burning skeleton monsters were so durable and strong that they could not even deal a single inch of fracture in the bones.

"You're going to die here, knight," Ciaran spoke as they both stood back to back with each bone monster facing them.

"Ha, as if I'd let you have my master all for yourself, vampire!" Gideon spoke angrily.

The ground shook as the two giant bone creatures stomped towards them.

Haaah...

Their breaths were ragged and they were tired.

Even though they went for hours fighting each other to death before, fighting the two giant monsters took too much of their power and stamina because of how hard they were trying to pierce through the flames and the bones.

Each time they went close to the monster, they could feel the burning heat coming from it which made things even more difficult.

"I'll survive and you'll die, remember that," Gideon spoke as he stood on his battle stance.

"I beg to differ, knight. I still need to pursue your master," Ciaran smirked as he remembered the white-haired noble who had a constant frown on his face.

"I'll survive!" they both spoke as they ran towards each monster that they were facing.

---

Pier coughed as he reached the peak of the final mountain in the Mir Mountains.

He had used his wind magic to the maximum just so he could arrive faster at the top.

He pounded his chest with his fist as he urged himself to take in more air and properly breath.

His feet were tired and his hands were bruised from his continuous grasp to the trees just so he could boost himself upward the mountain peak.

But he knew this would not compare to Ciaran and Gideon's situation right now.

Just one more climb and Pier will be able to reach the place where the giant glowing stone was.

He took in another breath.

Huff

He then started to put both of his hands on the edge of the spot where the stone was.

'Don't look down, don't look down,' he urged himself but he did look down.

His eyes widened and his stomach churned when he saw the view.

He was now a few thousand meters above ground and he was climbing onto some ascending landscape.

He was climbing the peak of the mountain using only his bare hands and with the assistance of his magic.

Argh

He groaned when the cut on his hand came in contact with the dirty ground.

He was even starting to think that the fog beside him were now clouds.

But at a far distance, he saw that the field of darkness created by Ciaran was now almost non-existent and ripped into shreds with only the smallest marks of it remaining.

'No...'

Pier's heart started to beat wildly at the sight.

Ciaran and Gideon could not be defeated now.

Not now, not now that he was already so close at the top.

It was a decision he made on a whim to leave the two and just go alone at the top.
