《Changing The Course of Fate》Chapter 82 - Confrontation

Pier Belmiunde was in pain.

He cried loudly as he knelt on the ground that was now covered in ice.

His ice magic that produced flashes of lightning shattered the ground and instead, replaced it with an unbreakable foundation that was made of a crystal clear structure.

Why was it so sudden?

What happened?

As Pier was chased by the monstrous beast, his sense of fear was activated and as he stared at the burning body, his sense of despair was ignited.

The two requirements were met which allowed him to see the original Pier Belmiunde's feelings.

What he only saw in the previous months were Pier's memories.

He did not know what Pier felt every time he looks into the memory.

He only based his judgments on his own standards that he deemed what Pier must have felt after all the things that he had gone through.

But now it was a different story.

Pier's real feelings were transmitted directly into his body.

Sorrow?

Pain?

Sadness?

They were present.

However, none of it even reached a quarter of what Pier had been feeling the most on the day that he died.

It was wrath

Fury

Indignation

The original Pier felt he was unfairly treated by the world.

Eliam's eyes were shut as he cried his tears of pain.

It was as if the original Pier Belmiunde's entire existence was absorbed in his body and became a part of his own.

An unknown feeling that made him extremely infuriated coursed his body.

A sense of anger that he knew rarely showed up in his normal state was raging inside his mind. He wanted to destroy everything, he wanted to quench his thirst for revenge.

His entire being felt the thunderstorm of wrath the original Pier Belmiunde had been storing inside his own heart for the past years he was treated like garbage.

"It hurts...hic... it hurts..." Pier spoke as his tears continued to stream down his face.

"It hurts so much..." He wept as he felt his entire body go numb at the sensation of pain reverberating throughout his body.

"Make it stop...hic... someone...." He spoke in desperation but who could help him right now?

He was in the middle of the immense magic spell that he had created.

The storm of lightning that rained down upon him pierced the beast's body.

Another feature added is wherever the lightning touched, it would leave a trail of ice and froze everything underneath it.

"Someone help me..." he begged as he silently cried under the rain of lightning.

Yet no one was there, no one could.

Any creature that would step inside his field of magic would instantly freeze and break as if they were statues made out of stone.

His head was dizzy and his vision was blurry. His head was no longer covered with the hood of his cloak as his white hair displayed itself in front of everyone who was able to see him.

"AAAAH!" He screamed once more and the magic clouds that produced his raging flashes of lightning started to form a whirlpool up in the sky.

"Somebody.... hic..." He pleaded as he reached his hand out in thin air.

His magic raged, his capacity was also getting drained up until the last drop.

It wouldn't be far until he would lose consciousness now.

However, Pier wanted to do one last thing before his eyes closed.

His entire body started to levitate in the air and his frame was surrounded by wind magic.

"I... I need to destroy something," He whispered between his sobs and sniffs.

His desire to destroy something was so huge that he needed to vent it out. The original Pier's rage welled up inside of him and poured out like the entire sea placed on a small glass.

'I see you are now complete,'

"H-Huh?" He asked with only half of his consciousness awake now.

'This will be the last time that we speak, however, you have now completed your body and this is your reward,'

The voice spoke again but Pier could not clearly understand it well.

However, he could feel something very strong start to form in his hand.

'The winds have seen your suffering and they will aid your side,'

The voice spoke once more and in Pier Belmiunde's palm was the first element and form that he got when he started to train magic.

'Try it out now, you need to let your anger out'

The voice consoled and Pier sobbed a few more times while he was still floating mid-air.

'Destroy the thing that you aimed to do right from the beginning.' Pier nodded at the voice even though he did not know to whom it belong in the first place.

He held his wind orb gently as he was now further up in the sky where his magic cloud was. He can now clearly see the mountain range that was below him.

Up ahead was the fifth and final mountain of the Mir Mountains.

It was the tallest out of all the mountains and right at the top, Pier can see a faint glow.

"Is... is that the rock?" He asked and sniffed.

The voice did not reply to the young master's question. He looked at the wind orb in his hands and looked back at the glowing rock at the top of the fifth mountain.

He held it up and started to stretch so he can throw it.

However, before the young master can throw it, a sudden surge of pain erupted in his chest.

Huk!

He clutched his chest as his breath was stopped midway with the sudden pain.

The wind orb left his hands as it fell down the fourth mountain.

"W-What's... ah..." He groaned in pain.

Pier closed his eyes as he continued to take deep breaths as the pain in his chest was spreading throughout his body.

He was too occupied with the pain he was feeling that he did not notice what happened when the small wind orb fell into the side of the mountain.

BOOM!

When the wind orb touched the surface covered with ice, it instantly exploded.

The explosion caused the earth to tremble and the surroundings to sway along the disastrous wind created by the wind orb's explosion.

Sharp and gigantic gusts of winds erupted from the center of the explosion throughout the surroundings. The force created by the wind orb's explosion eradicated a huge portion of land that it touched.

The trees on the third and the fifth mountain all shook violently as the gusts of wind reached them. Even the vampires who were camping at the third mountain all stared wide-eyed at the destructive explosion.

'What... what is happening....' Ciaran watched as the skies were filled with brilliant lights and blasting winds.

All combined in a majestic display of power and beauty.

"Chief... what is that?" The leader of the scouts asked Ciaran. The vampire had his mouth agape and his eyes opened wide.

However, the vampire prince could not answer.

What could it be?

What could something be that powerful cause such chaos on the fourth mountain?

It was fearsome.

It was destructive.

As a creature who had the bloodline of royalties and a level multiple times higher than the normal vampire and lycanthrope, he could feel how colossal the magic power was being used just from the lights alone.

The explosion that happened was an entirely new case.

It was only a power displayable by top-tier mages.

No, he felt that it was better but he could not properly identify it.

Ciaran was scared. He was scared of the sight, everyone was.

But he already had a hunch what was the cause of the phenomenon.

'Pier...' He thought of the young master who had gone out for a moment until the chaos on the fourth mountain happened.

"C-Chief!" The vampires called out as they saw the vampire prince start to move despite the brilliant display of magic in the background.

"I need to look for Pier" He spoke as black smoke surrounded him and in an instant, he disappeared.

---

"Haaah... haaah..." Pier took deep breaths as his body was starting to be lowered down on the ground.

Was there even a ground to begin with?

The entire side of the fourth mountain was can no longer be seen.

His wind orb that accidentally fell because of the sudden pain he felt erased a portion of the mountain in an instant.

Pier watched with tired yet wide eyes.

He watched as the beautiful yet alluring scenario of the Mir Mountain's fourth mountain was destroyed by his magic. The impact was so strong that it created a crescent shape space on the side of the fourth mountain.

But he could no longer cry.

He wanted to but his tears were dried up and he felt like his entire body would soon stop working.

Soon after, the young master's eyes closed and his entire body went limp.

His wind magic disappeared and it only increased his fall towards the now empty side of the fourth mountain. Below him were debris of rocks and other materials that once existed on the mountain.

Thud!

But his unconscious body did not hit the ground.

"Young master...." Gideon spoke with a soft yet stoic gaze.

Pier's tired-looking face was contorted into a comfortable slumber as he quietly slept on Gideon's arms.

The knight held his master in his arms tightly as the feeling of Pier's warm body was felt by his hands.

"Young master.... hic..."

Tears welled up in Gideon's eyes as he looked at Pier's face once more.

The once luscious black hair was now replaced with silky snow-white hair.

But he knew it was his master.

Even with the change of hair color, he could not forget the master who saved his life.

"Young master... you're here... hic" He cried at the sight.

"Young master...." he called out again and this time, Gideon entirely broke down.

His longing

despair

Want

Need

Sadness

The feeling of necessity to be by his young master's side always

The emotions that he felt daily without Pier by his side

All poured out as Gideon cried while he was clutching Pier tightly in his arms.

"Young master... you're here... I-I finally found you!" He cried as he kneeled on the ground.

"Let go of Pier this instant," Gideon whipped his head in the direction where the voice had come from.

His eyes immediately glared and his nostrils flared with anger when the person spoke his master's name carelessly.

"Show yourself," Gideon's weeping and mournful face immediately disappeared at the presence of another existence that was threatening his master who's unconscious.

"Let him go this instant!" Ciaran's jaws tightened when he saw Pier in the arms of another person.

The knight tightly carried his master in his arms as he jumped away from the person that emerged from the darkness.

He landed on a spot that had small patches of grass and he laid Pier gently.

He then stood in front of the white-haired young master and took his sword out of its sheathe.

"You dare carelessly speak of my master's name!" He screamed in anger and the stranger with the black hood glared back at him.

"You dare touch Pier..." Ciaran's rationality was gone when he saw the stranger's back carrying and hugging Pier.

Ciaran swiftly moved as he appeared beside the knight and his fist infused with dark energy went to punch the knight who stood in front of Pier.

However, to his surprise, the knight crossed his arms while still holding his sword and blocked the vampire prince's attack.

Kurrghk!

It was the same case for Gideon.

His entire body shook lightly at the punch.

The force was so strong that he had to forcefully stand on his ground and endure the powerful attack.

He immediately slashed his sword and the weapon that emitted a bluish glow almost pierced the vampire prince's chest.

But luckily, Ciaran was able to draw his position back again.

They both stood at a certain distance.

Behind the knight was the unconscious body of the young master that the vampire prince wanted to protect.

Under the glowing moonlight, the knight's red cape and the vampire prince's dark cloak flapped due to the remnants of the young master's magic power.

Ciaran's eyes glowed red and the knight's sword emitted a faint bluish light as they both spoke one phrase.

"Die, you bastard"

---

"Mhmm..." Pier groaned as he slowly opened his eyes.

Clang!

"H-Huh?" He rubbed his eyes as his head slightly hurt.

Clang!

He heard the sound of something hard clashing against each other again.

He fully opened his eyes as he adjusted himself to the darkness that was surrounding him. However, it was not that dark because moonlight was shining down on him.

He felt the ticklish yet comfortable grass on his back.

Ugh!

He half got up while he continued to rub his eyes.

However, what he saw made him wide awake in an instant.

Slash!

The knight's sword slashed quickly but the opponent was quick enough to dodge it and do a counterattack.

Grrr!

The creature growled as it stared furiously at the knight.

"W-What in the world..." He stared with wide eyes as an extremely huge black wolf was running on all fours on the ground while surrounding a person who wore a knight's armor.

They were engaged in a fierce duel as the knight's swords and the wolf's fangs and claws clashed against each other.

However, even amidst the huge wolf's intimidating appearance, the knight stood confident as he met with the wolf's attacks.

Both sides were equally strong and no one seemed to back off.

The knight's back was facing him so Pier had no idea who the person was and the large black wolf did not seem like it was a monster from the Mir mountains because aside from its extremely huge body, its face was normal.

The two fiercely fought again.

The huge wolf's claws were very strong that Gideon's arms shook with each time they met in the middle.

It had been a few hours now since they engaged in a battle towards death but no one showed signs of getting tired.

None had the plans to stop until the other was dead.

Not until

"Enclose them,"

The ground they stood on was immediately covered in ice and it crept up until the knight and the wolf was frozen up to their necks.

Both creatures were unable to turn their heads but they shivered when they knew who did the seemingly unescapable binding spell.

"Who are you?" The voice asked and Gideon's chest started to beat faster again in anticipation to see the person who spoke.

"Y-Young master..." Gideon called out and immediately, Pier's eyes widened.

"G-Gideon?!"

Schaaaa~

Black smoke emerged from the frozen wolf's body until the wolf could no longer be seen but was instead replaced with a person.

"C-Ciaran?!"

"Young master!"

"Pier!"
