《Changing The Course of Fate》Chapter 81 - Awakening

"AAH!" Pier screamed as he ran for his life.

Behind him, trees were falling left and right as a ginormous monster that had huge claws and ferocious face ran on all fours and chased him.

The monster resembled that of a bear.

However, when Pier looked back at the monster, he slightly felt fearful of how monstrous it looked. Compared to the magical beast in the forest leading to the boundary which was mystical looking, this monster bear was gruesome and disgusting to look at.

It was multiple times bigger than the magical beast Pier fought at the Forest too.

"AAAH!" He screamed again as wind magic assisted his body and he swiftly moved.

He was being chased for a few minutes now and he did not know the way back to the third mountain since he got lost.

---

"Pier, where are you going?" Ciaran asked as he stopped the young master from getting out of the temporary house the vampires built for them again on the third mountain.

"Oh, I'm just going to look around," Pier said in a nonchalant manner and the vampire eyed him suspiciously.

Pier Belmiunde's chances of encountering something dangerous when he was alone were always high.

"Then I'll have some of the warriors accompany you," He explained and Pier's face frowned at the mention of having company.

"What? No!" He retaliated.

"Why not?!" Ciaran also asked.

"Can't the guy just be alone for a moment?" He asked in distress but the vampire prince looked like he would give Pier some warriors to accompany him while he goes outside.

"You can't go outside alone, Pier," Ciaran told him and Pier raised his eyebrows.

He was hard-headed. Pier was hard-headed at times especially when he wants to go out and have fun all by himself.

"Why not?"

"The third mountain is closer to the fourth mountain than you think. If you wander all alone you would could get lost and you'll find yourself on the fourth mountain," Ciaran explained and Pier's frown increased.

"Aish~ don't worry, vamps! I won't go too far!" He said while sporting a huge smile on his face.

Ciaran could not resist the cute and beautiful smile that Pier gave him which made his arms go weak for a moment.

His hand slipped from its grasp on Pier's cloak which made the young master take it as a sign for him to go out and wander alone.

"Pier-" but before he could even hear the vampire prince's words, Pier closed the door and used his wind magic to run out.

---

"AAAH!" He screamed again for the third time as the giant bear was running behind him. The ground constantly trembled as the bear's giant paws stomped on the earth beneath them.

Of course, because he was a hard-headed idiot, this is what he got for not listening to Ciaran.

He raised his right hand in the air while he ran and did not bother doing any chants as the white force that he used on the second mountain came out.

It was inconsistent because Pier was running so instead of huge clouds in the sky, small patches of white dots in the sky could be seen.

Huff

He was getting tired and out of breath from running with his wind magic slightly and Pier knew he had to do this or die in the claws of the disaster-like creature running after him.

Thud

Thud

Thud

The constant thuds on the ground caused by the giant bear that was the side of the tree Ciaran's home were perched on resonated in his ears.

He brought his hand back down as the small patches on the sky filled his view.

"Haaah..." He breathed hard as he took a turn on the right. The giant bear's claws missed the young master by a mere inch.

"There!" He spoke with surprise as he found out he was already on the side of the fourth mountain with a descending and steep slope.

He swiftly ran towards the side of the mountain where there was a descending landscape.

'Quickly, think!' He urged himself as he took advantage of the slope that he had gone.

The monster's large body was not able to hold its weight properly as it had a hard time running on the descending plain. It was continuously staggering as it tried to keep its balance while chasing the small creature that disturbed its slumber.

Pier observed the movements of the monster. Surrounding them were newly grown trees that were yet to mature.

'Ah,' He thought of something as he stopped running.

Instead, he turned to face the giant monster who was still trying to keep its balance on the descending landscape.

Swoosh~

GAAAARGH!

The giant monster with a bear's face roared in anger as its huge body was having a hard time keeping up with Pier.

Wind magic manifested in his palms as it formed into the spear he used before.

The intricate designs were majestic to look at and the tangible body of the wind spear was weightless, just like his other elemental weapons.

Pier observed as the giant creature held on the trees on the slope for additional support.

"I swear I'll join the tree planting campaign in my next life!" He promised as he started to run towards the monster.

While he was running, he was also slashing his wind spear left and right. It was so sharp that it only took him two or three slashes using the spear to cut the smaller trees.

"I do not want to cause a landslide because I killed many trees but I don't want to die either," He joked even though he was running out of energy from too much running and magic usage.

Pier Belmiunde always liked to stay at the back whenever there was something others can do.

However, it was not the case for this one.

He was all alone and he knew if he prolonged the chase, the bear might continue following him until the third mountain where the members of Nightfall were now camping for the time being.

The monster that was the biggest he had seen so far was so disturbing to look at that even him who was taking it easy since the second and the third mountain was terrified.

'Glad I reached the side of the mountain with a descending slope,' He was silently thanking the god of luck for the opportunity given to him.

When he had cut all of the trees that the bear could hold as temporary support, he stood still.

He watched as the humungous thing constantly cling to the ground so it would not fall.

'Not that it would die when it falls but I guess it wants to eat me so much,' He thought as he pointed his hand on the ground.

'I'm one yummy motherfucker,' He complimented himself as fire magic started to form in his palms and directly into the ground.

It was the same spell that he had used when he dueled with Ciaran in the previous weeks.

Cracks started to appear on the ground where they were and fire emerged from the open spaces.

Just like Ciaran had said, Pier's fire magic was abnormal. It was not like the other fire magics that mages used but the young master's fire magic was something more sinister.

It burns even wet substances into ashes.

"Go straight to hell you disgusting bitch!" He cursed the monster and his fire magic started to burn the creature.

It thrashed around as it felt the pain of Pier's fire magic slowly burn the rugged fur it has. However, it could not do so much because the terrain they were on was disadvantageous to the creature that weighed tons.

Its weight was making its movements sluggish and the downward slope of the mountainside was giving it a hard time balancing itself upright.

Pier's actions of cutting the small trees also helped with giving the monstrous beast a hard time. It could not cling itself to any of the trees around it so basically, was close to immobile at this point.

Crackle~

Crackle~

Crackle~

Pier watched as the beast roared in anger while his fire magic was burning it.

Crackle~

Crackle~

Crackle~

Emotions started to arise from the young master's deepest and hidden part of his mind. Pier watched the burning creature scream in agony and despair.

His sentiments that were mainly composed of anger after being kept for a long time while he was at the mountain with the vampires started to arise once more when he saw the burning giant.

"Tsk," he clicked his tongue as he was becoming impatient with how long it was taking for him to kill the monster.

He pointed his hand out to the burning beast.

"Accumulate upon my orders," He chanted as the patches of his ice magic that was scattered across the skies of the fourth mountain started to gather above the spot they were on.

"Enclose the burning creature upon my will and pierce it upon my will." It was similar to the chant that he usually does back when he was still starting to learn magic at the Taron Kingdom. However, he did not mind if it was cringeworthy.

He wanted to stop running because he was already tired.

The young master hates running.

He had already run away from the kingdom and the emotions he kept inside resurfaced when he felt fear after being chased by the beast.

"Once I'm done here I'll go back to that hellish place and freeze everyone to death," He promised as his hands that were pointing at the monstrous creature started to close.

"I thought I'd let my anger towards everyone go," He whispered as he bowed his head.

It was at that moment, that the original Pier Belmiunde's hidden emotions under his memories started to show themselves and they mixed with Eliam's feelings.

It was the awakening of a new burning hatred inside the original Pier and the new Pier Belmiunde's desire for revenge.

His chase with the monster became the trigger for the new emotions to be unlocked.

"Haven't I promised you, Pier?" He asked himself as he remembered the first day that he had come into Pier Belmiunde's body.

"I'll make everyone pay for the sins they made,"

Clench!

His hands started to close further and the white clouds gathered more into one single spot.

"A god might forgive them but I'm not one." One finger fully closed and the clouds from his ice magic emitted a faint glow

"I'm a being that chases for revenge." Another finger closed totally and the light from the clouds of ice magic became brighter

"It had been fun living away from them even for a short moment, no?" He chuckled as he closed another finger entirely.

As three fingers fully closed in Pier's hands, the clouds started to produce white crystals up in the sky.

The brilliant display of magic that created ice crystals above made the skies of the fourth mountain light up totally.

Vampires on the third mountain all gasped in awe as the different colors of lights that were produced by the ice crystals enchanted them with their beauty.

A similar scenario to that of an Aurora Borealis was being produced by the uncountable ice crystals that were above the skies of the fourth mountain.

"I have been too complacent with my goals that I took everything easily," tears started to form in Pier's eyes.

"Help the vampires, then what?" He laughed while tears flowed down his eyes.

"I'm so sorry, I lived my life as Eliam even without finishing my tasks as Pier Belmiunde." He apologized as his face contorted into pain and suffering.

Another finger closed and the brilliant display of lights on the sky all moved in an unpredictable pattern. The lights danced as the rage inside Pier Belmiunde also coursed in his veins.

The original Pier's memories started to replay themselves forcefully in Eliam's mind.

"You were not an angel, Pier, you're also a being capable of feeling emotions other than happiness," He started to close the final finger on his hand that was pointing at the huge magic beast.

He did not notice it but the beast was almost reaching him. Despite it getting burned, it still moved to chase after the young master who simply stood at a distance from it.

"I haven't seen your despise for the world. I'm so sorry, I thought you were happy when you said you wanted to rest but I guess you can still lie even after death" He spoke as he started to fully out cry.

"L-Let me become Pier Belmiunde again and I will change the fate that you have faced," He spoke as the final finger enclosed and his hands were fully formed into a fist.

"Vengeance is not just for gods, it is also for humans who have suffered."

The lights stopped moving

The vampires all froze in their spots

Ciaran clenched his fists as he observed the immense power circling on the skies of the fourth mountain.

"Immediately gather and head for the four-"

But before he could command the troops of vampires, the sky trembled and the clouds roared in anger.

"I will become retribution itself," Pier whispered as his magic was unleashed.

PANG!

A series of lightning strikes went down from the clouds of magic and it pierced the giant beast.

It was the point when the original Pier Belmiunde's anger was presented to Eliam.

The skies continued to tremble and the wind became violent.

The entire Mir Mountains witnessed the wrath of Pier Belmiunde befall upon the giant monster.
