《Changing The Course of Fate》Chapter 68 - Lunatic

"I could leave you all homeless here and I would not hesitate to do it if I wanted to," He threatened and for the first time, Hex closed his mouth and did not make any sound.
It was then, Pier noticed something move quickly right outside the house. It was so fast that he wasn't almost able to catch it but he luckily did.
Swoosh!
The young master then pointed his other hand where the sound came from and as he did, wind magic manifested in his palm. It quickly formed into a spear that had intricate designs and was very cool to look at.
The person who swiftly moved immediately stopped once the wind spear came in contact with her forehead.
"Ha, it almost pierced my skull!" Clone spoke as she had a disturbing grin on her face with her fangs showing clearly.
Pier kept the hood over his face. His left hand held his fire sword while pointing it at Hex's throat and a wind spear on the right one which was pointing at Clone's head.
"You're really something! You detected my movement, stranger!" Clone said with a happy expression on her face but the person whom they did not know the face kept silent without speaking anything back to her.
The wind spear was already starting to pierce in her head and a little amount of blood came pouring down her face. The vampire woman's hair was also slightly swaying along with the gusts of wind that were being produced from the young master's magic spear.
Hex was constantly gulping and Clone was smiling.
"That's enough!" Ciaran's authoritative voice resonated around the room.
Clone backed off once she heard Ciaran's voice and Hex also started to back off but he was cornered in a wall and he had no place left to move so much.
If he did, the sword would pierce his throat and he did not know what would happen next.
"I came here after I sensed that my brother was in danger. I saw him getting cornered with a sword in his neck so I decided to attack but I guess there was some sort of misunderstanding," Clone spoke as the wound on her forehead caused by Pier's spear had now healed completely and disappeared without a trace.
"Pier..." Ciaran called the young master and Pier thought for a moment before he brought the sword down.
He inserted his hands back in the pockets of his cloak as he started to silently walk out the door of the house.
Ciaran watched the hooded young master pass through him.
'Fuck'
He then turned his gaze towards the vampire who just had a fire sword pointed at his neck.
"We'll talk later"
The chief spoke the words and proceeded to run after the stranger who walked out.
Hex only bowed his head as he listened to Ciaran's words.
'What...was that?' He thought over and over again.
The stranger's eyes that he saw for the first time produced a chilling glow that made him shiver.
It made him feel fear.
'Just like the monsters from the fifth mountain...' He pondered over the thought of how scary the person's eyes were.
He then turned to look up when he saw a pair of boots appear right in front of him.
"I think you've caused quite the stir this time, little brother, no?" Clone spoke as she grinned and her fangs bared again in front of Hex.
The vampire gulped as he watched the dangerous glow that was emitted from Clone's eyes.

"Pier!" Ciaran called out as he looked around the surroundings.
He could not find the young master wherever he looked.
"Pier!" He called again but there was no response.
He had already looked through the training area, back at his house, and all the places he thought Pier would be but all were in vain.
The young master disappeared like the wind.
'It is very dangerous outside the village!' He slightly panicked.
He lifted his hands up above the air.
"Gather"
The surroundings became quiet.
No sound could be heard.
Slowly, darkness started to spread from Ciaran's feet.
The darkness then began to climb up the trees that were surrounding him and without any warning, uncountable sounds started to resonate out of the darkness.
Once Ciaran's spell settled on its reachable area, the creatures that were making the sounds arose from within the darkness.
Thousands of crows and formless shadows all stared at the man who had his hand reached out in the air.
"Search for the young master"
All of the crows and shadows made a noise before they started to dissipate. The crows flew above and the formless shadows all went to search the ground.
Ciaran then brought his hand down and the darkness went back into his feet.
"Haah..." He breathed hard as he clutched his chest and he panted.
Using his powers took too much magic and stamina from him but considering the young master was nowhere to be found in the safe area, Ciaran needed to do so.
"Huff... Pier... where are you?" He spoke and silently hoped that Pier did not go out of the safety area of the village.
---
"Stupid vampire spilling coffee over my cloak!" Pier cursed in anger as he marched through the woods.
"Why can't he just shut up for a second?!" He wanted to actually stitch Hex's mouth with anything he could find but instead, he ended up pointing a sword directly at the vampire's throat.
"He deserved that anyway" He spoke as he rolled his eyes.
He did not want to see anyone from the village just because.
"I think I am at that teenager stage again where I become depressed and stressed out of nowhere," He spoke as the leaves were crushed under the boots that he wore.
"Well if I were then I guess I should seek help. People should not invalidate others' feelings, you know." He was already talking to himself and anyone who would see the young master would definitely think he was crazy.
He hummed as he continued to walk.
He did not know where he was going but all that he knew was that he wanted to be alone for the moment.
"Not that I'm being overly dramatic but sometimes, people need to be alone too"
He sighed as he found a tree where he could climb.
It was much smaller than the tree that held Ciaran's home so he can simply climb it using his wind magic. The Vampire Chief's home was just perched on top of an incredibly big tree that Pier had to constantly rely on Ciaran for them to climb.
"Mhm, this one's enough," He spoke as wind magic manifested on his palm. It formed into the first form it manifested which was the whip form.
He made the end of the whip attach to one of the large branches of the tree as if it were a tight rope used for mountain climbing.
"Giddy up!" He then started to climb the tree while pulling on the wind whip slowly.

He was still amazed how he can actually touch the condensed form of his wind whip when it was technically, wind.
"Pft"
He snickered at his own thought.
It was refreshing to be alone.
"Ah, no noisy vampires, no houses, nothing," He sighed when he reached the branch and he sat on it while he looked at the scenario below him.
The tree was higher than others but it was shorter than most so he was still not able to see the sky because the others blocked his view.
Sigh
Since he can't see what's above him, he simply decided to rest his back against the trunk and close his eyes.
"It's cold, good for sleeping," He mumbled as his tired eyes started to drift into dreamland.
Thud!
"Mmmm... no annoying things for now, please," He spoke as he comfortably rested with his arms crossed.
Thud!
Thud!
The loud noise continued to reverberate on his surroundings and it made the ground slightly shake.
"Huh?" He lazily opened his eyes.
"Who in the world would cause such chaos when a person is trying to sleep-"
However, he froze when he saw what was under the tree that he was resting on.
A pair and an extra one of giant bulging eyes that consisted of a stunning range of colors from red to a dark hue of black was staring at him.
"Hello...?" He spoke to the giant frog which had three eyes that were as tall as the tree that he was in.
However, the guest that disturbed his sleep seemed like it did not like that someone so small like an ant was also staring at it.
The frog immediately opened his mouth and Pier saw the stomach-wrenching scenario that was inside the frog's mouth.
Carcasses of smaller monsters, insects, and other things that have almost been disintegrated into pieces were rolled around with stomach juices and other acids to melt them down and serve as the giant frog's food.
Blargh!
Pier covered his mouth at the disgusting scent and the horrible stench that came out of the frog.
The giant frog's tongue immediately went out to grab the young master but Pier was faster.
He quickly jumped off the tree and assisted his feet with wind magic to alleviate him slightly and prevent a harmful impact to the ground.
Swoosh!
He landed with a slight gust of wind sounding from both of his feet.
The frog did not even hesitate to turn its head lower and Pier swore he could feel the hungry stare the large animal was giving him.
"Y-You're disgusting!" He spat as he dodged the tongue of the frog that went out to get him again.
His movements were light as a feather due to his magic.
The frog was very huge. Pier estimated that it would reach a quarter of the tree that Ciaran's home was perched on.
Croak~
The frog croaked as its front part bulged and then contracted and Pier had to contain the disgust from flowing out of him.
The huge monster then leaped from the ground. It brushed itself against a few leaves of the taller trees and Pier's eyes widened with how it looked while jumping.
'Fuck'
He cursed as he ran with all his might away from the direction where he predicted it would land.
THUD!
The ground violently shook as the giant frog with three eyes landed right behind Pier.
'Fucking asshole of a frog!'
He cursed as he formed a wind orb in his hand and directed it on the ground beside him. The wind orb left his hand and hit the ground creating strong gusts of wind and at the same time making him propel slightly towards the sideward from the ground.
The giant tongue then crushed the spot where he had just been standing.
"Leave me alone!" He yelled as he ran towards another direction that had bigger trees than the one he had just climbed on.
The giant frog croaked in response to his yells as if it was excited about another meal.
Huff...
He was starting to pant with all the running he was doing.
'Hurry!' He felt the sweat trickle down his forehead as he swiftly ran towards the trees.
Thud!
However, it seemed like the frog has predicted where he would be going because it landed right in front of the tree he was about to climb.
"Huff... haaah" He placed both of his hands on his knees as he panted and caught his breath.
"T-Timeout!" He spoke as he wiped the sweat off of his forehead.
Croak~
The frog croaked in response to his pleading.
"Yeah, timeout for a moment. I need to breathe," He spoke as he swatted the cloak that smelled like coffee from the incident earlier to cool himself.
It was very cold but with the way he was running for his life away from the enormous frog that had three eyes, he could not help but sweat profusely.
"Huff...' He panted while fanning himself.
It was starting to turn into a comedic scene with the frog just watching him while the tiny creature was cooling himself off while they were chasing around the area.
Croak!
The frog stomped one of its feet to the ground and the surroundings shook with the force.
"Can we rest for like, ten minutes or something?" He asked as he looked at the frog's eyes.
The three eyes all went in different directions and Pier wanted to laugh at how ridiculous it looked but seeing the situation he was in, all he did was stare as if it were some sort of clown that was trying to impress narcissistic children on a birthday party.
The frog did not respond as it opened its mouth and the tongue that was covered with saliva that produced a very bad stench started to roll out.
"Guess who's gonna get eaten?" He asked as he placed both of his hands up in surrender.
"I would not do that and leave if I were you," He warned with his final words to the frog.
However, the eyes of the frog all turned into crescent shapes as if it was mocking the small human who was threatening it to leave.
"Haah, you're very hardheaded despite being a frog. Frogs are supposed to have soft heads, you know?!" He spoke as he rolled his eyes while his hands were still up in the air.
"Well, I guess that ends our play for today, Mr. Froggy," He smiled as wind magic manifested in both of his palms and some of it went on his feet.
"Bye, Felicia!" He spoke and it was then
Hiss!
An extremely huge snake that was twice as long as the tree he climbed fell from the large tree the frog was standing in front of.
It opened its mouth and poison dripped down from the fangs that it bared.
Thud!
The snake's body fell to the ground but its mouth had completely encased the frog.
The fangs of the huge snake all were buried in the frog and neurotoxins started to be released.
Cro...ak~
The frog watched as Pier immediately ran away while it was being poisoned and swallowed by the snake.
Pier immediately went back to the tree he first climbed as he hid carefully so as to not get noticed by the snake that was busy swallowing the giant frog with three eyes.
"Good thing I noticed the skin shed under the tree," He spoke as he tried to catch his breath and calm himself down.
It was by pure coincidence that he saw the shed skin of the snake when he went into the area and he purposely talked loud as to disturb the snake and he also rested there in case some unknown creature decided to chase him, he would have the snake as his bodyguard.
"Haah, Guess who'd get eaten?" He whispered as he started to laugh like the final villain on some soap opera.
"HAHAHA!"
His laugh sounded so sinister and cunning at the same time that the person watching through a formless shadow's vision shivered in fear.
