《Changing The Course of Fate》Chapter 5 - Meeting Them

"Pier, the king has wished to meet with you." Everybody present at the table immediately stopped what they are doing including Pier who was about to eat a spoonful of his food.
"Can I know why, father?" Pier asked. The headmaster continued to eat as if everything around him was normal. He had a nonchalant look on his face.
"I do not know the reason as well. However, the king did mention something about missing his favorite child." Pier could see his father shrugging his shoulders. His two brothers also started biting their lips at the mention of 'favorite child'.
The House of Masters and the Royal Family had been standing arm in arm for centuries and even before the kingdom grew into what it currently is right now. According to popular books and academic texts, it was also said that as the Royal Family had been blessed by the Sun God, the House of Masters had been blessed by the Moon goddess.
Originally, both of these households held the same amount of power to rule the Taron Kingdom but the nobles of the previous centuries opposed such an idea and were instead split into factions.
These factions supported either the Belmiunde or the Lumiere Household. As both families, more specifically the Belmiunde household, do not want to continue the splitting factions between the lower and upper nobles, they decided to submit the full reign of the kingdom to the Lumiere household which now resulted in the Lumiere household becoming the Royal Family of the Taron Kingdom.
But even though the Royal Family had full control over the kingdom, they still considered the Belmiunde household as their sworn household and had been eternally indebted to them. This resulted in the Belmiunde Household becoming the only house to surpass the upper nobles' positions but having lesser power and influence than the Royal Family.
So, in short, the Belmiunde and the Lumiere family had been close confidants ever since the kingdom started and they are considered the foundations of it. Dukes and Marquis Households are considered as lower positions than the Belmiunde household but the Belmiunde household does not come into equal nor surpass the influence and power of the Lumiere family.
And now the head of the Lumiere family, the king, wants to see the current young master, Pier.
Pier sighed at the sudden announcement of his father but nodded his head nevertheless. The foreboding worry that suddenly appeared in his chest made him uncomfortable.
He continued eating the delicious meal made by the head chefs and decided not to worry about that matter while he was eating.
---
Pier stood in front of his dresser. His newly ordered clothes had arrived yesterday and he was more than excited to wear them.
'I do not have this kind of excitement with clothes before but I guess the previous Pier's love for fashion remained in this body,' He thought. Maybe the addition of styling the new body he resided in was also a factor in the way he was all up and giddy about receiving the clothes.
He was currently deciding what to wear tomorrow for his time with the king.
As he carefully selected his clothes, he was scanning the original Pier's memories.
The current king was always known to adore and treasure the Belmiunde Family's eldest son, Pier. He considered him his child and was known to vouch for Pier and his eldest son, Asher, the Crown Prince for their marriage and wishes for the Belmiunde Family to merge with them and become full royalty. This was the reason why none of the citizens opposed Pier's constant chasing of the crown prince because the king wanted to do this also.

But Asher did not want to knot the ties with Pier because he had a woman he loved. Pier kept chasing Asher and the latter keeps on pushing him back. This had been going on for over a few years now and Eliam felt kind of bad about how Pier was holding back the relationship progress between the crown prince and the woman he loves.
'Maybe this time I should let everyone I no longer wish to be with him?' He did not really want to become acquainted with the Crown Prince either. Sensing all the memories that he gained about the man made his spine shiver for unknown reasons.
Pier made his resolve and focused back on choosing what suit to wear. He held two suits in each hand as he stood in front of the mirror as he contemplated what to wear.
---
"The official carriage of the Belmiunde Household has arrived!" a servant carrying a piece of horn-like equipment announced through it. The other servants, maids, and butlers that worked in the royal palace turned their heads towards the entrance of the royal place. Continuous sounds of awe and envy resonated throughout the entire workplace as an extremely luxurious carriage tied to two equally elegant-looking black horses entered the palace gates.
"Young Master Pier is here again."
"I'm pretty sure he's going to cause another ruckus inside the palace!"
"I feel sorry for His Highness for having such a troublesome young master chasing after him."
The servants whispered to each other as the luxurious carriage stopped at the main entrance of the Throne Room. Everyone's gaze remained glued and unwavering as the coachman opened the carriage door and a pale hand grabbed the doorframe.
They all gasped and it resonated throughout the palace as the young master whom they have not seen for almost a month revealed himself.
Clear blue eyes scanned the surroundings before his feet landed on the carriage's steps and then on the well-cleaned ground beneath it. His elegant-looking white suit with black embroideries on the sleeves and the sides fluttered as a gust of cool wind blew past him. His once semi-long hair now cleanly trimmed on the sides made him look more dignified than any other nobles the servants have seen throughout the time they worked in the Royal Palace. His family crest, that of an ancient bird with wings spread wide, shone brightly under the sun.
"Young master, allow me to escort you to the doors of the palace," A knight with silver armor and a dark blue cape lowered his head before the young noble.
"Please lead the way, captain." He smiled gently at the generous proposition of the knight. The people looking at the scenario could not put their heads clearly as to what is currently happening. The young master that used to ignore the captain of the House of Master's knights and rush to the door of the throne place now wore a white suit with black embroideries and waited for the knight escorts to lead him.
Perfectly contrasting what he used to do before.
The captain of the knights proudly led the way with a dignified expression as butlers and maids rushed to cover their young master with an umbrella. The scene made the servants raise their eyebrows in amazement.
"Hey, don't you think the young master looks and feels a little different...?"
"I know!"
"He looks calmer now than before!"
Pier heard some of the whispers and he facepalmed himself inside his mind. What the original Pier did in the previous years left a bad impression on the workers of the royal palace and it made the current Pier cringe so much.

'And now I have to correct all of those... Live life to the fullest my ass, you did that before but in a wrong way.' He knew cursing the original owner of the body he transmigrated into was unpleasant but he could not help it because what Pier did before was embarrassing and wrong.
The Knight Captain turned to the right before bowing his head once more. In front of Pier was a door adorned with gold patterns.
'The palace sure is rich for them to waste gold like this.' He wanted to touch them but hesitated to do so. It would probably be weird for someone like him to openly gape at a door with gold patterns.
He sighed but fortunately, no one heard.
---
"Young master Pier has arrived, your majesty." The king's eyes widened in anticipation as he leisurely sat on the throne.
"Let him in," the palace doors opened and a red carpet revealed itself in front of Pier. The young master gulped in anxiousness as he clenched his hands. He started walking towards the throne and a new batch of gazes landed on him. However, he did not waver and walked forward with elegance. The sound of his shoes stepping on the marble-covered ground was so loud that it screamed perfection.
'Calm your invisible horses, Pier,' he chanted inside his head as the nervousness was nerve-wracking.
Once he reached the throne, Pier lowered his head and placed his hand on his chest.
"I greet the current sun of the Taron Kingdom, His Majesty, The King." Pier gulped once more as he recited these lines. He stayed up late practicing what to say in greeting the king.
Both of the king's eyebrows raised as he looked at Pier in amazement. The young noble's actions made him think of the royalties in the Empire of the Southern Continent.
'Crap, did I mess it up? I only did what I remembered in Pier's memory along with the novels I've read before,' Pier contemplated. He was starting to have cold sweat under the king's gaze as the man was still silent.
"Raise your head, my child." Pier raised his head and looked straight into the king's eyes. The king could feel his chest be enveloped with warmth while gazing at the young noble.
'He looks just like his mother,' King Henry inwardly thought.
"It is my pleasure, your majesty. It is a pleasure for me to have been given the chance to meet with his majesty once more," Pier said as he smiled at the king.
King Henry's face was full of authority. Despite his age being in his mid-forties, he still looked like the typical handsome king in the novels he had read. His long red hair showed signs of the utmost care and his calm demeanor spoke confidence in multiple languages.
"I am grateful for you to have also agreed to meet me on such short notice, Pier," He also smiled at the young noble in front of him. King Henry stood up and along with his staff started walking down the throne to greet Pier.
Once the king reached the bottom of the steps, he placed his hand on Pier's head. The latter could feel the warmness of the king's hands and he felt a sense of comfort.
'So this is what it's like to be blessed by a sun god...' He was amazed because it was his first time experiencing magic itself.
Everybody who saw the scene both nobles and palace servants alike could not help but stare in awe and envy. The king that they all loved was looking at the young noble with an expression full of happiness.
"Prepare the necessities. Pier and I shall head to the sun palace right after!" His loud voice echoed throughout the entirety of the room and the servants respectfully bowed their heads before scurrying away to prepare the garden of the Sun Palace.
"Please head first to the garden, Pier. I will be there after discussing a few things with my people," King Henry smiled warmly at Pier and called for a servant to guide Pier to the Sun Palace.
He nodded his head and followed the servant who will lead the way.
"May I ask for permission to touch your palm, young master Pier?" The servant asked and Pier's eyebrows scrunched in confusion. The servant mistook this for anger and instantly felt fear in his body.
"I-I will cast haste magic on the both of us so we will reach the Sun Palace faster, young master," he explained and Pier's confusion cleared up. This allowed the servant to sigh in relief as well.
"Okay." Pier gave his hand and the servant carefully touched his palm as if he was afraid to touch or even be near Pier at all.
Once the servant's fingers touched Pier's palm, he felt a surge of unknown force inside his body.
"Please follow me, young master" Pier was bewildered at what happened and clenched his fist at the feeling
Magic.
---
Pier was walking towards the Sun Palace with the servant leading him. The Sun Palace was pretty far from the throne room but with haste magic cast upon them, they were able to easily travel from to the place in no time.
Once they reached the Sun Palace, the servant respectfully bowed before excusing himself. A butler that was specially assigned to mend the Sun Palace greeted the young master.
"I greet the young master. The King had prepared the garden for you. Please follow me," he curtly spoke before walking inside. Pier followed him without question and inspected the entirety of the place. The place was the largest building among the royal buildings since this is where the king usually resides. Compared to the throne room, the walls of the Sun Palace are adorned with gold, and the floor was covered in high-quality marbles.
'This is more luxurious than the Western Area of the Belmiunde Household but the main mansion could also compare to this.' He hummed inside his head while his gaze did not cease to wander.
The Belmiunde Household's wealth is incomparable to any other nobles in the kingdom. Dukes and Marquis Households who gathered enormous wealth through businesses and connections could not even compare to half of the Belmiunde Family's wealth since it is also almost at par with the Royal family's respective treasure.
Once they reached the door to the garden, the butler bowed his head before excusing himself like the servant who brought Pier into the Sun Palace.
When Pier got out, the path led into a gigantic glass house that was connected to the Sun Palace. Inside were trees, plants, flowers, and things that you would usually find in a garden. The Marble steps led onto the middle of the garden where a pavilion stood. The luxurious building stood beside the equally luxurious fountain that was spewing out water. Fishes of various kinds swam in the pond that was created by the fountain.
"This place is nice." He said without thinking.
"It is." Pier flinched at the sudden response to his nonchalant talking
He looked at the voice and it led into the pavilion. There sat two young men who were probably the same age as him. When his eyes met the person who just talked, his breath suddenly got stuck in his throat.
"S-Sir Raphael." The name was incredibly familiar yet foreign in his tongue. It was Raphael Sentinio of the Sentinio Duchy. What Pier saw in his memories along with Raphael was ... not pleasant to say the least.
"It has been a while, Young Master Pier." he gave his usual handsome smile, and Pier could not help but grimace at the noble in front of him.
'If Raphael is here then that means...'
He flinched once more when he saw the other person beside Raphael Sentinio. It was Asher Lumiere, the Crown Prince.
