《Changing The Course of Fate》Chapter 2 - Western Area

"Remove all of the clothes with bright colors," Pier spoke as he pointed to the closet filled with the cringe-worthy clothes he owned.
"W-What are we going to do with them, young master?" The horrified maid asked him. It had been three days as well since he fired the previous maids and the news started spreading around the land they owned like wildfire. The newly hired maids are those who underwent strict regulations and those he personally picked.
---
"What did you do to our maids, Pier?!" The vile woman asked him. Pier blew on his finger as he had just finished cleaning them.
"I fired them," He nonchalantly replied.
"Why did you do that?! I'm going to report this to your father!" Veins were starting to show on the headmistress' forehead as she seethed in anger while Pier remained unbothered. 'Ha as if that'd do anything,' he thought.
One good thing Eliam liked about Pier's father is that he knows how to handle situations well and he knows how to respond to certain circumstances. He would do the same if he were in the young master's shoes.
"Mockery against their masters, failure to comply with their duties, and many more. I do hope you know the punishment suitable for such disgraceful actions, stepmother. The heads of their families should've been hanging by the mansion's walls right now but instead, I gave them a lighter punishment." She couldn't seem to believe his words as she stared at Pier. Her eyes were full of anger and hostility.
"Now if I were you, I wouldn't question my own decisions. I am an individual raised by the headmaster to represent this household and I know things that I should do. Stop acting as if you're the one who received the education needed to retain this family," Pier told her without hesitation and walked past her leaving the woman gaping at the responses Pier had given her.
It felt good for him, to be honest.
---
"Give the clothes to those who need them. I'm done wearing those." Pier then adjusted the buttons on the coat he wore and then sipped on the teacup filled with warm tea.
He was staring out the window when he caught a glimpse of some smoke rising in the air from a distance.
The scenario caught Pier's interest and as he was about to stand from his chair, knocks could be heard against the door of his room.
"Come in!" He yelled as he once more reached for the teacup while another maid poured tea over it. He wasn't that much of a fan of teas but it's a good activity to spend time while he was thinking about the next things he should do while scanning the original Pier's memory.
"Good morning, Young Master Pier, Lady Morata has arrived and she's ready to take your measurements for your new clothes," The maid said wherein he stood up from his seat and adjusted the tie he was wearing.
Glancing in the mirror once more, he ensured that his appearance is good. Eliam still could not believe that Pier is this good-looking. 'I am undoubtedly good-looking in my past life but the person reflected in the mirror right now is on a higher level in terms of attractiveness. Pier simply does not know how to utilize his charm.' He even squinted his eyes as if evaluating the reality right in front of him.

As he approached the lady said to take his measurements for the new clothes, Pier could feel the maids and butlers staring at him as he walked down the stairs.
"Young Master Pier did change in the past days, don't you think?"
"I know! He even refused to go with the headmaster to the royal palace!"
"The way he walks right now is so dignified and elegant!"
He wanted to laugh at their whispers but he kept it to himself. It is a good starting point for a new beginning in his new life. However, Pier was still at the first step in making the original Pier's miserable life an enjoyable one.
When he reached the receiving room, a woman that was roughly the same age as him greeted Pier. Her long, sophisticated dress made him wonder if she was feeling bothered by dragging such a garment around was the first thing he noticed.
"Good day, Young Master Pier," she spoke with formality yet one could feel the underlying annoyance she hid. From Pier's memory, this woman became annoyed at him after he rejected multiple suit proposals because they did not suit his taste. Pier smiled at her.
He understood her sentiments because if he was wearing her shoes, he might've cursed the original Pier loudly.
"Good day, Lady Morata. Please do take my measurements for the new clothes I have requested." Pier went directly to the point and their 'usual' business immediately commenced.
After taking his measurements, she handed Pier a catalog of the different styles he wanted. However, when he opened the catalog, the suits present were distasteful. If the original Pier were in this body right now, he would have sparkling eyes at the bright colors of the suits and clothes available.
"Hmmm... Perhaps could you provide me with another catalog, Lady Morata? I know that these were the previous styles and colors I used to wear but I wanted to try a different style right now," he spoke in a carefree yet respectful tone without needing to offend her. She seems surprised at the sudden request but she did not question it either.
"I understand, Young Master Pier. Could you tell me the specific designs and colors that you wanted for the new clothes?" She asked. Pier liked her. She knows how to pique the interest of her customers.
"I wanted to try clothes that have more of a relaxing color. I do not want colors that are too vibrant but more on the calmer side. I also wish for the clothes to not contain jewelry that would stand out like a sore thumb." They were vague but Pier knew her skills would be able to fill in the necessary details of his request.
He was not that good in arts back in college so he explained the details to her in a simplistic way that would be easier for both of them to understand. It looks like she caught on to the young master's descriptions as she rummaged through one of the boxes that were discarded on the side.
"How about the recommendations on this one, young master?" she handed me a new catalog and as I opened the booklet, different clothes with the exact description I said were plastered on each page.

"This one's nice... This one also. I would also like to buy this one but can you change the style to a more..."
---
"What's with the group of people fighting over the western area?" Pier asked one of the maids that were currently removing the old clothes I told them to discard.
"Western area? Oh! Perhaps do you mean the training area, young master?" She replied. He nodded his head and she understood that the young man further wanted to know more about it.
"The Western Area is where the mage scholars of this House are training to be the Kingdom's defenders, young master. The Belmiunde family produces the best scholars in the kingdom's history so the headmaster dedicated the Western Area for training them." It was noticeable with how proud she was when explaining and Pier took note of that as he nodded once more. When Eliam searched through Pier's memory, he could not find any scenes regarding the Western Area.
The world he was living in right now has magic as its foundation and it can be seen anywhere.
The original Pier did not have any interest in magic; thus, he did not make any efforts in visiting the Western Area. However, the Pier right now had a feeling that visiting the Western Area would be a good decision. 'Pier was just too busy sucking up to the Crown Prince.' Eliam sighed in disappointment.
"Prepare my outdoor clothes. Choose the one with a lighter color," he said while closing the book he was reading.
The maid bowed and started scanning the almost empty dresser but then eventually paused when she could not find anything Pier was asking for.
"Forgive me, young master, but I could not find any outdoor suits that are to your liking. All that's left here is a dark blue-colored suit and the others are too bright based on the young master's standards," she said apologetically.
Pier mentally facepalmed himself at the news and went to the dresser to see the suits the maid had mentioned.
"I'll just pick this one, I guess." He shrugged while holding the dark blue suit with small white patterns adorned to its shoulders and sides. Pier did not like the color blue before so it was the last one to be taken out because it was placed at the very back of the dresser.
"Please prepare a bath for me as well," he said and the maid bowed before going directly to the bathing area of my room.
"I shall call on the butlers to assist you in your bathe, young master," she said before closing the door.
Pier suddenly felt his face flush with embarrassment at the mention of the butlers. He did not expect that there would be assistants when bathing but overall, it was a relaxing experience because they're good at it.
The thought of someone else touching his body made him unknowingly shiver.
---
As he was wearing the dark blue outdoor suit, Pier checked himself in front of the mirror
He looked really good. He can see a lot of good-looking individuals, especially in the maids and the butlers but Pier's looks outshine them. If he were to compare his old body and Pier's then he'd probably look like a used rag beside a handkerchief of the highest quality even though he knew he was good-looking in his past life.
The dark blue suit complemented his blue eyes and the white complexion gave that feeling of comfortableness.
After falling in love with himself for a few more minutes, Pier decided to head down and head towards the front door. When he reached the receiving room, his gaze was met by an individual sitting across from one of his brothers.
Pier smiled at the person whom he guessed was a young nobleman and the latter returned the favor. He did not want to talk with anyone acquainted with his stepbrothers so as soon as Pier finished greeting him, the young master immediately went outside and started heading towards the Western Area.
---
"Was that your brother?" The young gentleman asked.
"He is," Redon replied with irritation noticeable in his voice.
"I heard a lot of things about him"
"Everyone talks about him. What's new?" The young Belmiunde did not like his brother one bit and it was evident with how vicious his voice sounded.
"Heard he lacks even the basic etiquette, but what I just saw was the exact opposite," the nobleman said while laughing. Redon's face became more annoyed at his friend that was complimenting his stepbrother.
Redon did not have any clue as to what happened to his immature stepbrother to suddenly change. The way Pier acted suddenly after falling ill for days became a shocker that his mother was not able to win against him during breakfast.
"Whatever, let's not talk about him. He still annoys me," he said as they both got up and went towards the Eastern area to train their swords.
---
"Young master, please take us with you!" An old but newly hired butler said as Pier continued walking towards the Western Area
"No, I'll go alone," he said as he followed the brick path that leads to the group of young people fighting. The cerulean skies were filled with astounding clouds that covered the sun's rays so he wasn't that bothered walking outside.
Pier was happy that the newly hired butlers and maids are attentive to their work but he never imagined they would be this persistent.
Due to irritation, Pier stopped in his tracks and the butlers and maids following him stopped as well.
"I said, I'll go alone," he said with a tone of finality. Unable to oppose their young master's order, they only watched as their young master started walking once more
"Surely young master Pier won't fire us, won't he?" One of the young maids asked
Pier heard the statement which almost made him laugh. He was glad for the newly hired attendants.
