《Dark Saviour ✔》Chapter 18: Under the Full Moon

Even tied down, she was intimidating.

Zero had infiltrated a compound that supplied Reaper and helped him make the wolf suppressant drug he used on her. However, this small gang wasn't the only manufacturer in this vast world. Zero needed to find the supplier, and to do that, she needed to begin her hunt once again.

She sat on an old chair in the middle of the warehouse, her arms tied behind her. There was a bulb hanging over her, which flickered every now and then, but even without its help she could see the sixteen men around her. Some were wary of her and some gloated that they successfully captured her.

Zero didn't attempt to break herself free... yet. She had no need for these thugs around her. She wanted the leader of this group. And right about now, he or she should have gotten the message of her arrival and would stupidly make their way to her. Only then, Zero would make her move and attack.

"Is it true?" A man mustered the courage and spoke. The others shushed him, but he still insisted to continue. "Is it true that you came back from the dead?"

Zero lifted her head and her long hair followed with her. She knew from under her lashes that her blue eyes had gone silver as the moon. The men around her inched back even though she was clearly the one tied down. She didn't answer him, she didn't need to. She would let the world imagine stories about her return and let them scare themselves with their tales.

Suddenly, the far garage door opened and three cars rushed inside the warehouse. Zero knew then that the leader had arrived. And she was proven right, when a fat geezer got out of the car with a tailored suit on, his neck and wrists were heavy with gold and so were his stumpy fingers. The man had sunglasses on even though it was dark out and around them.

Zero rolled her eyes and hoped he didn't get too close to her. She didn't want his stench ruining the leather of her jacket.

"So, you dared to trespass on my territory," his voice was thick and drawled, it was clear that he was a heavy smoker.

Abruptly, a phone rang in the dark.

"Hold on, it's mine," were Zero's first words. "Answer it, will you-"

"Er-" the man stupidly enough picked up the phone off the table and put it on speaker near her.

"Zero, sweetheart," a charming voice streamed through, that made her smile right away. It was her mate. "When will you be coming back?"

"In a few minutes," said Zero and her captors gaped.

"No, you won't!" The man yelled shaking all the gold dripping off his beefy neck.

"Who's that?" asked Severin. "Are you with another man, honey?"

"Just someone I'm going to kill," said Zero.

"Elijah is with you, right?" Severin asked.

"Who the hell is Elijah?" The people around her asked.

A figure strode out of the dark and crept behind the sloth of a leader. "Boo-" the fat man's eyes bulged out and Elijah had his arms around his neck holding him hostage. His goons didn't know what to do except back away.

Zero loosened her hands out of the ropes and got to her feet. She put the phone on the chair. "Just give me a minute, honey," she announced.

Severin, on the other side of the line, stood hearing the sound of struggle and screams. "Our guests will be arriving soon."

"I won't be late!" shouted Zero.

"I know, you're very punctual despite killing people all the time."

"I would never be late for this," she said.

Severin smiled- she could feel it. "Honey, doesn't it feel like killing Reaper's gang blessed our wedding," he jested.

Zero chuckled at that. She grabbed her phone and put it to her ear; "Give me a second, Severin," she said before she went to where Elijah held down their target.

"I'm not telling you shit," he spat at her.

Zero looked into the man's pitiful eyes. "Then you die," she said before she took out her gun and shot his head.

He gaped and cried out in fear, only to realize that none of the bullets met his head, she had tricked him. "I'm telling you, I don't know anything," he said.

She looked at Elijah. "This one doesn't have any ammo," she said. Elijah took her gun and passed his to her. "Thank you."

"Look, I only do what my bosses tell me," he said hastily.

"I want names," said Zero.

The man shook his head and his chains too. "I don't know names," he said.

"Where's the next hideout from this one?" Elijah asked then.

The man hesitated before he gave in; "I only know one other and it's in New Orleans. I told you what you wanted, so let me free-"

Zero released the trigger and the next five bullets met the man's skull and Elijah the body fall on the floor near her feet. She grabbed the phone from her pocket. "I'm done," she told Severin. "I'll be home soon."

"See you at the altar," he teased before he cut the phone.

Zero walked to the front gates and Elijah joined her side. "So, is the next mission to New Orleans?" he asked her.

Zero looked out into the dark street and the cloudy night sky. "No," she said. "The next mission is to London."

Elijah looked at her confused. "Why London?" he asked.

"Vacation," she said. "I'm getting married after all and in desperate need of some pampering." Elijah peeked a smile as they made their way to separate motorcycles.

Zero put her helmet on before she stretched her leg over the bike that Severin gifted her. She turned the engine on and let the roar of the bike bring excitement to her heart. She released the brake and off they both went down the long road back home again.

There was still time before midnight hit, but Zero couldn't help but anticipate when the moon would reveal itself.

Would Maya come to her wedding? she questioned as she rode home. Zero didn't want to disappoint herself by thinking that maybe her goddess would arrive.

Even though, she told Severin to keep the wedding small, it definitely wasn't the case when she arrived at their house. The whole area was bustling with people getting a large tent set up in the yard and hundreds of chairs were being set up.

Zero drove down the path and parked in front of the garage, when her eyes caught Tom and Wayne coordinating the massive white roses with the golden drapes.

"Wow, Severin wasn't kidding when he said that he wanted a big wedding," Elijah said.

Zero removed her helmet and caught the multiple statues and ice sculptures too. There was a chocolate fountain near the massive bar that was being loaded up for all the guests.

"Oh god," she brooded.

Elijah snickered behind her, which earned him a glare from her. "Hey, don't glare at me," he said. "You're the one that gave him the freedom to do this all."

Zero pushed her hair from over her shoulder. "I know," she muttered.

She walked past Elijah into her busy house, that was lively with hundreds of employees in black suits and dresses getting the house ready for the night. Even though, the wedding was outside, the house was still decorated for the occasion. That was Severin for you, he was extravagant no matter the event.

"Zero!" A boisterous voice called out for her and she didn't even need to turn to know who it was. Wayne Salvatore ran to her with open arms and he grabbed her with excitement bubbling around him. She was squeezed in his arms and she couldn't help but laugh at him.

He pulled back and she finally saw his indigo eyes. "You need to get cleaned up," he said. "I'm excited to see you in your dress."

"I was just heading up there now," she told him.

Wayne turned to Elijah. "You get going too," he said. "I put your suit in your room-" Wayne turned towards the door- "Tom! Son!" Tom heard his father's voice and looked back. "Come here!" Tom came and he saw them then and smiled. "Help Elijah out with his suit."

"Sure," Tom said.

"I'm fine," Elijah interjected, but Tom was already pulling him upstairs.

Wayne hooked his arm over Zero's. "I'll walk you," he said and they went to her meditation room that was now set up for this day, since her bedroom was a little too small.

Wayne opened the door for her and they walked inside to where Maya's sculpture sat. She was glad that Severin chose this room for her, it felt appropriate. There was a large mirror standing on the side and a table with champagne, cupcakes and chocolates. Although, Zero's eyes went to the large package wrapped in white laid out on the counter.

Zero was lying if she said that she wasn't a little nervous now. She never dreamed of this day in her life, never planned it nor did she think it would ever happen. But here she was, standing in front of a wedding dress that was made for her.

"What are you thinking?" Wayne asked.

Zero felt a smile on her face, it was happening a lot nowadays. "I was thinking that your son is too good for me," she admitted.

Wayne chuckled. "If he was here he would disagree," he said.

Zero turned and sat on the table. "Are you really okay with this?" she asked.

"This is your hundredth time asking, Zero," he said, "and my answer never changed."

Zero met her friend's warm gaze, that undoubtedly loved her just like his son did. She reached the chain that hung around her neck and pulled it out from under her suit. A long chain exposed and the ring Severin gave her hung on it. A single oval shaped diamond sat on a silver band, it twinkled in the light as a baby blue sapphire. She took it off the chain and pushed it over her finger, it was heavier than she remembered.

"It looks beautiful on you," said Wayne.

Zero put her hand on his and squeezed it. "Thank you," she said.

Wayne tilted his head. "For what?" he asked.

"For accepting someone like me in your family," she tried so hard not to let her voice tremble, but it was hard when all she saw was warmth in Wayne's eyes. He never judged her for her past, never doubted her and never let anyone tarnish her name. She wasn't anything to him yet he treated her like his own.

Wayne put his warm hand on her cheek and tears welled up in both their eyes. "You were already a part of my family when you saved me," he said before he hugged her. "You're a daughter of the Salvatore household, so don't ever think you're alone now."

Zero hugged him back. "Sorry, I'm ruining your suit with my stupid tears," she sniffled.

Wayne wiped her cheeks for her. "And if Severin ever treats you wrong, you come straight to me, I'll set him straight," he said.

Zero laughed now despite the tears. "He would never treat me wrong," she said. "He's too sweet for that."

Suddenly, the large doors burst open.

"Zero! Why aren't you dressed yet?" astounded Veronica Bacardi, her thick brunette hair spilled down her back in bouncy curls. She adorned a pink gown that was long and elegant.

Zero quickly wiped her tears and faced Veronica. "I was just about to take a shower," she said.

Czar joined them too, he held his hand out to Wayne. "Congratulations on the union, Mr. Salvatore," he said politely.

"Oh Czar, you were always so tense," Wayne chided. He went over and hugged him. "Let's go take some pictures while Veronica helps Zero get ready." He dragged the poor man away who was always camera shy.

"Your guests will be arriving any minute now," Veronica chided as she raked her sharp gaze over Zero's appearance. "Your hair isn't even combed. Oh god, is that blood on your shirt?"

Zero's eyes widened. "No, it's um- ketchup," she lied.

Veronica put her hands on her hips. "Don't lie to me," she said. "Now, go take a shower and I'll do your hair and makeup."

Zero went without delay and even in the shower Veronica was nagging away telling her to wash repeatedly under her nails and get the blood off her hands. Zero would've done that regardless, but it was fun to be scolded like a child.

Zero finished off the shower and put a robe on before she stepped out again. Her eyes immediately went to the windows where there was no sign of the moon despite the dark sky blanketing over the property.

"It'll be out soon," Veronica reassured. "Don't you worry."

Zero came over to the chair where Veronica had set up everything. She didn't know what to expect, but thankfully, Veronica was not only quick with her hands but also skilled. She had tied up Zero's long hair in under an hour, adorning it with roses and glittery hair pins.

From the loud commotion outside, Zero knew right away who had arrived. The doors burst open and the Centauri pack ran inside.

"You guys never knock," schooled Hailey who was standing with her mate. Both of them matching in red. They were quite the lovely pair and their son was in his father's arms with a suit on too.

"We don't need to because Zero loves us," said Viola as she ran over in tall heels that matched her violet dress.

Zero got up from the chair and Viola had already wrapped her tight in her embrace. "Glad you guys could make it," she said.

"Are you kidding," astounded Viola. "We'd never miss this!"

Azura followed after and she looked like quite the badass in a velvet black suit. "Congratulations, Zero," she said as she hugged her too.

"You aren't even dressed," astonished Vincent who came in after with the Drakov twins.

"I was just about to be when all of you came," said Zero.

Vincent did not approve, since he was always fashionable ready for any occasion. Even now, he was dressed in a tailored black tuxedo. River and Ryder stood in dark suits too that made it harder to tell them apart, even for her.

"Good you guys came in time," said Veronica. "I'm going to need all the help I can get."

"And we're here to help," beamed Hailey as she came over and hugged Zero and Veronica too.

"Can't do it without champagne though," added Azura who was already pouring a glass for everyone.

Klaus walked into the room with King and Bone by his side. All of them are perfectly dressed in dark tuxedos and it was only King that didn't have a tie or vest. He wore a stylish suit with a white shirt unbuttoned showing his tattoos.

"Congratulations, Zero," Klaus came up to her with a reassuring hug. "Don't be nervous, everything will be perfect for tonight."

"I hope so too," she hugged him back.

King came up hugged Zero with Klaus between them. "Congrats," he said. "Never thought someone as scary as you would get married. Don't kill the poor guy."

Zero smacked King's shoulder and pushed him off her. "Go before I kill you," she growled.

Bone was standing tall with a bag in his hand. "I brought a little gift for you," he said privately.

Zero looked down in the bag and saw a bouquet of white roses. They were blooming vibrantly in the bag and their aroma wafted calming her down. She looked at Bone's kind eyes. "Thank you," she said. "They are beautiful."

"Congratulations and I hope you have a wonderful night," he said before he moved back to King's side.

"Alright, everyone calm down, we don't want to freak out the bride," announced Sabrina who appeared brimming with anticipation.

"We won't freak her out," added Ryder. "Besides, I think we're all pretty calm right now."

"I'm not, I'm ready to party all night," said Azura.

"Me too!" exclaimed Viola.

"Sorry about them," Gabriel said to Zero. "They are insane and I can't stop them once they're set loose."

"We heard that!" shouted Vincent.

"You were supposed to idiot," remarked Ryder, and they started to bicker back and forth.

Gabriel and Sabrina were both dressed to perfection, standing tall as if they stepped out of a magazine cover. The alpha of the Centauri pack wore a dark navy suit, which popped against the golden gown that his stunning mate wore tonight.

They came up to Zero together. "Congratulations," Sabrina beamed a smile and hugged her. "We're so happy for you."

"Thank you," she said.

"And don't worry, I will get them out of your way," Gabriel indicated to the mess behind him.

Zero downed the champagne in the glass.

"Alright, all of you, out the door," Gabriel warned and ushered the crowd out. But of course, the ladies all stayed who were eager to help.

However, the peace didn't last long, when the doors opened again and this time the Iron Blood pack arrived. Isaiah and Ashley's daughter Evelyn ran inside, Zero bent down to accept the child's eager hug.

"Oh, you almost toppled me over, Evelyn," jested Zero.

Evelyn's small arms looped around her neck. "I heard you're getting married and get to wear a princess dress," she seemed more excited about the dress.

"Do you want to see the dress, Evelyn?" Sabrina came up and took her to see the gown and from the child's scream it was clear that she approved.

Ashley walked up to Zero in a radiant silver dress. "I can't believe you're getting married," she astounded before she hugged her. "I'm so happy for you and Severin."

"Thanks, Ashley," she said.

Isaiah stood tall in a grey suit that matched his steel gaze. "Congrats," he said. "Are you nervous?"

"Not really," said Zero. "I just want to see him already."

Isaiah peeked a smile. "Trust me, I get it," he said as he looked over at his wife and daughter. "I was the same."
