Guess who got lucky? Me!
Turns out the class reunion of 2014 is today which is the class that Maria was in! I thought I was going to have to pretend to be a part of it but it's actually not hard to get in at all.
" Hi can I ask you some questions about Maria Ross? "
I ask some random girl and her smile turns into a frown.
" Sure I mean honestly I don't think that girl got what she deserved, no one even through her a funeral all she got was one news report on TV and then they did God knows what with her body. "
" Did you know Maria? "
" Not personally we would speak occasionally just to make small talk but we were never close she had a small group of friends, she didn't seem very trust worthy of others but she was nice. "
" Do you know who her main friends were? "
" She mostly hung around people her same age like Anna and Quinn over there. "
She says pointing to two girls talking.
" Alright thank you for your time. "
I walk over to the two girls talking and when I walk up they look at me confused.
" Hi can I ask you some questions about Maria Ross? "
" About time for someone to investigate. "
" Are you saying you don't think she killed herself? "
" I think she did but I think someone is the reason behind it I mean she was the happiest girl we knew and then one day she just kinda disappeared into thin air, next thing we know we go to her house to visit and walk in on her family dead. "
" You were the ones who found them? "

" Yeah we were it wasn't a pretty scene or smell, when we found them I think it had been days after they had been killed but we didn't find her body and she wasn't old enough to move out we never found out where she went. "
" What do you think happened to her family? "
" I don't think the killer freaked out and killed them I think it was his or her plan because I think the killer wanted Maria for some reason, I mean it just doesn't seem very logical why would you kill everyone but Maria? Clearly he or she knew they were home and took them out then took her. "
" Why would that person kill them instead of just taking her? "
" That's easy, her parents and brother were the only family she had the killer killed them because if he or she would have just taken her the parents would notice and call the cops so it was better to get rid of them ahead of time. "
" You seem like you've been thinking about this for a long time. "
" She was my friend....of course I wonder what happened. "
" But wait if you think someone took her why didn't you call the cops? "
" I did but I was just a teenager to them and I had no evidence but I can tell you this the girl that was hanging on the flag pole with cuts all over her was not the same Maria this school saw. Something changed her or maybe someone. "
" Do you know if she knew anyone named Blake? "
" Yeah he was her brothers friend and he came over all the time, she had a major crush on him we would always tease her for having a crush on a middle schooler. "
She gives me a sad smile at the memory.
" Okay thank you for your time. "
I go to walk away but she stops me.
" Do you think someone's behind this? "
She ask me.
" Sadly yes. "
" Well if you figure out who make sure to beat that son of a bitch for me. "
" Will do "
I can't believe that Blake knew Maria, could he really be behind all of this?

Margrave's Divinity (Rewrite)
Power always comes with a price. Seventeen years ago, obsidian towers thousands of feet tall erupted from the earth near the world’s population centers. Strange magic accompanied their appearance—powerful and inexplicable abilities granted to lucky humans, called Embers for the burning in their eyes. Lyle isn’t lucky, though. When the recently-unemployed college dropout finally manages to get his hands on a Cinder, he is utterly disappointed to find that he will never be an Ember like his father or brother. Before he even has time to process his failure, a strange Ember shoves him through a tear in reality and into the cave of a dragon, where the titanic beast claims to be an ancient goddess of myth and legend. She has a gift for him, but it comes with a warning. War is coming. --- Posting Thursdays and Sundays at 8am Central. Confused about the rewrite? See my letter to previous readers here.

NEVER SPLIT THE PARTY: The Adventures of The Creeping Bam (BOOK ONE: The Job)
TAO is a broken world held together with nothing but magic and the will of the gods who protect it and its people. Then thousand years ago THE SUNDERING struck and Tao was almost torn apart by a terrible magical cataclysm which resulted in the planet almost being halted in its journey through the cosmos. It took all the power the gods of Tao could muster to restore its orbit and set it turning again, but in their efforts it was forever changed – its axis was drastically altered, and it now spins in such a way that one face of the world is forever turned from the sun it orbits, leaving half the planet in perpetual darkness. The various humanoid races that survived and now thrive within the habitable parts of THE DAY LANDS have come to live in perpetual fear of what lives beyond THE BORDERLANDS that separate them from whatever dwells within THE NIGHT LANDS, but for ten millennia it has kept its secrets. The land of RUNDAO languishes under the rule of their warlike Northern neighbours, the TEKTEHRAN EMPIRE, while a small, ragtag band of motley adventurers ply their mercenary trade fighting monsters and protecting the common man from the various dangers that haunt the night and prowl the hinterlands on the edges of civilization. THE CREEPING BAM have amassed a modest reputation in their years together, but they’re still just a small-time party of sellswords, thieves, outcasts and mages. They’re also exactly the kind of underdogs the people of Tao doesn’t yet realise are needed to save the world from the encroaching darkness they doesn’t even know is coming … This is a love letter and homage to the high-fantasy worlds of the tabletop RPGs like Dungeons & Dragons, Pathfinder and Warhammer and the sword & sorcery cinema and literature I fell in love with as a kid growing up in the 80s, from Robert E. Howard’s Conan the Barbarian (and the awesome Schwarzenegger movie, STILL my favourite fantasy film EVER), The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit and Ron Howard and George Lucas’ Willow, to the more grown-up and edgy worlds of grimdark masters George RR Martin and (my all-time favourite) Joe Abercrombie, as well as a BIG DOLLOP of Terry Pratchett’s immortal Discworld series. IMPORTANT: This story contains material which some readers may consider to be mature, such as battle violence, some strong language and occasional mild sexual scenes. If this is not your kind of thing, this story is not for you. I am also serializing this story on Tumblr, Wattpad, Quotev and Sweek.

Grim Beginnings
For most, ghosts and monsters were fantasy. For Tessa Byrne-Reyes, they were a constant in her daily life as a reaper. The legendary gods and creatures of mythology were, to her, historical figures. From a young age, she carried the weight of the world on her shoulders, possessing what she saw as a curse but what her family considered a gift. It was her birthright, to use her abilities to guide the deceased to the afterlife of an eternity in peace or in torment. Her classmates viewed her as "the fainting girl" who would pass out in the middle of a lesson with inexplicable injuries. She experienced each death in the town of Belmont Falls, from the mundane to the gruesome. A gunshot wound in the gut, broken ribs, her heart ceasing to beat for several minutes. No one understood what caused these incidents but over the years, she gained a reputation for being abnormal. While Tessa is the freak of Belmont Falls, Fin Belmont, the charming rebel and son of the richest man in town, is her polar opposite. Knowing each other for years but never saying more than a dozen words between them, one night changes everything, thrusting them into each other's unfamiliar and daunting worlds. Together, with the help of her best friend/his ex-girlfriend Elena, they begin to unravel secrets about their town and their pasts, learning that some secrets are better left buried and grudges can be held for centuries.
