《All At Once》Puppy Dog Pout

"I know exactly what we should name her."

I sit up in bed, leaning my back against the headrest, Myles follows my movements.

Is this the moment we name our baby?

"What should we name her Myles?"

He begins to talk, but stops himself, giving me a sheepish smile.

"We have been trying to find a name that fits our family, a name that would just roll of the tongue,"he explains.

"We've been searching for different, unique names, but maybe we should be looking for something a little simpler. But a name that still represents where babygirl comes from."

As he speaks he takes my hand, seemingly using my fingers as a way to distract himself, suddenly nervous.

"Myles. Why are you so nervous to tell me?"

He takes a deep breath, a small laugh escaping his nose. "Because I really want you to like it," he whispers bringing his eyes to mine. "Because I can't think of a name that would represent both of us more."

"Myles, no matter what it is, I'll love it. Because I love that you took the time to come up with a name that fit our small family. I'll love it because you love it," I explain as I brush the hair from his forehead.

He nods his head, a small smile playing on his lips.

"I know we never talked about whose last name she'll tak-"

"Yours," I say stopping him immediately. "I know we never talked about it, but I know that's what you want , and your lucky that I'm a rather traditional girl," I said with a grin, "Of course the baby before marriage doesn't exactly testify to that."

Myles nods with a smirk planted on his face, "No, no it doesn't."

"So now that we've established that he last name is 'Cruz', I would like to proposition your last name as her first."

I look at him confused, but then I think about it further.

Riley Cruz.

I honestly don't know why I didn't think of that. I've watched so many TV shows where they used the moms last name, and honestly it's perfect.

I realize that I haven't said anything when Myles once again speaks with uncertainty.

"Do you like it?"

I stare at this wonderful man, as he stares back at me with such adoration. I'm not sure I completely understood how much he cared for me until right now. And call me oblivious, or even naive, but I've only ever been in one serious relationship before Myles, and I was so wrong about how he felt about me.

But looking at Myles, thinking about everything that we have gone through together, I know that this is different. It's real. It's unmistakable love.

"It's perfect. I love it."

He breathes out a sigh of relief, "Oh my gosh, I'm so glad, I thought you were gonna hate it," he begins to ramble on adorably.

He's just too pure.

I love him.

"I love you."

His ramble halts and he looks at me, eyes wide, mouth slightly ajar.

He seems happy, elated even.

I gasp as his hand grabs my thigh, hitching it up to his waist as he rolls on top of me, hovering close so he doesn't squish my bump. He leans in impossibly closer, touching our noses together, our lips so close to touching, still not saying a word.

Until he pulls away with a puppy dog pout adorning his lips.

"I was supposed to say it first," he whispered delicately.

"I would just appreciate it if you said it at all," I said with a small smile.

He leaned in and gave me a hard passionate kiss, a short one, but a sweet, heart stopping kiss.

"I love you, Harper. So much," he breathes out.

I let out a breathy laugh in absolute bliss. He's the only person who has made me feel like this, made me feel like I was floating on clouds, made me feel like I was the luckiest girl in the world.

I know I'm the luckiest girl in the world. I have the best job, the best family, a family of which now consists of one beautiful man and a baby girl, and I'm so blessed. So utterly, incredibly blessed.

We continue to stare at each other, our eyes shining with happiness and joy. Myles presses his forehead against mine, and we just enjoy the moment.

That is until one miss Riley Cruz (God I love the sound of that) decides to make an appearance by kicking the walls of my stomach.

Myles laughs, feeling it against his own stomach due to our close proximity.

"Come on Riley, let momma and dadda have their moment, because I have a feeling we won't get very moments when you pop out," Myles chuckles.

"Hey we still don't have a middle name though," I realized.

Myles slapped his forehead in a "facepalm" motion, letting out a dramatic sigh, "That's a problem for another day, who needs a middle name anyways?"

I tried to control my laughter, not wanting to be too loud for our hotel room neighbors. "Myles, she needs a middle name."

He thought about it for a moment, "But why? The only time your middle name is used, is by your parents when you're in trouble."

"Exactly. So she needs a middle name that we can use to scold her, something that will roll of the tongue," I argue.

"No because our daughter will never get into trouble, she's gonna be an absolute princess," he stated matter-of-factly.

I let out a small chuckle, "Myles you do realize that every princess is known for getting in trouble right?"

His face morphed into an adorably confused pout, "I don't follow."

"Well... Belle got herself stuck in a castle with a beast, Tiana got cursed and turned into a frog, Ariel struck a deal with an evil lady because she wanted to meet a boy, and Rapunzel escaped her tower with a random man," I recalled for him.

Myles did not seem happy after this sudden revelation.

"So basically what I'm hearing is that the problem with all of these beautiful princesses, is men," he thought aloud. "Case closed then. All we have to do is keep her away from boys," he mused like he had just solved the biggest mystery in the world.

"I'm not sure she'll be okay with tha-"

He waved me off, "It doesn't matter, she's my princess and I won't let some... boy... taint her."

I gave him a sad smile, bringing my hand to cup his cheek, "Aw sweetie, no matter how hard you try she'll find a way to be with a boy. But you keep up with this attitude she'll just do it behind you back, and then we'll never be able to protect her."

He sighed in defeat, "I know, she hasn't even been born yet and I'm already worrying about her."

"Because you're a good dad."

He kissed my forehead, and then the tip of my nose, and finally my lips, "I love you."

"I love you too. So much."
