《All At Once》She doesn't even know it yet

I waited outside Harper's door. A bouquet of white roses clutched inside my sweaty palm. I turned around and took a deepbreath. Right before I turned back around I heard the door open.

I spun back around on my heel, "Hey Har-"

My jaw went slack, my lips parting only slightly, though I quickly recovered.

She looked stunning.

The maroon dress was tight around the bust. Making those perfectly sculpted breasts look even more delicious.

One of her perfectly toned, tan legs was showcased through the slit.

You could see her small nine week bump from the tightness, but she wore it proud.

"You look amazing," I said in an almost whisper.

A light blush worked its way on her cheeks, making her look even more adorable than she already is.

"You look great too," she said sheepishly. My smile grew even wider. I suddenly remembered the roses that had been forgotten by my side.

"Here," I said giving her the flowers, "I got these for you." I could feel the heat rising to my cheeks, but I did everything I could to suppress it.

After she put them in a vase inside I offered her my arm, which she excepted gratefully. We walked out to my car with our arms tangled together.

When we reached the car I opened the door for her to get in.

The ride there was spent in comfortable silence with the light hum of the radio. I listened to the engine of my car roar, and it got me deep in my thoughts.

I have less than seven months until this baby gets here. My Corvette only seats two, and we can't just use one car.

I should really get a new car.

I need to buy a house too. A big one that could fit our baby that's coming soon and all the other ones I plan on having with Haper. I smirk at the thought. She's gonna be my girlfriend, my wife, and my permanent baby mama and she doesn't even know it yet.

But it will happen.

I may not be very experienced with women, but I don't think that it could get much better than Harper, and I intend on keeping her by my side. Always.

When we arrive at the event I pull up right in the front, giving my keys to the valet driver.

I go around to Harper's side and open the door for her, extending my hand for her to take.

As soon as her foot makes contact with the ground, cameras could be heard in every direction. We knew this would happen, but we both agreed that this would be a good opportunity to let people know of our situation, when it would inevitably come out eventually.

I placed my hand on the small of her back. I could feel her slightly shaking.

I leaned down and whispered encouraging words in her ear, she exhaled slowly, a good portion of the tension leaving her body.

We walk along the carpet, cameras flashing left and right. Harper and I stop to pose for several different pictures along the way, one picture in particular got people talking. I had placed my hand on her stomach as we both smiled towards the camera.

We didn't answer any questions, though kept walking.

I caught her looking down every once in a while to make sure she wouldn't trip over the carpet. When we finally exited off to the side Harper let out a loud breath, subconsciously touching her stomach.

I've come to notice that in stressful situations she always places her hand against her bump, seemingly seeking comfort from the baby.

"Are you alright?" I asked her.

She looks up at me with her bright emerald eyes and nods her head, "Yeah, I'm fine."

A waiter approached Harper with a tray full of glasses of champagne. She declines, but before he leaves I reach over and grab one for myself. Harper chuckles at me as I drink the whole glass at once.

"Nervous about something?"

"I'm supposed to give a speech," I said not making eye contact with her.

She took my chin in between her thumb and pointer finger, making me face her. "Just be you," she whispered softly. "You are one of the most sincere people I know. Talk about why this is important to you, or why you believe this organization makes a difference," she lists off.

I take her hand in mine bringing it to my lips. "Thank you," I said looking at her straight in the eyes.

"Always."

My heart stops momentarily, but I keep walking so I don't seem suspicious.

We walk over to our table where they served us a delicious, country meal. A large T-bone steak, baked potato, green beans, and a roll.

I watch amused, as Harper scarfs down her whole plate.

She looks up at me, a small piece of green bean on her bottom lip.

I looked back down to her plate, her eyes followed mine. Harper's mouth turned into a small 'O' shape as she realized she hate completely cleaned her plate.

I chuckled quietly.

"Hey I'm eating for two!" Harper said hitting my arm playfully.

"Yeah, well one of the two is about the size of a gumball," I retorted, tapping her nose gently.

She looked up at me through her long lashes, a small grin on her lips, "It's a really hungry gumball," she chuckled.

"Mhmm, right."

Suddenly the lights dim, and the president of the organization walks in stage.

"Hello, we are so glad that all of you could make it. This organization is working hard to make sure the young athletes of America have every possible opportunity to become the next generation of professional athletes."

She continues with her speech as I try and put mine together in my head.

"Now, here to speak with y'all is Dallas Cowboys running back, Mr. Myles Cruz."

A loud applause was heard as I slowly made my way up in stage. My palms were slightly sweaty as I stood underneath those bright lights.

I looked out into the dark crowd only to spot Harper's glowing self.

I cleared my throat.

"Hi everyone. My name is Myles Cruz and I have been playing for the Dllas cowboys for a mere two years now. It's been one of the best experiences of my life. I've met so many people I looked up to as a child. I've made so many great friends."

I looked out to the smiling crowd, looking for Harper once more.

"When I was little my father and I always watch football together. Emmitt Smith was once of my all time favorite players. When I was eight my dad took me to one of the YAA camps and I finally got to meet him. Every year after that I attended one of their camps. I met so many different players from all over the country, and I grew so much as a player."

I continued to focus my attention on just Harper, trying to calm my erratic heartbeat, but looking at her only made it beat even wilder.

"The Young Athletes if America is where I started out. And look where I am now. This charity helps millions of kids around the country reach their full potential, and I'm so glad to be apart of it."
