Chapter 25:“I Like Adace”

♡ mia's pov ♡

"Why did you punch him?" I asked Elijah.

"Because I can" he answered.

"You can't"

"yes I can"

"No you can't just punch him" I glared at him.

"He did something that annoyed me that's it"

"What did he do?"

"It's nothing"

"then why did you punch him if it was nothing"

"you spent the whole day at his house"

"Oh so this is about me now?"

"Everything about you matters to me, you matter to me damn it" he said.

"You are too naive to see that I have liked you for years, don't you ever wonder why no boys came up to you? That's because of me. I did that"

"But I tried to stop liking you thinking you don't like me because you made it clear you don't like me back" he looked down.

'But I do like you'

"I'll leave you alone I can see that you still have a crush on Alex, I'm sorry for bothering you all these years" he smiled a sad smile and walked away with his head down before I can even stop him.

"Come on we have a big exam. Wait where's Elijah?"

"He left I have to go after him"Mason grabbed my arm and pulled me to my class.

"He is not in good condition right now you can talk to him later now go and do your exam I'll keep an eye on him don't worry" Ben said as he pushed me to Emma who smiled at and blew a kiss to Ben.

"you should relax your mind from Elijah you will fail your exam and you know how much your mom means to you"

"but I'm afraid Elijah will hurt himself"

"You heard Ben he said he will keep an eye on him" we entered the class.

"I'm going" I said to the girls as they nodded.

'I'm sorry Elijah'

I drove to Elijah's house and knocked on the door.

"Oh hi Mia, how are you? Elijah's mom greeted me as she moved out of the door to let me in.

"Hi I just came to ask if Elijah is here" she looked nervous as she looked down.

"Oh uh no no he left" she stuttered.

"But his car is here" I pointed at his car.

"He left with his friends"

"Oh okay um I just wanted to talk to him if he gets back would you mind telling him that I'm sorry, and he didn't let me talk" she nodded as I walked away from the front door.

'I guess he is ignoring me'

Still no sign of Elijah. I tried calling him, went to his house every day asking if he is here, and I asked the boys if they knew anything about him, they would just shrug.

He is not coming to school I still wrote notes for him and asked Noah maybe he would know but, he didn't.

Me and Alex were at the end of the project, just need a little fixing and details and decorations, and we will be done.

"Still no sign?" Cara asked as I shook my head.

"He didn't even let me talk he just went away”I said as I ate my pizza.

"It's okay give him time"

"I'm worried about him, I unintentionally hurt him"

"Let's change the subject for now, ace what happened with Adam?"

Yesterday Adam and ace went to a restaurant together, but it's not a date because ace doesn't consider it as a date.

"We had a great time I really his company he taught me new words in sign language it was pretty good" ace smiled and ate.

"I happy for you" I said at ace.

"Me too, you seem so happy with Adam"Cara said.

"I approve of Adam" Annie said.

"I like adace"Emma said.

" Hey Mia, can I talk to you for a second, privately?" Mason came to our table and asked.

"Sure what do you need" I got up and went with him outside the cafeteria.

"I got news from Elijah" that made me nervous.

"Is he okay? Is he hurt?"

"He is not okay. We found him crying next to his parent's lake house" he said with a frown on his face.

"C-can I go to him?" he let out a breath in relief.

"I was about to ask if you can possibly come with me"

"I would love to, I have to talk to him" he nodded and got a pass from the principles' office to let us out.

After 1 hour and 45 minutes we reached the lake house and saw Elijah's car in the driveway.

"You go inside first and I'll go after you" Mason turned to me.

"What if he doesn't want to talk to me?"

"Then make him talk to you, be the Mia he likes the natural you"Mason smiled and told me to go.

'You can do this'

I knocked on the door waiting for Elijah to come and open it as Mason got out of the car and told me to just go inside.

I went to Elijah's room and opened the door only to find out that it was empty, I went to his grandmother's room.

"Elijah I know you in here, I am so sorry that I hurt you but I didn't mean it, you didn't even give me a chance to talk"

"Leave Mia I don't want to talk about" he groaned and talked.

"I'm coming in, and we are going to talk I don't care" I went in the room to find Elijah hugging his grandma's favorite pillow.

"What do you want, go away" he rolled over so now his back is towards me.

I closed the door slowly, walked to the bed, and sat down my back was on the bed frame next to Elijah.

"You didn't give me the chance to talk"

"you made it clear that you don't like me"

"Then you are dumb, did you know how worried I was these past four days?" he rolled his eyes and hugged the pillow more that's when I noticed his bruised knuckles.

"Why did you hurt yourself?" I played with his hair as he shrugged.

"I wanted to tell you that, if I went with a guy to work on a school project does not mean I like them" he turned around and looked at me.

"But if I spent worrying over a boy, taking notes for him in class, going to his house every day to check on him, ask his friends if they knew he was okay that means I deeply care and like this one specific dumb boy" he laid his head on my laps and hugged me as I continued to play with his hair.

"I never said I don't like you I might not show it but I do" Elijah smiled slightly.

"Don't you remember what I said when I went with ace? I said I liked you too. Don't tell me you forgot that" he chuckled lightly and shook his head.

"How can I forget such cute and beautiful words?" he said as he looked at me.

"Remember when we first met? You were new to this neighborhood and my mom came out with me to give you cookies to see that your father knew my mom"

"of course I do I saw a cute little girl smiling and jumping as her two ponytails were jumping with her how can I forget that"

"you were a cute little child that kept staring at me to the part where my dad wanted me to get as far as I can away from you"

"I was sad when your father moved you away from me"i put my hands on each side of his face and made him look at me.

" I had a crush on you since the second grade, I liked you since the 8th grade but, you always bullied me, I didn't know why and I still don't "

"I bullied you because you didn't like me"

He pulled me towards him making me lay down next to him as he nuzzled his head in my neck and held me tighter and closer to him as I kept playing with his hair.

"I really like you" he whispered

"I really like you" I whispered back and heard someone enter I looked at Mason who smiled, nodded and went out probably back to his house.

i looked down and saw Elijah fast asleep, dark circles under his eyes, he must have had it hard these four days and hugged him tighter and fell asleep.
