《Don't Talk To Strangers | BOOK 1》sixty one

August 28th,
6 months and 48 days since the last report
I woke up to an alarm. An ear piercing, heart screeching alarm.
Red lights were flashing everywhere and I heard shouting.
"Breach in the security room. Make your way to the panic room now."
This gave me chills. The last time I heard a robotic voice was when Alex and I were trapped in that elevator.
Paxton shook me, taking my hand as he dragged me out of bed.
My bare feet hit the cold floor as we ran down the hallway, the morning air hitting me like a tonne of bricks.
We went into the kitchen where we found the rest of the guys. Elaine was pointing to the library where we all headed too.
Sophia, was holding open a bookshelf which we climbed behind. There was another bunker hidden beneath it.
Walking down a few steps, we went inside the bunker. The alarm couldn't be heard down here so I un-blocked my ears.
My hands fell to my side as I looked around.
It was big, metal. It was shaped just like the normal bunker, only smaller.
A tin roof and tin walls echoed every time someone spoke. A small kitchen was placed in the corner of the room as well as 14 small double beds.
A seating area with 4 black leather couches were facing one side of the room. A brown coffee table with books, tissues and colouring pencils littered the table.
The room had posters of singers and movie stars hung on the walls.
I smiled as I looked around.
It was at least 3 hours before everyone was in the bunker. Elaine came in last and shut the door, a tired and stressed look on her face.
I stood next to Paxton, hand in his as he squeezed my fingers tightly. I leaned my head in his bicep, still tired from earlier.
"There was a breach in the security system. Nothing to worry about now, we've handled it."
"The storm was strong and the air was so thick that it actually punctured a hole in the rear wall, where the medical bay lay. And it started to filter in unwanted air."

We all listened with silence and interest. Elaines words bringing us comfort as well as fear.
"We might be down here for a day or two, until we know the air is safe to breathe again. We've patched it up with strips of metal and checked ourselves before we came down here. We would hate to put you all at risk. But until then, please. Chose a bed and get comfortable."

There were three separate rooms in this bunker. The toilet and showers, medical, and a bigger kitchen.
It wasn't too shabby, definitely not big enough to hold all of us for a long time.
I was sitting on a bed right at the end, pushed against the wall when Paxton came over.
"Here." He smiled, handing me a cup of water. It's things like these, giving me water when I know I need it, but won't get it, that makes me think Paxton is my boyfriend.
Although he hasn't asked me to be his girlfriend, he does boyfriend-like things and has boyfriend qualities.
"Thank you." I take a sip from the water and revel in the taste. It wakes me up finally, if the alarm blaring wasn't good enough.
"I guess we're stuck down here." He laughs, scratching his head, "I guess we are. Which sucks, because there's nothing to do." I sigh, throwing myself onto the bed so I'm laying down and staring at the ceiling.
Paxton chuckled, "We can talk."
I froze. He wants to talk? "About what?" I asked calmly, "About... us." He shrugged.
I got a sinking feeling that he wanted to break up even though we're not together. I held my breath, "O-okay. What's up?" I asked, sitting straight up so I was facing him.
He looked down at the bed, his hands grabbing mine.
"I'm not really good at the whole... romance thing so I'm not sure if I'm doing it right but-"
"You're not proposing right?" I say, he laughs, "God no. Not yet." He mumbled.

"I'm asking you to be my girlfriend. Put up with me for a little longer."
His face was red and he looked nervous. I smiled, "Really? You want me to be your girlfriend?" He nodded his cute head, "I would love too!"
My grin was from ear to ear. My cheeks hurt from smiling.
Paxton tackled me to the bed, kissing me all over until I couldn't breathe. I held him tight as we lay there for a while, just talking.
Megan came over, "I need to talk to you." She said. I walked over to her as we headed to the bathrooms where we were alone.
"What's up?" I asked.
A tear rolled down her cheek, "Alex knows I'm pregnant." She said, "Okay. Shouldn't that be a good thing."
She shook her head, "He isn't speaking to me. I think he's in shock because all he said was I need time. Which I mean, I get it but I'm scared. What if he doesn't want a baby with me."
She cried on my shoulder as I comforted her, rubbing my hand up and down her back, "Do you want me to talk to him?" I asked, she nodded her head, "It's just so soon. We're not even in a relationship and I'm pregnant with his kid."
"It's okay! I can tell he likes you, the way he looks at you." That calmed her down, "Megan, he just needs time. I'll speak to him okay? I promise he'll come around."
She nodded her head and wiped her eyes, "Thank you." She sniffles, "Of course. Now, take a breath okay?"
I left her alone and headed back to the main room. I saw Alex bouncing Riley in his knee, an unreadable expression on his face.
He didn't see me coming so I sat on the ouch beside him. Alex turned his head to face me.
"What is wrong with you." I said in an angry tone. He looked confused, "Megan just came to me crying because she said you're not talking to her."
He rolled his eyes, "She's pregnant, Alex. With your kid. And I swear to God if you're going to ignore her and-"
"I'm not ignoring her Elle. I'm just- thinking. I have so much shit going on right now. With Riley and Megan and all this bunker shit, it's messing with me."
He seemed stressed. I felt bad for springing it all on him, "I'm sorry Alex, I understand. But it takes two to tango and I'm sorry but you have to step up and take responsibility for this."
He huffed, nodding his head, "I know I do. And I will, I promise." "Don't say that to me, say that to Megan." I smiled.
We were silent for a while, "So, does this mean no sex?" He asked. I rolled my eyes, smacking him upside the head.
He laughed, "I'm joking!" Riley laughed along too and wrapped his tiny hand around Alex's index finger.
"Can you take him for me? I have to find Megan." I nodded, "Of course. Come here baby." I smiled, gripping Riley's body.
I lifted him off Alex's knee and sat him on mine, spinning him round so I can pick him up.
I watched Paxton from a far, he was laying on his back, throwing a small hacky sack in the air and catching it.
I headed over to him, "Penny for your thoughts." I said, taking a seat on the bed, "Just thinking." He smiled, "Are you sure?" I kissed his cheek, "Promise."
Riley rolled around our bed as he climbed on Paxton, giggling as Paxton played peek-a-boo.
I wonder if we'll have a family one day.
