Elle McBriar

August 11th, 6 months and 32 days since the last zombie report

I had the best sleep of my life last night. The bed was warm and comfy. The air wasn't too hot or too cold.

I was also extremely tired but I'm beginning to feel excited about the whole staying in an underground bunker thing.

Elaine is really nice. She's accompanying to all of our needs and doesn't push us if we're struggling.

I'm eating breakfast in the dining hall, dipping my spoon into my bowl, "Hi beautiful girl." Paxton smiles, kissing my forehead, "Hey, how'd you sleep." I ask, slurping the milk. "Amazing. I wish you'd woken me up though." He frowned.

I smiled. Paxton looked so peaceful when he slept. His fingers twirled around the end of my hair as he stared at me, "You needed your rest. And besides, I was hungry." I shrug, "Well, I'm going to get breakfast and I'll join you." He said, getting up.

"Wait, you can't. I have a mandatory and strict therapy session with Megan, now!" I said, glancing at the wall clock. Paxton frowned, "Do you have to go." I nodded, "I'm sorry. Later we can hang out, I swear! I promise." I kissed his cheek.

Paxton yanked my arm towards him and pressed his lips against mine, "You get away too easily. You're slippery." Paxton whined, "Too bad. Go eat." I smiled.

Skipping down the hallway, I knocked on Megan's door. Hearing her cheerful 'Enter'. I opened the door, taking in the neatness of it all.

"Elle, hi. Please, sit." She smiled, picking up a clipboard and pen. "How are you dear?" She asked, I shrugged, "Average, I guess." I sighed.

As much as I want too talk, it's not too a licensed therapist. I just want to chill and read a book, "How are you really? What are you feeling right now?" She asked. I refrained from rolling my eyes, "Bored." I said flatly, she smiled, "I understand. But until we understand the state your mind is in, these meetings are compulsory." Megan said.

I nodded, "I know. But forgive me, I'm not used to the whole, human interaction thing. Or a therapist talking to me about my feelings sort of vibe."

"I understand completely. I just want to get to know you better. So, tell me. Did you have any siblings? What was your life like before the apocalypse?"

So I told her. And after our session I realised I revealed way too much to Megan about my personal life. I guess that's what therapists are supposed to do. I told her about Oliver, my parents. Being on my own and then finding the guys.

She asked about my relationship with the boys as well as Paxton. And I explained to her. It felt nice to talk a girl about relationships.

Walking down the plain hallway, I headed back to my room to relax. I'm thinking about asking Elaine for some drawing supplies so I can keep myself occupied.

I saw Alex standing outside my room with Riley in his arms. "Hey. What's up?" I smiled, "Riley won't stop crying." He said, a worried look on his face.

Riley was crying slightly, he looked agitated. "I'll take him." I said.

Alex passed him to my arms as I opened my door, cradling his small body against mine as he squirmed about.

"Has he eaten today?" I asked Alex. He nodded and leaned his head agaimst the wall tiredly, "Go sleep. I got this." He looked at me, "You sure."

I nodded, "Course."

Alex left the room, thanking me profusely as I walked around the room trying to get Riley to sleep.

He wailed and cried until his face was red. "What's wrong with you? Why are you crying baby?" I sighed, kissing his forehead.

He's eaten, he's had a nap. Diaper!

I put him on my bathroom counter. And sure enough, his diaper was full. Shaking my head and smiling, I changed his diaper with a few spare ones I chucked in my bathroom drawer.

He calmed down straight away and giggled up at me. I smiled, tickling his stomach, "Your brother is silly." I'll have

to talk to him about checking his diaper.

I put Riley in between my pillows as he yawned and stretched, closing his little eyes.

I closed the door after I decided to go find Elaine. I headed to her office, about to knock when I saw she was talking to someone.

I waited silently. But then I heard a voice I recognised. Paxton?

I peered through her glass window, seeing her laughing at something Paxton said. I clenched my fists. He didn't seem to be laughing though.

I contemplated knocking but realised I'm probably just being paranoid.

I kept watching them, seeing if anything would happen. Elaine laughed, moving closer to him. He smiled slightly, staring at the ground.

Elaine slid her hand over to his as her fingers grazed up his arm.

Oh FUCK no.

Knocking aggressively on the door, I watched Elaine jump back, "C-come in." She said. I opened the door, pretending like I saw nothing, "Hi." I smiled innocently.

I saw Elaine relax a little, "I was wondering if you had any paper. Or some pens I could draw with?" I asked, "Id like to keep myself occupied for the time being."

Elaine fumbled around, "Of course. I'll just get them for you. Wait here." She smiled, leaving the room.

My smile dropped as soon as she left the room. Paxton smiled at me, "Good therapy lesson?" He asked.

I rolled my eyes, ignoring him.

He seemed shocked, "You okay? Did I do something?" "Did I do something?" I mocked in a high pitched voice. Paxton laughed, "Okay damn. Don't tell me." He said.

"Just leave me alone Paxton." I sighed, seeing Elaine coming back down the hall.

"Here you go." I smiled, taking them from her, "Thanks."

I turned to leave, hearing Paxton's footsteps behind me.

I ignored him til I got to my room, when he took my hands and made me drop the stuff.

"What is your problem?" He huffed, staring at me. "You're my problem. What the hell was that huh? Elaine touching on you." I spat, seeing his lips turn up into a smirk.

I pulled away from him, "So you think this is funny." I hissed, "No baby I'm sorry!" He said quickly when I pulled away.

I headed into my room, cursing myself for not closing the door fast enough.

"Elle, come on. It didn't mean anything. She came onto me, I swear me." He said.

I put my finger to my lips, nodding to Riley.

"Why were you even in her office then? If it meant nothing." He shrugged, "She wanted to talk to me about my therapy lesson." I growled, "Bitch."

Paxton smirked, "You're jealous."

"Of course I'm jealous. Bitch touched you." He tried to touch me again but I slapped him away, "What'd I do?"

"You didn't pull away. That's what you did." I sighed, sitting on the bed.

I crossed my legs over each other as I stared down at Riley, feeling tears well in my eyes. "Can you just leave me alone Pax? I'm mad at you." I sighed, wiping away my tears.

"If you were mad at me, you wouldn't have called me Pax." He smiled, crawling up the bed so he was sitting in front of me.

I looked away from him even when his fingers trailed along my leg up to my thigh. I flicked him away, keeping my ground.

"She means nothing to me honey. I swear. But I'm sorry if it made you mad." she apologised. I tried to stay mad but I couldn't help the feeling I got when he called me honey.

I felt my heart flutter.

God Paxton, what're you doing to me.

He kissed my knee, burying his face onto the bed beside me. His legs hanging off the edge, "I'm tired." He yawned, rubbing his face.

"Have a nap then." I told him, "Will you be here when I wake up?" He asked.

I nodded, "Of course."

And I will.
