Elle McBriar
July 24th, 4 months and 12 days after the first zombie report
Gage offered to come with me today.
We didn't take the van this time, mainly because we didn't need it.
"Are you sure you're okay to walk? Paxton said your leg is still healing." Gage said, looking worried. I shrugged off his suspicion, "I'm fine, seriously. Paxton worries too much."
We were waking through bushes, whacking the leaves and crunching over them.
"I don't understand why are we walking through ruble and broken buildings? There's a perfectly good trail on a path." I whined, getting sticks stuck in my hair, "Because there is an infestation of zombies. Do you really want to risk getting seen and getting ambushed again?" Gage warned.
I huffed, shaking off the memory of getting attacked.
We've been walking for almost an hour, from my shitty memory, the shops should be just through this clearing, "Who would've thought we'd be shopping for something other than supplies huh." Gage joked, "Well we didn't know we'd be this bored." I smiled.
After walking for what felt like forever, we finally stumbled upon the shops I'd been at a couple days ago. We pushed our way through. But there was a snap. It sounded like a stick snapping.
Whipping my head around, I saw nothing, "Calm down, it's probably nothing." Gage said, although he didn't seem quite so convinced himself. We only brought knives with us and silly handgun because Paxton was back at home loading them all.
"If we get mauled, I blame Paxton." I huffed, following closely behind Gage, "Don't worry. I blame Paxton too."
There it was again, that snapping sound. "Gage, I don't think we're alone." I whispered, eye's narrowing at my surroundings. We're too closed in right now for zombies to get us. So where is it coming from.
"ELLE, BEHIND YOU." Gage screamed, but that's all I remember before my vision was filled with black dots.

My head thumped. A sharp pain erupting in the back of my head. I opened my eyes, immediately regretting it as a bright light burned my eyeballs.

I groaned, trying to sit up. Turns out, I was already sitting.
I lifted my head, looking around. Where the hell am I? And what happened? I wriggled my body, feeling the rope dig into my skin and ankles, then I remembered, "Gage?" I screamed, "Hey I'm here, I'm right behind you." He panted. It was then I could feel the heat from his body and the deep breathing, "What the hell happened? Where are we?" I croaked out, my throat dry.
"I don't know. I woke up a few minutes ago."
"What did you see before we got taken away? I remember you yelling my name."
Gage sighed, "All I saw was someone dressed in all black, a mask over their faces. I tried to fight them off but they're too strong." He sounded defeated, done for.
I looked around, we in a single room. One door, no windows. There was a table to our far right, a blanketed sheet covering it. A bright lamp above us, burning the back of my neck. I was uncomfortable and my head throbbed, I feel like throwing up.
"We need to get out of here." Gage whispered, "Yeah no shit." I whisper-shouted. I looked down, "They took my radio-" I wiggled my legs, "And my knives. Shit." I hissed, "Mine too."
We are screwed.
Suddenly, the door opened and two men came in, dressed in all black, just like Gage said.
"Who are you? What do you want!" I screamed, writhing in my chair, the two looked at each other, "What? No English? Or are you fucking aliens? What the hell are we doing here!" I was angry now. One of them came over and untied my legs, "Don't touch me." I spat.
He slapped me across the face, the metallic taste of blood pooling in my mouth. I flexed my jaw, "Is that all you got." I hissed, "Don't provoke them, Elle." Gage said.
When my legs were untied, I kicked them, forcing one of them onto his ass, "Get away from me you freak." He got up, stronger and angrier, he towered over me, "What do you want from me?"

He grabbed my by the neck, squeezing until I was basically out of breath. I felt my arms go limp as they were cut free. When his fingers released my neck, I was being dragged out by my arm, I saw Gage getting uncut too, "Don't touch him! Don't fucking hurt him or I swear to God!"
Gage called after me and I called back, but it was no use. I was being dragged into another room, a smaller one this time. He threw me onto the bed, tying my legs to the bed with cuffs, "Let go of me." I hissed, hitting his back with my fist.
Suddenly, I felt something being inserted into my skin, I looked down, seeing a needle in my skin. It was connected to an IV drip, "What? Are you a fucking doctor?" He looked at me, "Didn't think so. Now let me, go." I glared at him. But I started to feel light headed, they were taking my blood, "Wait why are you taking my blood? What are you doing?" I tried to unhook my arms but one was cuffed with leather belts and the other was tied with rope, the one with the needle.
I lay my head down, closing my eyes as tears flowed down them.
When I woke again, I wasn't alone. I had hoped it was all a dream but it wasn't. The same guy as before was attaching a new bag. I saw that 2 bags of my blood was already drained, they were sitting in a cooler full of ice.
"Hey, w-what are you doing with my blood? Please." I shouted. My voice was raw, weak, "How long have I been out for?" I plead, "2 days." My eyes went wide, "2 days. 2 fucking days? What the hell is wrong with you." I screamed.
"Sit still." The guy said, holding down my shoulders so I stopped squirming. I tried to release my knees so I could kick him in the dick but it didn't work, "Is my friend alive? Please let him go and you can h-have me. I promise." I pleaded, my heart beating erratically, "He is alive. For now."
"For now? You bastard!" I yelled, as the echo of the door slamming made my ears numb.
They're going to bleed my dry. And then I'll die.
What did I do to deserve this? I did everything right. I went to school, had a job, paid taxes and tipped. Why God? What did I do?
I heard Gage screaming in another room, it was distant, but I heard it. "GAGE?" I yelled, "GAGE?" I hoped he could hear me. I thrashed my body round, hoping to loosen something. But nothing happened, "Hey! Men in black." I screamed, my throat hurting, "Tell me what you want? What are you doing with my blood?" My head was fuzzy, "Are you giving it to Vampires, healing the sick? Curing werewolf disease? Fucking tell me you cowards!"
The door burst open a second later, "You've got a mouth on you don't ya." One of the guys said, furious, "He speaks. I was beginning to think you were mute or something."
To say I was scared was an understatement, but I kept my ground, "What an imagination too, aye Ty." He looked to the other guy, who wasn't so convinced, "Tell me what you're doing with my blood? I deserve to know, especially if you're making some mutant alien babies."
The first guy chuckled, "You'll see very soon." "That tells me nothing." He grinned, "It's not supposed too."
"Please, w-why are you doing this?" I said, feeling drowzy as the other guy injected something into my IV. "We're making more zombies." I felt my heart literally skip a beat, "Why? They killed the entire population." "Exactly. We're making a new population, wit zombies. But we need your blood to do it." I fisted my hands into balls, "Why?" He tapped my nose, "Wouldn't you like to know."
"You'll never get away with this!" I screamed.
"We already have, Elle."

The Forgotten One
Hey there everbody. This will be my second upload to Roll 20. Unfortunately I wasn't able to continue my previous one due to life and what not but I'm now back and have a some what new idea I've been kicking around for years. We'll see if i head back to my other fiction due to having things calming down. And like always I'm open to constructive critisims. Any way on to the synopsis. The world as we know it is gone. Torn from everyone due to two major things. First and foremost a biologica lweapon that no one wanted to take credit for after it was released and couldn't be stopped (a zombie virus of sorts) and the way that many nations thought to stop it from spreading was to destory everything they could ofcourse that didn't include them selves. So there the world was in a mexican standoff with hundreds of countries with hundreds of nuclear weapons just dareing one another to make the first move. Once again no one knew who started it but it didn't matter once it started the world was doomed. In an attempt to save people some scientists began working on a way to cryogenically frezze people so they could surive the on coming armegedon. The problem was before they could begin testing it on humnas the nukes began launching. In a bid to save them selves a family gave their youngest son to the scientists as a test subject. He had already been infected by the virus weeks before the nukes were being threatened and still retained his humanitiy. After being betrayed by his family after telling them of his ability to stay him self and a few things the bio weapon had changed in him physically he was sedated with enough drugs to kill a whole pride of elephants and forced to take part in the experiment. The last thing he remembers was watching his world close around him (his cryo pod) and his family's face of sadness but also hope in the fact that them betraying him may give them a chance to live. This is a fan fiction in which many aspects of one of my favorite games will be quiet prevelent. It will be obvious to those who have played it but for those who may not the game i'm going to be baseing some of the things in this novel is called Prototype. And no I do not own the rights to the cover. If the creater would like for me to pull it down please messege me.

Shrike
He wants to play the latest and greatest VRMMORPG game, but he can't muster up the cash for the fancy new proprietary hardware and membership license. After months of saving up cash and arduous work, he has built a behemoth of a machine relying almost entirely on seedy old technology and a DIY guide by some dude named "Jimmy Bob." This is the story of his entry into the game. This is also a story of intrigue, exploration, introspection, batshit crazy game design, and unintended but entirely predictable consequences. This is G.C.O. Undergoing a total re-write, mostly because I think things were too rushed rather than any content or direction changes. If you are one of the few who tried Shrike when it was briefly updating, consider giving it another shot. Of no relation to either The Great Crusade or the recent (in 2017 lol) Shrike book for Warhammer by Games Workshop. All similarities in these cases are superficial; please don't sue me. Feedback welcome and encouraged, never be afraid to review or comment. HQ/Kindle-Grade cover art. Book Cover 2.0: "From the Dark"
