It was a cold night McCree shivered in his sleep, but woke to see Hanzo still turned away, but stared in shock when he saw that Hanzo's tail was gone. He sat up quick and tried to wake him up.

"H-Hanzo? Hanzo! Your tail!"

Hanzo woke and rubbed his eyes awake. He turned to look at McCree, but felt something wasn't right. He looked down and stared in shock. Teo strong pale legs were attached to him.

"Seven hells! I have two tails!"

McCree looked away and blushed. Hanzo was naked.

"Two legs. Ya have two legs Hanzo and you're naked."

Hanzo gasped and grabbed at his new legs. He blushed in embarrassment. McCree rook off his poncho and turned to cover Hanzo with it. Hanzo wrapped the poncho around his waist. He started breathing rapidly.

"Where has my tail gone?!"

McCree knelt down and moved Hanzo's hair away to reveal an ear. Hanzo reached his hand up to feel his new ears.

"Beats me Hanzo. You look good though."

"Shut up McCree."

Hanzo's labored breathing was making McCree nervous.

"I'm sure we'll figure it out."

"I told you you shouldn't have come! This is all your fault, Jesse!" Hanzo exclaimed in a panick.

"Calm down fishboy. You're not thinking strait. I need you to think about how this could've happened."

Hanzo slowed his breath and nodded.

"I-I remember an old merperson story about a mermaid who turned human when she was left to dry out on a beach."

Hanzo reached up and felt that his hair was dry. He pulled it through a tie on his wrist into a bun. He reached his hand out to McCree and put it to his shoulder.

"You're not gonna try and get up are ya?" McCree asked.

"The mermaid turned back into a mermaid when she went into the water. I'm going to try and do the same."

"You've never walked before."

"I'm going to try."

McCree backed up and crossed his arms trying not to laugh at the struggling Hanzo. Hanzo tried to move his legs back to stand, but it was no use. His legs felt weak. He grumbled at McCree who was watching him suffer in this state.

"This isn't funny! Won't you help me up?"

McCree chuckled a bit before putting his hand under Hanzo's shoulder and his arm over his own shoulder, and lifting him off the ground. Hanzo tried to move his new feet into a standing position. His shaky legs just barely held his body up.

"Get me to the water."

Hanzo took a shaky step foreward and fell to his knees. He groaned a bit in pain as McCree tried to help him up. He got him to stand again.

"How do humans live like this?"

"It's not that hard Hanzo. You just gotta lock your knees."

"What are knees?"

McCree sighed, disappointed in himself.

"Do it like you would if you were straightening your tail to spread out."

Hanzo groaning looked down and moved his legs.

"Like this?"

Hanzo locked his knees.

"There, that's it. Now move one leg foreward and keep your knee locked."

Hanzo took another step. His foot shaky, but moved. He moved his other foot foreward taking another step closer to the water. He eventually could walk on his own, but he kept his arms out to balance himself. He fell into the water and waded, but nothing happend. McCree stared curiously. Hanzo gapsed and turned back at McCree. He stood waist deep in the water. He looked at Jesse worriedly and scared.

"Nothing is happening! Where has my tail gone?! Why won't it come back?!"

"Hanzo it's alright. I'll help ya out, but for now we gotta get out of here."

Hanzo wrapped himself in his own arms and started to shiver. His teeth chattering a bit.

"It's cold."

"Tell me how to get out."

"Don't just leave me here!" Hanzo exclaimed stepping out of the water. Jesse's poncho was now dripping wet.

"I wasn't gonna do that. I have stuff on my boat that'll keep ya warm, but you gotta tell me how to get to it."

"I believe there is a tunnel that way." Hanzo pointed to the corner of the cave.

There was indeed a sort of tunnel. Jesse nodded and took Hanzo's hand.

"Alright. Can ya walk?"

"It hurts."

"Just hang on to me. I'll be right here."

"You promise?"

"Promise. Let's go."

They hobbled out of the cave and onto the beach where McCree found his boat still anchored and floating in the water. It was undamaged. He looked up. Clouds still filled the sky, but it was early morning. McCree got Hanzo onto the boat. He opened a chest below deck and took out an extra pair of clothes and a blanet, he handed them to Hanzo.

"Here, put these on."

Hanzo attempted to undo the pocho.

"Woah! I mean...not in front of me!" McCree exclaimed blushing.

Hanzo looked up at him questionably.

"Nani?"

"Turn around or somethin'.....I mean.....unless you wanna change in front of me?"

Hanzo frowned at him. He motioned for McCree to turn.

"Turn around, Jesse. It feels weired when you watch me."

McCree sighed and turned around. He waited for Hanzo to say something.

"How do you start this thing?" Hanzo asked.

McCree turned and shook his head. He couldn't help, but blush at the sight of Hanzo in his clothes. He started the boat and took off to the doc. McCree looked to see Jacob and several of his men congregating along the doc. Jesse couldn't tell if Jacob was worried or angry. He docked the boat. Jacob turned and sprinted to the boat.

"Jesse! Holy shit! Are you hurt?! What the hell happened?!"

"Relax Jacob I'm fine. I...didn't think I was gonna try and ride the storm so I camped on the island over night."

"Thank god. I thought the storm took you away, man."

Jacob looked up questionably to see Hanzo coming out from below deck. He looked around him curiously. Jacob tilted his head.

"Who's your friend?"

McCree turned.

"Oh, he's just a.....another boater." McCree lied. "His boat sank in the storm and I found him stranded on the island."

They watched Hanzo hobble his way out of the boat.

"Huh? What a....what are you gonna do with him?"

"I said he could stay with me until he makes contact with some family, but uh, he's not really from around here."

"I see. Well you both should get some rest. Here is your money from yesterday. Let me know if you need anything."

"Thanks Jacob. Have a good one."

Jacob walked away with his men and Jesse went to help Hanzo. He grabbed his arm and they walked off the docks.

"Where are we going Jesse?"

"I think you should stay with me until we figure this mess out."

Hanzo looked at him sternly, but nodded in submission.

"Alright."

McCree was quiet the rest of the walk to his cabin.

"Thankyou Jesse."

"Don't mention it, and Hanzo? We're gonna figure this out, together. I promise."
