《•A Beautiful Sight• ~Kageyama x Male! Reader~》Chapter 28

"L/n, would you mind helping me with this?" Coach Ukai said. The older one I mean.
I was pretty excited when I saw Karasuno's old coach again....
...After all, he taught me most of what I know about setting.
Hinata apologized for what happened in the gym, so we were alright.
I still don't know how though, but I got dragged into helping him practice his spiking while I was at the Sakanoshita store..
I just wanted some ice cream...
"Hm? Oh, yeah sure thing Coach." I replied.
I got into position as one of the kids threw the ball above my head.
"Third tempo!" The Great Coach Ukai yelled.
I set it to the kid furthest away from me.
Unfortunately, he got blocked...With Hinata's face.
"That's an amazing jump!" The kid exclaimed "Your face went over the net!"
"Well, yeah," Hinata said, with a red face from the ball.
I chuckled. "You alright, Little Giant?"
He gave me a thumbs up.
"And you!" The kid turned to me next. "Your sets are awesome! They're so easy to hit, yet so accurate!"
I rub the back of my neck. "Thanks, kid. You're a pretty strong spiker."
"Thanks!"
Getting into postion again, the ball is thrown over my head.
"Second tempo!"
Once again I set to the kid furthest away from me as his running approach became a bit faster than his last one.
Hinata was still able to block it, but without hitting his face this time.
"Alright, next! First tempo!"
This time, Hinata wasn't able to block the ball.
He looked up with stars in his eyes. I laughed slightly.
I let him talk with the former coach as I returned the ball and walked over to our new one.

"Hey, Coach? You alright? You're thinking pretty deeply there..?"
I received no response so I picked up my bag and went on my phone.
"Hey!"
I look up and see some of the kids running up to me.
"How did you do that?!" The kid I set to asked.
"Do...What..?"
"Make the ball stop!" He exclaimed excitedly.
I was already lost. "When did I make the ball stop..?"
The kid, seeing my confusion, explained. "When you tossed to me, it was like the ball stopped, and for a second, I could see the other side of the net!"
"Uhhh...."
"It can't be one-sided," Ukai said suddenly from beside me. "Hinata, practice here for a bit!" He then ran off.
Raising my eyebrows at him, I turn back to the kids. "Thanks, kid, but I just set like I always do-"
I was cut off when the young Ukai came back and pulled me by my bag.
"L/n come with me!"
__________
I had no idea where we were going, but Coach kept yelling throughout the whole drive.
We finally parked and Ukai bolted out of the car, almost locking me in.
"H-Hey! Wait!" I catch up to him. "Why are we running-?!"
"Kageyama!!!" He yells. "Kageyama! Stop walking and come with me!"
"Coach?! M/n?!" He said surprised.
We finally reached him, as Ukai held him by the shoulders. "A toss that stops!"
Coach, Kageyama and I went to sit in the Sakanoshita store. I finally got my ice cream.
They were discussing about tempos and about that toss that stops at the spiker's point of impact.
I sat there, tuning them out while happily eating my ice cream, when I heard them mention my name.

"L/n here will give you a hand."
"What?"
"Sorry, I wasn't listening. Can you say that again?"
"You'll be helping Kageyama with his sets," Ukai said.
"Oh.." I said in realization. "Wait, why..?"
"Cause you can do it!" Coach exclaimed. "The toss that stops. That's what the kid earlier was talking about!"
"But I just tossed to him how I always set to others.."
"Exactly! It's natural to you! I don't even know how you do that, but if we can get two setters who keep can up with our number 10, we could be an even bigger threat!" He explained.
I didn't really have to think. Of course I was going to help Kageyama. Volleyball means a lot to him. And I can finally be of use to the team.
I smirked. "Is there even a reason to say no?"
"I'll give it a try," Kageyama says as we both get up.
Ukai only smirks back.
__________
Kageyama and I were walking side by side.
"Hey, M/n," he spoke up.
"Yeah?"
"If someone from a different volleyball team..say a powerhouse, asked you to move to their school...Would you say yes?"
"What? Where are you getting this from?" I asked surprised. "Do you want me to move to a different school..?"
"What?! No- It's just..."
"Tobio, listen," I chuckle. "I'm not gonna go anywhere, even if it was a powerhouse. You guys are more than enough for me," I say. "Sure, I don't get to play a lot, but I'm still part of the team, right? "
"Right..."
"So..? Why did you ask me that question?" I ask softly.
"Oikawa...I saw him today. He said he was going to get you to move to Aoba Johsai," he explained. "He said we were wasting your talent, and that you would be better off there..."
"I see...Unfortunately, he's going to have to look for someone else," I say. "Cause I'm staying right here."
I grab his hand, he flinches a little, but relaxes after a few seconds.
"I won't leave, Tobio."
Suddenly, he stops walking and pulls me back into a hug.
"Thank you," he mumbles into my shoulder.
I chuckle and return the gesture.
Then, I feel a weird sensation on my neck...
...Haha, wait a minute...
"IS HE SUCKING ON MY NECK?!"
I grip onto his shirt, trying not to let any weird sounds come out of my mouth.
"U-Uh, T-Tobio...Are you a-alright?" I stutter, trying to sound as normal as possible.
"Where the hell did he learn to do this?!?!"
He tilts my head a little, to give him more access. He sucked harder.
"Keep it PG. Keep it PG. Keep it PG."
"T-Tobio, you're going to leave a mark!" I squeal a little at the end.
Realizing what he's doing, he jumps away and does a full 90° bow.
"I-I'm sorry! I don't know what got into me!" He yells.
"Shh! You're being too loud!" I yelled in a whisper.
"Sorry!"
I sweatdrop. "I-It's okay. No one saw us...I think."
He straightened his back and apologized once more, with a very much red face.
"It's a good thing it's dark, or else someone would've spotted us..." I say. "Let's wait until we're a bit older to do stuff like that...Okay..?"
He nodded furiously.
"Is there a mark..?"
He looks at my neck and shakes his head. Both of us sigh in relief.
We calmed down and begin walking next to each other again, our hands together as we talked about volleyball strategies.
The tingling sensation never leaving my neck.
"Huh...."

To The Far Shore
Post apocalyptic Oregon Trail. The apocalypse has come and gone. And come back again, and left again... nobody really knows how often. Nothing lasts forever, but nothing is ever completely gone. Which is a shame for young Mazelton, as his family has been around a terribly long time, and made an astonishing amount of enemies. Millenia's worth. So he has to run- from mobs, cannibals, soldiers, sailors, cholera, cattle, thieving sales-monks, starvation, mechanical horrors, vengeful spirits, negotiating your own marriage, and poison of every sort. Fortunately, his not terribly nice family has trained him well in the arts of core polishing. Or as you and I might know it- turning radioactive pellets into useful tools. And weapons. Updates Monday-Wednesday-Friday. Usual defensive tags applied. The goal isn't exactly family friendly, but you have probably seen worse on network TV. After the watershed. Not full blown HBO, let's say. This is the first novel I am sharing publicly, so feedback is very much appreciated and encouraged. Act 1 of the novel is completed, but do please let me know what works, what doesn't, and what you would like to see more of. Thank you, and Enjoy!
