"You and Pansy? What the actual fuck, dude?"

Blaise was staring at Draco wide eyed as he entered the dormitory later that night.

"It's nobody else's business who I decide to be with." Draco huffed, throwing himself angrily onto his bed as he started to loosen his tie.

"It is when you're making a show of shoving your tongue down her throat in front of the rest of us." Blaise muttered, disgust evident in his voice. "What about Aurora, man? It's going to kill her."

"She should of thought of that before she chose Potter over me."

"Are you kidding me? The girl loves you! Whatever you think is going on between her and Potter it is all in your head."

"She kissed him! She told me herself earlier!"

"She told you? So she was sorry? Made a huge mistake and told you straight away?"

Draco nodded slowly, not liking where Blaise was going with this.

"Dude, you were blanking her all because she wanted to study. You know Cho was, too? Look, I love you man but I'm telling you, you're going about this all the wrong way. You don't want Pansy anymore than I do, so quit using her to make Aurora jealous before everyone ends up with their hearts trampled on."

As Blaise turned his back on him to go to the bathroom, Draco suddenly felt sick. He delved into his pocket and clasped his fingers around the moonstone, closing his eyes as he thought about her. His Aurora.

Except she wasn't his anymore.

That night Draco wept silent tears as he pictured Potter touching her and kissing her.

The problem was it didn't matter how sorry she was, because he didn't think he could ever erase the image.

If only it had been anyone other than Potter.

I woke up the following morning feeling as though I had been repeatedly run over by a bus.

My heart clenched painfully as I remembered Draco's hurtful words of the previous night.

"He might have had time to cool down by now," Cho offered gently. "Now that he's slept on it."

I could only pray she was right. It was all I had left to hope for.

But, as we entered the Great Hall, I saw a sight that made me feel as though someone had just punched me very, very hard in the stomach.

"Don't look!" Cho quickly said, trying desperately to wheel me back round.

But it was too late. I had already seen Pansy on Draco's lap. I had already seen them hungrily kissing one another as though they could find their breakfast in each others mouths.

My heart had already been shattered so many times that I didn't think it could break any more.

But it did.

Draco pushed her off in time to see Aurora's face crumple into broken tears, before she wheeled on the spot and ran out, Cho chasing after her.

Draco's heart gave a horrific twist and he suddenly wanted to take back the last twenty four hours and start all over again.

"You've made your fucking point now!" Blaise snarled angrily. "Now get off of one another and let the rest of us finish our breakfast without feeling the need to puke."

Draco had never heard his friend sound so angry with him before.

"Oh Blaise, don't be such a spoil sport," Pansy tittered as she clambered off Draco's lap. "We're celebrating our reunion, aren't we Drakie?"

She sidled up next to him, stroking her fingers through his hair. The stench of her perfume made his eyes water and he wondered if he would be able to stomach his breakfast with her sitting so close.

"Ummm, yeah." He muttered, sighing heavily as he started to butter a slice of toast. It was really quite a difficult thing to do with Pansy fawning all over him and he felt the familiar flicker of irritation that she had always sparked in him.

Sighing, Draco threw down his toast and stared sadly at the spot where Aurora had just been.

This was all such a fucking mess.

"I can't do this, Cho," I cried, crying into her shirt as she held me.

"You've got to pull yourself together. You can't skip Umbridge's classes. We need to not give her reason to give you a detention!"

"But I can't face him. I can't face them. How could he do this to me Cho? I made one mistake which I regretted instantly. But what he's doing - it's... it's-"

I broke down as a fresh wave of tears hit me. The image of Draco and Pansy going furiously at it at the breakfast table making me want to vomit.

"He's being a cruel git because his pride has been knocked." Cho seethed, grabbing my shoulders and shaking me slightly. "He's not interested in Pansy in the slightest. He's hurting you because you hurt him. Only he's got to do it better because that's Draco Malfoy for you. Now, dry your eyes and march right in that classroom with your head held high, girl. You've been through worse than this. Don't let a fifteen year old arrogant twat rule your heart. He's not worth it."

Nodding, I wiped my sleeves across my cheeks. Cho gave me an encouraging smile and patted me on the back as I led the way out of the bathroom.

She was right. I had to get past this. There was a war going on and I needed to focus on fighting. I needed to think about Cedric.

I stood outside the classroom door and closed my eyes.

And then I entered.

"Oh come on, Drakie," Pansy cajoled, running her fingers through his hair as she nibbled on his neck. "How about we make use of that bathroom?"

Draco shifted uncomfortably on the sofa, not tearing his eyes away from the dancing flames. He had been thinking about Aurora, about her cold, steely expression in Defence class that morning.

"What's wrong, Drakie? Don't make out you're shy. You were happy to fuck that creature!"

"Don't call her that!" Draco spat, his chest heaving heavily in fury.

Pansy gasped, sitting back as hurt and anger flickered across her face.

Draco stood up, pacing the floor in front of the fireplace. "I can't do this Pansy, I'm sorry I just can't."

"But it was you who came to me!" Pansy whimpered, looking up at him desperately.

"I know, I'm sorry. I shouldn't have done that. I was angry. I wanted to hurt her."

And that he did. And how he absolutely hated himself for it. He suddenly felt like he couldn't breathe. He pulled at his tie, trying to loosen it. Panic constricted his chest.

"Drakie?"

But he ignored her as he staggered for the exit. He needed to get out of here. He needed to be alone. He needed his Aurora.

He stumbled out into the corridor, leaning against the wall, gasping for air.

He had fucked up big time.
