《The Diggory Sister || Draco Malfoy》17 - Blaise's Helping Hand

"Better cross your legs, dude. Maxime's just walked in with a pair of nail scissors."
Draco rolled his eyes as Blaise chuckled away. This was the fourth time he had cracked this joke in the past week.
It had been the talk of the castle, more so than Potter's 'heroics' during the second task.
And for the first time in his life, Draco wished it was Potter that was the subject on everybody's lips, not him.
As a result of Madame Maxime's outburst, and of the alarming fact that two fourteen year olds were almost caught fornicating upon school property, Dumbledore had issued a series of sex education classes, to be taken by all third, years and above. No exceptions.
And it didn't help that that the little ounce of respect he had earned off of Cedric during the second task had swiftly vanished upon hearing the news that Draco had been caught canoodling with his half naked little sister.
"Anyone would think it was a crime to have biological urges!" Draco snapped feeling his tether fraying dangerously.
"No, but it is a crime to have sex before the age of consent, man. Didn't you learn anything in Snape's Sex Ed class yesterday?"
And that was another thing. Dumbledore had delegated the task of teaching these lessons to the Heads of Houses. To Draco's utter mortification, Snape had made him sit up front with him during the class and pass him props.
He was terrified to even get caught looking in Aurora's direction anymore, let alone risk any kind of physical contact.
He glanced frustratedly up at the Hufflepuff table where Aurora was sitting having dinner with Cedric. As if sensing his gaze, she glanced back over her shoulder and gave him a small smile. His stomach gave a little flip and he felt his own lips tugging up at the corners in response.

Unfortunately, Cedric noticed his little sister's attention being drawn else where and glared daggers at Draco until he looked away.
"Aw, man, I kind of feel for you both," Blaise murmured, leaning across the table for the gravy, "young love and the whole world against you. Now you know how Romeo and Juliet must have felt."
"Who?"
But Blaise just shook his head and chuckled.
...
My heart tugged sadly as Draco was forced to look away by my big brother.
"I won't have him making eyes at you whilst I'm sitting right here!" Cedric growled, angrily dishing mushrooms onto my plate.
"He wasn't making eyes at me - we were just smiling! Or is that not allowed anymore?!" I sighed frustratedly. I loved Cedric, but I was getting fed up with his overly protective big brother routine. It was just embarrassing.
"Yes, leave them alone, Ced," Cho, who was sat on his other side, piped up, placing a hand on his. "You know what it's like to be in love."
"In love?! THEY ARE ONLY FOURTEEN YEARS OLD!" He bellowed, going beetroot red in the face.
The whole hall went quiet as all eyes turned to us. I closed my own eyes in utter mortification. It could not have been clearer who Cedric was going on about. I dared not even look back at the Slytherin table.
"Cedric!" Cho hissed furiously.
Tears of humiliation pricked at my eyes as the sound of murmurs started, and I could hear people mutter 'Diggory's sister' and someone even distinctly said the word 'slapper'.
Not being able to look at anyone, I pushed my chair back, and practically ran out of the hall before the tears could fall from my eyes.
...
Draco wanted so much to go after her.
But he knew he would only be adding fuel to the already raging fire if he was seen running after her.

He felt furious with Cedric. And with whoever called her a slapper. Aurora was anything but that. And she didn't deserve any of this.
Sighing, Blaise immediately got to his feet. "Finish up your dinner and then go to the Owlery."
"What? And why on earth would I want to do that?" Draco snipped, looking up at his friend in bafflement.
"Just do it. And don't say I never do anything for you."
Draco watched as Blaise took off out of the hall. Shrugging his shoulders, he roughly sawed into his steak, all the while wondering desperately if Aurora was all right.
When he opened the door to the Owlery, at the top of the West Tower, just fifteen minutes later, he was surprised to see not just Blaise standing there, but Aurora too.
Their eyes met, and Draco's heart immediately leapt with joy.
"I'll keep watch at the bottom," Blaise said, stepping over to him and smacking him on the shoulder. "If anyone tries to come up, I'll tell them one of the owls have eaten something rotten and is suffering the effects. You've got twenty minutes. Use the time wisely."
He carried on past and closed the door behind him, leaving just Draco and Aurora stood amongst a bunch of smelly owls.
They smiled shyly at one another. Draco itched to go to her, to kiss her and hold her in his arms. But instead, he stayed where he was, too afraid of her reaction if he did.
"Are you okay?" He asked, swallowing. This was the first time they had been alone since the carriage.
She shook her head, and Draco was dismayed to see her beautiful dark eyes watering. "No, I've missed you, Draco."
And then he couldn't bear it any longer. He crossed the room, being careful not to stand in the revolting owl droppings and dead mouse carcasses that littered the filthy floor, and pulled her into his arms, kissing her face, and wiping away her tears as he held her tightly against him, feeling his whole body sigh in relief at the feel of her.
"I've missed you too, Aurora," he murmured into her hair, "it's been a shit week."
"You can say that again," she laughed wryly, clinging to him tightly. "I've been put in disgrace in the Beauxbatons carriage, and Cedric keeps threatening to write to dad if I so much as even look in your direction. And you can bet my father will promptly have me removed from Hogwarts if he thinks his daughter is being defiled by a teenage boy."
"Snape made me hold up a banana in front of a whole class while he put a condom on it."
"I-" Aurora's eyes widened up at him in horror, her jaw dropping open. "...Okay, you win."
Draco smirked, and pressed his lips against her forehead. Cupping a hand tenderly to her cheek, he pulled his head back to look intently into her eyes. "The thing is, Aurora, I don't win anything if I don't have you."
He felt her give a little shiver as a small sigh escaped her lips. He leant down, kissing her softly at first, savouring the feel of her and enjoying the tingles shooting throughout his body; and then the rapidly increasing pound of his heart as their tongues took over, joyously dancing together in their reunion.
For the whole twenty minutes, they stood clinging to one another, taking in each others presence, and marvelling at how their bodies simply sang to be together.
Draco had never known anything like it. And as he held her in his arms, he thought, she is mine.
My Aurora.

8 249The Kiss of Two Moons
The last year is upon us. The world is ending, but you already knew that; everyone does. Spring has come, and the flowers have bloomed here in this small town with no name. Thousands of different colours now paint the field that had been coloured by frost alone just yesterday. The townsfolk have gathered by the field to celebrate the beginning of the last spring with so many smiling faces. Tears too. I can’t help but wonder whether the flowers will bloom again before the sky falls upon us. Others must be thinking the same. There are moments when the smiles fade and their eyes glaze over as they realize just how near to the end we are. They forget it again in moments. They make themselves forget. The children aren’t like that, though. They don’t seem to understand, or they’ve come to accept it in a way that their parents just can’t manage to. This one boy actually asked me why I was sad. I had to wonder whether he was actually aware that the world is ending, but it seemed wrong to mention it. I ended up just telling him that I was waiting for someone, and he scampered off, wearing a silly smile. I can’t help but feel jealous of him. The beginning of next spring; the day that the world ends. It seems so far away, yet so close. Wherever you are now, I have to ask, how are you spending your last spring? Did you get to see the flowers bloom? Did you smile? Did you cry?
