《REQUIREMENTS | DRACO MALFOY》20 | Cedric And The Person Who Wants To Kill Him

Cedric Diggory was one of the people who heard the fight between me and Harry a few minutes early, and he was also one of the people who heard me claim that the switching of my robes was a simple mistake.
But now, considering he was staring at Draco and I in absolute horror, he knows I'm a liar.
And that I was snogging Draco.
"Bloody hell," I swore under my breath, my hands breaking out from where they were previously clutched onto Draco's robes, "please kill me."
Cedric was paralyzed, staring at the scandal in front of him.
A scandal that consisted of: a sweating Slytherin, wearing a Gryffindor robe, who's hair was about as disheveled as it could possibly be; a Gryffindor, wearing a Slytherin robe, who was pressed up against the stone fountain by that said Slytherin.
"W-wait," the boy stuttered, the golden egg in his arm almost dropping to the floor, "no...just no, no this is wrong—woah, this is just incredibly wrong."
Draco wiped his mouth off with the back of his hand, his eyes narrowed into slits at the boy's words. It was then that I noticed Cedric had a towel hanging off of his shoulder, and was clearly about to take a bath when he discovered us.
He gulped.
"I saw nothing," Diggory said quickly, spinning on his heels and storming out of the bathroom.
This...was a nightmare.
I'd been parading around Draco for almost a month now, and the second I decided to kiss him, someone just happens to be standing there. Someone who knew Harry. Someone who spent the summer with Harry, and was probably off on his way to tell Harry what he saw.
Draco adjusted his tie, clearing his throat, "wait here."
I blinked, "where are you going?"
"To handle something."
And not more than a minute later, Draco was dragging Cedric back into the Prefect's Bathroom by the ear, hissing at the Hufflepuff to stop complaining. Diggory was clutching onto his towel with dear life, the golden egg wrapped inside it like a blanket.

I blinked again.
What am I watching?
Draco forcefully let go of the boy's ear, sending him stumbling back towards the bathroom stalls, and Cedric nearly fell onto his back. He looked like he was about to die.
"Oh, quit whining, Diggory," Draco hissed, "it's not like I ripped your ear out."
That didn't make Cedric feel any better.
"How long has this been going on?" He whimpered, his hazel eyes widening in fear and confusion as he glanced back and forth between me and the Slytherin.
"Well, I've been after her for a year," Draco said bluntly, "but technically only four weeks."
Wait...let's back up.
Did Malfoy just say he's been after me for a year? I mean, I didn't really expect him to say it out loud, but it explained that day in third year where I caught him staring at me. And it also explained why he somehow managed to know my name before we officially met.
Cedric turned his gaze towards me, a sudden scowl on his face.
"I can't believe you're doing this to Harry," he frowned, sucking air through his teeth, "after all he's done for you?"
Not this again.
"I'm sorry what?" I snapped, crossing my arms against my chest, "what exactly has he done for me?"
Cedric looked surprised I didn't just take the criticism and wallow in guilt. I had nothing to be guilty for (in the logical sense), and I wasn't going to pretend that I owed Potter something.
"Well," the Hufflepuff stammered, "I mean he's..."
"Spit it out, Diggory."
"You guys are..were, I mean—"
"Never together in the first place, so don't even try to guilt-trip me, Cedric," I stated harshly, "and why does everything have to involve Harry all the time?"
"Because you're dating Harry, and I caught you and Draco together!"
"I'm not dating Harry!"
"Everyone thinks you are!"

"Yeah, I can't take this anymore," I sighed, rubbing the bridge of my nose in exhaustion, "I'm going to the Astronomy tower to pitch myself off of it, I'll let you know if I survive."
I obviously wasn't going to do that, but Draco took it in the most serious way possible, and gave me a look that said 'don't you dare'. I guess the thought of Cedric bothering me to that extent made him angry, so the boy pushed his blond hair out of his face and yanked Diggory up by the robes.
"You tell anyone about this," he hissed, shoving the Hufflepuff up against the door of a bathroom stall, "and I'll personally see to it that you drown in that bath over there, you hear me?"
Cedric let out a horrified choke, "understood."
Draco didn't seem to care that he understood, because he wanted the boy to swear by it. Until then, I had never seen every bit of joy shrivel out of a Hufflepuff eyes so quickly. Then again, I had also never seen a Slytherin so desperate to murder one.
"You saw nothing, and you heard nothing," Draco growled, "and if you ever utter a single word out of that pretty-boy mouth of yours, I'll find you and kill you in your sleep."
For Godric's sake, the Slytherin was shining through Draco like a disco ball.
It also scared me a tiny bit. Whenever he was mad at me, he'd get slightly aggressive, but he'd never ever hurt or threaten me like he was doing to Cedric now.
This Draco was scarier than Molly Weasley finding out her sons stole a flying car—and that's scarier than everything in the world.
"Please, Malfoy," Cedric pleaded, holding up his hands, "I won't say a word as long as I'm alive."
"Damn right, you won't," Draco said, shoving the boy out of his grip, "now get out of here, you fool."
As Cedric scooped up his towel and his golden egg, he stumbled towards the doorway running for his life. He was almost out into the hallway, but apparently there was a question that was more important.
He came to a skidding stop, turning to look me in the eye.
"Does Potter..." he said cautiously, inching backwards, "at least know about it?"
I stared at the floor, "not entirely."
"Not entirely?"
"Look, I don't know what he thinks," I said, "I'm not indebted to date him, and I don't belong to him, but no, I haven't told him flat out."
That answer was good enough, apparently.
"Right, then," Cedric said, shuffling out of the room, "carry on."
As soon as we were sure he was gone, it was like a weight had been lifted from the room, and we could finally breathe again. I glanced back at Draco, who seemed taken aback. He hated it when I spoke about Harry.
"Bloody Hufflepuffs and loyalty," I swore, kicking my foot against the stall, "I never dated Potter, so I'm not cheating in the slightest."
Draco knew my words were true, but the moment had somehow withered away and we didn't have anything left to say. I exhaled, clasping m hands behind my back in reluctance.
"This was way too close," I said, walking towards the door, "we need to make another list of rules to prevent another situation like this."
Draco's eyes faltered, "what?"
"We need a list regarding our...relationship, not just our friendship."
"Okay."
"Are you mad about it?"
Draco bit his lip slightly, nodding his head. I knew he didn't like the rules, but this situation was proof that they were in place for a reason. The second we broke them, we got caught, and it goes to show how unaccepted the idea of us together was.
And that couldn't happen anymore.
