《Tour Guide | Steve Rogers ✓》Chapter Twenty Four

"Everybody wants a happy ending, right? But it doesn't always roll that way. Maybe this time. I'm hoping if you play this back, it's in celebration."
The living room of the Stark family farm house was crowded with Tony's family all of them silently mourning their loss as they watched the man in question talk about his own death, a way that only Tony would be able to go out on.
Keira, Rhodey, Happy, Pepper and Bea sat side by side on the couch, little Isabella Stark, the daughter of Tony and Keira who Quinn had briefly met sitting between them, completely unsure about why there was so many people in her house and why so many of them were crying.
Quinn Greene stood as Steve Rogers had one arm wrapped firmly around her shoulders, his other arm comforting Aquila. Clint, Bruce and Thor stood not too far away, their own eyes watching the hologram of Tony Stark walk back and forth across the living room. Peter and May Parker stood at the back of the sofa, one of Peter's hands resting on Bea's left shoulder.
"I hope families are reunited, I hope we get it back, and something like a normal version of the planet has been restored. If there ever was such a thing. God, what a world. Universe, now. If you told me ten years ago that we weren't alone, let alone, you know, to this extent, I mean, I wouldn't have been surprised. But come on, you know? The epic forces of darkness and light that have come into play. And, for better or worse, that's the reality Isabella's gonna have to find a way to grow up in."
Quinn looked up at Steve who was having a hard time keeping his emotions in check, who only squeezed her shoulder in response. These times were hard for everyone.
Although Quinn had never really had the chance to know Tony Stark as well as everyone gathered in the room did, he had effected her own life in a way that she would never get the chance to repay him for.
"So, I thought I'd probably better record a little greeting. . . In case of an untimely death on my part. I mean, not that, death at any time isn't untimely. This time travel thing that we're gonna try and pull off tomorrow, it's. . . it's got me scratching my head about the survivability of it all. That's the thing. Then again, that's the hero gig. Part of the journey is the end. What am I even trippin' for? Everything's gonna work out exactly the way it's supposed to."
The hologram version of Tony paused for a moment, before looking straight towards where Isabella Stark was sitting in between Keira and Happy almost like he knew that was where she was going to be sitting.
"I love you 3000."
Tony flipped off the hologram on his end and the final image of Tony Stark slowly disappeared. The family that had gathered could only stand quietly for a moment, eyes never leaving the spot where Tony had just been.

Quinn sent a comforting smile in Aquila's direction as Steve led both of them out of the living room and down to the dock following Keira who held a large bed of flowers and Isabella in the other.
Everyone watched as Keira slowly lowered the bed of flowers into the lake, lying in the middle was a bright yellow diary, Keira's name scribbled across the front along with the first arc reactor that Tony had ever had with the same scripture from Pepper still around the outside.
PROOF THAT TONY STARK HAD A HEART
Rhodey, Happy and Pepper stood behind where Keira, Bea, and Isabella stood. The three of them clutching onto each other tightly, trying their best to hold back tears.
Quinn stood with Steve's left hand held firmly in her own, his other arm still around Aquila as all three of them let tears fall for their fallen friend.
Peter Parker stood not too far back from them, May Parker's arms also wrapped around her nephew's shoulders for comfort.
Bruce, Thor, Stephen Strange and Wong also stood silently in a group together, their eyes never flickering away from the lake before them.
Scott Lang with the Pym family stood off slightly to the side, still mourning the loss of a hero. The Guardians of the Galaxy also stood off to the side, silent with their heads hung low.
Clint's family stood next to T'Challa, Okoye, and Shuri, the small group paying their respects to a man who had risked it all to bring them all back.
Sam, Wanda and Bucky towards the back, all three of them weren't as close to Tony as the rest but still wanted to pay their respects to the man.
Maria Hill stood with Secretary Ross, their eyes cast downward, neither of them daring to look down to the lake.
Carol Danvers stood one of the furtherest back, on the stairs of the Stark Family home veranda. She had known Tony Stark the least out of everyone who had gathered to mourn the hero. But she could still understand their pain and grief, Tony Stark whether he had meant it or not had irreversibly changed their lives in one way of another.
And finally Nick Fury brought up the rear, standing on the veranda of the home. His one good eye fixed on the lake and the people gathered around it. He was the one who had started it all after all, brought together seven people from all different walks of life and expected them to learn to work together. A family had evolved from what had started as a simple idea, it had turned into something so much better.
A group of heroes, the Avengers, a family had gathered one last time around the lake, to farewell the death of one Anthony Edward Stark, the man who had sacrificed everything so they could have it all.
Quinn looked out of the window of the car as they pulled up to their makeshift compound. The decimation of the previous compound was still laid across most of the landscape but both cranes and helicopters were moving around the site, discovering what could be salvaged.

"You know if it's something you want, you could always probably go back."
"Go back where?" Steve asked, pausing from opening the car door.
"Back to the 40's, your old life. Like you were discussing with Bucky earlier."
"Quinnie. . .I."
"I just wanted to let you know that if that's really what you wanted, the choice is there." Quinn replied, kissing Steve quickly before leaving the car.
The two of them walked hand in hand to the small clearing where Bruce Banner, Bucky Barnes, Sam Wilson and Aquila Cadman were all gathered next to the smaller version of the Quantum Tunnel Generator.
"Now, remember. You have to return the stones to the exact moment you got them. Or you're gonna open up a bunch of nasty alternative realities.
"Don't worry, Bruce. Clipping all the branches." Steve said.
"You know, I tried," Bruce continued, looking towards both Steve and Aquila. "When I had the gauntlet, the stones, I really tried to bring her back. I miss them, man."
"Yeah, we all do," Aquila said, shooting them both a smile despite the pain still rooted deeply in her eyes.
"You know, if you want, I can come with you." Sam offered as Steve started on his final wave of goodbyes before heading off to put the Infinity Stones in their original places.
"You're a good man, Sam. This one's on me though." Steve said before turning towards Bucky. "Don't do anything stupid 'till I get back."
"How can I? You're taking all the stupid with you." Bucky joked, pulling Steve into a hug. "Gonna miss you, Buddy."
"It's gonna be okay, Buck," Steve replied before turning back to Quinn, pulling her once more into his tight embrace.
"This won't take long I'll be back before you know it."
"Yeah, sure." Quinn muttered in return.
"What?" Steve asked, not understanding what Quinn had said.
"I just want you to know that the option is always there, if that's what you want to do, alright? It's your choice, I'm not going to mind either way." Quinn whispered back into his ear.
"I love you," Steve whispered back, pressing his lips to hers, gentle as always as first before eventually becoming more passionate.
"I love you too. Stay safe." Quinn replied, bringing his lips to hers one last time before slipping out of Steve's warm embrace allowing him to say his goodbyes to Aquila.
"It's going to be alright, Aquila, yeah? Get out there and do something, go back home and visit your family, start a gym, I don't know! But it is going to all be okay. Oh, before I forget, here." Steve said, handing Aquila an envelope with her name scribbled on the front. "I don't think you need much of an explanation about who that is from."
Steve walked up the stairs to the center of the Quantum Tunnel Generator, the Quantum Suit enveloping his body.
"How long is gonna take?" Sam called out.
"For him? As long as he needs. For us? Five seconds." Bruce said, before turning back up to Steve on the top of the platform. "Ready, Cap? Alright. We'll meet you back here, okay?"
"You bet," Steve said, taking one last look around his closest friends that had gathered to see him off, his eyes lingering a little longer on Quinn and Bucky.
"Going quantum. Three, two, one-"
With another white flash, slightly on the smaller scale this time, Steve was gone, sent into the Quantum Realm once again.
"And returning in five. . . four."
"Three. . . two . . ."
Quinn Greene looked to the ground, breathing out a sigh. Bucky Varnes walked over to the blonde's side throwing an arm around her shoulders reassuringly. They both knew the answer, Steve wasn't coming back.
"One. . ." The machine clicked but nothing happened.
Bruce's eyes widened as he frantically hit over the buttons on the panel.
"Where is he?" Sam demanded.
"I don't know. He blew right past his timestamp. He should be here."
"Well, get him back!" Sam demanded once again.
"Hey, I said, I'm trying!"
"Sam," Bucky said, stepping forward his arm still around Quinn's shoulders.
"I don't think he is coming back." Quinn sighed watching as Sam froze at her words.
"What do you mean?" Bruce asked while still frantically hitting buttons.
"He had his chance at going back, back to his previous life," Aquila added just before the smaller Quatumn Realm Generator clicked once again, revealing Steve with a smile.
Quinn looked up at the generator in complete shock, blinking rapidly at the sight in front of her.
"Hey," Steve said softly, stepping down from the platform, his eyes meeting with Quinn's. "Sorry I took a little longer, I had to take a little detour."
"You didn't end up going back, why?" Sam asked.
"My past life was great but I built a new family, a new life right here. But I think it's time I try some of that life Tony always used to tell me to get. Which reminds me." Steve said, pulling out a bag from beside him, a brand new shield now resting inside, before passing it to Sam. "How does it feel?"
"Like it's someone else's."
"It isn't," Steve replied with a grin, pulling Quinn into his side as she smiled up at him.
"Thank you. I'll do my best."
"And that's why it's yours," Steve said, pulling Sam into a hug, before the entire team joined into the hug as well.
It was all Quinn had ever wanted.

The Dungeon Calls for a Sage
Archimedes was the ego behind one of the most powerful dungeons ever created. He grew and developed his halls, filling them with powerful monsters and beasts, over the course of thousands of years. Forseeing the end of his life, and realizing how pointless his pursuit of power had been, Archimedes destroyed himself, taking the heroes down with him. Still, Archimedes felt despair that he had lived a worthless life as something as pitiful and futile as a dungeon. Sensing his regret and potential, the voice of the world presented Archimedes with the chance to start anew and live a more meaningful life. Thrilled and hopeful for the first time in eons, Archimedes accepted the offer, only to be reborn again as a dungeon core with not a single room or monster to his name.
