《Rick and Morty x Reader Oneshots》Detention (Morty x Reader)

I put my feet up against my desk rebelliously, knowing that the teacher would lose his shit if she caught me. That was the entire point. I wanted so badly to be sent to detention. Everything in my head was screaming at me to do something to get in there. I pushed my feet harder into the desk. It creaked quietly at the force from my shoes.

"Miss (L/N), this is your last warning. Don't push it."

The teacher snarled. I put my feet harder against the wood, making it creak louder this time and give out a crack. It was about to break away from my chair. Then, out of the blue, I kicked with all of my force and the desk broke away from the wood support, toppling over on the ground. Several other kids were holding in laughter as we watched the teacher turn beet red and ball her fists up.

"(Y/N) (L/N)! Detention immediately!"

She screamed. I got up and walked through the spilled contents from my desk, not even bothering to pick anything up, other than my backpack. I followed her down the hall and into the detention room. She watched me like a hawk as I looked around for a certain someone. Luckily, he was sitting by himself at the corner of the room. I noticed him shaking and hurried to get to his side. I took the seat to his right, waiting until the teacher left. The detention monitor was sleeping at the front desk.

"Morty! What did you do to get in here?"

I whisper-screamed. His cheeks started flushing pink and he looked at his desk. I frowned at him.

"I-I-I got into a f-fight."

He stammered, obviously embarrassed. I was in shock for a good moment. Morty wasn't a fighter. He would like to be tough, but, if you took one look at him, you knew that any fight he got into would end poorly in his part.

"Why were you fighting? That isn't you!"

"Somebody s-said something and I-I tried to st-st-stand up!"

He fought back.

"...What got you so mad?"

"S-somebody made fun of y-you."

He squeaked out. I just about burst out laughing.

"Dude, you didn't have to do that! I don't care what other people think about me!"

I told him and gently rested my hand on his small shoulder.

"Well, I care a-about you!"

I felt my face get hot when he said that. He cared that much? About me, of all people? I rubbed his shoulder, trying to get him to finally look at me. It worked. His chocolate brown eyes stared into mine. His brown hair looked a little messier from nervously running his fingers through it. I noticed his cheeks were noticeably redder than they were before.

"Just don't do it again."

I said, and seconds later, I couldn't help it. I leaned in and kissed him. He gasped into the kiss but quickly shut his mouth and kissed back, awkwardly putting his hands on my hips. I wrapped my arms around his back, which was kind of hard to do in the uncomfortable detention chairs. I kept it short and sweet, pulling away after a few seconds.

"Oh geez..."

He mumbled under his breath. I still couldn't help staring at him.

"Hey, Morty?"

His face somehow got redder at the mention of his name. I leaned in towards his face and whispered in his ear.

"I love you."

He held my waist tighter.

"...I-I love y-you too..."
