《Loved Like a Psycho》27: "I love him"
Avneet walked back to her room after when that tiny realization had hit her. Things were starting to make sense. Why did she feel so lonely? Why was she missing him? Why couldn't she sleep without him around all questions had same answer. He treated her so well, he change himself, because a whole new person for her and what did she do? She pushed him away. She denied her feelings until it was so late that he left her.
Avneet closed the door of her room and stared at floor, breathing heavily. Her chest heaving up and down in a failed attempt to calm her down. Avneet finally got out of control she slammed the poor vase, available on the side table, on the wall. It made high pitched shattering noise, she flinched at it. She screamed and tipped the corner table, she started throwing objects here and there.
Why was she doing that? Well, two things. One that she missed him badly and two that she realized her feelings when it was too late. She messed whole room up and sat on the floor holding her head
"I love him" She mumbled inaudibly. She was startled, how low had that sounded "I love Siddharth" She said again, her breath started picking up. She took the stray shard and threw it on the wall.
"I LOVE HIM" She yelled on top of her lungs.
"I FUCKING LOVE HIM. I FULLY COMPLETELY LOVE HIM WITH ALL OF MY EXISTENCE" She cried out loud clutching onto her hair, she was pulling on it so hard that it might as well come off. She sobbed violently, it wasn't a treatment, maybe it was at first but that had converted into love and care, which she had developed for him over the time. Was she so ignorant that she ignored her feelings and named it as a treatment whenever somome called him psycho and she would rage at them, curse them or even beat them. Was she so negligent that she ignored her feelings when she couldn't bare a word against him?
She thought he was offending the beautiful meaning of love by claiming that he loved her. But little did she know she was the one doing it all along. She was offending the meaning of love by brushing it off, by not realizing it when it repeatedly hit her. Not once, not twice but multiple times. Avneet composed herself and stood in front of mirror.
She was messed up, her eyes were puffy and her nose all red. Tear marks were visible on her cheeks. She didn't wash her face.
"You have taken your happiness away from yourself, you deserve to suffer" She said to herself bitterly, looking in the mirror. She punched it and shattered it completely, her hand started to bleed. She held it with other hand and winced in pain. A shard had entered her hand, she pulled it out as she continued to wince and flinch in pain. She tore hem of her shirt and used it as a bandage for herself. She then washed her face and walked out of the washroom. She settled the things back to their places, cleaned the mess and took her mobile sitting on her bed. She dialed Siddharth, rings kept going but he wasn't picking up.
Avneet cursed herself and tried again. She wasn't giving up, she spent fifteen minutes continuously ringing him. He finally picked up. Avneet gasped when she heard his breath on the other side of the phone. Tears started flowing down her cheeks.
"S-siddharth?" She asked, no answer came, just his breaths.

"Talk to me please, where are you?" She asked
"Alive, don't call me again" He said and cut the call before she could say anything. She caught that shakiness which was in his voice when he said that. Avneet stared at her phone, she took it and left. She walked through corridor. A new terror of her was born. She couldn't find Ritika so she stopped a random guy and called him with a point of her finger.
"Where are Ritika and Jannat?" She asked firmly
"I-I saw them in back yard" He said, Avneet patted his back, pushed him away and left. The boy stood there completely frozen by terror. Avneet ran to the back yard, Jannat and Ritika were sitting there doing thier work. Avneet walked up to them, she hesitantly stood there infront of them. Jannat glared at her, Ritika didn't even bother looking at her.
"Whatever it is go away we don't need you here Avneet" Said Ritika still not looking up.
"This is important" Said Avneet composing herself, now was not the time to break down.
"I don't care! My brother is missing! He is fucking missing you get that? No you won't because your thoughts start from psychology and end on psychology THAT'S EXACTLY HOW YOU RUINED HIS LIFE" Ritika yelled at her slamming her hand on the table. She was glaring at Avneet while Avneet just stood there hanging her head low in shame
"You don't know how much I fucking miss him, where he is, how is he doing, I'M DYING TO KNOW AVNEET. Only if you hadn't entered his life, it would have been a lot better" Said Ritika, Jannat had already taken her things and had taken off.
"I called him, he picked up" Said Avneet in low voice before Ritika could start again. She froze, she held Avneet's shoulders.
"Where is he? How is he?" Asked Ritika firmly from her.
"He just said that he was alive and told me not to call him again" Said Avneet, guilt evident in her voice.
"You could have asked where he was! At least he picked your phone Avneet you wasted the opportunity!" Ritika yelled again, Avneet flinched at the pitch of her voice
"I asked! He just cut the call off" Said Avneet in her defense as she shrugged out of her hold.
"I can't take this anymore, they can't find him! HOW IS THAT POSSIBLE I ASKED DAD TO USE ALL THE SOURCE HE CAN TO FIND HIM" Said Ritika in frustration, she started pacing back and forth.
"Okay I can't do this anymore, take me your home" Said Avneet abruptly, Ritika stopped pacing.
"No" She said firmly
"Ritika please! I need to talk to your dad, I can find Siddharth!" Insisted Avneet
"I said no, you can go on your own I'm not helping you. I'll find him on my own" Said Ritika, she flipped her hair and left while dialing a number. Avneet sighed and turned to find Manjul standing there with shock written on his face. Probably heard them talking.
"Come" He said simply and left, Avneet ran after him. He walked outside the college and took his bike. He knew if Avneet decided to do something she would really end up doing it. That's why he was so eager to help her. He beckoned her to sit. She sat without a word and clutched onto him. Manjul drove to Siddharth's mansion, they never exchange a single word. He got off the bike when they reached the house.
"Now I want you to keep your temper in check, otherwise you're free to do anything" He said and took her hand walking in the mansion. Avneet silently followed him.

"Why are you helping me?" Asked Avneet "You could help Ritika"
"Because everyone knows, you are a woman of your words and I know you will find him" He said and took his sun glasses off with one hand while he used the other to ring the bell. They waited until Vrushali Nigam herself opened the door. She probably didn't see Avneet because she engulfed Manjul in a hug.
"Manju darling! Come in come in!" She said eagerly.
"Hello Vru auntie, I brought a friend she needs to talk to Rishu uncle" Said Manjul. Avneet was stunned to hear the Nicknames. Vrushali looked at Avneet in disgust, Avneet bitterly smiled at her.
"Of course come in you two" She said and opened the door wider to let them in "Darling! Someone is here to meet you" She called her husband once they reached the luxurious living room. Avneet stuck with Manjul because she was feeling insecure.
"Have a seat my darlings" She said, Manjul sat down immediately and spread wide on the sofa, Avneet stood awkwardly until he pulled her down to make her sit with him.
"Thanks aunty Vru" He said with a charming grin. Avneet waited impatiently for Mr. Nigam. Manjul and Vrushali were chatting and honestly Vrushali was a whole new person in front of him. Avneet found it disgusting but she was not existing for Vrushali. Manjul dragged Avneet in the conversation a few times but Vrushali acted like she didn't exist.
"Mrs. Nigam can I go to Radhika aunty's room while I wait?" Asked Avneet
"Yea sure go" She said with a wave of her hand not caring at all. Manjul looked at her and immediately got up
"I'll go with you let's go" He said and followed her Vrushali frowned but ignored. They went up into her room. As soon as Avneet opened the door an eerie wave of peace hit her. She closed her eyes and inhaled the jasmine fragrance which was probably the new addition. She entered the room and sat down on her bed.
"Why are we here?" Manjul asked
"Oh yeah! About that" She said and started opening drawers. She shuffled through the things there.
"What are you doing?" Asked Manjul with raised eyebrows.
"Finding something related to Siddharth" She said as she shuffled "Maybe a clue to where I could find him, because your aunty Vru is not helping at all" Said Avneet as she opened the wardrobe. She skipped the clothes and opened the drawers and lockers there.
"Avu, someone could come!" Said Manjul anxiously looking at the door.
"Not that they'd care" Scoffed Avneet "Aha!" She beamed as she found a photo album, she blew the dust off it.
"What is that?" Asked Manjul, Avneet was already sitting cross legged on floor, going through the pictures.
"As expected, photo album of Siddharth and his mother. He's so adorable here" She cooed at the picture of tiny Siddharth in his Mother's arms. She took it out and pocketed it. Of course she needed that picture. Manjul smiled at the picture.
"What is that place?" Asked Manjul as pictures of same water stream repeatedly passed under their eyes. There was a picture of Siddharth sitting on small sign which said 'home ahead' she had taken that with her too.
"I don't know.. " Said Avneet as she turned picture after picture. She finally came across a picture of Siddharth focused on violin. His eyes closed, he was sitting on small white furry mat huge window and wooden wall behind him. Avneet melted looking at it. That place didn't seem like it was in the mansion. She took it out of the album and examined it.
"Where is this place?" Asked Avneet as she handed the picture to Manjul. He squinted his eyes.
"I don't know but I'm sure it's somewhere near trees, because there are trees over there" He said as he used his finger to point at the window. Avneet opened the album and took out the picture of stream, she took out the picture where he was climbing a tree. It all made sense, they probably had another house somewhere and only Rishab Nigam knew.
"Let's go" She said as she closed the album and placed it where it was. The pictures which she had taken, were with her in her pocket. They descended the stairs and found Mr. Nigam already sitting there
Mr. Nigam looked at Avneet with disgust, but he hugged Manjul lovingly as soon as Manjul reached him.
"Rishu uncle, this is Avneet-"
"I know her, why are you here?" He cut Manjul off and turned to Avneet Manjul immediately shut up and waited.
"Sir, I wanted to talk to you..." She said and looked at Vrushali then she added "Alone"
"Alright then come with me" He said and walked away, Avneet followed him. He led her outside and into the huge garden.
"Sir.. I want to find Siddharth" Said Avneet once he stopped walking and turned to face her.
"Well if you didn't know I'm trying" He said carelessly
"But not enough! He's your son!" Said Avneet in rage. Mr. Nigam looked at her with narrow eyes, he wasn't worried at all.
"What do you want me to do?" He asked with a shrug
"I just wanted to ask, is there any place you know that he could go to?" She asked testing him, he had to know about that place.
"I don't know" He said firmly, Avneet resisted an urge to, roll her eyes and yell at him but she had to keep her temper in check.
"Think hard please, I need to find him" Said Avneet desperately almost pleading him. He froze when he heard the desperateness in her voice "Please, I'm scared that he might do something to himself"
"I.. Wait let me think" He said, this time seriously. Avneet felt relief "There was a cabin"
"A cabin?" Asked Avneet
"Yeah a cabin. I don't know where it is but I think Siddharth had given me a map" He said as he started rushing back inside the house. Avneet followed him in hurry. She followed him into his study. He started shuffling through a file which he had recently pulled out from a box. Manjul and Vrushali had come too. Rishab Nigam was finally being serious about his son. He took a small envelope in his hand and smiled.
"Here" He said as he handed Avneet the envelope. She took it and smiled down at him baby hand writing. It said 'Top secret' in bold sloppy letters. She began opening it but Rishab stopped her keeping his hand over hers.
"It's top secret I suggest you take it somewhere secret" He said with a wet chuckle. Avneet realized that he was crying she smiled at him and nodded. Vrushali was stunned at this all. Avneet and Manjul walked past her and to his bike. She opened the letter it was a cutely drawn map. It said Campside Forest in middle, there were three sticks figures holding hands to its entrance. There were footprints drawn to its right and on top of it was written '150 steps! count correctly' and a line with arrow which lead to a hexagon where happy faces were drawn and 'Home' was written
"I think thats where you need to be right now" Said Manjul pointing at the hexagon
"Yeah" Said Avneet in a lost tone.
"I'll drop you, come on" He said and mounted his bike. Avneet smiled at him and sat behind him clutching onto him. They drove off...
