《Loved Like a Psycho》22: Walking Dead

Two days passed after Siddharth's mother's death, he didn't speak a word after that, he was expressionless , he wasn't eating, wasn't talking his blank expression was worrying them all. He was breath in but he wasn't alive, he was dead inside. It was suffocating for Avneet to see him like that, she tried talking to him but he wouldn't respond.
The sun just rose bringing another day. Siddharth who didn't sleep the whole night, got up and freshened up to go for a walk. Before leaving the room he looked at the sleeping figure of Avneet curled into a ball on his bed.
He went out and started walking. Throughout the college, he didn't hear a sound except his own shoes, it was pin drop silence nobody was awake yet. He reached the backyard of the college and sat at one spot still with blank expression, his eyes were watery now with a blink the drops fell on his cheeks.
He sobbed there silently, he wiped the tears as he heard footsteps of jogging, he composed himself and went back to the blank. Reem was jogging there she noticed Siddharth and walked toward him and sat beside him after a lot of hesitation.
"Hi" She said standimg behind him. He didn't respond but stared at one spot blankly. She called again with a press on his shoulder that got him back from the trance and he responded.
"Yeah?" He said snapping his head towards Reem.
'Are ....you okay?" She asked nervously he nodded his head "Okay" She smiled nervously. They fell into silence, reem kept looking at him, she felt bad for him. He suddenly broke the silence.
"See I know I have done a lot bad with you and i am really sorry about that" He said in one breathe in a guilt filled apologetic voice. She couldn't believe her ears, she was hallucinating for sure.
"Sorry? I- I dont think I heard you" She stammered in disbelief.
"I said I'm sorry" He repeated
"Really" Asked Reem. He nodded his head with a fake chuckle.
"Ah its okay" She smiled at him and went away. Siddharth heard her footsteps fading away. Siddharth was still sitting there staring blankly at the small red rose which was just starting to bloom.
Reem went away. She walked inside the dorms and found Jannat and Avneet walking she stopped them to have a talk.
"Hey Avnu hi Jann" She chirped.
"Hi" They replied in unison dully. Reem frowned at their dull greet.
"You two look sad" She said with a pout, they looked at her and sighed in unison.
"Yeah we worried about Sidd " Jannat said.
"Have you seen him somewhere? I can't find him since morning I woke up to an empty bed" Avneet said a little disturbed.
"Yeah he was at the back of college I saw him seating there while I went for a jog" Reem replied.
"I will go there then" Avneet said hurriedly ran away. The girl's eyes followed her as she ran.
"Umm what's up with her, man?" Jannat frowned when Avneet was out of sight.
"What?" Reem asked snapping her head in Jannat's direction.
"See she says she doesn't love him but she acts like he is the only person perfect for hr" Jannat said with an eye roll as she looked at Reem.
"Well ask her to make up her mind then she can't just keep someone hanging" Reem said and frowned at the piece of information jannat had just shared. Jannat nodded but then snapped at her.

"Why are you being so caring toward him?" Jannat asked raising her eye brow.
"Well, he said sorry for all what he did and I think I melted" Reem said and gave a smile.
"He talked?" Jannat asked in a surprised tone.
"Yeah I mean he didn't respond in the beginning though" Reem shrugged.
"You know he didn't speak a word in front of us since two days" Jannat said and looked down at her watch "Okay I will leave now bye" she said and went away.
Siddharth was sitting on a bench in the backyard. He had his eyes fixed on that same rose. Avneet spotted him and ran towards him, she hugged him from behind. He looked at her arms but went back to staring at the small flower. Avneet frowned, she ran her hands on his arms and to his hands which were in his lap. He intertwined the hands and started playing with his fingers
"Siddharth" She whined.
"Hmm" He hummed squeezing her hands, telling her that he was still there in that dead person. Avneet frowned and went in front and leaned before him taking his hands in hers, she pecked his lips.
"I know it's hard for you but please you can't stop living because of it, at least talk behave normally" She said as she turned his face so he could look at her, she raised her eyebrows at him with hope. He got lost in her eyes.
"Avneet " He said after a long pause.
"Yes" She replied playing with his fingers again.
"If you ever have to leave me I will buy you a knife kindly stab me to death" He said blankly with a expressionless face, Avneet frowned at him.
"What the .." she stopped "I swear Siddharth you do anything to yourself once again" She stopped again and thought for a moment.
"Then?" He asked in monotone
"I will get myself arrested saying I am the one who killed you, the police will harm me you know" She threatened. Siddharth snapped at her with intense eyes.
"You will never harm yourself" He said in cold tone he one she used to experience once it scared her for real she gulped the fear and took the gaze from his eyes, he softened and lifter her face from chin "I love you" he said said cupping her face in a melted tone. None of them spoke after that, after few minutes Avneet got up and pulled him to feet, she started dragging him through corridors. they reached the room.
"Get ready you have classes" she said dominantly.
"I don't want to " He said in a tired tone and sat down on the bed.
"Come on Siddharth don't act like a kid, get up and get ready at least for me" She blackmailed. He got up sighing and went inside the washroom, he got ready and came out. They went out for classes and left for their respective classrooms.
Siddharth went inside the classroom and sat in one corner, the teacher still wasn't there a girl came and sat beside him not noticing him probably, it was Aashika she sat there and started talking with few guys. Siddharth ignored and stared at the picture of his mother, he was hiding his phone under the desk staring at the picture with his head down, no one really recognised as he was in a fully changed dressup , he was wearing blue hoodie and a trouser.
"You guys know Siddharth's mom died few days ago" Aashika said in a sad and dull tone.

"He deserves it" A guy spat and laughed along.
"Don't say like that" Aashika revolted in rage.
"Seriously Aash? I mean yeah it's sad but what's up with getting sad for him" One of the girls asked suspiciously.
"I saw him after the body was taken away, he was blank I mean it felt like he was just a moving body with no soul" Aashika shrugged.
"Yeah whatever I am sure he will get over this in two days, he doesn't really have feelings" The girl said again. Siddharth was hearing all of this all along but didn't fell like responding . The teacher came and he stood up as he heard sound of 'Good Morning' making all the people there shocked, they had a death scared expression and why not. He had left his terror in a big amount before Avneet came in his life.
The teacher started his lecture and he blankly looked at the board. The class ended he quietly got out walking through the corridors aimlessly. He just walked and passed the walking students mostly gossiping about him. His head was hung low, he wasn't feeling anything, he was drained out of all kind of emotions. He walked away and entered an empty room, he locked the room from inside, it was dark but he didn't care, he sat in one bench and let out the sobs the grew violently. He cried stomping his hands hard on the desk turning it red.
"I hate myself" He gritted sobbing "It's all because of me, I killed her" He cried and stomped his head on the bench that part of his forehead turned turned blood red "I am a beast she died because of me, just because of me it's all my fault!" He violently cried and his breath hitched. He wiped the tears, composed himself and walked out and started for canteen.
There he found Avneet and few others talking. He joined them and sat beside her. He used his hand to hide his wounded forehead.
"Siddharth" Jannat called but he didn't respond he was lost somewhere.
"Sidd" Bhavesh called but he didn't respond.
"Siddharth" Avneet shook him a little taking him out of the trance. He looked at her. He still kept his hand on his forehead.
"What happened?" Avneet asked worriedly
"Its just aching" He said avoiding the topic. He looked away.
"Let me see" She said forcefully removing the hand and saw that blood red part, her eyes filled with anger "What the bloody hell is this?" she asked fuming
"Nothing" He mumbled
"I asked you something" She gritted
"Nothing Avu I fell" He lied avoiding any eye contact.
"Huh sure, I suggest you tell me the truth" She said and held his chin tightly, she jerked his face towards her pulling his closer to hers. The gang on table was dumbstruck when they saw this change of the tables.
"I hurt my self because my mother died because of me okay!?" He yelled in frustration jerking her hand away.
"And hows that your fault?" She raged getting to her feet.
"Because I am a beast and she just got my part of punishment" He yelled again. Avneet got hold of his chin again
"It's not your fault first and second you're not a beast " She said in a dangerously low tone.
"Leave" He said as her nails were onto his skin painfully
"Okay eat now" Avneet said keeping the food in front of him "We've already eaten"
"No I don't want to eat" He said looking away.
"I said eat it's an order" She said dominant slamming her Han on the table startling him. He sighed and ate unwillingly as he knew he can never win from her. She took his hand the one he was hiding and ran her fingers over the red spot after that she softly pressed his forehead. He finished the food in the most unwilling way possible. Everyone had their jaw drop at what was happening there. Avneet was acting like a psycho and Siddharth was the normal one there. Sort of.
"Can I leave for room now, I am feeling week?" He asked dully once he was done eating. She smiled and nodded. Siddharth got up and left, his hands were deep in his pockets.
"What.. " Said Bhavesh.
"Was.." Said Jannat
"That" Completed Ritika as the three stared at Avneet. She gave them a questioning look and they shook their head, she shrugged and took a glass of water.
"Something is really wrong" Jannat said worriedly "He is behaving weird"
"I know and I am really scared for him " Avneet said
"Give him some time at least, I mean he was really attached to his mom" Bhavesh shrugged.
"Yeah lets see" Avneet said "Jannat I need some notes"
"Yeah lets go to my room then, bye Bhav" Jannat said bidding Bhavesh a goodbye.
They both walked till Jannat's room talking about Siddharth . They entered Jannat gave Avneet the notes and she started taking pictures of them.

A few more days past like this. Avneet ordering Siddharth around forcing him to live. While him being a dead puppet. That night, Siddharth was finding Avneet. He spotted Bhavesh so he went to him. Bhavesh's face lightened up when he saw his best friend walking to him.
"Have you seen Avu?" Siddharth asked in monotone.
"Yeah she is with Jann in our room" Bhavesh replied he wanted to talk but Siddharth already started for Jannat's room. He walked till her room the door was a little ajar and he heard them talking about him.
"Avneet you're leaving him anyways, so why are you behaving so close?" Jannat asked in anger.
"I am not behaving close it's just he needs me now" Avneet said hesitantly.
"He needs you all his life what about that. See if you're leaving him don't waste time, he will break even worse if you extend the span" Jannat said folding her arms.
"See I am doing my job, I told you from the very beginning that I am just giving him counselling. It's nothing else" Avneet said mirroring her position.
"So you don't love him and you will never accept him?" Jannat spat. Avneet froze for a while.
"Yes, yes that's right" Said Avneet slowly looking up at her. nanny face palmed.
Siddharth heard all of it, he was shattered inside even more now, he was already broken but it was breaking every instance now. Why would he live now? For what? And why? He just got to know the reason he still had the courage to breathe and live is just giving him counselling, he was nothing else but a psychopath for her. He soulessly walked away and entered his room. He slammed the door shut.
