《Enda (Boyxboy)》Chapter 48: The Stand (Final Part)

This is for my nation.
My real parents.
Mynx, my little brother.
Ollovis, my adoptive father.
And, my love, Mulnire.
"Light, awaken!" I scream as the elder monk instructed me to. Then feel the power click inside my heart, devouring my body within seconds.
No more pain...no more feelings...
Just power....
Not enough.

"It's him!" I exclaim, or rather Darken exclaims with a huge chuckle.
Eyes burn holes into my fated form. Big white eyes of a bugs stares back at us on the battlefield. We stare back in awe. The one broken bright white wing hanging limply upon Light's back. Darken laughs hysterically. I did that! He tells me. I grimace. My brother.
The white robes on Canton blind us as a barrier of sharp skin piercing air protects his body. I look around, worried. If Darken and Light are brothers in the gods eyes then can't I give my power of Darken to Canton for him to unite the power of light and darkness?
It is not impossible.
I may lose Darken forever.
I may lose Canton forever.
I need to choose.
Power or my brother?

"Enda will fall!! Useless soulless Dragonheart!" A fireball connects with my wing. I wince. Landing on the ground. Glaring at the evil Dragonheart. Then glance to Canton. Shining bright like the sun. I flinch. Slamming my claws into the Dragonheart. His blood painting the ground. He nicks at my neck. I growl. Gritting my teeth.
"Stupid child! You never grow up! Mother died! You should have too!" Favera screams, landing on her feet. Slashing a gust of air towards Canton. He directs it back at her. She hisses. Throwing it back. Before looking at the Dragonheart. I dodge his claws. If the blood on him gets in any wounds, I'm done. "Scarce, get rid of that useless Dragonheart!"
"Sister, sister...." Canton growls through his gritted teeth, flicking a finger at her, dragons made from light tearing off her black cloak. Favera grimaces and hisses, pissed off. "You can't win!"
"Ignorant Brother!!!" Favera twists around on the ground flipping and twirling, shooting elemental bullets towards him. Canton simply flicks them away. Like nothing.
I extend my claws and scrape them across, Scarce's face. He hisses in pain. I flick my claws at him sending his blood into his face. Glaring at him. Focusing my power within. The elder monk told me with Canton beside me. I'm at full power. I just need to use it.

"Stupid girl." Canton snickers, flicking his head towards me and flinging a gust of light towards my heart. My lips curl up.

Mulnire's bronze skin burns white with power and the rainbow scales upon his wings reflect on the rain clouds. A rainbow shining above us. Air armour appears around his face and light armour covers his body. Mulnire lets out a roar and his eyes glisten with power.
Favera hisses, running for Scarce. Hopping onto his neck. They take off. I grit my teeth, dashing for Mulnire, tapping my foot on the ground landing upon my seat on Mulnire's back. Speeding after her and the blood drenched dragon Scarce. The rain thrashing in our faces as we follow her onto the tower top. I land upon the ground without a thud, walking forward towards her. Favera walks towards me. I begin to speed walk then run as she does.
________________________
I run up the stairs in the tower racing to give Canton that last bit of power juice he needs. I want my brother. Power is useless when it comes to family. I skip over the stairs. Running my hand on the wall as I go up and up and up.
Huffing and puffing reaching the top. Laying my eyes on 2 bright orbs bouncing off each other. Mother and Canton. They move at the speed of light fighting.
A roar rumbles past us. Scarce's blood pouring from a wound in his stomach. I use my power to flick it away. Mulnire runs him down. And by down. I mean down to the ground. Scarce hits the ground in a splat. Mulnire begins to fight with demons on the other tower. Flinging them off the top. I dash for the to fighters.
"Darken...please obey me. Let me keep my brother alive, plea-"
"Mynx!!!" Canton screams, a huge sharp spear made of blood and air flies towards me. Canton steps in front of me. Facing me. The spear emerges from Canton's chest stopping close to mine. Blood drips down his mouth in lines then he coughs, it covers his jaw. My mouth trembles.
"Canton!!!" I scream out. Light, Darken hisses, before darkness consumes Cantons body. A black wing springing opposite the white one. Black writing mark up his face in the ancient dragon language. Before the spear falls onto the ground. Canton pushes me aside. I watch in amazement as he walks right up to Favera. Favera stares up into his eyes. Beginning to shake. A hand grips around her neck, black and white ivy spread beginning to eat her skin away. Favera gasps.

"Requiem awaken!!" She commands. I flinch. Canton hits the wall near me. Reaching out, I see the blood flowing out from his wound and watch it form a puddle near his feet. Shaking my head.
"No, Canton." I whisper, afraid.
"Get out of here, Mynx."
"No...I-I won't. Canton I need you!" I shout, scared to lose him.
"Get. Out. Of. Here." He growls.

"Mulnire, this is a command...you will take Mynx and get out of here." I command him using our connection to speak to him in our heads. Mulnire runs in his human form and nods to me. Rushing over to this tower.
I extend my hand and create a black and white blade drenched with all the elements. Walking straight to Favera. She snickers. Running for me. Her bright white hair and green eyes. Nothing but small lights come towards me. I snicker, grinning like an idiot.
"Time for the boom."

The orbs are at it again. They're powers are both on equal ends. Mulnire grabs me and glances at Canton ramming into a wall. I grimace. Reaching for him but Mulnire holds me close and I see Canton try to stand but fall to his knees. I begin to tremble.
"Brother, No!!!!!!" I scream.
Suddenly I am weightless. Mulnire holds me close to him. I look up seeing the ground. He jumped. From that high, he jumped. I weep in tears as my heart throbs. Canton, please. Don't die. I swallow my pride and close my eyes. Landing on Mulnire as we hit the ground like an asteroid.
Hands grab my arm lifting me up as my eyes stay glued on Mulnire laying perfectly still on the ground. Eyes grey and blood trickling down his jaw. Luckie holds me to his chest but I push him away. Seeing a bolt of lightning hit the tower. Watching something rise up.
Favera's sword plunged into Canton's chest. The blackened demonic weapon begins to slowly get emerged in darkness. Favera screams as the darkness grabs onto her hands going up her arms down her body up her neck. Letting out a shriek that could kill gods, Favera turns into nothing but ash. My lip shakes and body trembles. The battlefield tensing up, as the more lightning begins to hit the same spot over and over again. The blade in Canton's chest.
"Canton!!!" I howl.
The Lightning strikes one last night. Before a ball of light and darkness erupts on top the tower. Canton's body disintegrating with the gusts of darkness that spreads across the land from the tower. I am flipped onto Luckie. Then rest my hand on his chest looking up watching the darkness turn the demons into nothing but ash. Another gust from the tower sends me screaming as I fly up. Luckie grabbing my hand flying up along with me.
"Oomph!" Luckie groans, rubbing his head, my eyes on the sudden burst of light. The ash that the darkness left being cleaned up by the light. The sky clearing up and the ground turning into clear perfect untouched land.
Everything's being restored. The light consumes Enda piece by piece. Little by little Enda is being restored. The mountain which the air clan city begins to cave in. My heart drops.
A white tower emerges from the hole. Then the castle, then the trees them the whole city of Aripostale is once again revealed to the world. Lithu shakes his head getting up from the ground glancing at my father.
"What happened?" He asks, running his neck. Father points behind him. Lithu turns around and his mouth hits the ground in awe, "Aripostale, how.....wow."
"One last strike and its complete." A monk says, standing beside other monks.
"Last strike?" I ask. He smiles and ushers to the mountain holding Aripostale high again. One last strike of lightning hits it and one last gust of wind rings through Enda. Small transparent white feathers rain down on the battlefield. Canton's feathers. From his wings. I hold out my hand as one lands and disappears in the palm of my hand. Then I look up, eyes on the feathers falling down like snowflakes.
This is what you wanted the air clan to see again... right brother?
This is what you wanted Enda to see again.....dear brother....
I love you brother....
Thank you.....

Luck And Chronomancy
Time Magic is the best magic as everyone knows, although there are lots of unique Talents in the world. Most people only remember Haste because it is hard to get to higher Phases of Chronomancy. That is still enough to make the Talent iconic. A lucky enough Aleatory Talent can position you for greatness or leave you languishing in obscurity. The only true equality in the world is when that glowing message pops up at 8 years old. Even if it doesn't activate until you are an adult at 16 you still know. Sure you can find a new dungeon spawn and get another chance at a rare Talent, even this one, but you have to already be ready to delve into the *Far Wilds*, which is far easier with wealth or family power. This is the story of where my good fortune took me and the difference it made, even among a party of 7 others including an Arcanist. It is a journey of magic and monsters but also math, which some think is actually worse. Luckily I was born with Intelligence and Focus as my personal traits, and my parents were scholars. Of course Chronomancy can also be a frontline combat talent. Versitility well beyond other Elder Talents like Gravity, Abstraction, or Arcana. Might could have worked for me, too. I also met a runaway princess. All the best adventures have a princess. She hated being a noble and we didn't get married but it still counts. Besides she really filled out our front line. All that Leadership training came in handy. I still don't know where she's from. Who cares? How well Haste goes with giant hammers is what's important. I never learned much about anyone in the party, except the one I grew up with. I'm not a people person. I just wanted to optimize dungeon clearing time. *******Story Details******* No romance, politics, or traumatizing content, slice of life, or even dialogue. 1st person narration, like a guide/adventure log. 2000-7000 words a day, maybe 40-60% rpgish combat log with some reasoning on combat decisions, with the rest character Talent discussion and progression stuff. 8 person party with a decent variety in roles. Party members usually have 2 primary functions. Told from the support/control Chronomancer's perspective. Each party member will have 6 Basic/Background Traits, then 3 actual Talents with abilities. Capstone from their Educational Institution, Arbritrary as a gift from the temples, and Aleatory which is decided at birth, revealed at 8, and activated after adulthood at 16. Aleatory Traits ignore requirements and are random why is why they are so important. They'll gain new Talents from finding Dungeons to consume in the *Wilds*. Mature dungeons in cities can provide *Challenges* to raise the Phase of a Talent, up to 3 times from 1 to 4. Each character will get to roughly 8 non-Trait Talents. Attributes come exclusive from Talents, are required by Talents, and provide various effects as well. I designed about 220 Talents with abilities, 4 in each of 4 phases. "Traits" are just Attribute stuff. I'm not sure how many will be detailed in the story, more than 100 for sure. I used Talents because I want to be free of the legacy of tabletop. Half those rules are just because of the limitations inherent in a pre-computer ttrpg. This story mostly uses combat Talents, although like 1/3 of the 220 are for crafting and other society and economy stuff. If you really wanted to be a Thief you might take Intuition, Awarness, and Might for Basic Traits and Deftness, Manipulation, and Trickery for Family/Education. Then you'd pick Acrobatics, and Climbing for Educational Capstone and Arbitrary traits. You Aleatory Trait might be Shadow(Light/Dark) Magic, Umbramancy. A Bard might swap Dexterity for Charisma, Music for Acrobatics, and have gotten Illusion(Shadow/Sound(Air/Force)) for their Aleatory Trait.

Defenders of Fantasmyth
DROPPED: this story is unfinished and will likely remain that way. If you are looking for quality work that is still being updated, you're better off checking out my fanfiction. No, really. That wasn't a joke. Jakyra, a young-adult coairse* dragon with an affinity for wordplay and skill in fighting, is a pest to her government the Dragon Crown. This odd relationship leads her to make contact with a long-lost magical, draconic construct of great renown called Ismat, leading up to a string of bizarre, humorous, and troublesome events. Chance brings together the impulsive dragon, her quiet, resolute elven friend Sauda, amiable, honor-seeking dwarf Gunnar, and the construct Ismat. The Omniguards, Defenders of Fantasmyth, are born. *No, that is not a typo.

Deviant Rule
When their world changed, everyone began chasing the same thing. The emergence of an energy that could make you strong enough to take anything you wanted changed everyone. They blinded themselves to a part of the world's new truth. For them, the only truth was that the powerful would rule the weak. Alius was someone different from all of them. A deviation from the plan. It made him hated. His only question was why? Why did they think his path was wrong? Maybe... they were the ones who had made a mistake. (The warnings are mainly to give myself creative freedom in the future. While we're here, I would also like to warn you that there will be a decently chaotic release schedule. Add that to the first-time experience and you have a crappy story that might get better. Enjoy what you can!)
