《Enda (Boyxboy)》Chapter 32: A Horrible Change Of Fate...

"Canton!" Daegi says, tapping my shoulder. I huff and peek up at him. Arms flinging around as Zi gives me a piggy back ride. For maybe like 4 hours now. I blink.
"Fuck off." I hiss, tiredly. Then plop my head back onto Zi's shoulder and try to fall back asleep.
"But we're here."
"Hmm?"
Looking up my eyes land upon a huge wooden door with Eagle rock sculptures around the frame. My eyes widen as it opens and eyes stare back at us. The first pair serious and fierce. The other, an extremely happy guy waving happily. Both with orange glossy eyes, bright neon green hair wearing the same white t-shirt and black dress pants. The tall serious one lifts up the happy short guy by his collar and ushers us in. Zi lets my legs go and I dash ahead to follow them into the city.
Behind the wooden door is an entirely new world. Full of grass, butterflies, flowers and children running around in a park. Almost like on Earth. The short one skips with the little kids.
"My name is Baerin. That idiot is Aranok." Baerin points at Aranok trying to fit into a skinny tunnel for kids. His happy face turns freight full. Then cheerful.
"Baerin! Oh my God!" Aranok pulls out a chipmunk that lays in his palms staring at him, "It's fat and too serious, just like you!"
"Fuck o-"
"Aww, look he's kissing my finger." Aranok gushes, the chipmunk chomped down on his finger. I stare, unimpressed and quite shocked. This is our back up. I'm so impressed. Blah. Baerin dashes to Aranok. Aranok's expression turning grim as the small animals bites harder onto his finger, "Baerin!!"
"Fucking animal!" Baerin yells, prying the teeth off his finger and flings the chipmunk like a football into the woods. I stifle a laugh.
Blood drips from Aranok's pierced finger. Aranok's eyes glisten with tears before suddenly being filled with an evil aura. Goosebumps fill my arms as the childish Prince looks very grim. Turning to face Baerin. Baerin starts to change suddenly too. I take back what I said now. Stepping back. Their green hair turns a ghostly white and black, skin pale, fangs peek out from their mouths and the orange in their pupils completely flood their eyes. Glowing grimly.
"Aranok!!" Baerin rushes to Aranok sliding onto his knees and wrapping his arms around his dear twin brother. My mouth dries as Aranok meets eyes with me for an instant. Baerin grabs his head and holds him close, their forms returning to normal.

"Baerin, Aranok!!" A gruff clear voice shouts, children run down the dirt road.
Waving at the figure surrounded by 4 big huge black dogs with swirling black mist around them. Dressed up, black hat, faded silver hair, similar orange eyes, and a black kimono. The Earth King. People walking past us bow and continue on. I look at the twins. Lining up together for their dad to see. Aranok saluting in unison with Baerin. Beside me, Ujik and Dukem kneel down on one knee. The King glares at me. I freeze in place. Shit.
"What do you want, Freedom?" His voice shakes me to my core.
"Um...I..uh.." I stutter, the King crosses his arms, unimpressed.
"Surely you are not here for my idiot sons, are you?"
"Actually...I am."
"Such hesitation. Yes, you too see what idiots they are." Aranok and Baerin groan.
"Daddy?! Daddy?!" A girl with bright sky blue hair, rosy cheeks, pink eyes and a white puffy dress shouts, running down the road. Stopping in front of her dad.
"What is it, my sweet?" The Earth King asks, happily. Scaring me.
"Mommy.."
"My sweet, there's bad news!" A woman similar to the little girl suddenly appears beside him. Teleportation? Another older girl looking like the Queen's mini-me and looks about Daegi's age appears beside her. My shoulders slump. What is this a family reunion?! Fuck!
"What happened?!" Baerin chirps in, frightened. That's bad.
"The King of Enda has been killed!" The Queen says, scared, "It was Oralile and that Islandmin of his. Oralile killed the King and burned the castle down. Why.."
"The castle?!" The King looks suddenly helpless.
"Ya'll know, I'm tryin' da sleep." Luckie cuts in, stretching out. His eyes land on the King and grow wide. "Broder?!"
"Luckie?" The King squints at him.
"Oh no! Book form go book form go, go, go!" Luckie tries to retreat. Failing sadly. "Book form...noooo." The King grabs his collar with one hand and lifts him up about 3 feet off the ground.
"Luckie, you know what's under the fire castle in the underworld right?!"
"Yah, yah broder. Yah, I do. Da dominion of demons and da prison." Luckie cries out, stiff in the air. He yelps as he's thrown aside. The King glares at the ground before looking at me.
"Freedom, this fight is becoming even more serious by the minute. Do you know what the dominion of demons wanted?" The King asks, I open my mouth. "They wanted to come up from below ground and rule Enda. Enslave the people and destroy the beautiful lands. Some of the prisoners are the absolute worst in all of Enda. By worst I mean most powerful and most dangerous. Where is that Prince?!"

"Oralile was tossed aside by the Islandmin as soon as the Dominion rose up." The Queen answers, quickly. Holding onto the Kings hand scared.
"Luckie, get up!" He demands, grabbing Luckie's collar and pulling him into his feet. Luckie looks as if he's drunk trying to do the waltz, with whiplash.
"I am up." He announces, dizzily.
"My King! Demise is here! Oralile is with him! Hurry!" A soldier shouts. I stiffen. Oralile Demise. This really is bad!
"Freedom, come!" He ushers at me. Hurrying away. I race behind him but stop. Turning to look at the guys in the same place.
"Well come on!!"
"Oh right." Dukem responds, shaking his head.
Getting inside the castle, I see that the castle has no big door restricting the people from wandering in and out. A royal family that doesn't hide anything. I smile. This is what I wished for my family but...mm never mind. A new face stares me down. White hair, pale white skin with ice flowing through his veins, ice blue eyes, a strong jaw, and perfectly shaped face. Dressed in white shiny armour that shines brightly. A stone encrypting an unknown language on the loose cotton hood of the armours. Different, they are. I stiffen, seeing Oralile covered in bruises and cuts right across his face. Long gashes from his palms up to his shoulders all in a straight line. Covered in stitches. I plop myself beside the King. The guys stand behind us, intensely concerned about this dangerous change in enemies. Oralile meets my eyes but looks like he's in his own little world. Lips twitching. Leaning his head against Demise's shoulder. Looking like he's lost all hope. Inside I shudder. Where's that over confident guy he used to be? What happened?
"Demise, Oralile under the same roof? The world must've gone crazy." The King says, angry.
"We request the uniting of clans to perish the dominion of demons back into the Underworld." Demise requests, glancing at the lost Oralile. Still looking useless.
"It seems that both you and Freedom are searching for the same story book ending." The King responds, crossing his arms, "An ending that is most unlikely."
"Why? Why can we not gather up the clans?" I ask, confused.
"You are the lost Prince of Enda. And now defeating another Prince is not in your story, defeating demons from the Underworld is. Do you see the mistake in your story, Freedom?"
"Yeah, I-I do." I answer, just noticing. Then look at the King, a grim expression on his face, "I conflicted with the stories happy ending in Favera and told everything to every air clan there. The war, the world...everything. But in truth, I told them because I wanted them to be afraid of returning back to Enda. Afraid that the clan could be wiped out...so my parents and my clan would be safe. But really all I did was scare them into believing they shouldn't return to Enda ever again." I explain, holding my head in my hands, "Why would a Prince do that to his own people?"
"Canton, it's not your fault. You want them to be safe after hearing about the war that almost killed them. The lost Prince is supposed to worry about his kind when there is nearly enough to help aid the end of this war. You weren't selfish. You are a Prince." Suzuki states, putting a hand on my shoulder. I stare up at him.
"Canton?" Oralile's hoarse voice asks, cautiously. I gaze at him.
"Oralile?" I respond, leaning in as he does so. Staring deeply into my eyes. Eyes full of pain.
"Kindermin saved you. He saved you. Kindermin knew who you were when he saved you. The lost Prince. He could have let you die but he didn't. He could have let you die..." Oralile trails off whispering as Demise pulls him to his chest rubbing his back.
"He didn't have to save me. But he did." I repeat, looking at the guys all confused, "Kindermin wanted a fight for Enda. That's why he saved me. He wanted a war everyone would remember."

Displacement
or, Deux Navires Passant dans la Nuit If you wake up in a new world, with only your memories of home to guide you, you have to trust the first people you meet. The first people Leah meets seem to know her - but not her. Leah is thrust into a fighter's role that does not quite suit her, and those who 'rescued' her do their best to help her fit in. They hint at a world that Leah can only vaguely understand without serious research and exploration, but how to do that research, when everyone believes her to be a local of this place, and too many questions might draw unwanted attention? And what about home? The more Leah learns about this world, the less she believes that she woke up on the right side of the bed - or more accurately, on the right side of the conflict. With magic being strictly regulated in her current "home," maybe it's time to uproot and look for a new set of allies... -- Displacement is a queer / lgbt bodyswap isekai: Leah Armande falls out of a Quebecois city into an unfamiliar fantasy world, and Leah Talesh falls out of her adventuring party's homeland and into an unfamiliar industrial world. The story follows both women as they navigate their new surroundings, trying at times to find a way home, at times just to pass for a local, and at times to actually make a life for themselves in their new world. Expect in-depth politics and worldbuilding, sapphic moments, foibles, and far too much time spent either in libraries or convalescing (or sometimes both).
