The Mistake

"My baby you look beautiful!" Grace jumped at the sight of her daughter glowing beautifully in the simple yet elegant silky white wedding dress covering but not completing hiding her baby bump that had started to show.

"Thanks mom." Mindy said getting up from her chair. She checks herself out in the gigantic mirror leaning against the wall.

A month has pass since Mindy announced to everyone she was pregnant. Her parents, including Jonah's mother, went wild as if a circus had come into town and they were part of the act. Immediately, it seems as if the worst of the past was behind her and Jonah, and everyone only cared for what was then.

Bruce was so excited he even gave Jonah a hug and a "good job son". Grace after getting over her excitement phoned her other daughter, Elisa, in California to break the news and boy did that start a whole new commotion of its own. Nina, also did the same by telling her daughter Lillie and the whole house hold. Everyone came together, happy and was a family again.

Both mothers agree to throw a wedding regardless that the two were already married and Jonah couldn't agree more. His wife deserves the fairytale wedding, the best, he thought. At first, Mindy was skeptical about it, only because she was with child. But with the date set for only a month away, her baby bump had only started to show and she became more excited as the date proceed.

Preparations were quickly made in that short period of time, and thanks to the wealth Jonah held, he was able to book the finest hotel in Seattle without being on the waiting list. Since it was winter and the snow had begun to fall, they had no choice but to hold the wedding inside.

"I can't believe my sister finally got hitch... and knocked up." Elisa joked staring at her sister's baby bump.

"Oh shut it." Mindy laughs.

"My precious daughter-in-law. I'm so grateful to have you as my son's partner for the rest of his life. You saved the both of us. Really you did." Nina express staring into Mindy's honey eyes.

"Mom. Thank you." She said trying to hold back tears. There was no way she's going to ruin her makeup - at least not yet.

Lillie was also in the room offering her congratulations to her sister-in-law. She, like everyone else, could not be happier for her and Jonah.

"Come on ladies it's almost time." Bruce said walking into the bridal's room.

Everyone wished Mindy their goodbyes and 'see you laters' before stepping out.

"Hey Mindy, can I talk to you for a second?" Lillie said when everyone had stepped out except her, Mindy and Bruce.

"Uh yeah," she replied, "dad you mind giving us a second?" Bruce nodded and close the door behind him.

"What's up?"

"I just wanted to apologize for not having been there throughout you and Jonah's relationship. And for the way that he treated you. I knew about it but never told you or had anyone to come help you. I'm sorry." Lillie apologize.

Mindy shakes her head before speaking, "Lillie that was in the past and you have nothing to apologize for. If you had done something back then, imagine where Jonah and I would have been now. Most likely not here, him maybe in prison and me, who knows where."

"Maybe you would have been marrying Nate instead." Lillie noted with a hint of sadness in her voice.

"That would never happen," Mindy chuckles, "Nate and I.... we're good friends. The best, and I wouldn't want it any other way. Speaking of Nate, do you know if he's here. I sent him an invitation and tried contacting him multiple times to no success. It would be nice if he can be here."

"I didn't see him earlier, but don't worry he will be." Lillie said unsure. Her heart aches for Nate knowing how much he has been hurting this past month. He even stopped contacting her.

"It's time ladies," Bruce returns.

"See you out there." Lillie smiles at her before leaving.

"Darling you are beautiful." Bruce said enveloping his daughter into his embrace.

"Thanks dad."

"Now you know darling, your mother and I love you with everything in this world, if that man ever slightly mistreats you in anyway, feel free to return to us."

"Thanks daddy, but he won't." Mindy said her tears forming again.

"I know baby. Just in case." He laughs embracing her once more.

"You're ready?"

"As ready as I'll ever be."

Bruce holds out his arm for his daughter, and Mindy gently lays her hand in his arm. They both walk out the room towards the ball room.

-

"You're ready?"

"As ready as I'll ever be."

Jordan ask Jonah as they stand next to each other at the end of the aisle on the right side of the altar with Derek, Elisa's husband. Lillie and Elisa stands on the left side both dress beautifully similar in silk peach pink dresses.

"I can't believe you're actually getting married man!" Jordan exclaimed.

"I can't believe I made you my best man." Jonah said. "And I'm already married."

Jordan rolls his eyes at his best friend. Before he can make a retort, the background music silence as so the crowd. Jonah smooth down his sleek black tuxedo with his sweating palms. He was nervous. After what seem like a long minute, the music starts again and the door to the reception hall open.

Elisa and Derek's six-year-old son comes in with the rings follow by their five-year-old daughter with the flowers. The music switches over to Canon in D and everyone stands up.

Jonah's breath caught in his throat upon seeing Mindy enter with hand in her father's arm. Her brown wavy hair was gently toss over her head with the lightest accessory and no veil to cover the lovely face Jonah adores so much. Her white dress hugs her chest but fell loosely the rest of the way. A proud smile spread across his lips as he thought she really looks like a princess. His eyes are fixated on her. His bride, his wife.

Mindy first blinded by the glamorous lights in the ball room, adjusted her eyes accordingly and when it came too, the first set of eyes she saw, she left it there. The ocean blue orbs that she so loves. She thought he cannot be more handsome this day. A faint blush appears on her cheeks as his eyes burns into hers. Time around them seems to have stop. Her heart exhilarated and before she can stop herself her hands left her father. The bouquet of wild flowers she was holding drops to the floor.

The tear that she had been holding came flowing down her face as she took the first running step to Jonah, her husband. Jonah as if reading the mind of his wife, takes the two steps down the altar and spreads his arms just in time for Mindy to jump into it.

Everyone stares in shock but no one utters a sound. Bruce who was still closer to the entrance smile shaking his head at the two. Both mothers had their hands by their chests squealing at the scene. Jordan fist pumps into the air excited for his friend.

Huge grins spread across their faces as they enjoy each other's warm embrace. Jonah then lets her go enough to see her face only to lock his lips with hers. The taste of salt from their tears mix with happiness felt from deep within them only confirms the love they held for one another.

When their kiss finally broke off, Jonah puts his forehead against her.

"I love you." He said breathlessly.

"I love you." She said the smile returning to her lips.

They once again kiss each other deeply.

"Okay. I now pronounce you Man and Wife. Congratulations!" The wedding officiant announce.

Their kiss breaks into chuckles as everyone breaks into excitement all around them.

-

Nate stands behind a pillar at the back staring at the couple dancing, mainly Mindy. An undying jealousy surge through him. He knows he should be happy for her, but he just can't, at least not his true feelings. On the outside, yes he can play it off but inside he was breaking apart.

"Hey, why don't you go congratulate them?" Lillie suggested coming up behind him with a drink handing it over to him.

His jaws tense and he makes a fist with his other hand before releasing it.

"I should huh?" he said his eyes never leaving them. He downs his drink before handing the cup back to Lillie and head the couple's way.

Mindy and Jonah are holding each other dancing to the music never paying attention to their surroundings.

Nate clears his throat, "May I have the bride's next dance?"

Both Jonah and Mindy stares to face him, Jonah tightening his grip around her the smile in his eyes changing.

"Nate you made it!" Mindy release Jonah and hugs her best friend. Jealousy course through him but he wasn't going to show it not now, but he was sure to punish her later for letting him go so easily.

"Of course I would! What kind of friend would I be?" Nate fakes his whole persona.

"Hun, I'll have this dance with Nate," she said to Jonah.

"But what about me?" he protested like a child.

She chuckles at him. "We have the rest of our lives together."

"Fine." He said, "but hurry." He flashes a look at Nate and Nate did the same before he walked away.

"I finally get you alone." Nate said encircling Mindy's waist with his right hand. "Wow you're really pregnant."

"You're so funny Nate, still your old self always joking and making me laugh."

"Yeah that's all I'm good for."

"Nate don't say that. You're good for everything. You're my best friend."

His jaw tense at the words best friend. "I know I was just joking." He said lightly smiling. "You look beautiful today. Flawless like always."

"Thank you so much."

"I'm happy for you guys Mindy," he lies, "and I'm sorry for how I was acting."

"Again thank you and plus you have nothing to be sorry for okay so let's not talk about that anymore."

"You're right it's a happy event today."

She smiles at him and they continue to dance until the end of the song. When the song ended he lets her go even though he didn't want to.

"Truly Mindy, congratulations my dear friend." He leans in and kiss her on the cheek.

"Thank you for everything." She said.

He turns and walk away from her. She stares at his back sensing the sadness surrounding him.

"Find happiness, Nate."

Nate walks past Jonah before stopping. Jonah saw the whole thing and was obviously jealous when he saw Nate kiss his wife but knew better than to bring it up.

"Jonah, I'm giving her to you now. But don't think for a second I won't take her back if you ever hurt her again." He admitted his loss.

"Don't worry because you won't get the chance." Jonah retorted.

"Love her."

"I will"

"Congratulations." Nate ended the short conversation. An unfamiliar smirk creeps to his face.

He walks to the door and scans the crowd trying to find her. Lillie.

He finally did and when she returns his gaze he walks out the door.

"Thanks for watching Abby mom! Yes, we will. Love you bye!" Mindy hangs up the phone and turns to face Jonah who hasn't been able to keep his hands off her since they arrived at Serene.

"Your parents are the greatest watching that little girl for us and for a whole week too." He said between kisses he plants along her neck.

"Jonah...we haven't even...ah...grab our luggage yet." She said breathlessly. His assaults on her were never ending and she loves every second of it.

"This is all the luggage I need," his voice was husky and low. Picking her up in his arms, he carries her up the stairs to their bedroom.

He gently lays her on the bed and climbs above her making sure not to squish her.

"I love you."

"I love you."

Jonah crushes their lips together immediately entangling their tongues into a dance battle. The sparks that shoot through them is still the same like the first time they kissed. His lips leave her only to trial her neck sending intoxicating shivers down her spine.

He wanted to make love to her but his patience and the bulge in his pants were not having it. His hands found the top of her shirt and in one swift movement he rips her shirt apart exposing her braless chest to him.

"Jo.." Before she can finish, his lips found her still sensitive nipples as his hand works on her taking off her pants.

He only stops for a second to take off his own clothing before attacking her body again. In a swift motion, he plunges himself into her causing her to moan loudly just like he wanted. He waits enjoying the feel of her around him and to control himself from releasing into her right away.

"Sorry baby I can't hold back." Jonah grunts.

He pulls out just to enter her again. This time over and over he pounds into her. Her screams and moans are music to his ears as he brings both of them over the edge of ecstasy.

-

"It's funny how we were here this time last year but for a whole different reason." Mindy said sitting on the swing hanging under the oak tree. "Now that I look back, I'm happy you mistaken my father. Otherwise this would never have happened." She tilts her head back and looks up to Jonah who was standing behind her with his hands on her shoulder.

He leans in and kiss her gently on the mouth. He then walks in front of her kneeling down and grabbing her hands in his.

"It was my luck to have made that mistake but yes now I'm glad I did. You're everything I've ever ask for and more. I love you Mindy." He kisses both of her hands.

"How many days do we have left here?" He said placing his head in her lap.

"Just five, and then we have to return for Nate and Lillie's wedding." Mindy stated combing her fingers through his soft hair.

"Damn them." Jonah said getting up to his feet. "Well then, we better take advantage of this!" His eyes scan over her body already lusting for her touch.

"No Jonah!" she giggles getting out of the swing and stepping away from. "You're an animal!"

"Only for you baby!" he growls.

Laughing, Mindy turns and takes off running. Jonah devilishly smiles at his wife before sprinting after her. Her happy shrieks sing along with the birds as he catches up to her bringing them both down to the grassy earth. Down to happiness.
