Okay I know, sorry for not updating in FOREVER! College has been kicking my butt and I seriously didn't know where I wanted to go with the story that's why I haven't update. But now I think I'm back to my weekly updates! Enjoy. =)
"What do you mean you think he's figure it out? You were supposed to keep an eye on him." Jonah whisper shout through the phone at his sister Lillie.
"Okay I understand." Hanging up the phone he walks out of the bathroom checking to see if Mindy was awake yet.
Her body laid still on the huge bed her breathing at a constant pace letting him know she was still asleep. His heart jumped lightly excited that he will be waking up every morning to her, his wife. But he couldn't help but feel threaten by Nate after his sister said he was on his way back to Seattle.
_
"Help me....no stop." Mindy shakes herself awake from her nightmare. Her breathing was heavy and there were beads of sweats rolling down her temple.
"What's wrong?" Jonah rushes into their bedroom from his office after hearing her cries for help. He moves towards her, but Mindy cringes her body away. A bolt of pain shot at his heart at her reaction to him.
"It...it was nothing. I just had a bad dream." She said. Her stare diverts away from him not wanting to speak about it anymore.
He felt guilty immediately. He knew it had to be about him. "Okay, well, your clothing has been washed and put in the closet and drawers. I'll be in my office, it's right next door. Come by and we can go down for breakfast together."
She just nods her head never looking at him and clutches the blanket against her skin. He took one last worried look at her before walking out of the room.
She slides out of bed and head for the bathroom stopping at the sink. "What am I doing here?" she wondered. "Last night was a mistake." She thinks about her dream, in there Jonah was anything but nice. What scared her the most was he was avoiding her like he had something to hide. Shaking away the thoughts, she hopped into the shower.
When she was done she quickly dress and head for his office knocking lightly on the door.
"Come in."
She strolls in not making contact with his face.
"I have something for you. Here." He said getting up from his chair and opening the cabinet to the left of his desk.
That catches her attention as she stares at him. He pulls out her phone and her laptop which surprises her a lot but she didn't say anything.
"You're my wife now. I would like to know that I can trust you, don't make me take away your communication to the outside world. If I do, you wont get it back a second time. Understand?" Really he didn't care who she converses with, as long as it wasn't other males that didn't have any business talking to her. He wasn't afraid that she was going to call the police, they signed a contract and are legally married.
She once again nods her head at him reaching for her things. "Why aren't you talking to me?" he questioned holding back the items. "Yesterday we were doing just fine."
"It's nothing. Can I call my parents?" She quickly changes the subject.
Giving up for now he motions her phone and laptop towards her. "Yeah, but do it after breakfast."

They walked back to their bedroom so she can place the items in there before going down for breakfast.

After an awkward breakfast with the maids staring her down but not asking her any questions, Mindy finally finds herself alone in her room. Grabbing her phone from the charger she starts to dial her mom's number.
"MINDY! Why haven't you called at all?" Her mother's voice was loud enough to be heard throughout the house she thought.
"Mom..." a smile spread across her face hearing her mother's voice and tears threaten to rush out. "Mom. I miss you."
"Baby what's wrong? Are you okay? Why haven't you contact your father and me for the longest. It's been what months?"
"Mom calm down. I'm sorry a lot of things have just been going on. Is father there with you?"
"No hun he's out at the moment. Now would you like to tell me what's going on?
"I can't explain everything at the moment but I am back in the states." She slowly said unsure if it was okay to tell her mother. "before you go asking questions, let me just say I can't tell you exactly why right now but I promise I will soon."
"Wha...What do you mean back in the states? Like here? Back at home? What's going on? If you are back why haven't you come home? Mindy explain now!" all of her mother's questions demanded answers that she couldn't give which only made her feel guiltier.
"Please mom. Please understand I just can't right now. But I promise to soon enough and I promise to come see you soon. And I'm one hundred percent okay. So please don't worry." She assured her mother.
"Just for now, but you better explain soon. And your father isn't going to like it when he hears about this." Her mother warns.
"Oh and can you not tell dad yet? I don't want him to know. Please mom?" she pleaded.
"Fine." Her mother sighs. "But can you at least promise to keep in touch? I know you are old enough and smart enough to make your own decisions but I'm your mother and I'm worried. Okay?
"Yes mom I promise. I love you."
Jonah walks in just as she hangs up the phone.
"Is everything all right? He questioned. He shifts towards where she was standing but she takes a step back.
"Yeah everything is fine." She's feeling guilty for her actions towards him for some reason. "I didn't tell my parents yet so don't worry."
"What's wrong with you?" he asked grabbing onto her arms before she can step away again.
"I uhhh. Yesterday.... It's not gonna happen again. We hate each other and obviously don't love each other..." she struggles with the words, "so I think when we are alone we shouldn't need to act like the perfect couple. Maybe we should sleep in separate rooms or I can sleep on the couch, even the floor."
He stares at her unblinking and tries to control the fume starting inside of him. She bit at her lips as she awaits his answer. Before she knows it, he pulls her in pressing their lips together, the warmth of his lips sending sparks through her. She tries to fight against him but with her strength to his it was a losing battle. When he finally pulled apart, he held her head steady and their body close.
Staring her straight in the eyes he says, "You think yesterday was fake? You are my wife now. Our feelings may not be in agreement but by no means are we sleeping separately."

She swallowed preparing to speak but before she can he cuts her off, "I have to get to work. I've been away for too long. Do whatever you please here but you are not allow to leave." His voice was stern and ended the conversation. He walks out leaving her there in a daze.
While Jonah was gone, Mindy spent her time getting familiar with the house and its exterior and even introduced herself to the maids of the mansion. She met Agatha who is the head maid, she was a larger lady in her late 50's and has been working for the family for almost two decades. And then there is her right hand maid Charlie, 25, who Mindy thought was the most cheerful lady she's ever met. There was also Linda and Seri who are the cooks and many more.
She sat in the library with a book in hand but not really reading. Her attention was cast out the huge windows staring blankly at the colored sky reminding her that night will soon fall. It was only the clearing of a man's throat that brought her back to reality.
"I brought you some tea, madam." Dexter clears his throat. He sets the cup on the small round table next to her.
"Umm thanks." She didn't know what to say to the man standing in front of her. She had only met him once yesterday and that was when she first arrived. All she knew was he played an important role in this household and that his name was Dexter if she remembered correctly.
"I don't believe we've had a proper introduction, madam." Dexter mention as he sees her shift nervously in the chair. "I'm Dexter, the head butler here. I oversee everything in this mansion aside from master himself and his mother. And of course now you, madam."
"Sorry for not properly introducing myself yesterday. I'm Mindy. There's no need to be so formal with me sir...I mean Dexter." She replies to him. She was very fond of his accent not having a clue where it was from.
"Oh but I must. I'm so happy master has finally decided to settle down with such a lovely woman as yourself. I've heard many great things about you and your family." Although he was confused as to why Jonah has decided to married the daughter of the man he called his sworn enemy. When Jonah mentioned her name to him, he didn't think much of it but then later recalled that it was the family he's been vengeful towards. What he does know is that his master was in love with the woman.
"Thank you." She hesitantly said wondering if he was clueless to Jonah's vengeance against her family.
"Well I'll let you be. Master should be home shortly although sometimes he does tend to work late. If he does, would you prefer to have dinner without him?"
"No that's fine I can wait for him. Thanks Dexter." She smiled at him. He wasn't as scary as she thought he'd be. And with that he exits the library.
-
It was already past night fall when Jonah returned. The time was half past ten when he walked through the doors and was quickly greeted by Dexter.
"Late night Master? I conclude that you have already consume dinner?" he questions his master, although he already knows Jonah's routine.
"Yes Dexter, where is she?" He replied with a hint of exhaustion in his voice. There was a lot of work to catch up on since he's been gone for a while.
"You mean, your wife, Madam Mindy. She's been in the library drowning herself in endless books waiting for you to return so you both can have dinner together but someone didn't have the curtesy to call and say he wasn't going to make it. I presume she is still there. But if you mean Agatha, she's snoring loud as a lion in her den also known as bed." Dexter concluded.
"WHAT! You didn't feed her dinner?" He accused Dexter ignoring his sarcasm about Agatha.
"It's not my fault I thought you would return to have dinner with your wife on her first day here. I insisted she eat when you didn't show but the lady insisted she waits for your return. Like I said common curtesy. You have a wife now. CALL." Dexter argued. He takes hold of Jonah's bag and jacket and ignore the rolls of his eyes.
"Don't push it old man." Jonah annoyed because he was right, stormed off in the direction of the library.
Stopping at the two large oak door, he pushes one side open and was met with darkness except for a table light illuminating near the windows. He walked towards the huge arm chair positioned facing the view outside expecting to see Mindy indulge in a book. He halts his steps beside the chair upon laying eyes on her curled up body sleeping soundly with a book laid on her lap. Taking in the stunning beauty in front of him, he scoops her little frame into his arms and head in the direction of their bedroom.
He gently laid her on the bed pulling the covers over her body. Pushing her hair away from her face, he places a kiss on her forehead. Looking at her, he thinks about how much he loves her.
"I'll make everything right again. I promise." He whispered to her.
-
The next morning Jonah calls for Dexter to his office.
"Yes master. How can I serve you this fine morning?"
"You're driving me today." Jonah said. He grabs his briefcase on his desk and walks towards the door where Dexter was standing.
Dexter nodded. "I'll go prepare the car."
In the car, Dexter drives towards the company.
"We are not going to work today. Go to the Young resident." Jonah orders. His gaze was somewhere out the window with a hint of nervousness in his eyes.
"You mean Bruce Young? May I ask why?" Dexter wasn't aware of this so the change in schedule threw him off.
Taking a deep breath, he says, "It's time I properly ask for his daughter's hand."
-
Jonah and Dexter pulled up to the Young residence's gated house. Shaking the nerves off of him one more time, Jonah steps out of the car. He and Dexter both walks through the front lawn. With each moving pavement his steps seem to become heavier until they reach the porch. Dexter turn to his master looking for approval to knock and was answered with a light nod.
After only some seconds, the door swung open and standing there was what Jonah thought an almost exact replica of Mindy just some 20 plus years older. He was lost for words.
"Hi can I help you?" Grace, Mindy's mother, gracefully smile at the two man at her doorstep.
Jonah quickly regain his composure. "Hello, you must be Mrs. Young. Is your husband home by chance?"
"Yeah. Just a sec." She turns away from the door. "Bruce! Bruce honey there's guest here to see you." She shouted loud enough for the neighbors to hear. Jonah giggles to himself, now knowing where Mindy got that loud voice from a little body from.
A minute later Bruce emerges from the hall. "Who is it hun?" he wipes his hands on a dirty towel. He had been out back working on the house. He was taken back seeing who was at the door but replaces his confusion with a warm smile.
"Hello Mr. Chamber. To what do I owe this surprising visit?" Bruce said extending his hand.
"What! Is this who I think it is? Nina's son, the Jonah Chambers?" Grace turn to ask her husband.
"The one and only." Jonah replied to her. He takes in Bruce's hand and shakes it firmly. For the first time he wasn't disgusted at seeing the man. The last time was when he had bought his business. Jonah wanted no more then to make up for his mistake and unforgivable behavior and is ready to beg on his knees if that was what he had to do to keep the man's daughter.
"Lord it is!" she pulls Jonah in for a hug squeezing him tightly before letting go which surprises Jonah tremendously. "Well how rude of us. Come on in." She steps back gesturing for them to come in.
Grace had them seated on the living room couch while she grabbed some drinks quickly returning with some orange juice and strawberries.
Looking at Dexter who was still standing she said, "No guest of mine is going to stand up while everyone is seated enjoying refreshments. Sit."
"Ma'am with all due resp.." Dexter started.
"I said sit." She cuts him off.
Jonah chuckles at this. "Its okay Dexter. Sorry for the late introduction but this is Dexter. Our butler." Grace smile and hands him a drink then positions herself next to her husband.
"Is there something wrong Mr. Chambers?" Bruce started off. He was worried that Jonah had changed his mind and wanted the debt that he owes Jonah now.
"Please just call me Jonah. But yes something did happen that I believe needs your attention. Both of you." His gaze shift from Bruce to Grace. "I married your daughter."
