《Accidentally Knocked Up》13

I couldn't stop myself from crying. My hormones could have chosen anytime to rear its ugly head, but she chooses now. Darren must think I'm a nutcase right now. He gives me such a mind-blowing orgasm and here I am crying. Fucking crying.
"I'm sorry." Darren apologies for God knows what this time, I'm sick of hearing it.
"Please stop saying sorry." I sniffle.
"I can't help it. I just keep fucking up with you." He whispers. Oh, so he thinks me crying is because of him. I should tell him it's not because of him but these pregnancy hormones of mine. I don't think I can take any more of his I'm sorry. "Move in with me."
I untangle myself from his arms, fixing my clothing. I think I heard what he said, but I can't be 100% sure. I mean this has to be some kind of joke. It has to be.
"Say that again?" I ask, watching him tuck himself back into his slacks.
"Move in with me,"
"Darren I don't know you." we don't know each other.
"More of a reason why we should live together--just until the baby is born," he adds, but he and I both know that won't be the case. If I were to move in now, I wouldn't want to move out and he wouldn't want that either. I've always dreamed of having my own family. Maybe not as soon as it's happening now, but I do want one. After everything Darren went through with Selena, I can only imagine what is going through his head. "Just give it—me a chance, please. Actions speak louder than words, correct? So let me show you just how sorry I am."
"I think you just did," I mumble. A slight blush hits my cheeks. "Let me marinate on it and get back to you. Moving in together for five months isn't something neither one of us should take lightly." I don't want to move in with him. The last thing I want is for another human being to invade my space. I only have five months before the little one invades every aspect of my life. Darren says he'll only give me until the end of this week to make a decision.
"Was the logistics division, soul-sucking?" he asks changing the topic.
"Uh, I wouldn't say soul-sucking—Mr. Kramer just runs his floor without happy feelings, if that makes sense." I feel my dress sticking to my vagina and groan. I didn't clean up—he didn't clean me up. This was one of the newer dresses I purchased all thanks to my growing belly.
"Austin isn't—"
"Hold that thought. I need to clean up." I send him a tight smile. He points to a door off in the corner, letting me know it was his personal bathroom. Not wasting a second more I grab my purse making a beeline for the bathroom. Flicking on the light, I move to the mirror. Way to go Alise you look thoroughly and freshly fucked. I work on cleaning myself when I hear Darren's phone ring. Caroline's voice fills the air. The two are going back and forth—their banter is like siblings who like to piss each other off.

His laughter hits my ears, I guess Caroline said something amusing to him. "I will call a cleaning crew. You don't have to worry about it. I don't know why you did it in the first place. Trying to make me seem like a tyrant of a boss."
Cleaning myself up the best I can, I wait a moment to collect my thoughts and exit the bathroom. Darren picks up the phone as he sees me leave the bathroom.
"I will be working from the conference room today. You can set that up." He hangs up and smiles at me. "All good? Or would you like some help?" He winks at me.
"All good." I blush.
I'm turning into some horny teenager again.
"So, do you have anything you need me to do--work-wise? I heard the Norway project hasn't been going smoothly, anything I can help with?" I learned just a few weeks ago Darren turned down the Norway trip and Mr. Beckett went instead. Caroline may have mentioned in passing that Darren had something more important to take care of here. "Why did you turn down the Norway project?" curiosity got the best of me.
He raises his eyebrows at me. Darren is the most handsome man I've ever laid eyes on. His brownish-blonde hair is neatly cut and for the record, I never thought the gel combed over hair was not my thing, but on him it is. Everything about Darren was it for me. I just don't want to admit it. I don't want to cave in so early with him, but with my hormones and the sudden alpha attitude of his—I'm caving, fast.
"Have you been checking up on me?" he asks.
"No, Caroline likes to talk that's all." Which isn't a lie. I steered clear of all things Darren for the past two months. It was painful enough not to have him around when he was needed. "I didn't give you any thought as you did for me." See I have a problem with backhanded comments—I'm working on it I promise.
Darren's jaw tightens. "I'll be working out the conference room today. I will have Caroline set you up in your old office—the stench of your vomit will be bothersome if we stay and not have a thorough cleaning done." I watch as he picks up his MacBook, notepad, and a few files. "I won't be having lunch today, so you're free to eat lunch with your peers today."
I give him a thumbs up. I know he is in his feelings so I rather not say anything else. He kisses me on the cheek, before leaving the office. Okay, so he wasn't that mad at my comment. If he is willing to give this a chance, I should at least meet him halfway. A one-night stand has turned into a lifelong commitment between us. We have a little nugget that will be counting on us until the end of time.

The rest of the day passes in a blink of an eye. At five I quickly pack up my things, hopefully, I can catch Darren before he leaves for the day. I would be lying to say he wasn't on my mind for the last seven hours. Every time a cool breeze brushed across my exposed pussy, Darren came to mind immediately. After seven hours of being turned on with no release—I wasn't a happy camper.
"Whoa, where's the fire?" Caroline looks up from her desk as I take long strides to the conference room.
"Trying to catch Darren before he leaves," I admit. No use in lying to her, she has already seen us coming undone with one another.
"Sorry to burst your bubble, but he left about an hour ago." She saw the disappointment on my face. "I think though, he went to the marketing floor. Don't look too happy, he might have left the building." She adds, but the smile wasn't wiping off my face until I knew for sure Darren wasn't here. I still had to see for myself.
Exiting the elevator on the marketing floor, one would think they are in a new building. Everything on this floor screams beauty. The photos hanging on the walls are breathtaking. There wasn't a cubicle in sight either. It was just three large glass tables that had some computers on them. The layout of this floor was open and inviting. The marketing team always seemed happy and now I can see why. There are a few offices on this floor, but the one I need to find would be Mr. Beckett's—that only makes sense Darren would be there.
"Hey, Alsie, what brings you here?" Kenza asks. Now Kenza is a sight to see. A real beauty if you ask me. I heard she has been working at the company since it first opened. She's been Vincent's assistant and only assistant at the company. Kudos to her.
"I was looking for Darren—I mean Mr. Reed. Caroline said he came down here about an hour ago."
"He left already."
"Oh," I couldn't hide the disappointment in my voice. "Thank you."
"No problem, is there anything I can help you with?" Kenza asks happily and I want to wipe that smile off her face. It's nothing to be happy about right now. My ticket to the big O has left for the day and didn't have the decency to tell me.
"No thank you. Have a good day Kenza." I wave bye.
The elevator dings and it's almost at capacity, but I still manage to squeeze myself inside. I need out of this building quickly. The lobby is busy with employees coming and going. I hear laughter and freeze, it's Darren. I look over to my left and there he is in all his glory with the other executives. I swear these guys are always with one another. If three of them weren't married I would think they all had a thing for each other.
Mr. Sawyer spots me first heading their way. He says something and all eyes are on me. Darren smiles at me. I continue walking towards him, I wish he would just meet me halfway. Doesn't he know the others can be a bit intimidating? The guys say hello and I greet them back respectfully. I look back over to Darren.
"Can we talk?" I ask. He nods his head but doesn't make a move to leave the others and they don't make a move to leave either. "Alone," I add.
"Right, I'm so used to the spouses saying whatever they want in front of everyone. Let's talk over here." He places his hand on my lower back escorting us a few feet from the guys. "Is everything alright?" he looks to my stomach.
"No, i—I—would you like to come home with me today?" I ask. I wasn't prepared for what happened next. Mr. Sawyer is in between coughing and choking. I look to see the guys moved a little closer to where we're standing. This can't be happening. How old are they? Grabbing Darren by hand, I pull him further away, making sure the others didn't follow. "How annoying," I mumble and Darren laughs.
"Please forgive the guys. We've been close for decades—at times the guys and I have to remember boundaries. I will talk to them." He says. "Do you need help with anything at home? I was going for dinner at Chase's house—you can come if you like."
I pat his pocket, where I think my panties are. "I need a lot of help." I look him in the eyes and he slowly nods his head, understanding exactly what I want and need from him.
He takes my hand in his, moving quickly across the lobby.
"Dude, where you going?!" Mr. Tucker asks as we pass them by.
"Raincheck on the dinner." He rushes out. I have to jog a bit to keep up with Darren. In all honestly, I'm surprised he didn't throw me over his shoulder and run out of the building.
"Did you drive to work?" Darren asks already pulling his keys out of his pocket as we exit the building. Shaking my head no, he clicks a button on his key fob, opening the door for me. The sense of urgency in his movements throws me off. I guess I wasn't the only one greedily wanting round two.
He rushes to the driver's side. "We're going to my place—our place." He says putting the car in drive.

8 834The Kiss of Two Moons
The last year is upon us. The world is ending, but you already knew that; everyone does. Spring has come, and the flowers have bloomed here in this small town with no name. Thousands of different colours now paint the field that had been coloured by frost alone just yesterday. The townsfolk have gathered by the field to celebrate the beginning of the last spring with so many smiling faces. Tears too. I can’t help but wonder whether the flowers will bloom again before the sky falls upon us. Others must be thinking the same. There are moments when the smiles fade and their eyes glaze over as they realize just how near to the end we are. They forget it again in moments. They make themselves forget. The children aren’t like that, though. They don’t seem to understand, or they’ve come to accept it in a way that their parents just can’t manage to. This one boy actually asked me why I was sad. I had to wonder whether he was actually aware that the world is ending, but it seemed wrong to mention it. I ended up just telling him that I was waiting for someone, and he scampered off, wearing a silly smile. I can’t help but feel jealous of him. The beginning of next spring; the day that the world ends. It seems so far away, yet so close. Wherever you are now, I have to ask, how are you spending your last spring? Did you get to see the flowers bloom? Did you smile? Did you cry?
