"Gonta, you know about the letters written in the courtyard, right?" Shuichi asked
"Yeah...but it sorta different now. On way here, Gonta go see writing in courtyard... and it have more writing this time."
"More writing?" I questioned
"Gonta no could understand what writing mean, but maybe.... Maybe it message from the dead? Maybe everyone leave message for us that say, 'Hey! We alive!'?"
"What does the message say now?" I asked Gonta
"Th, Wor, s, ne, i, ma. That's letters on it, Gonta don't know what words it supposed to be"
"Hmm, maybe Shuichi could figure it out?"
"I don't know... I mean... a message from everyone who died..?" Shuichi said, but it sounded more like a question
"Cuz no one here write it, did they? So someone else musta write it, right?" Gonta replied
"Are you saying a dead person hiding in the school wrote that message? I'm other words...it's a message from the dead?" Tsumugi questioned
"Either way, there's nothing more divine than being reunited with a friend." Said Angie. Then she picked up the necronomicon.
"Angie... whatever are you planning to do with that? Are you... actually planning to preform the ritual? You do know it's a motive, yes?" Kiyo said
"But perhaps it's a motive that's dangerous to ignore, rather than dangerous to use. For example, maybe the people who've died are actually alive... and if we don't preform the ritual, maybe they will be killed for certain this time?" Keebo mentioned
"Hm, it would be a problem if we allowed four potential survivors to die. Nyahaha. You're so smart for telling us, Gonta. You're a saviour to those four people." Angie added, and then preceded to give Gonta a hug.
"Are you stupid? How can you say that when we saw them die right in front of us!? Kaede and Kirumi were very much alive, how could their execution be just an imitation?? I can't say the same for Rantaro and Ryoma, but I highly doubt it's just an 'accurate imitation.' You guys aren't thinking logically. You create unrealistic theories just because you don't want to face the harsh reality of our situation." I slightly raised my voice when I spoke.
"Oh no, no, Y/n. You've got it all wrong! You can't possible deny our theory. I mean, I thought you would want them to be alive too." Said Angie
"I want that more than anything. But I'm not going to get my hopes up for something that's obviously fake."

"Y/n, we were 17 Ultimate students who got kidnapped by a bear, and forced to play a killing game. We're in a school that's in the middle of who knows where, and yet you still choose not to believe me? We are in a crazy situation, anything can happen." Angie replied, the other student just silently watched us
"...." I stayed quiet
"Maybe now you'll take our 'unrealistic theories' into consideration." Angie paused for a moment before continuing. "Oh yeah. Why don't you join our student council, Gonta?"
"Yeah! It'd be really reassuring if you were part of the student council, Gonta!" Tsumugi spoke up
"Mhm... you will use your power for the peace of the academy." Himiko added
"Nyahahaha! See how much everyone needs you, Gonta? You should definitely join." Angie persuaded
"Okay! Gonta join student council too!"
"Wait, before all of that, what exactly is this 'student council'? Is that why you've been acting weird—" Shuichi asked
"Last night, Angie summoned us to discuss how we can eradicate the killing game." Keebo explained
"Me, Keebo...Tenko, and Tsumugi." Himiko named
"And we arrived to a conclusion!" Tenko added. "This is the Ultimate Academy Student Council, with Angie Yonaga as our president!"
"We've all banded together under the leadership of President Angie!" Tsumugi said
"Our platform...is the wholesale eradication of the killing game." Keebo said
"Nyeh... Our student council promises a killing game-free Ultimate Academy." Said Himiko
"Out of all people, you chose Angie for the student council president?" I questioned
"Yes, there can be no harmony between us if we keep saying different things." Keebo replied
"Oh, shut up!" Kokichi suddenly yelled
"Well, it's called the student council, but all the decision-making is done by Atua." Angie added
"But since Angie can speak with Atua, she's the only one worthy of leading the council." Said Keebo, Himiko and Tsumugi nodded
"Ah geez, they've been totally brainwashed." Kokichi remarked
"Kehehe... Angie has spread her influence before we'd even realized. But it makes sense if you think about it. This place has all the conditions for a cult to form. The fear of a death that cannot be avoided... Cults are born from a desire to escape that." Kiyo spoke up
"So she's using this situation to take over the school and make us dependant on "Atua." Said Kokichi
"Using' is a rude way to describe it. The president wants peace for this school, and we all agree with her noble wisdom." Keebo corrected

"I didn't think Tenko would be brainwashed too.." I said quietly in a disappointed manner, but some people seemed to hear me
"Huh? Wh-Why?" Tenko asked
"Because you and Angie were fighting over Himiko, were you not?" Kiyo responded
"Wh-Who cares about that...? I...finally realized how great Atua is.." Tenko seemed nervous, she would even glance at me every few seconds but would quickly look away.
Soon after, we all went back to talking about the resurrection ritual. Most of us were against it, the only ones who really believed it were the student council people..
——
It was the next morning, and as usual we all had to meet up in the dining hall. I saw Shuichi on my way there, so we ended up walking together. However the second we stepped in, loud yelling could be heard.
"Quit messing around! Don't just do whatever you want!" It was Kaito.
"Hmmm? But I have Atua's blessing." Angie replied calmly
"Yeah! We have Atua's blessing! And I'll throw any degenerate who won't shut up about it!" Tenko added
Shuichi and I just stood there, very confused. The fighting went on for a couple more minutes before we could even ask what was happening.
"Kaito, what the hell is happening?" I walked up to him, Shuichi following next to me.
"These guys did something unbelievable. They blocked the manhole that leads to the underground!"
"Gonta put heavy rocks on top of manhole, so no one can use it anymore."
"Why...would you do that?" Shuichi asked
"Cuz the manhole is a reminder of our desire to leave this place. We don't want another tragedy to happen again, like what happened to Kaede."
"You said it, Angie! We need to forget all about that underground tunnel and start fresh!" Said Tenko
"Wait! You can't just do whatever you want without asking everyone's opinion on it first!?" I said
"It certainly is important to hear everyone's opinion, but if we did, nothing would get done. That's why we just decided to obey the student council president! If it's Angie, then she'll make the right decision! She can hear Atua, after all!" Tsumugi replied
"Gosh, I'm so sick and tired of your bullshit, first of all, who decided whatever Atua says is right!? How are you gonna completely give yourself to a god you know nothing about!? And why did you pick Tenko to brainwash!?!?" I yelled out in frustration, my voice getting shaky as my eyes started to water. The room went completely silent, everyone clearly stunned by my sudden outburst.
"But we do know something about Atua! Angie sai—"
"Shut up!!" I yelled at Tsumugi before she could finish her sentence.
'I wasn't mad at them covering the manhole, I could honestly care less about that. But this whole student council thing is annoying me..I mean, Tenko wont even talk to me anymore.' I thought.
Without saying another word, I ran out of the room. I didn't know where I was going, but I just didn't wanna be in the dining hall.
——
I ended up back in my room. I was curled up on my bed, lightly sobbing. I had calmed myself down and I wasn't as mad as before, but now I'm just sad that Tenko chose Angie and her student council over me...maybe because Himiko was there.
I was completely lost in my own thought that I didn't hear the knocking at my door. It was only when I heard someone speak up that I was brought back to reality.
"Geez, you'd think because I actually knocked this time that she'd open the door for me, guess not!" I could already tell it was Kokichi, but I didn't really want to face him right now.
"Judging by your outburst earlier, I'm guessing you're sad about Tenko joining the student council?" Kokichi walked towards the bed and sat next to me
"I don't care if she's in that stupid council, I just wish she didn't completely forget about me the second she joined it." I replied as I sat up
"Don't you think you overreacted a little tho?" He asked
"Yeah, maybe...I was just caught up in the moment I guess"
"Wellll...who cares about her when you have me!" he looked at me with a playful smile on his face, but then his expression changed. "In all seriousness though, don't waste your time trying to get Tenko back if she's treating you like this. If you were part of my secret organization, you would be treated like a queen! Nishishi~ Just saying.."
"I'd never thought I would see you being genuinely serious, and you're kinda complementing me on top of that! Shocker—"
"ANYWAY!! The Monokubs have another flashback light, but Shuichi suggested that everyone should be there. So I came to get you! C'mon we gotta go, quick!" Kokichi grabbed my arm before I could even say anything and dragged me all the way back to the dining hall.
