——
We were given the Monokuma file, which supposedly had all the info about the victim.
The victim: Rantaro Amami
Ultimate Talent: ???
The victim's body was discovered in the library.
Estimated time of death is 9:10 p.m.
The victim was subjected to blunt force trauma to the back of the skull. Resulting in cranial fractures and immediate death. No other injuries were found.
The room was dead silent as everyone read the file. I picked my head up and noticed just about everyone had a sad expression on their face. The realization that we were all in a killing game was starting to finally settle in on us. To think that one of us in this room killed Rantaro... it was so... surreal. Words can't even describe how much I wish I wasn't in this situation.
"Rantaro...is really dead." Tsumugi broke the silence. Shifting everyone attention away from the file.
"This is...the mastermind's fault... The mastermind killed Rantaro..." Kaede spoke quietly
"....Mastermind? I'm sorry, what are we talking about?" Keebo asked
"Kaede, please explain what's going on.. in detail." I say. Kaede then began to explain everything, with Shuichi joining in to help.
"Ah, so that's what happened. I hoped you guys would at least tell me you were planning that.." I was a bit disappointed. Since Me, Kaede and Shuichi all met at the same time, why did they just exclude me from their plan? I guess they trusted each other more..
"Sorry, it's just you were always with kokichi—" Kaede looked guilty, while Shuichi didn't even dare to speak.
"So you used those cameras I modified for this bullshit?!" Miu shouted
"But, why keep this from all of us?" Kaito asked
"Because theres a possibility that one of us is the mastermind. They probably didn't want us to start fighting over who it was." I respond, Kaede and Shuichi nodded in agreement.
"But if there are cameras, won't this case be solved really easily? Aw maaan, that's so boring!" Kokichi pouted
"Your amusement is the least of our concerns! We need to check the cameras right now!" Tenko said, slightly raising her voice.

We all agreed and Shuichi went to go get the cameras. Once he came back, Monophanie appeared and offered to develop the cameras for us so we can focus on the investigation. Ignoring Kaede's and Shuichi's protests to not take the cameras, she took them anyways and left.
"Awww, there she goes." Angie said
"No... that was important evidence." Kaede looked down to the floor, disappointed
"I'm sorry...I..was being careless." Shuichi pulled down his hat just enough to cover his face.
"Hey, don't worry. She said she'll give the photos back and she said she had to follow the rules, so I don't think the evidence will be destroyed." I tried to comfort the both them. The small sound of chatter started to fill the room, replacing the silence.
"Before we start, I'd like to suggest that we not investigate by ourselves." Kirumi spoke up
"Huh? Why?" Gonta asked
"If we let the culprit work by themselves, they might try and destroy evidence, right?" I answer
"Oh, you're right... since the culprit is one of us..." Tsumugi added. Soon after she finished speaking, people started getting in pairs, and I felt a hand on my shoulder.
"Y/nnn!~ Investigate with me, alright?" It was kokichi
"What if I want to investigate with Tenko—"
"She's already with Angie! Everyone's already in groups, sooo might as well be with me!" He was acting like a child. Always wanting attention.
"Fine." I reply with a sigh. And he just responded with his classic laugh
——
After a while of investigating the crime scene, questioning people, and being questioned myself the Monokubs made an announcement that the photos were ready, and to meet at the warehouse. When we got there I noticed that Kaede and Shuichi had just arrived as well.
We received the pictures in three difference envelopes. Once we did, the rest of the students walked in.
"Nishishi, how exciting. I wanna see the dumb look on the culprit's face." Kokichi said
"Let's look at the photos taken by the camera near the front entrance first." Kaede grabbed the envelope that said 'front entrance' and opened it to see four pictures.
Looking at the first picture, you could see Kaede, Shuichi, Kaito and Tenko. Running through the doors of the library, presumably right before they discovered Rantaro's body.

The second picture shows Gonta, Angie, Maki, Himiko and.. Me.
"Oh, it's a picture of us running into the library after we heard Tenko scream. That...doesn't help us at all. Show us the next picture" I say
"Yeah, okay" Kaede complies
The third picture was just everyone else running into the library after the body discovery announcement
And finally, the fourth picture was just a close up on Shuichi's face..? Apparently he just tripped on one of the sensors when he was removing the cameras.
"Well, that wasn't much help.." I mumble
"Let's examine the photos taken by the camera near the rear entrance, then." Kirumi suggested
"Hm... only two photos were taken by the camera pointed at the rear entrance. Let's see the first picture.." Kaede said
The first picture...it was Rantaro. He was walking into the rear entrance.
"So Rantaro went in through the rear entrance. Perhaps so no one would see him... " Shuichi spoke
"So that means he was killed in the library after going there of his own will..." Korekiyo pointed out
"Anyway, let's move on to the next one! Maybe it'll show the mastermind!" Kaede took out the second photo. But much to our dismay, it was just another close up photo of Shuichi when he was removing the camera.
"Wh-What does this mean? They're not in either the front or rear entrance pictures..." Tenko seemed worried
"Yeah, that's pretty odd. Let's look at the pictures from the hidden door camera, hopefully we'll get something out of that." I say, looking over to Kaede as she once again took out the first photo.
It was Rantaro.. again. But this time he was moving the bookcase.
"But...if Rantaro was the one who moved the bookcase, then..." I didn't finish my sentence, I was in pure shock.
"He must've known about the hidden door." Kokichi added
"Could the culprit have gone into the hidden door?" Ryoma asked
"Yes, that is a possibility." Keebo answered
"For now, let us see the next picture. There is one remaining, isn't there?" Korekiyo said
As we took a look at the second picture, it wasn't Shuichi this time, it was rantaro. He had obviously noticed the camera and looked like he was trying to remove it. He was also holding something in his hands.
"Huh? What's Rantaro doing?" Kaito asked
"He's reaching for the camera, maybe trying to remove it..?" I say a bit unsure
"Ah, I did notice something while I was removing the camera... The security sensor for this camera was switched off." Shuichi said
"I'm that case, this photo was probably taken just before the sensor was turned off" Kokichi said
"What happened to the culprit!? How come they're not in any of the photos!?" Tenko shouted out of frustration
"This last photo just have been taken shortly before Rantaro was killed... if so, then the culprit should be pictured right behind him in this photo." Kirumi said
"Then...where's the culprit." I ask
After kaede put all the photos back in the envelope, a silence once again creeped back into the room. Everyone was disappointed, scared, frustrated..
"So we gained no new clues...and we still don't know who the culprit is." Maki spoke up
"Aha-haha! What a fuckin' waste!" Miu added
"Did she really develop all the photos? Maybe she got rid of the ones that showed the culprit?" Tenko asked
"Hmph! How rude. I developed all the film that I was given." Monophanie popped up into the room, surprising us by her sudden arrival. "Those are all the photos from the hidden cameras, so relax and get to deducing." And after that, the bear disappeared again.
"You gotta be kidding me! The culprit's not in any of them!" Kaito yelled, clearly angry.
"Aw maaan, I've only been slacking off cuz I thought those photos would reveal the culprit! Maybe I should've helped y/n.." Kokichi said
"You weren't helping her investigate at all? Typical degenerate." Tenko crossed her arms
"Oh by the way, Rantaro had his monopad the whole time, didn't he? Do you think anything was in it?" Kokichi ignored Tenko's statement
"I doubt it had anything to do with the case. He simply had his Monopad with him." Korekiyo said
"I inspected his Monopad, but I didn't find anything suspicious about it." Shuichi added
"Aw man, so it's got nothing to do with the case. How confusing." Kokichi pouted
Not long after Kokichi spoke. The announcement that we were all dreading....was announced.
"Alright! It's time for what you've all been waiting for— the class trial! Please assemble in front of the shrine of judgement in the courtyard! Puhuhuhu, see you all there!"
Great..

Forced Development (What does it truly mean to live a fulfilling life?)
To get things started I would like to admit that this story does not bring much new to the table when it comes to the over-saturated Litrpg genre in terms of things like mechanics and power systems. Then what exactly am I trying to bring to the table with this work? A nice slow-paced novel about people maturing and growing older think of it as the re: zero or jobless reincarnation of Litrpgs. A story that tries to take into consideration how a worldwide system would affect the economics and culture of a world. A story that is much more character-focused than the typical heavy progression-focused novels this genre is known for. The RPG system, like any good power system, is there to actually explore the themes of the story and not just as a plot device for characters to get stronger. This is a story where we will see the growth of the Mc from being a baby to when he dies of old age. With plenty of heart-racing actions and intriguing plot developments along the way. Exploring themes like; What does it mean to improve at something and what does it mean to mature as a person? How does magic, the constant threat of monsters and people so much stronger than the average joe that they can destroy countries affect one's culture both on the micro and the macro scale? How people are affected by the culture in general? Generational trauma Nature vs Nurture Talent vs hard work What is morality, society, and people's opinions on both? What does it mean to be human and what does it mean to be alive in the context of a world with multiple sapient species vastly different from one another in basic biology? All these questions are going to be explored from multiple angles using the system as a catalyst for those discussions. So if any of does questions sound interesting to you what are you waiting for, I'm sure you are going to love this story. PS - Chapter come out every Friday at about the same time.
