Ali's pov

I laugh with Luke. "I can't believe that my best friend is Cato's mate" I gasp "she's going to become my real sister!" that's amazing! We always thought of ourselves as sisters but now we actually will be.

"Is there a way to dissolve mates? Or reject them might be a better word?" He gives me a very sad look and says "please don't reject me" in a quiet voice. I gasp and quickly hug him.

"Don't worry I was just wondering if they could I'm not planning on it I would never do that to you." I think he gets calmer with my touch.

"One of the mates can reject the other. Before the Mating process is completed. But it's very painful for both parties, but once partial mating, the bite. They can't go back."

I thought for a minute "is it common for mates to reject each other?" he pauses and thinks about it for a minute.

"No the only time that I've ever heard of rejecting I made is when one of them is human and can't feel as strong of a bond but it's usually because the supernatural being like a demon or Angel even vampire werewolf doesn't want human mate. Then they can reject them but it won't be painful for the human."

He you pauses and thinks for a couple seconds "at least it won't be physically painful" his wording confuses me a little so I give him a questioning look he sighs and continues.

"I've heard of a couple humans being rejected and they didn't know what was going on but sometimes experienced major depression after but I didn't know why so in that sense it can be painful."

It's a serious topic but I can't help but laugh, I could never picture Amy rejecting her soulmate. She's a romantic at heart who really believes in Supernatural stuff so I assume that she would accept them immediately.

I look back at Luke he's giving me an odd look "what's so funny?" He questions "I was thinking about the thought of Amie rejecting Cato, you don't know Amie very well but she would never reject her mate and I thought it was funny trying to imagine her trying. She's just so small and cute but so fiery. Although..."

I realized belatedly "what about Mackenzie?" Luke arches and eyebrow "who?" He has clearly forgotten that Amy has a boyfriend. "You know Mackenzie Amies boyfriend" his eyes widen for a fraction of a second as in return to normal.

"Well if you say that she won't reject him then she will break up with Mackenzie right?" "I don't know" I reply "she really liked him she even thought about getting married to him although he's a little bit of a scaredy-cat to ask her the question...

But yeah maybe she would break up with him if she knew that Cato was her soulmate. She is a romantic" Luke size "well that's good." I realized belatedly that I have no idea where we're going so I asked Luke "where are we going?" He smiles and holds my hand.

"We're going to the coronation room, Cato will bring Amie along soon I'm assuming." He pauses "Although he might make someone conjure a wedding dress too." Luke laughs "he's always been less patient then I am."

I give him a funny look raising my eyebrow "how isn't he patient?" Luke squeeze my hand for a second and continues "as soon as he found out you were my mate he kidnapped you. That doesn't sound very patient to me."

I think whenever he thinks of Cato kidnapping me or me not being with him, he gets really angry. I hope that one day that will pass. So I put my unoccupied hand on his shoulder and squeeze it a little "I'm right here, don't worry. I will always be by your side."

I promise as I smile sweetly. I realize that he thinks he is patient "your patient?" I saw jokingly but he takes it seriously.

"I waited for two years for you, Cato is probably going to take your friend tonight. Who do you think is more patient?" He raises an eyebrow. "Fair point" he smirks at me.

We continue to walk in comfortable silents till be reach big doors and stop walking. "This is the throne room where the coronation will be held" a dark look passes over his face.

"What's wrong?" I ask his face looks hard and serious "This is where we killed our father..." he trails off. His eyes look hard as stone with no remorse, it scares me a little.

He blinks and looks down at me his eyes going wide "Please don't be scared of me in sorry" he says hurriedly. "Why did you looks so..... Cold?" He looks away. Why would he look away from me "I... can't tell you" he trails off. My heart squeezes.

Does that mean he can't trust me? "Oh" it comes out in a whisper. I feel so hurt... I think the bond is affecting me more than I can comprehend.

"I trust you" he says bring me out of my reverie "it's just... I don't want you to think of me as a monster" I touch his cheek "you could never be a monster to me."

He slides my hand to his mouth and kisses it "I love you so much.... I did wondering so that my brother could take the throne... And it was not.... an honorable thing to do" I don't really understand what he means but I wait for him to continue.

He bends down and whispers in to my ear "I used him like a puppet to make him give up. So that Cato could kill him, Satan... our father" I shiver, usually it would be from pleaser from our proximity but I shiver from his tone...

He hates his father... If he is Satan is he that bad?... If Luke helped kill him he must be.. But I don't know because I never met him... it doesn't matter I will support Luke.

I wrap my arms around him "it's ok" I know he feels bad about it. No matter what he says. He pulls away from me slightly "I think you know me better then I know myself" he leans down and kisses me.

It's not a passion thrived kiss, it's so much more sweet. It's full of love. We share the kiss for a couple moments before we hear a cough sound behind Luke.

We break apart and look at a smug Cato and a blushing Amie "we are getting married" Cato says while having his arm around Amie. I smile and Luke whisper in my ear "I told you, he's not patient" I laugh a little, it's true.

"So when is it going to happen?" I asked Cato he looks at me smiling "today" my jaw falls down "but you only just met today! And Amie what about Mackenzie?" She Sighs and looks wistful "I really liked him but if he's not my soulmate it's not our fault so I broke up with him."

Even though I was joking with Luke about them breaking up I didn't think she would actually do it especially having only just met Cato.

"If you're sure then do it but Cato" I take a menacing step towards him "if you hurt her I swear on my family's Graves that I will make your life a living hell even if you live in hell I will make your life hell incarnate."

I say in the deep dark voice with Amie hears me she smiles but she looks a little uneasy because I rarely use that voice, it means I'm serious. "Then shall we go inside?"

I say giving a nice smile Cato almost looks as if he peed his pants. I don't think he expected me to say something like that. It just goes to show how far I will go for my friends.

But he knows now and he takes a slight step away from me "yes we should" he responds I take a couple steps back to where Luke is and he places his arm around me putting his hand on my hip and we slowly move into the throne room as the door slowly open.
