《I Can Make You Smile (David x Reader)// CAMP CAMP》20

David was silent, gently rubbing my back as I sobbed into his shirt.
"I've hurt so many people... I don't want to hurt you next." I whispered. "I'd love to quit my job and be with you, David... But I don't want to lose my relationship with my father." I sniffled, looking up to lock eyes with David. "I'm... Sorry for ignoring you this past week, I just... I was afraid of falling for you more and eventually choosing you over my job-"
"(Y/N)." David said, gaining my attention. A shiver went down my spine at him saying my real name. "Who do you chose. Me? ... Or your father?" He asked. I leaned in and gently pressed my lips against his,
"... You, David." I answered. David let out a breath of relief, laughing afterward before scooping me up into his arms. I giggled at the happy action, wiping my tears away.
//
David pulled the blanket over both of us, letting me use his arm as a pillow.
"I'll quit my job tomorrow," I whispered. David gently kissed the top of my head.
"Okay." He smiled. I gently messed with his shirt, my mind going to different things before I laughed under my breath, "what are you laughing at?" He asked.
"I really didn't think you had it in you..."
"What-?"
"That kiss, David. That was pretty aggressive." I chuckled. David's cheeks flushed to a dark pink.
"I-I just got a bit carried a-away." He explained nervously. I chuckled before leaning up and planting a small kiss on his neck,
"It's okay." I smiled before closing my eyes, letting myself drift to sleep.

The next morning I found David already up and ready for the day. I sat up and turned to him, giving a small smile.

"Good~ Morning, (Y/N)!" David smiled, pulling on one of his boots. I slid off the bed, standing up with a bounce,
"Good morning!" I replied, giving him the camp Campbell salute. "So what's the game plan today, chief?" I asked.
"Uhhh, it's actually a Saturday! So we'll just do whatever." David laughed. I brushed out my hair and did daily morning things before going through my clothes for something to change into. I pulled out David's red shirt and a pair of Gwen's shorts before changing.
"Wanna go get breakfast?" I asked. David smiled,
"Of course!" He grinned before leaving the cabin. I followed behind him into the mess hall where I got an apple and David fixed himself a bowl of cereal.
"So~ what do you wanna do?" He asked. I thought for a moment,
"We can go exploring, go hiking, go into town again." I listed. "But I mean, someone also has to watch the kids."
"We can bring the kids with us?" He suggested. I shrugged,
"I guess that's an option." I chuckled.
"Oh no, Max! That'll piss David off!" Niel yelled.
"That's the point, Niel!" Max yelled back. I stood and walked over to the Trio, David following close behind.
"Guys~ What are you talking about~?" I questioned. Max slapped Niel,
"Look what you did!" He scowled.
"Ooo! I wanna hit Niel too!" Nikki yelled. I placed my hands on my hips,
"How about you kids come into town with me and David," I suggested. The three looked to each other,
"I swear- if we're camping again-! I'm killing both of you!" Max threatened. Gwen then walked to us,

"What about killing?" She asked.
"I and David are taking the kids into town," I explained.
"Isn't that unfair for the other kids?" Gwen asked. David paused,
"You're right Gwen, how about taking the rest of the kids somewhere?" David suggested. Gwen groaned,
"Where can I take them?" She asked.
"Maybe the city?" David suggested.
"Yeah, sure." She grumbled before walking away. I took another bite of my apple,
"C'mon kids!" I smiled, walking toward the campmobile.
"I call shotgun!" Nikki yelled, running to the front seat.
"No, Nikki, that seat is for (Y/N)- PUT THE GUN DOWN!" David screamed. Nikki threw the Shotgun off to the side.
"Oh well." She giggled before climbing into the back seat with Max and Niel.
"Where did she get a gun?" I questioned.
"Well, I had on in the trunk," David answered, starting up the car.
"Why...?" I questioned.
"Hunting!" David grinned.
//
"You're just my type!" I sang along with the radio, brushing my fingers underneath David's chin, causing his cheeks to change their color. "Ooh~ You've got a pulse and you are breathing~!" I sang.
The ride was filled with dances, Arguments between Max and Niel, loud singing and screaming from Nikki, and a lot more.
"I think I wanna marry you~!" I sang, pointing to David and singing in a fake microphone.
Another 10 minutes went by and we ended up at the town.
"Kids, stay in the car. (Y/N)it's gonna go into a store and get something," David said, turning off the car.
"I'll be right back," I said, leaning over to give David a peck on the cheek before leaving the vehicle and into Muffin tops (Bakery part that I just added for the fun of it :P)
//
"Did you just call her... (Y/N)?" Niel asked, "As in... A pet name?"
"Did she just kiss your cheek?" Max questioned.
"Did she enter Muffin Tops?" Nikki asked. David looked up at the kids through the review mirror,
"She went into the Bakery part of the club to get some snack cakes," David answered then was quiet.
"You didn't answer me and Niel's question, David!" Max yelled. David stayed silent, starting to flip through radio stations. "David!" Max yelled.
"What? Max!?" He asked.
//
I opened the car door and climbed in, pulling out two honey sticks before handing the rest of the bag of snacks to the kids behind me. I handed a honey stick to David,
"What did I miss?" I teased.
"Are you and David fucki-!?",
"Nothing! You missed nothing." David interrupted.
"Okay?" I questioned. I then leaned forward and messed with the radio.
"David?"
"Yes, Max?" David asked, sweat threatening it's way down his temple.
"What do bees make?" He asked.
"Honey," David answered. I sat up,
"Yes?" I asked.
Max burst into laughter,
"YOU'RE FUCKING DAVID!" He yelled, holding his stomach from his laughter.
"I can't believe what I am hearing," Niel commented.
"So wait? You and David, like-like each other?" She asked. I turned to Nikki, a proud smile on my lips,
"Nikki, I like, like, David," I confirmed, a grin on my lips. Max laughed harder.
Nothing told me to stop my words
I felt like me
I didn't feel like a spy who was going to ruin everything.
I felt like (Y/N)

And so was my jobs worries
