[Chapter 32]

When we jump out of the timestream into London 2166, we are hit by ammo and bombs. Explosions were going off in every direction.

"Oh!" Rip cried as the ship crackles and sparks went flying everywhere. "We're gonna need to find a safe place to settle down, Gideon."

"I don't believe there are any safe places, Captain." Gideon replies. The sky continued to light up with explosions.

"Are we over London yet?" Stein asks.

"What's left of it," Rip replies sullenly.

"Why is London shooting at us?" Jax asks, throwing his hands up in the air.

"It's Savages forces that are doing the shooting. Here is 2166, they've subjugated most of the globe," Rip explains and then the ship gets struck again.

"Maybe picking up here wasn't the brightest idea," Sara said, stating the obvious.

"Unfortunately, we no longer have the luxury of blindly searching for Savage through history," Stein replies.

"Indeed," Rip confirms. "We have to target Savage at the time and place that we're certain he will be, which is--"

"Right before he wastes your family." Mick finishes for Rip.

Everyone on the team looks at Mick with an are you serious right now expression.

"What?" He asks, confused.

"Yes, Mr. Rory. Savage will kill my wife and son in three days time, but we can save them and the world by stopping Savage now," Rip says with confidence.

The ship twists and turns sharply and I inhale sharply when the metal seat belt digs into my wound. Leonard looks at me, with his normal "Captain Cold" expression but I can see the worry deep in his eyes. I shrug off the pain. Most of the team was groaning from hitting their heads.

"Captain, I've managed to slip beneath their artillery fire," Gideon informs us.

"Set us down on the outskirts of the city, Gideon, near the encampment of the remaining forces," Rip commands and stands up. The team and I lift in the seatbelts, most of us stiff and groaning. "We are going to need to proceed swiftly."

"I realize your family is in jeopardy, but perhaps some deliberation--" Stein starts but Rip cuts him off.

"We really don't have the time Martin!" Rip shouts, surprising Stein. "According to Gideon, Savage is going to be out in the open tonight-- vulnerable. Now in order to capture him, I require the services of--"

"Two killers, a klepto, and a pyro?" Mick summarized Sara, Leonard, himself, and me.

"Bingo." Rip said.

"I don't think you should go," Sara tells me.

"I'm fine," I smile up at her, remembering how just not that long ago, she despised me. "Really. It's time to kick Savages ass."

"Here we stand at the edge of history," Savage preaches. "But as tempting as it might be to celebrate our previous victories, it is only for the next and final battle that you will be remembered."

"There's no way we can grab him here," Sara murmurs. The five of us are standing in a row with other soldiers in Savage's army. We are dressed in their uniform and hold guns.

"Not with an army standing between us," Leonard replies. I stood in between them both.

"Shh," Mick shushes us. "I'm trying to listen to this guy." Rip turns his head sharply at Mick.

"He gives a hell of a speech," is Mick's excuse.

"Onward to victory!" shouts Savage.

All of the soldiers step forward with one foot and shoot out their right hand, shouting in unison.

"Oh my god he's a Hitler wannabe," then I pause and think for a second. "Do you think he and Hitler are related?" I ask and I could practically hear everyone roll their eyes. Yep, I'm getting back to my sarcastic self.

"Onward to immortality!" Savage shouts, raising his fist into the air.

All of the soldiers do the same thing again.

"Present arms!" the general of the troops shouts. "Quick time, move!"

"All set on our end," Kendra says into the comms. "Jax is in the Jumpship, ready to extract you guys."

"Especially if-- and by if, I mean when-- this thing goes south," Leonard says.

"Ever the optimist," I sigh, earning a glace from Leonard.

"When was the last time any plan of ours didn't go south?" Sara asks me. She has a point.

The woman that was standing at Savage's side on the stage, probably his right-hand man, walked past us and was looking straight at us, specifically at Leonard, making me narrow my eyes.

"Savage's lady friend just made us," Leonard says.

"Have faith Mr. Snart," Rip replies.

Our line turned and we followed them down a path. We go into a deserted building with little to no light and walk up a flight of stairs.

"If we don't move real soon, we could get ourselves killed," Mick said stiffly.

"How about we play this like Chicago?" Leonard replies.

"Could work," Mick says. Then he turns around swiftly and sticks out his foot, causing Rip to trip over it and fall onto the ground, flat on his face.

We leaned onto the other side of the pillars, straining to stay out of sight.

"What the hell did you do that for?" I hiss at Mick.

Savage and the soldiers stop, staring dead straight on Rip. Meanwhile, Rip stands up and at the same time cocks his laser gun. I know because I hear the hum his futuristic gun makes and because I feel the electricity flowing from in now that it was on.

I wasn't the only one who heard it too. Savage's lady friend whips out a baton and Rip shoots the two nearest soldiers.

"We'll take Savage. You tie up the guards," Leonards says and I laugh.

"You think you can take on Savage? Hell to the no, I'm coming with you and you can't stop me," I say, and race after Savage. Leonard and Mick follow closely behind.

We nearly fly up a set of stairs and Leonard shoots at one of the closest soldiers. I punch another one in the face, knocking him out cold.

We climb up another set of stairs when a huge amount of soldiers come out and charge toward us.

"We're outnumbered!" Mick shouts.

Both Mick and Leonard shoot at the soldiers with their guns and I thrust out my hand, summoning all the electricity in the area to fill me up. Then I shoot it out and put out my other hand, electrocuting a lot of the soldiers. My eyes were shining and glitching with different shades of blue and in this moment, I felt more powerful than ever.

"Fall back!" Rip shouts over the comms.

Mick and Leonard stop fighting but I felt this urge to finish the mission. I felt like nothing could stop me from finishing the mission.

"Isabelle, lets go!" Leonard shouts and I force myself to let go of all the energy in my body and to snap out of my power thirsty trance. My eyes couldn't go back to their normal violet but I manage to stop shooting electricity out of my hands. I follow Leonard from a safe distance to make sure I don't accidently hurt him.

"Mr. Jackson! Now would be a good time to pick us up!" Rip shouts over the comms.

I see from the top of the stairs that Leonard had the woman at gunpoint. I race past them both and then Leonard follows closely behind me.

"What exactly do you think you were doing back there?!" Rip shouts, mainly at Leonard and Mick.

I've changed into a black tanktop and black ripped jeans, my ankle boots with heels and a leather hoodie jacket. My hair was out of a french braid and it flowed down around my shoulders.

"Distracting Savage's pals, which worked, by the way," Leonard replies.

"Yes, well I could have been killed," Rip says.

"Never said it worked perfectly," Mick replies.

"At least it wasn't a complete bust. We found out about Kendra's bracelet," Sara says.

"What bracelet?" Rip asks.

"My bracelet. I was wearing it the night of my first death," Kendra explains.

"That's great," Ray says, making me and Kendra look at him. "Not the death part. That's terrible. But you told us that objects present on the night of your death can be used to kill Savage."

Kendra must have given him a surprised look because he follows with "You're my fiance. I listen to you."

"And that's sweet," I say. "But there's still one small problem."

"It's a bracelet," Sara continues for me. "How are you supposed to kill Savage with it?"

"A question we will answer the moment we have obtained it," Rip replies. "We need our resident kleptomaniacs to steal that bracelet."

"Captain, I've detected movement 300 meters southwest of our position and closing." Gideon says.

"Savage's army?" Ray asks.

"Negative," Gideon replies. "I believe they are all that remains of the resistance forces."

"I'm going to make contact with them. They might have information on Savage that we can use to our advantage," Rip says. "In the meantime, Ms. Lance and Ms. Light, get Ms. Saunders ready."

"How are we supposed to teach someone to fight with a piece of jewelry?" Sara asks.

"Good question," Rip replies.

"It wasn't rhetorical."

Rip and Ray came on to a bridge about an hour later.

"Do we have a plan for stealing this bracelet?" Rip asks.

"We're on it," Mick replies.

"Please don't tell me the plan is to walk into Savage's citadel and steal it off her wrist," I say.

"Alright I won't tell you that," Leonard gets up to go.

"Be careful," I tell him.

"I always am," he winks at me and walks out with Mick following.

"All right, well, we still have the issue of how to turn a piece of jewelry into a lethal weapon."

"Perhaps there is reference to the bracelet in Professor Boardman's diary," suggested Rip.

"I doubt it," Kendra replies almost instantly. "I've read through my son's research a thousand times."

"Savage has a devastating weapon at his command, and here now, at the eleventh hour, we could sorely use a weapon of our own," Rip says, trying to motivate Kendra. It worked.

"I'll look into it," Kendra says.

Kendra, Sara, and I walk away from the bridge and into one of the storage rooms. Kendra opens one of the top boxes and sighs.

"This is such a waste of time. I've already looked through every single page of Aldus' notebook. If he had written something specific about the bracelet and killing Savage, I would have known it already," Kendra explains.

Sara reaches into the box and pulls out the journal.

"Here is it," she murmurs and passes it to me. I flip through the pages but then notice Kendra looking sadly into the box.

"You ever think about him?" I ask her.

"Carter?" She whispers. "I try not to. It's not like I'll ever see him again. Not in this lifetime, anyway."

Both Sara and I look at her sadly.

"Besides, Carter is my past," Kendra smiles. "Ray is my future."

"Still, a 4,000 year long relationship, seems like it'd be hard to get over," Sara says.

"Yeah," Kendra nods. "Maybe once Savage is gone, I can finally start to."

Kendra reaches down and grabs Carter's mace. She looks like she zoned out for a few seconds when she suddenly said the golden words.

"I think I know what we can use to kill Savage."
