[Chapter 11]
*Inside the Pentagon*
Leonard and Ray were dressed as janitors while Kendra and Sara were dressed in military outfits. Mick was in his regular attire while I was in whatever I felt I wanted to wear. Which happened to be a leather tank top that flowed to one side, NOT LIKE A DRESS, but a comfortable shirt that didn't get in the way of me kicking ass. Then I had blue jeans, open toe heels, and sunglasses, with a gun and many knifes hidden out of sight. And of course, my ring and the silver necklace with Emmy and Jay Jay's rings.
"You definitely look like someone who works in the Pentagon," Lenord snarked at my outfit.
"And..." I retort. "I'm comfortable and happy. There isn't a problem right?" I winked at Leonard, my violet eyes twinkling playfully.
"Focus. Now, the file we're after is kept in a secure records room. In order to gain access, we're going to need to, uh, borrow a magnetic key card," Rip explained through our comms unit.
"Because this is so much easier than just shrinking down and stealing it," Ray muttered annoyingly.
"Let me show you how it's done...old school," Leonard said, winking back at me as he dropped his mop, frightening a lady, who then slipped and fell.
Leonard caught her flawlessly like Prince Charming, causing many women to swoon in that moment. I mean everyone except me of course.
"You okay, ma'am?" Leonard asked.
"I wasn't watching where... I was going," The lady muttered flusteredly and Leonard spun her back onto her feet.
"Thank you," she added.
"Just doing my job," Leonard commented with a smirk, causing me to snort. The lady looked at me oddly and I covered up my laughing with coughing. The lady gave me multiple looks of curiosity, snarkiness, and maybe fear when she notices my eyes.
For once I wish someone wouldn't look at me like that. The way my family used to look at me, and me at them. Maybe one day... things will be different.
Then the lady walked off, fixing herself and Leonard showed the magnetic key card to Ray.
"That's a nifty little trick," Ray commented before Leonard predictably pulled out the ladies' wallet.
"Really? We're trying to save the world and you're lifting wallets?" Ray asked annoyed.
"It's called multitasking," I commented as Kendra and Sara started walking towards them and Leonard slipped one of them the key card.
"The records room has closed-circuit cameras. We need a diversion," Rip said through the comms unit.
"Someone call my name?" Mick said through his comms unit. "Double or nothing says I put this punk on the pinewood," Mick said to the crowd around him.
"Don't you have somewhere to be?" Ray asked me and I inwardly groan.

"Yeah, yeah, causing the distraction. I know," I sigh and Leonard laughs at me.
"I hear Mick started an arm wrestling fight but if you can't handle losing to a bunch of men..." he started before I cut him off.
"You don't think I can beat Mick? Ho ho, watch me whip his ass," I start walking off to where a huge crowd of men had gathered and were cheering at the two figures in the middle.
I can hear the small laughter of Snart and Ray behind me but I ignore it as I push my way into the center of the crowd.
Mick shoved his opponent's hand onto the losing side of the table and stood up with his hands in the air for another victory.
Then men around us were eating up the distraction like apple pie, placing bets and cheering like maniacs for Mick.
"Who wants to go next?" Mick challenged the men around him.
"I'll take a wack at it," I smile as I step through the crowd of army men, my violet eyes glowing from all the excitement.
A lot of the men started laughing as if I couldn't beat Mick but I just wink at them and take a seat at the table across Mick.
"I don't want to damage your ego," Mick said gruffly.
"It isn't mine you need to worry about," I smile as I put my elbow on the table and wave my hand for Mick to take it. "You're not going to back out now, are you?"
"Never," Mick says determinedly as he takes my hand.
"On three," I say. "One."
"Two."
"Three," the whole crowd shouts along with Mick and me.
Mick and I began arm-wrestling, but I can tell Mick was holding back, so I gave him an incentive.
"Why are you holding back?" I ask as I push his hand to my winning side.
"Not anymore," Mick smiled as he brought both our hands back to the middle. The crowd went wild to see that their all-time champion was coming back and evening out the playing field.
Mick starts contorting his face into a determined look as he forces our hand to go near his winning side. The crowd goes nuts as he gets closer and closer to winning.
"You guys, we have a problem. Get back to the ship now," Rip yelled over the comms at Mick and me.
My eyes gleam violet as I laugh at Mick as our hands go back to the middle and slam down onto my winning side of the table, demolishing it.
I jump out of my seat and smile at Mick and the crowd's surprised look. Then the crowd goes crazy at my victory.
"On our way," I say into the comms as I pat Mick's back and walk through the crowd, back to the ship.

*Back on the ship*
"Instead of dwelling on what went wrong, let's focus on the positive," Ray said as we walked into the main area where Stein, Kendra, and Jax were sitting with Rip.
"What are you talking about? It was awesome," Mick said amused and we high-five.
"In the same away that tsunamis, earthquakes, and other natural disasters are 'awesome,'" Stein said annoyed.
"Unlike you guys, we got the fun part," Mick says looking at me.
"We got the file on Savage," Kendra said simply.
"Despite the hiccup with the alarm?" Stein said looking at Jax.
"Oh, so it's my fault now? You know, maybe if you weren't always yammering away in my head, I could actually focus," Jax argued.
"You have access to 60 years of knowledge and experience. Why not just take advantage of that?" Stein asked.
"Because it's my body on the line out there, not yours," Jax yelled.
"Hey, it's not your fault. Everything would have been fine if Big Bird over here hadn't freaked out," I commented.
"Excuse me?" Kendra asked annoyed.
"You heard me," I stated.
"Enough. There is plenty of blame to go around. Now, fortunately, Gideon was able to generate a low-end EMP, which erased all the Pentagon's magnetic media," Rip explained.
"Like security footage?" Ray asked.
"Look, you're just lucky that the Department of Defence likes to keep incidents like this under wraps. Gideon, any luck with our purloined secret file? Please say yes," Rip asked.
"Yes, Captain. According to the Pentagon, Savage has defected to the Soviet Union," Gideon explained.
"So the most powerful evil the world has ever known has just gone red at the height of the Cold War," Stein commented.
"And now he's going to help them cook up something that fills the future," Ray added.
"Gideon set a course... for the Soviet Union," Rip ordered and the ship took off.
*In my room*
I was writing in my journal when there was a knock on my door.
"Come in," I say, closing my journal.
Leonard opens the door and comes inside.
"And she changes again," Leonard says jokingly.
I was wearing my Adidas sweatshirt and black skinny jeans with rips in them. My boots were on the floor next to my bed and I was barefoot, relaxing on my bed while writing in my journal. Classical music was playing on the radio in the background.
"Hey so did you." I laugh softly.
Leonard comes over and sits on my bed.
"Watcha' writing?" he asks, pointing out my journal.
"You have to point out everything, huh?" I smile.
"Don't change the subject," Leonard warns.
"I'm keeping a journal. I... only write down the things I want to remember in here, for when I lose my memories," I say quietly. This isn't exactly my favorite topic, so why am I telling him? What's wrong with me?
"Oh, that's soon, isn't it?" Leonard said smoothly.
"Look, Leonard, this isn't really something I want to talk about right now..." I start but Leonard cuts me off.
"Can you dance?"
"What?" I ask in confusion.
"Can you dance?" He repeats.
"No... I've never danced before," I stutter, shocked at his question.
"Here," Leonard says as he stands up and holds out his hand for me to take it. "Will you dance with me?"
"Oh no Snart, I can't dance," I start but he cuts me off yet again by grabbing my hand and pulling me off the bed regardless of my objection. He twirls me around and then pulls me to his chest. We're so close, I can feel his breath on my forehead since he's taller than me.
"What am I supposed to do?" I ask, feeling slightly nervous for some reason.
"Just follow my lead. And of course, dance to the music," Leonard replies calmly.
We began dancing around the room, following the music and really feeling it.
I laugh as Leonard lifts me up and twirls me around in the air. Then he puts me down and we begin the basic steps again.
"So what hidden talent do you have, Isabelle?" Leonard asks.
"Well, I can cook," I reply.
"Really? Well, you have to make me something sometime," Leonard replies interested.
"As soon as we get some time off, I'll make you something," I smile and look up at Leonard's cold blue eyes. There's something there. Something I've haven't seen in a long time when a person looks at me.
"Sure," I say breathlessly. I don't understand why my hearts racing like this. I'm not tired because of the dancing. I swear Leonard can feel from how fast it's beating.
I admire Leonard's eyes so much that I don't really notice that we have stopped dancing and that he has both arms wrapped around my waist, pulling me against his body. Or that both my arms are around his neck and that his face is inching toward mine.
Directly before we were touching lips, the ship jolted to a stop and we both fell to the ground, me on top of Leonard.
"Glad I could cushion you," Leonard smiled to break the silence.
We were both face to face for a second before I pulled away, moving off of him.
"I guess we better go to the bridge and see what's wrong," I say, breaking the silence again.
"Yeah, I guess we better," Leonard smiled sadly and stood up. He slipped through the door and walked down the hall to the bridge.
I sighed and went over to my radio and shut it off.
