[Chapter Four]

(The little girl in the top left is Emmy, the older girl in the top right is Isabelle, and the boy on the bottom is Jay Jay. The Light Family)

During the time jump, I'm pretty sure I passed out because at first, I couldn't see or sense anything.

Then it was like a rush. I'm me but I'm me from 58 years ago. I'm being held across from my brother and sister, being held by two burly men and my hands bound behind my back with chains made of Rhodium. The only thing that weakens and harms me and my family.

Like I said before, I'm not human. Neither is my brother and sister. We don't know what we are or where we come from. All we know is that we control the elements of Earth and that we only have each other.

My brother and sister are also bound and helpless. These humans we have tried to live in peace with, but the men were afraid of us and our powers, and how they cannot control us. We've never bothered them but the entire time, they've been plotting how to destroy us.

And they've found our weakness.

My arms burn from where the rhodium chains touch me and my powers are deprived of energy. My brother has a knife to his throat and I can guess... it's rhodium. The villagers liked me least of all because of my snappy attitude, anger issues, and lack of control, so why don't I have a knife to my throat?

Jayden's skin glows red where the knife perches on his throat and poor little Emily's face is pale white from fear. I fight to get free and I get hit against the head. One of the men standing behind me grabs my hair and forces me to lock eyes with my brother.

Instead of having beautiful violet eyes, his eyes are pale and silver. A tear escapes from my eyes as I watch my truely beautiful brother be in unbelievable pain. I can also sense Emmy growing weaker by the second.

Since Emmy is the youngest and smallest of us, she isn't as tolerable to pain as we are. Her head sags and one of the men kick her legs out from under her, making her fall. I scream in anger and hatred as I lunge in Emmy's direction, only to have another chain of rhodium be looped around my neck to hold me back.

Tears are now spilling uncontrollably as the whole events go out in play once again in my mind. The leader calls out to the gathering crowd and tells everyone that he is saving Earth and their kind by ridding it of our filth.

The entire village is watching as Jay Jay and Emmy were forced to their feet, both with knives to their throats. Why are they killing them first? They should kill me and leave them alone! I want to cry out but the pain in my throat is unbearable.

Jay Jay continued staring at me and just as the man behind him was about to slit his throat with the knife, he called out something that has been haunting me to this day.

"Ridică-te, stai puternic și privește în față," Jayden called just as his and Emmy's throats were slit.

"EMMY! JAY JAY! NO!" I screamed, the pain whelling up inside of me. I'm so angry and upset. They murdered my only family. And they made me watch.

I can tell I'm heating up because the chains start melting off of me and I start sweating and I feel like I'm being burned alive.

Ridică-te, stai puternic și privește în față. These words Jay Jay told me repeats in my head over and over again, fanning my flames and making the men behind me back away from the heat radiating from my body.

Get up, stay strong and look ahead. And that's what I do. I stand as the grass around my feet catches on fire and the villagers around me run away and scream in fear. They should be afraid. They don't know what monster they've unleashed.

The anger grows stronger and stronger, making me to actually start to melt. It's absolutely excruciating and is even worse than being burned. It's actually inexplainable given that no one has ever felt this way.

I know my eyes are fiery and red and I watch myself slowly melt into a puddle of lava. Every part of my body is in agony but I will myself to spread and to slowly burn villagers who killed my family.

And in that moment of chaos, I promised myself and the world something.

I will never forgive humans for what they did to me and I will kill every one of them that stand in my way. Never again will I let someone hurt me like this. Never again.

I snap out of my memory by being splashed by a bucket of ice-cold water. I hear sizzling and I realize I'm making the water evaporate because I'm burning hot. I see the team looking at me with a mixture of worry, shock, fear, or wonder.

I take a deep breath and will myself to calm down but the agony and anger of Jay Jay and Emmy's death was burning inside me as if they literally just died moments ago. I call on my water powers and command it to absorb the water on my skin, clothes, and the seat.

Using the water element helped me cool off and calm down. I open my eyes and it's dead silent. "What... the hell.. was that?" Ray asked slowly, slightly breaking the tension.

"I have no clue," I say shakily. A single tear slips from my control and rolls down my cheek. Leonard notices but doesn't say anything. I wipe away the tear before Jax recites what happened after the jump.

"You literally passed out during the time jump and you were so still and pale, we thought you were dead or something. Then your wrists and neck started glowing red in a mark that looks like a chain. You muttered something in a different language that Gideon translated as 'Get up, stay strong and look ahead.' Then you screamed out "EMMY! JAY JAY! NO!" which scared the crap out of us. So we told Mick to get a bucket of ice-cold water and then you know the rest," Jax explained quickly as we fell into an awkward silence.

"It seems that Ms. Light experienced the rare side effect of hallucination. Its occurs very rarely so I didn't even think it was possible for it to happen to the one person on the ship whose not actually human. Especially since we're still in the same year." Rip explained in slight fascination.

"It wasn't a hallucination. It was a memory from 58 years ago," I explain earning me shocked glances from the team.

"You have some explaining to do," Kendra said, not trusting me.

"I don't have to do anything. My past is my business," I retort, annoyed.

"Can you at least, Isabelle, explain to us how you're 58 years old?" Stein asked carefully and curiously.

I sigh in defeat.

"I'm not human as you all know. I don't know what I am or where I come from. I came to Earth a long time ago. I don't know how and I don't know why. But I do know that when I came here I was 15 years old. And every year on my 25th birthday, all my cells reverse engineer themselves to return to their form when I was 15.

"So the process repeats as the years when by. I would age normally from the age of 15 to 25, but every ten years my age goes back to 15. Sometimes, the process makes me lose my memories. Or sicknesses I carry from the past. It's like reincarnation but I never die, and it's harder to regain memories." I finish and we fell into another awkward silence.

"And how old are you now, Ms. Light?" Stein questioned me, willing to break the silence by being more curious than ever.

"24"

I struggle to stand up and notice that the chair is literally burned to the core. My chain marks are still glowing and are slightly smoldering. If you touch them, you would be burned really badly.

I shakily take a breath as I stand in immense pain. Everyone is watching and I'm determined not to show weakness.

I look at Leonard and I can tell that he can tell that I'm in pain. I see curiosity and pity in his eyes. I lock with his cold blue eyes with my pale silver ones. Stupid powers. They widely control my emotions and feelings and also, change the color of my eyes, as you could tell.

When I'm in pain, my eyes turn silver.

Everyone is watching me and I glare at them, returning to my annoyed state.

"Okay people! The show's over. Let's go beat the crap out of Savage and go home," I say in a strong voice, all emotion wiped clean in my face and voice. I wipe my eyes to rid myself of tears and painfully walk over to the console.

"Where exactly are we?" I asked.

"October 1975 on the fjords of Northern Norway," Rip stated, looking at me weirdly. I ignore him and focus on focusing.

"Sounds like a vacation," Leonard said as he walked over to stand next to me.

"Which we can take as soon as the threat of Savage has been neutralized, Mr. Snart," Rip added, grabbing a small book.

"That's Aldus's notebook," Carter commented.

"Now, he theorized that Savage might be here, and if he's right, and if we can capture Savage, then at least Professor Boardman didn't die in vain," Rip explained.

"Can't we just go back and save Aldus?" Kendra asked with emotion laced in her voice.

"He was our son," Carter added.

"Look, I'm sorry. We can't go back and change events in which we participated. Time would fold in on itself, creating a temporal vortex," Rip explained.

"Which sounds way cooler than it is," Ray added.

"Forgetting physics for a second, shouldn't we figure out what Savage is doing in Norway?" I asked.

"According to Gideon, there is a large meeting of terrorists and fringe groups looking to buy illegal arms," Rip explained while the two criminals smiled.

"Now that sounds like a vacation," Mick commented.

"Arms dealers and terrorists aren't exactly our kind of people, but they're the next best thing," Leonard said smirking at me. I roll my eyes but I'm trying to figure out why Snart keeps looking at me in that weird way.

"Well, looks like you and your lapdog get to earn your keep," Carter stated bluntly.

"I'm no one's lapdog, bird-man," Mick said annoyed.

"So what exactly does one wear to a black market arms bazaar, anyway?" Kendra asked.

"The Waverider has a fabrication room which can fashion temporally-indigenous, uh, fashion," Rip explained.

"You've got a room that makes clothing?" Jax asked, a little bit surprised.

"Doesn't everyone?" Rip retorted walking out of the room with Ray, Leonard, Mick and myself.

"All right, the first thing we need to do is work up a plan," Ray stated very confidently.

"Got a lot of experience infiltrating criminal gatherings? Didn't think so. I'm calling the shots," Leonard said.

"Actually, I'm in charge, in case any of you have forgotten," Rip commented.

"No, most of us remember. We just don't care," I replied making Leonard and Mick chuckle.

"Do I need to remind any of you that I'm a Time Master? Making discrete alterations to the timeline is what I do, so we're not just going to charge into the past like a bull into a shop..." Rip started to rant again.

"Half of what you've told us about the mission turned out to be lies," Mick interrupted and I mouth Thank you, making the criminal smile.

"None of you have ever encountered Vandal Savage before. I have, and I'm telling you now, you are making a big mistake," Rip warned.

"Already did that when we trusted you," Ray stated as we walked off leaving a very flustered Rip behind.

"Back soon, Captain," I added, flashing him a winning smile as we all head to the fabrication room.
