《Jotaro Kujo (Part 6) - Remember Us》Don't Cry

"What do you mean?" Jolyne said with a nervous tone. "You're Jotaro."
He only looked at her blankly.
Jolyne continued, "You're Jotaro Kujo. My dad." She tried explained as calm as she could.
When Jotaro looked back at her with no change in expression, that was when panic began to set it.
"I'm your daughter, Dad." Her voice began to hitch in her throat. "Not this. Not this." Tears of joy became tears of despair at that moment. "We finally got to connect after all this time, now this?!"
"Um," he said starting to feel uneasy. It was subtle, but I could tell that he didn't know what to do.
I shocked myself, but after all that Jolyne went through, she needed the time.
The doctors said that we had to go while they did more tests.
While Jolyne cried, I said, "We should go."
She nodded and we walked out.
We sat outside of the door on the floor. I sat beside her as she tried calming down.
I wasn't sure what to do. I hesitantly reached over to her, but I pulled my hand away.
Her father doesn't remember her.
I reached back to her and placed a reassuring hand on her head.
All those years with him, I-.
I gulped.
I turned noticing that Jolyne finally was calm. She was looking back at me. She apologized, "Sorry. Um..."
"It's okay. Maybe this is a blessing in disguise?"
"What?"
I pulled my hand away from her and explained, "He can start over with you. He doesn't know too much anymore. Without the worried weighing on him, he can go back to his family life with you and your mother."
Jolyne's eyes widened. "Y-you might have a point." There was hope in her eyes.
The doctors left the room. One of them said, "You are free to come in now, but I do want to talk to you about his recovery."
I nodded.
The doctor explained that he should take it easy and rest. He should go to a stress-free place to heal. Maybe with time, he will gain his memories. Maybe he never will. He will be able to leave in a couple of days so they could monitor the gash in his face that Pucci caused.

Jolyne looked like little girl with the hope in her eyes. After all she went through, she deserved it. She needed her father.
I stood up and held my hand out to her. "Why dontcha go in and tell him you will be taking him home in a few days with you? Don't think about telling him about me. He deserves his family."
She sniffed, "After what I did, you're encouraging me?" She grabbed my hand, so I pulled her up.
I replied, "Of course, after all these years being with him, I learned that you were worth fighting for. He loves you. Now go."
Jolyne nodded and went into Jotaro's room. She closed the door behind her.
I smiled feeling happy for them both. Jotaro was a worried man. He cared so much for his daughter. For him to heal with her would be great for him.
To be happy.
But all those years, we-.
But that's his real family. Jotaro and I never got married. We just supported each other plenty of times. Since I worked with the Speedwagon Foundation, I was able to spend quite a bit of time with him. We got close because we both needed comforting.
It took a while, but I was able to convince him that I didn't need to be protected, and he let down his guard. We shared our first kiss together and then some. He wanted to be held so I held him.
It was like we were the perfect fit.
We were the perfect fit.
He didn't need me anymore. He has his daughter now. His ex-wife was probably waiting for him.
He didn't need me anymore.
Tears began falling from my eyes. I sniffed as I wiped at them. I couldn't start crying in the middle of the hallway. I should be happy. My shoulders shook regardless.
Suddenly, I felt a hand on my shoulder. "If you're going to cry like that, don't go giving Dad up." It was Jolyne sternly.
I flinched not knowing when Jolyne left the room.
She said, "I told Dad everything."
"Oh," I wasn't sure what to make of 'everything'.

"You're his currently lover," she said. "It's not like Mom is in love with him anymore. Do you two live together?"
I nodded, "Yeah, but you know, because of work..."
"He was barely home," she finished for me. "Well, you should be the one to take him home."
"What about you?"
She said, "Tell me where you live. It's not like I'm severing all ties with him."
"That's fair."
"Yeah," she agreed.
"Now it's your turn in the room. I don't want it to be my fault if I broke up a relationship. Imagine if he got his memory back and he's back with his ex and not with the one he loves." She pushed me forward.
Soon I was in ther room, and the door slammed closed behind me.
I stopped in my tracks when I saw Jotaro.
He was laying down as if he had no idea what to do. Then his uncovered eye turned to me.
"Are you the one Jolyne called, my lover?" Then he said my name as if he was trying to test it out. "Hm."
"U-um yes." I took the last few steps to reach his bed. I sat on the chair beside his bed. "Does the name ring any bells?"
"No." He looked at my face to gather the details of me and looked away. It was almost like when we first met. He wasn't the type to keep eye contact for long. He always had his hat to cover them, but I knew his attention was always there.
"How are you feeling?"
He answered with a sigh, "Sore. Tired. My face..." I reached up and touched the bandages that was covering half of his face. "What happened?"
I answered, "Well, this man named Pucci came and tried to do a killing blow on you by slicing right through your head. Um... that was scary to see."
"You saw it?"
"Yes," I answered. "I have a thing called a stand. Do you remember that?"
He denied, "Mm-mm."
I explained, "Well, it's an ability that we both have that manifests into an entity..." I stopped to see how he was keeping up.
He was looking at me blankly. He didn't understand.
I clarified, "It's a power that only we can see, but it just works."
"Hm," he mumbled as he looked away. He got it, but he didn't fully understand what I meant.
"So I was able to see what you saw. Because of that, we were able to save you. Any slower and you wouldn't... that's besides the point. You're here." I smiled seeing him alive in front of me. I reached to caress his face but quickly pulled back. I wanted to comfort him, but I wasn't sure helpful that action would be.
As far he knew, he just met me. He doesn't remember me at all.
"You know," he mumbled. "You don't have to stop yourself." He closed his eyes and turn his face towards me.
I gently reached to the side of his face farthest from me, which wasn't bandaged up. I cupped his face and said, "Everything will be alright. I promise."
An exhale that held so much weight left his lips. It was like he comfortable with me despite his missing memories.
His hand reached up and cover his hand with mine. He let out a shakey sigh, "When am I leaving?"
"In a couple of days."
He asked, "Where do we live?"
"On a beach."
"Mm. Do we have neighbors?"
"No." He made sure we didn't have any neighbors. He didn't want anyone to cause trouble for us. He was worried about that, even after I convinced him that I could protect myself.
"Hm," he mumbled. He leaned his face into my hand some more. He squeezed my hand.
"I'm safe?"
"Yes."
Another relieved sigh from him. I had no idea what was going through his head, but concern was still plaguing him.
"Hun, just worry about getting better, okay?"
There was pause. He finally opened his eye and said, "Okay."
