In headcanons and boyfriend-scenario land, I will never understand the fascination of the "What he does when you get your period" thing, but I am out of ideas today and every one I've read on this subject has completely sucked.

So grab a heating pad and a cup of tea: Here is my attempt to make Aunt Flo a little more amusing!

-Is embarrassed because he doesn't really understand WTF is actually happening (physically and...well, all the other stuff that comes with it...he's confused by all this moodiness and talk of sanitary products)

-Contemplates asking his aunt Mito for some guidance, then winces. Oooo. That would be way too cringey

-Calls Killua

-"Bro. So, like, my GF is like on her period or whatever they call that and she is being a total grumpy bitch. What on earth is actually going on down there, do you know?

-"Hell if I know"

-"I was raised in a household of dudes--sorry, Alluka, but TBH you aren't much use to me here in this department either--so I have no idea"

-"Didn't we study this in, like, 7th grade Health class or something?"

-"On the bright side, girls like to eat a lot of chocolate and ice cream during this time, so take full advantage of that"

-Of course he knows what's going on, this is Kurapika we are talking about: Mr. "Google It And Find Out"

-To entertain you, he looks up a ton of history on the subject and regales you with discussions of how menstrual cycles have been regarded as sacred throughout the ages

-You're not entertained. "Dude, why don't you go join some Sisterhood of the Moon local group since you're so educated on this?"

-He's a doctor, he better know what's going on or else he'd be a pretty shitty physician

-Is matter of fact and gives you some sort of pill. "Here, this will stop the cramps and allow you to button your pants up again"

-Is bored with your griping

-"Why don't you take it like a man, already," he tells you.

-Is in the same boat as Killua, but this is a guy in his 20s so presumably he knows a tad more on the subject

-But, just a tad. He's never had a serious girlfriend. Just a bunch of IllumiSimpSluts® who are all too busy drooling over him to bother him with any everyday problems

-(Seriously. Can you imagine going on a date with Illumi and just casually busting out with "Oh hey, I'm on my period"? No? Right. Thought so.)

-He tries to think of something to say and finally just suggests that you do some yoga

-You burst into hormonal tears

-He helplessly pats your back, and thinks to himself "Fuck my life"

-Another one who is too self-centered and full of himself to really give a shit about routine female issues, but like Illumi, he is in his 20s and he's a smart dude so he is fully aware of the mechanics

-Tosses you a book. "This is a pretty good read"

-It's The Red Tent

-We aren't sure what Feitan knows about this particular subject, but he's admittedly a pro when it comes to anything blood-related

-You discover you are out of tampons so you text him and ask if he'll stop at the drugstore and rip some off for you

-He doesn't want to do this ("What do you think I am, a girly-girl or something?") but he rolls his eyes and types back "OK"

-Once at the store he is confused AF at the variety in the personal care aisle

-Gets a text from Feitan. "So she wants me to get her some Tampax and there's like 80 different kinds. What the fuck do I do?"

-Shalnark responds: "I dunno. Want me to ask Machi? Oh wait, she's not around. Read what the labels say to me and maybe we can figure it out"

-"Light, regular, super, super plus"

-"Well, duh, obviously super plus. I mean, that sounds like the best one, doesn't it? Isn't she going to be like, offended, if you just get her 'regular'? That's kind of insulting"

-"Are you sure, dude?"

-"Dude. If I had my period and you got me 'regular' I'd be, like, the fuck is this lame-ass shit, I want the SUPER PLUS"
