《Waxing Gibbous》Vampire Intruders (A)

Rosalie had promised to be out hunting for a while, so I wasn't expecting her, and she knew I needed to sleep so when I arrived home to find not one but two vampires in my home, I was confused to say the least. There in my room stood Alice and Edward. Alice was a little frantic, but Edward was so tense he looked like a statue.
"what's up?" I yawned, looking at them, unsure who to acknowledge first. "I'd ask how you got inside but I'd rather assume you came in through some extremely complicated way and I don't have to worry about thieves"
Alice gave a small laugh "the window, but that's beside the point, I can't see Bella and we were wondering if you knew. we have suspicions but maybe it would do Edward some good to have some confirmation"
I looked at Edward who looked tense like he was ready to rush the border "okay, last I heard she was with Jacob and if you try to cross the border, he would love that... in fact he's waiting for you to make any move that would give him permission to rip you apart"
Edward growled "I told you, and I told her that he's too dangerous."
I shook my head "I don't think he's dangerous to her. As long as she doesn't tell him she's going to become a vampire she's fine"
"you can't possibly know that" Edward replied, clearly remembering my blood-soaked face.
"I can, I can hear his thoughts just as well as you can. Jacobs main goal in life is to prove to Bella that you're the devil and she's secretly in love with him. He'll do anything to make her see that. Hurting her and proving you right doesn't help his case."

"he knows she won't choose him" Alice replied.
"he doesn't think so... trust me his mind is filled with explicit fantasies. Him and Bella, him killing Edward... its too much. Actually, some of the pack has gotten onto him about it recently. But Jacob is still thinking of the two months when it was just him and Bella. Before he phased when Bella thought you didn't love her and would never return. She desperately held onto anything and at that moment it was him, he wants that back, when he was the only one she spent any time with. Jacob refuses to accept they're just friends"
"he's too dangerous for her to be around" Edward replied.
I looked at him, I could see where he's coming from. "aren't we all... Look you have to let her make this decision on her own. If you start placing all these restrictions the only thing you'll do it make her think of her dad. You're supposed to be partners, trust is important"
"I trust Bella, it's him I don't trust" Edward replied.
"then trust her judgement. Jacob as a friend is a good guy, she just as to establish this and the more you push, the more he pushes. Bella's not a prize and it kinda feels like the two of you are fighting over a trophy" I replied honestly.
Edward furrowed his brows before leaving, leaving Alice and me. I could only hope he gave her the chance to make this decision.
"so... you and Rosalie" she started earning a laugh from me. I indulged her in a little bit of information but not everything. She was ecstatic that things were starting to work out for the two of us.
"I can't wait for you to join the family too" she squealed hugging me before going home. This gave me the chance to finally shower and take a nap.

Several hours later I woke up so that I could start dinner. I wanted to surprise my family, they have been taking care of everything recently and I knew that was the role of a mother, but I wanted to return the favor.
I started the salmon and asparagus while watching some horror movie on tv. There was the typical horror vibe that no longer scared me because I knew of the supernatural. It's funny how that happens, when you find out about Vampires and werewolves, other things don't tend to scare you as much. It might be helped with the fact that I was also part of the supernatural and knew nothing could really hurt me like before. Not even a serial killer possessed doll.
I was just pulling the salmon out of the oven when my mom walked through the door a package in her hand. "smells good Al"
"well, I wanted to make you guys something... I've been gone a lot and when I'm not I'm always sleeping"
My mom smiled as she set everything down "you got a package. Graduation gowns perhaps"
I finished washing my hands to open the parcel, I wasn't expecting anything so I would assume she was correct, actually I didn't need to assume because the moment I ripped open the paper the yellow gown was looked back at me.
"my baby's all grown up" my mom sniffed hugging me tightly.

Dragonfall
This fiction is based on a short story I wrote inspired by a prompt on r/WritingPrompts. Contrary to my plans, I haven't sketched out the story in detail or written anything ahead of time. I've discovered I don't do well at that. I'm just writing this thing and we'll see where it takes us, OK?
