《Achilles (Wattys2015)》Chapter 1

I watched as my sister side stepped my future Beta, a smirk on her face. She had him right where she wanted him. She easily pinned him to the ground before knocking him out, a look of triumph on her face as she did a little happy dance.
I laughed, "Great job!"
"I finally beat your Beta! Sooner or later I'll be able to beat you." she grinned, hugging me.
I smiled, "We'll see about that, any luck on finding your mate?"
"No, I'm afraid to find him though. Mona's mate was killed by a rogue and Jason...well..." she trailed off, a look of fear and pity in her eyes.
I shrugged, "That was two years ago, I'm not really in the depressed boat anymore."
"Have him and Katie...married?"
"No, they broke up. I knew they wouldn't last and Katie's mate rejected her." I grinned. "Slut deserves it."
"Who was her mate again?"
"My Gamma."
"Oh, good for Ryan. She always treated him like complete crap anyways. Plus, he loves Mona."
"I'm glad Mona finally has another guy in her life though, how long has it been since Gavin died?"
"A year."
I remember it like it was yesterday and it's not a great memory. My father and mother were also killed during that attack and I've hated rogues ever since. We didn't even see them coming, they haven't bothered us for months and so my father let his guard down. It wasn't the greatest move he made, clearly, but I wish I knew sooner. Those disgusting wolves attacked our patrols and killed four of them, Gavin included. Luckily, we killed them off but it wasn't easy.
My mother was weak from the werewolf flu that was going around during the month before and a rogue went after her. He knew she was weak and that she couldn't fight as well, but goddess she tried. My father was shocked by her death and their leader took that as his opportunity to kill him. I didn't let the shock get to me and I killed their leader. After he was gone, the rogues didn't know what to do. They were too disorganized and looked at each other for the answer.
My pack took that as their opportunity and attacked them. We killed them all in less than a minute, only five of them survived. They were thrown into the cells where my guards and Beta took care of them. My younger sister, Sadie, had just shifted then. We were going to throw a celebration for her but those damn rogues murdered our parents.
I did eventually throw one for her, trying to cheer her up. She did smile for the first time since their deaths and that made my day. I took care of her after that, always making sure she was training, healthy, and happy. She loved training just as much as I did, which was great! We both trained like crazy people and easily beat every warrior in our pack. My Beta, Blake, has been a challenge for her but she easily defeated him today.
Speaking of Blake...
"Hey, dude, you alright?" I chuckled, helping him up.
He groaned, "Damn, Sadie, you know how to hit."

She smirked, "Well, that's what you get for messing with an Alpha wolf."
I rolled my eyes, "You're crazy, you know that?"
I took them both inside, ordering Blake to go to the infirmary to get his head wound checked out. I quickly made lunch for Sadie before walking into my office. Ryan was already there, reading a file. He snapped his head up and smiled.
"So, what is on the agenda for today?" I asked, sitting down in my chair.
He sighed, "More rogue attacks, they killed a whole pack last night."
I looked up, frowning. "Which pack?"
"The Silver Sun pack."
"Damn it, their Alpha was the nicest guy." I sighed sadly, taking the file from him.
"Yeah, but not the strongest. He barely trained his pack, it's no surprise."
"I know, who's taking over the territory?"
"Well, it's either you or...."
"Alpha Achilles." I finished for him, placing the file on my desk.
Alpha Achilles, one of the most dangerous Alphas around. He and his pack are cruel and vicious, murdering any rogue or trespasser. I don't blame them though, rogues are vile creatures. There are a few who don't harm anyone and run from their pack because they're abused or they just like being alone. We usually call these rogues lone wolves, whenever they walk onto my territory we know it. Rogues and lone wolves have different scents, this was created centuries ago.
Packs would constantly get the two confused and would murder many innocent wolves. So, in order to stop the slaughter, all the Alphas pulled together and told lone wolves to adopt a new scent. Lone wolves usually smell like the forest after it rained while rogues smell like blood and roadkill. They're disgusting, their scent makes me want to vomit.
"When is he coming?" I questioned, looking back up at Ryan.
"He called and said he'll be here around five this afternoon." he replied, taking a seat.
I nodded, "Is he coming alone or is his Beta coming as well?"
"His Beta's brother, his Beta's mate is due to give birth any minute and he didn't want to leave her alone."
I frowned, a slight pang in my heart at the thought of having a mate. I admit, I'm still a little upset over Jason but I know that despicable wolf isn't good for me or the pack. Goddess, if he were Alpha my pack would burn.
"Then it's a date." I murmured, putting a reminder on my phone.
For the rest of the day I did paperwork and called other packs. There was an Alpha meeting in two weeks and I had to come. Of course almost every Alpha commented about how I need to find myself a male Alpha, the Lunas are supposed to stay behind and care for the pack during these times. I would only shove them off, saying my Beta can handle it. Blake can too, he also has Alpha blood running through him. However, his story is a long one that I'd rather not share.
The only Alpha who never bothered me about it was Achilles and I'm thankful for that. Even though I never told him nor will I ever. I ran my hand through my hair, finally finishing at least half of my paperwork. I jumped slightly when my alarm went off, reminding me that Achilles will be here in thirty minutes.

I scurried to my room and took a shower, not wanting to smell like a sweaty dog when he came. I threw on a nice dress shirt and a nice pair of skinny jeans before walking downstairs. I had just reached the foyer when someone knocked on the door. I opened the door, putting on a smile and welcomed Achilles in.
I have to admit, he isn't bad looking. He's about six foot seven, dark hair and I'm guessing hazel eyes. Either they look green or blue, it's confusing. He has nice sun kissed skin and nicely sculpted abs, at least that's what you can tell through the tight shirt he's wearing.
I close my door and guide him to my office, keeping silent. Once my office doors close he makes himself comfortable in one of my chairs. I plop myself down in my office chair and sigh.
"So, the territory..." I trailed off, not really sure where to go with this.
He smirked, "You've never handled this type of meeting before, have you?"
"No." I reluctantly admit. "My parents died before I learned everything. Let me guess, you're going to tell me I need a male Alpha in my life."
"Nope." he chuckled. "I'll explain it to you, we see who needs it more by listing why we need it. If neither of us come to an agreement then we either come to it in a peaceful matter or we murder each other. Your choice."
I gaped at him, "You said that as if it's normal to just murder another Alpha."
A gleam of mischief danced in his eyes, "Well, when it comes to me, it's pretty normal sweetheart."
"Never call me sweetheart. Ever." I grumbled.
He smirked, "Sweetheart."
"You know, for a so called dangerous Alpha, you're kind of...amusing."
"I'm...amusing?" he asked, raising an eyebrow. "Sweetheart, you haven't seen me when I'm pissed off."
"Again, do not-
"Sweetheart."
"Achilles." I growled.
I saw a flash of lust in his eyes before he blinked and smirked. "I'm annoying you, aren't I?"
"Yes, you are."
I folded my arms across my chest before glancing at the man awkwardly sitting in the other chair. I smiled softly, "You must be the Beta's brother?" I asked.
He snapped his head up, a nervous smile on his face. "Y-Yes, my name is-
"Henry." Achilles cut off, chuckling. "He's not good with...this stuff."
"N-no...I don't like...um...Achilles could you...?"
"He has an issue talking to girls." Achilles grinned.
Henry flashed him an annoyed glare, "That's not the issue."
"Yes it is."
"Is not."
"You're talking to me perfectly fine."
"Because I know you!" Henry snapped, annoyance laced through his voice.
Achilles only kept on sporting that same grin, amusement in his eyes. "You're annoyed."
Henry rolled his eyes, "As you can tell, Alpha Iris, Achilles loves annoying people. He's been doing it to almost every Alpha. He likes to test their temper."
I chuckled, "Did I pass this test?"
"Unfortunately." Achilles grumbled, sitting back in the chair.
I smirked, "Awe, is the wittle Alpha pouting?"
"Darling, I can assure you that I am not pouting." Achilles snapped.
"You're pouting." I retorted.
"Am not!"
"You both are exactly the same it's so frustrating!" Henry growled. "This is why every Alpha hates you!"
"Nope, Iris doesn't."
"Alpha Iris." I groaned.
Achilles rolled his eyes, "Luna Iris."
"Alpha." I barked.
"You're a female Alpha...it's Lu-
"Alpha."
He smirked before sighing, "So, who gets the territory?"
"You do." I said, waving it off. "I don't need it, my pack has enough territory as it is."
"Really? You don't want anymore?" he asked, completely stunned.
I nodded, "Yeah, I could careless. Unlike other Alphas, I'm not greedy. Plus, I'm not risking my life for a piece of land."
"Why not? It's fun!"
"Of course you think it's fun." I mumbled. "Well, I guess our meeting is over."
"Yeah, until next time, Iris." Achilles said, standing up. "You are coming to that Alpha meeting in two weeks, right?"
"Yes, I have to this time. I've finally fixed my pack and got it back together after...my parents died. My Beta can handle things here while I'm there." I explained, walking out of my office.
"What did happen, anyway?" Achilles asked.
I glanced at him before focusing on the hall ahead of us. "You're like a cat, always curious. Does he always act like this?" I asked Henry.
Henry sighed, "Sadly. He has-
"I'm just a hyper guy." Achilles cut in.
We stopped at my front door, I smirked. "You know who you remind me of?"
"Who?"
"Thor."
"From the movie, Thor?"
"Yeah, you're like him." I said, studying him. "Well, besides the blue eyes and blonde hair and hammer."
"You're different." he stated walking out.
He turned and looked at me with that weird look again. "It was nice meeting you, Alpha Iris."
I smiled, "It was nice meeting you, Alpha Achilles."
"I'm looking forward to that Alpha meeting." he said before shifting and running off.
Henry hesitated before turning back to me, "You know, you're the first Alpha he's actually took a liking too. That and the first she-wolf he actually took a liking to. Besides his ex-mate."
With that, he shifted and ran off too. I slowly closed my door and stood there for a good five minutes. So, that's the hyper Achilles...I wonder what the pissed off Achilles is like.
"I honestly don't want to know. Think about it, he earned that dangerous reputation some how. How do you think he did it?" my wolf asked.
"I don't know, but the very thought sends chills down my spine. I agree with you, I never want to see that side of him." I replied.
My mind wandered off that night, I'm very curious about that side of him and how he earned his reputation. During the meeting he seemed like a pretty happy guy who loves teasing and joking with others. Henry, however, acted as if he doesn't do it with every Alpha. I know he likes testing their tempers, am I the only Alpha that didn't snap at him?
I fell asleep, asking myself this question over and over again.
