《"Partners"- Jin ff ✓》10

We were still in the car just preparing ourselves for what is to come.
"Wouldn't it be easier to call for back up?..."- I asked Jin
"From who? The american police that hate us?...if they invade the place, they'll know something is wrong and they'll start a shooting, meaning live could be lost. It's better to go one by one... The two of us"- Jin said.
"Yeah, but... if we capture one of them, it's probable that the others will know"- I said.
"They're only buisness partners. They don't know each other. Why do you think it's a mascaraed party? It's probable that there are very rich and influencing people here that keep this buisness a secret."- Jin told me
"But...how did that Jungkook guy warn the leader?...they all ran here because of that...how would he know the leader?"- I got confused.
"Because everyone knows the leader and can report things to him. Jungkook is a mensager, that's literally his job."- Jin told me.
"So everyone knows who the leader is, meaning the Kim leader, and Kim leader knows who he works with, yet non of these shareholders know each other... gangs are complicated..."- I said.
"Yeah.."
"Wait, and Kim Taehyung? He is the son of the leader, right? What does he do?"- I got curious
"Son of the-?... I don't know...he is just a dog in my-"- he stopped midway way and I frowned -"hum... in my opinion"- he finished but with a scared face. This dude is weird
"Right...wait! How do you know all this?!"- I realized he knows a lot.
"I'm a good detective"- he said and at this point I feel jealous because he knows a lot more than I do.
"So, shall we go?"- I asked him but putting my hand on the door to leave. He quickly grabbed my wrist and stopped me.

"Can we just stay here for another minute?..."- he asked me shyly.
I can feel he is very nervous. So much that I almost feel like his nerves are contagious just by a touch.
I don't want him to feel tensed up or anything like that...
I took his masks out of my bag and put it on his face.
"I don't know why you are so nervous cause that doesn't feel like a Seokjin at all but...even if it is the fear of failure or the fear of getting fired... what matters is no one knows who hides behind this mask except me and, I know we are not the greatest of friends, but we are partners...so you can hold as tight to me as you want...nervous or scared... I'm by your side"- I said putting the mask on him and looking at him in the eyes to give him some kind of reassurance.
Y/N got out of the car after comforting me but my heart, that was beating fast already, it's now beating a thousand of miles/hour.
Her caring about me is something I'm not familiar with. I was a loner for a long time and everyone I wanted to protect, I couldn't, which left me even more alone from guilt.
She was putting her mask on outside of the car and I just looked at her. She says she doesn't hate me because of the way we head along, but I'm sure she'll hate me for other reasons...like secrets. It's better to keep a distance like I always do...
I finally got out of the car and went to her. We walked upstairs to where the party would be, but before we passed those big golden doors, I couldn't help to hold her hand. She looked at me in surprise.

"What? You said I could hold on to you..."- I said and she gave me a soft smile holding my hand back. She really doesn't hate me...
We entered and there were mainly men with masks on. It looked like a victorian ball but with outfits from the 21st century. The air smells like arrogance and crime.
"We should stick together"- I said.
"Yeah, I'll try to pull out their hairs and put it in a napkin and you can pass by me and put it in your bag"- Jin stated and I agreed.
And so the mission began. After half an hour we took the hair of almost everyone, and some of them, we just kept their napkins for the DNA in the saliva. I know... disgusting...but the good thing is that we succeeded.
"There's a few left"- I told Jin referring to a group of men who don't leave each others side. It's hard to do it if they are always in a group.
"Should I distract them?"- Jin asked.
"Out of the two of us, I think they'll be more fascinated by my legs"- I said and went on my way to the group of men, but Jin quickly stopped me.
"What?"- I asked him confused.
"These men are dangerous, not to say everyone here has been looking at you since we entered. It's not safe"- he told me.
"It's okay, I'm a cop"- I told him.
"Yeah? Where were your cop super powers when ChiWon and his friends wanted to attack you the other day?"- he ironically asked.
"Hey, he caught me by surprise"- I defended myself.
"Nevermind, you are not going near those men"- Jin said.
"Watch me!"- I tried to walk away again but he grabbed my wrist again and we are bickering on each other just like we normally do.
"Taeyong?"- Someone asked but Jin and I kept arguing. Then we realized that we had to stop and so Jin and I turned to this man with a fake smile as if nothing was happening.
"Sir?"- Jin was polite and held my hand for the act.
"I hope I didn't interrupt anything."- The man said.
"Oh no, it's just, you know, couples fitghs ah ah...hum, who are you, sir?"- Jin asked the man.
"Oh, don't you know how things work? We don't reveal identities here"- the man said.
"Right..."
"I wanted to talk to you. One of our lower employees said that there was an intriguing man who I should meet. He said you were really good at negotiations and you actually intimidated him..."- he said.
"I'm sure I'm not that special"- Jin said but with a piercing look.
"I know...but then...from afar... I had the feeling I knew you...so I came here to make sure I don't actually know you"- the man said and I feel like some kind of tension grew between these two...
