To say Leona was Pissed about having to Play Cubsitter was an understatement. He was livid. It wasn't enough that he had to be born Second but now he was reduced to this? Not even his Brother treated him so low. To be put onto Cub sitting Duty. Leona napped for Three days to finally calm down enough to except the fact that this was happening. That there was no way to get out of it with out royally pissing off the HeadMage. The most he could do his Hoist the Cub onto Ruggie.

However because Ruggie was only a Dormmate and not a ViceWarden it would seem to the outside as if Leona was to weak to care for something as irrelevant as a Cub. no he would not be looked down upon. The only good thing was he had Two weeks of Bliss before the Cub got to him.

However the Monday afternoon of his Turn he went up Tiredly to the Crowley's office. Honestly he didn't see what the fuss was about. It was just a cub. It's not as if it would kill him. He just didn't want to be bothered with something that was known for taking sleep away from it's Guardians. He walked into the Office and Crowley smiled at him.

"Oh Mr. Kingscholar, Right on time for once I see. Yuu is in their Play pen waiting for you. Riddle has left you a list of things for their upbringing. They were very Through about what they should eat and as what time they should be doing things. Truly he is Trying his hardest to make sure Little Yuu grows to be the best Mage they can" Crowley stated. Leona however picked up the paper and with out even looking at it Dusted it. What did he need to know about the cub anyway. They sleep, they poop, they eat, they crawl around. Not like it's any different then looking after Cheka.

AH...." Crowley said before Leona grabbed the bag and walked out. Honestly they were acting like this Brat was going to be the Next one to Join the ranks of the Top Five Mages. The Brat was an Orphan probably that got dumped first chance they got. Nothing will change for them. Should have just let Nature take its course. But no the stupid Mirror had to decide to help them out. Leona sighed and he looked down at the Oddly Quiet Cub.

The Cub looked up at him in confusion. Didn't it understand that it was probably going to be eaten alive in Savanaclaw? Honestly better them then Octavinelle. That was the next house it was going to anyway. The cub looked up at Leona with big Herbivore eyes. Did it think just because it was cute it wouldn't get Eaten?

"Kibay!" the Cub said raising its arms up pouting. Leona raised and eye brow and lifted the Brat up by the scruff of it's shirt.

"What you say?" The cub pouted again.

"KIBAY!!!" It raised its hands and reached up. Not at Leona's face but at the top of his head. Leona blinked and twitched his ears. Suddenly the Cub burst out in sounds. babbling like crazy. there was a pause and Leona twitched his hears again. The Cub once again babbled!

"So that's it. My ears?" The cub surprised him nodded and reached up. Making a Grabbing motion. Leona pulled his head back and Scowled.

"Not on your life Brat. Now come on we got work to do. I need a nap and your getting shoved at Ruggie the next chance I get" The Cub copied Leona and pouted hitting his shoulder. The nerve of this brat! Thinking it could hit him! He snapped his teeth at them only for the Cub to blink then Copy as he did. Only because they did not have teeth it was just Gums.

'Pfffft what was that? Don't even have your Baby Fangs and you already think your Tuff shit" The Cub giggled and played with Leona's braid. OK maybe the Brat wasn't so bad. Atleast it had some Spunk in it.

Once he reached the SavanaClaw Portal he walked through. Loud ass noise Burst into his Poor ears. Fuck being a Beast man sucked on a bad day. Loud noises were ten times as loud. He could smell a Fart half way cross the Court. And he was pretty sure someone was about to try and Pounce him. He ducked out of the way Just as someone went flying.

"Ruggie" Leona said looking behind him. Ruggie blinked and grinned.

"Leona! Hey come back finally From getting the new Dormmate?" He smirked. Leona sighed this was turning out to be a tiring day.

"whats with all the Noise?" Yuu looked around so much to see it seemed. Ruggie put his hands behind his back and smiling big.

"Just a little fun!" He joked. Great now Leona would have to hear the constant noise of these people for hours. He was surrounded by idiots he swears sometimes he could just-

Yuu tugged a little on Leona's braid. Not enough to hurt but enough that Leona noticed and looked down. The Cub yawned and rubbed their eyes. Leona smirked.

"Well then guess the funs over. Brat needs a nap and so do I. Keep it down" He said. the Cub was turning out to be a nice Excuse to get out of shit. Perfect. He walked up the stairs and walked into his room. Closing the door he sighed. His ears flicked and he smirked. Silence. Looking around his room he scratched the back of his head. He had a Crib in his room. It wasn't much but when his brother had heard he was going to be watching a Cub during this year he had sent over a Crib. Honestly if he had time to read stupid Messages he had time to run the Kingdom.

This was unnecessary. Leona had put Cheka in his bed as a Cub often. They didn't need a stupid Crib. Though He guessed it was better then having to share a bed for a week. Leona walked over to the bed and set the Brat inside. They looked up at Leona and reached up. However the Lion cocked a hip and put a hand to it. What did it want now? Leona leaned down and Yuu put their hands to his cheek and kissed his nose.

"Ni bi" They said. Leona blinked and snorted.

'Ya ya night to brat" He said walking off. He was tired.

"Ahhhh! hahahaaaaaaa! Whaaa!" Leona shot awake and groaned. Great just Fucking Great! He knew this Stupid Brat was going to interrupt his sleep! He fell back into his bed and put a pillow over his head. But the Crying wouldn't stop! At this Rate the Cub was going to wake the Entire dorm! Sighing he sat up and walked over to the Cub. They cried and wiggled even turning in their sleep. suddenly Leona saw the issue. Fire. A flame was on the kids arm!!! Leona quickly grabbed his Pen and sent a small shot of water at the arm before grabbing the Cub.

He checked them over and turned on his light. Where had the Fire come from? The Cub? He had seen the cub had magical outbursts but to hurt them self with their own magic? He took of the ridiculous Onesie that Riddle had most likely put them in. Honestly that much blue was an Affront to his eyes. He looked at the Poor cubs arm. They Hickuped in his arms.

"Shhh its ok Cub, Leona got ya" He said rubbing their back like he used to do with Cheka. Stupid Hair ball was always getting hurt. He would fall and scrape his knees. Run off. It was like he was asking to get Kidnaped. Leona didn't know what he would do if-... No get it out of your head he thought. He wouldn't allow himself to Get attached. To both Cheka and this new cub.

He checked their arm and sighed. A small burn. He was sure he would never hear the end of it tomorrow. But for tonight he could put some ointment on it and a cool press. Healing magic wasn't something he was good at. However he could atleast do this for the Cub. It was Probably his fault.

Once he was done taking care of the Cub he looked down at them. The Cub sniffed and looked up at him with large Eyes. It caused a Thump in Leona's chest. He probably should have looked at the stupid Paper before he destroyed it. Maybe it would have told him what was wrong with them. He sighed and ran a hand through his hair. The cub however curled up in his lap.

Leona looked down at them. then looked at the Clock. 4 in the morning. Great. He picked up the Cub and sighed. Well might as well see about getting them Both feed. Shit normally Ruggie dies this. He walked down the Bridges and to the Dorm Kitchen. It wasn't much but it would do. He looked and saw Ruggie had gotten the Baby formula as Requested. Had to hand it to that Hyena he was resourceful.

"Well looks like its a Liquid diet for you" Leona said raising an eye brow. He could remember helping His brothers wife with Cheka during the nights. Farena would pass out and nothing would wake him. He used to say before sunrise Cheka was his wifes son. Leona shook his head as he smirked and started heating up the Formula. Looking down he gave the Cub it's milk.

He almost felt bad when the Cub drank down the first bottle and whined for another. Fuck he must have forgotten to feed the thing before drifting off. Leona sighed. well now he felt Guilty. This was so Tiring. He leaned against the counter and feed the Cub another bottle. Once again they drank it down before wiggling and pushing the bottle away.

"What's wrong Cub? Full?" They gurgled at Leona and he smirked and took a down at them. Grabbing a Towel he Through it over his shoulder. Placing Protection magic on it and himself along with the Cub he started to Burp them. After a moment there was a little burp and then a giggle along with some babbling of a sort.

"Really, And what else?" He smirked. Yuu giggled.

"gabana! Lafafa" Leona nodded.

'Oh is that so, Interesting" Yuu clapped their hands before wiggle there fingers at Leona.

"Leona? What are you doing up?" Fuck Ruggie just had to come right when he was acting like an Idiot didn't he. Leona straightened and held the Cub to his chest.

"Brat wanted some food. wasn't going to hear the end of it if I didn't comply" Leona said. Ruggie snickered.

"Well good to know I won't be on Wake up call then. Good job Cub." Leona rolled his eyes. This brat was going to be the Death of him.

"So all that talking to them was just helping them eat" Leona froze and scowled at Ruggie who had the biggest Shit eating Grin on his face.

"Not another word or It will be you I eat next" Ruggie held his hands up in Surrender before handing Leona his Breakfast.

"Here you eat, I'll take Cub duty" He said. Leona took the plate and handed Yuu to Ruggie.

'Fine, make sure they have a proper Bath and are dressed... I need to take them to the Nurse before Crowley" Ruggie blinked looking at Leona Confused.

"Brat got some Spunk. However they ended up injuring them self trying to get me up" Leona said taking a bite. Ruggie sighed and nodded before walking up to the Bathrooms.

Now if you had asked Ruggie how he thought he would spend his Sophomore year at NRC. Being a babysitter to not only a Lion but also an actual Cub well that was not on his list. however it was already proving to be an interesting year. Ruggie wasn't stupid by any means. In fact he was actually extremely smart. however Ruggie also knew it was better to be Underestimated the over. He bathed the littlest Cub and smiled at them. They were really cute!

Playing in the Bubbled. Not a care in the world. Poor thing didn't know the world they had been born into. Ruggie just hopped they never would. He hopped they grew up well Feed and happy and full of love. Basically the Opposite of how he had grown up before Granny found him.

He scrubbed the Cubs hair well as much as there was atleast and helped them get all nice and clean. His mind wondered to his past childhood. His Mother and Father dyeing and him ending up on the streets at only 5 years old. He remembered getting into fights and stealing to get by. He remembered the first time he Meet Leona. even if Leona himself didn't. He remembered his Granny finding him and taking him in. Blood relation or not. Hyena were Hyena and they stuck together.

She feed him as much as she could. She took care of him and protected him even when he did her wrong. She always stuck by his side and cleaned his wounds. She was more family then his original family would ever be. He saw how she shared all the food with the Children of the slums. how she was a healer to them as well. Never turning anyone away. But she was also Brash and would club you up side the head if she felt you fucked up. Boy how he loved her.

Yuu patted Ruggie's hand and he snickered. Kid knew when they were done. He lifted Yuu up and dried them off with one of Leona's towels. He wouldn't mind. He had plenty. Leona didn't mind if you took from him. didn't mind if you stole from him either. He just didn't care. All he wanted was sleep and to be left alone. Sometimes Ruggie just didn't get him. Finishing up he put a new Diaper on the Kiddo and put them in a random Onesie. A little Orange one. Well wasn't that just fitting.

With a smirk he walked down to Leona who took the Kid. Leona scowled and put his plate away. It was around 5 now. He might as well get up. The sun wasn't out so no good nap spaces would be available for a while.

Days passed along quickly. Leona would drop off and pick up the Cub. Leona would take night and Ruggie would take to Cleaning duty. As the days passed Leona realized just why this child was here. Why they seemed to have no one around to actually care for them. He was many things. Lazy, Entitled, Sly. but he was not an idiot. He saw the wounds on them. Read the File the Nurse had on the kid.

This child was not cared for by their family. What Leona could pull together from what little information they had. The cub was abandoned. Left for dead. Probably by Parents who didn't know how to deal with The Cubs outbursts. If nothing else the Cub was lucky that the Mirror took pity on them.

Leona walked to the office. It was the last day and he was finally going to be ride of the Cub. As he walked closer he felt himself being watched. He had the feeling the whole week. However he could not bother to deal with it. As long as they didn't approach he had no reason to care.

The Cub had a little braid in their hair. Ruggie probably trying to get him to feel some sort of attachment to the kid. It was not working. He did however find himself feeling a tad sad to see them go. They were a good excuse to take napes all day long. The weekend especially. He had not been disturbed the whole time.

The week however he found it hard to sleep correctly. Though his teachers did not question his falling asleep in class nor his need to leave. Which was a blessing. Why try when you could get away with not. Leona dropped the kid off and walked back to his dorm. He closed the door after telling Ruggie he was just going to bed.

Sitting on his bed though he felt a sense of loneliness. The kid was gone for another two months. and now it was to quiet. No second breathing as he fell asleep, No Feeling to make sure the Cub was safe in their bed. He felt a tear fall from his face and he quickly whipped it away.

He hadn't felt this way sense the day Farena's Wife told Leona that he wasn't needed to watch the Cub anymore. That it would be his last day. It was the day after Cheka said his first word.

Farena never forgave him for that. So he made sure to keep Cheka from his Uncle. Leona had made it his mission not to get attached anymore. He couldn't afford to care. He had to be indifferent. Had to keep up the ruse that he hated his Nephew. If nothing else then to be close to him.

Leona had made the mistake again. Of caring for yet another that was not his to keep. He sighed and closed his eyes. He was Tired. Tired of having to Pretend. Tired of having to Plot every move he had. Tired of feeling anything. He just wanted to sleep.

Sleep was the only thing that seemed to help. But even in his dreams those Big eyes looked up at him and Giggled. Their hands reaching out to be held. Leona fell asleep with a smile on his face. Missing the feeling of being needed.
