I tossed and turned for what felt like the remainder of the night, drifting in and out of sleep. At 9 am when John and Koe finally woke up I found myself pretending I was still asleep, I knew my tear stained eyes would be a dead give away of my sleepless night and I didn't want anything to harbor me getting to go with them to Koe's family event.

"Dude, he fucked up" Koe mumbles.

I couldn't see where he was anymore but it sounded like he was sitting himself up on the couch.

"That's what I'm saying, she's perfect. And she's actually a normal girl not some blonde bimbo" John was quick to reply, earning a grin from me under the covers.

Koe laughed a light laugh towards John before I hear him respond again.

"If you like her just say that bro" he chuckles, slapping John, I assume in the back.

"Shut up, what if she hears you" he rushes, lowering his voice a few notches.

I want to laugh with them but I couldn't break my cover, not yet at least.

"Man, i dont know anyone else that would drop everything he was doing and rush over to comfort a girl he just met like you just did my dude" koes laugh growing louder with each word.

"I mean she is hot, just admit it" Koe finishes finally standing up from the couch.

"That isn't it, she's like smart and humble and-" he was cut off by a knocking on the door making me jump out of bed.

I hope my cover wasn't blown.

Koe shot me a wink as I walked towards the door, Just as Kayla began talking on the other side.

"Put some clothes on babe, and let me in before these crazy girls find me again" I rolled my eyes with a laugh before pulling the door open for her, "nice to see you too, babe"

"Damn you really do have the whole meat gallery here don't you" she laughs, making her way into my now crowded hotel room.

"And this one here, this one's my speed" Koe chuckles, smacking John on the shoulder, "with respect to my dude Luke of course" Koe bows, blowing Kayla a sloppy kiss.

"Mhmm, that's what they all say." She grins, throwing herself on my messy bed.

"So, what are the plans today" she huffs, propping herself up on her elbows moving her eyes between us three."

"I vote we bust out of this place" I gush, standing back up and grabbing the clothes I had laid out the night before.

"I agree with the lady" Koe grins, taking a sip of his whisky from the night before.

"You really are how you claim to be" I giggle, John shooting me a wink in the process.

"The one, the only" John laughs, pointing at Koe like a prize.

I quickly dress myself and put myself back together the best I can, I was about to meet the Wetzel family in all of their glory.

"Let's roll, hoes" Kayla giggles, pulling me along with her by my elbow.

We rush out of the back of the hotel and into the car Koe and John had waiting for us. "Next stop, Koe's paradise" he grins, taking another swing from the warm brown bottle wrapped tightly in his hands.

"You need anything?" John whispers, just loud enough for me to hear.

"I'm fine" I whisper back. A bump in the road causing my lips to brush his ear as I spoke.

"I'm so sorry!" I stutter, turning quickly to face back forward in the small suv.

But I didn't get the response or look of disapproval I was expecting. Instead he slowly snuck his hand onto my knee, where he gave it a light squeeze as if to tell me it wasn't as big of a deal as I was making it out to be.

"So we are about 5 minutes out, just so you guys know" Koe speaks, not peeling his eyes away from the tik tok that was playing on his screen.

I felt my heart beat begin to quicken, in minutes I would be In front of a 100's of Koe's family members and if we are being honest I had no business even being at the party.

A cool breeze ran across my knee as John finally moved his hand away from my skin, Kayla shooting me a knowing look wiggling her eyebrows as she watched the scene to her right. Her mouth making a kissy face as she winked in my direction.

A buzzing in my pocket pulling me to my phone.

Have fun today, Luke told me where'd you'd be

It was all he wrote, but it was more than enough to make my stomach churn. Why couldn't Morgan just be my knight in shining armor.
