"I'm pregnant."

Those words sink in Morgan's stomach. He laughs at first, hoping she's just joking but his heart drops at the look she gives him. "Are-are you sure?"

"I have an appointment next week." She sniffles, wiping her eyes. "I'm sorry."

"This..." he takes a deep breath, running his hand through his long hair. "This ain't your fault." He looks over at her. "Is this what you've been hidin' on tour? When-when did you find out?"

"We might've been in Louisiana, could've been Jacksonville-"

"Woah. That was the beginnin' of tour! Why were you keepin this a secret!?"

"Please don't yell at me right now, Morgan." Her voice is barely above a whisper. He clenches his jaw as he turns his attention to his empty tea bottle. "You think this is tough on you? You're not the one that's gonna be pushing a fuckin' pot roast through your goddamn vagina." He visibly shutters.

He huffs, rolling his lips in his mouth as he runs his hand through his hair again. He silently walks down the hall to the bathroom, locking the door behind him so he can take a shower in peace.

Maggie lets herself cry, not holding anything back as she strips her clothes off and changes into a pair of shorts and a baggy Alabama tee before she hides herself under the clean bedsheets.

Morgan has tagged along to the appointment and is overcome with so many different emotions when he sees the small blob of him and his girlfriend on the screen in front of them. He subconsciously grabs Mags's hand, in total awe as the doctor points things out to them. "Do y'all wanna know what it is?"

"You can tell this early?"

"You're 'bout four-ish months along." Morgan and Maggie share a look that has her chewing her lip anxiously. "Well?"

"Uh..."

The doctor hands Mags a towel to clean herself up with. "I'll tell y'all what, I'll write it down and stick it in an envelope and you can open it when you want."

"Sure." Morgan helps his girlfriend sit up. "Thanks."

"Enjoy the rest of your day, y'all." The doctor says as she leaves the two.

The couple make their way to her car. It's tense and awkward, the car ride home but they're okay with the quiet. "Are you mad at me?" Maggie asks in a soft voice as she parks her car next to his truck.

"No." He answers truthfully. "I'm not mad at you."

"Then why-"

"It's a huge shock, Mags. I mean you've know for months and never told me. Were you ever gonna tell me or were you just gon' birth the kid then tell me that I have a kid?"

"I wanted to tell you but I was scared. How do you tell someone that you ruined their life- their freedom-"

"You did not ruin my life, baby. Sure, I won't be able to fuck around as much but I'll have you and our kid waitin' for me at home." She looks down at the envelope in her lap. "What's those party things called where you can like cut open a cake and inside is the gender?"

"A gender reveal party?"

"We could do that." She sighs, rubbing her tired, bloodshot eyes. "Baby shower?"

"I don't want to make this a big deal."

"It is a big deal, Mags. You're havin' a baby- you're havin' my baby." She rolls her eyes. "We should get married."

"What!?"

"What? We've been engaged before and I was gonna ask you when we got home from touring anyways- shit I wanted to surprise you." He sighs, rubbing his face.

The front door opens revealing Caleigh and Michael. "What're they doin' here?" Maggie asks, unbuckling her seatbelt.

Morgan sighs again, giving her knee a pat. "I invited em over for after your appointment." His face drops. "Does this mean we can't have sex no more?" Maggie cackles at the sudden question, her eyes scrunching up as she leans forward, gripping the steering wheel. "Don't laugh! It's a serious question!"

She continues laughing loudly on her way to the house, tears in her eyes. "What's so funny?" Michael asks from his spot at the table.

"Nothin'." She hiccups, setting her purse on the kitchen counter, wiping her eyes as she giggles quietly.

"How was your lady doctor?"

"Did you guys find out what you're havin'?" Caleigh asks brightly, pulling a dish from the oven. "Can I guess?"

"You can but we don't know the answer." Maggie says, exhaling heavily as she sits at the table next to Michael.

"What!?"

"But, Morgan had a idea about a reveal party."

"Oh my goodness, that sounds adorable!" She beams, clasping her hands together. "I can take care of it."

Maggie and Morgan share a look before it turns into a smile. "Sure." She laughs, pulling the envelope from her pocket.

Caleigh's fingers twitch at the seal before she slides it in her purse. "I'll go to the bakery in the morning and get something set up."

She puts a hand to her slight bump. "Thank you, Cal."

Morgan watches his girlfriend get ready for bed in the joined bathroom. She looks even more beautiful now that she's on the road to becoming a mother. His blue eyes rake over her growing figure; her breasts and belly. "I can you feel you lookin' at me." She mumbles, pulling a baggy t-shirt on, letting it fall around her changing body. She ties her hair up in a messy bun then slides her glasses on.

"You're gonna be one sexy momma." He bites his lip.

"Oh whatever." She rolls her eyes, her hand cradling the fetus inside her. "You're full of shit, Wallen."

Maggie sighs heavily, cuddling under the warm, cozy bedsheets with her boyfriend. He leans over and kisses her softly, lovingly. "What do you think it is?"

"I hope it's a girl." She yawns, rubbing her eyes under her glasses. "Don't think I can handle a boy."

"Well, I hope it's a boy." He smirks back, she rolls her eyes. "Do you think we're gonna be good parents?"

"Yeah." She shrugs. "Probably. We're not our parents." Morgan nods, turning the bedside lamp off. "What does this mean for us?"

"What do you mean?"

"People say havin' kids really changes-"

"Don't worry about us, Gracie." He kisses her cheek. "Get some sleep."

She sets her glasses on the nightstand and slides down under the sheets, smiling when she feels Morgan's hand slide to hold her belly, his lips against the back of her neck as they drift off asleep together.

Caleigh tells the soon-to-be parents to come over the following Saturday for their party. Maggie is nervous and excited and anxious while Morgan is as cool as a cucumber. He pats her hand as they walk up to the front door and knock on the deep brown wood.

"There they are!" Caleigh squeaks, welcoming them into hers and Michael's home and out to the backyard. "Come on!"

"Hey y'all." Maggie smiles at the small group of friends and family. "You convinced our dads to come out here?"

"Didn't take much convincing." Michael mutters, his hand on Morgan's shoulder.

"Magnolia." Frank says, tucking the back of his nice pearl snap shirt into his belted blue jeans.

"Frank." She spits back, grabbing an Arizona Tea from the cooler. She snaps the tab off the can and slips it in Morgan's shorts pocket. "What're you doin here?"

"You think I's gon' miss my baby girl's party?" Maggie looks away as she rolls her big blue eyes. "You look just like your momma." He says fondly as he messes with a couple curls. "She woulda loved to be here with you."

"Where's Naomi?"

"I don't know." He shrugs, cracking the cap off a beer.

"Caleigh." Maggie grabs the girls arm as she's walking past her. "When's the thing?"

"Now, if you want." She grins, pulling her hand to the table they have set up with a cake on it and balloons surrounding it. "Morgan!"

He joins his girlfriend with a nervous smile as he adjusts his nice long sleeve tee. "Ready?"

"As I'll ever be." Maggie picks up the knife, Morgan's hand around hers. They sink the blade into the plain white cake as her eyes are squeezed shut while his are open. "What is it?"

"It's a boy!" Morgan laughs, cackles really. She giggles, wrapping her arms around her boyfriend with tears in her eyes. Maggie kisses him, smiling against his lips.

The two make their way to the front porch swing to take a breather. "Baby boy." Morgan grins, his hand on her bump. She closes her eyes as she leans her head back. "You got your wish." Morgan bites his lip as he kneels down in front of her, a small velvet box in his hand. "You're gonna have your hands full," she opens her eyes and looks down at him. "Wh-what're you doin'?"

"Wanna give this a second chance?" He asks with a small smile on his lips.

"Hell yeah!" She laughs, letting him slide the ring on her finger before she leans over and kisses him passionately.

Morgan and Maggie eloped before their son was born; Parker Cole and he is a handful.

He's always getting into trouble. "Momma!" Their four-year-old shouts, his muddy bare feet slapping against the tiled kitchen floor with his hands full of dirt. "Momma!" Morgan comes running in after him with matching mud on his bare feet. "Momma, look!"

"Whatcha got, baby boy?" She asks as Morgan picks him up, ignoring the mud that smears on his clothes.

He opens his tiny little toddler hands and shows her the frog he's holding. She squeaks, making a face. "His name is Jumpy!"

"You gon' let him go home? I bet his momma and daddy are missin' him lots." Parker gasps, holding the frog against his bare chest before he wriggles his way out of his father's arms and to the back door to safely release the amphibian back into the wet grass.

Maggie sighs as she follows the two sets of foot prints from the front door to the back door. "These boys." She shakes her head as she grabs a bucket from under the kitchen sink to fill with soapy water to scrub the floor.

"Park- Parker!" Maggie's head shoots up as she looks through the back door at the sight of her husband scooping their son out of a mud puddle. "Your momma ain't gon' be happy, son."

"Damn right, Wallen." Maggie can't help but laugh as she tosses him the garden hose then cradles her growing bump. "Get him cleaned up so I can take him upstairs for his bath."

"You got it, momma." Morgan winks, sitting on the deck with his son as he starts rinsing him off. Maggie's heart soars at the matching giggles her two boys have, she's never felt so complete before.

"Hey!" She shrieks when she's blasted with the freezing water, giving Morgan that famous mothering look of hers before her face splits into a grin.

This is her life- her family and she's beyond blessed and thankful.

They've both slowed their music careers shortly after becoming parents, with another one on the way, but now it's mostly her helping him write his songs under her maiden name; she's kind of retired from touring and recording.

Maggie is still one of the top songwriters in Nashville and she has no idea how but she's grateful; grateful to still be able to do what she loves.

She's blessed with a loving husband and their beautiful son and future daughter and she wouldn't trade it for anything in the world.

***

Damn.

Another one down.

I really enjoyed this one a lot.

But I've been cranking out a new story; Tennessee Tipsy.

It's kinda different than what I've done before but i think it's real cute. Hopefully y'all do too.
