《Neon in the Dark - Morgan Wallen》Twenty Eight

"Rise and Shine!" Maggie shouts, tearing the curtains open. Morgan whines loudly, pulling a pillow over his head. "Up! Up! Up!"
"Fuck off." He groans, squeezing his eyes shut.
"C'mon, Morgan! We gotta leave for tour in an hour!" He grunts, curling up tighter under the bedsheets. "Wallen, let's go!" She yanks the blankets off the bed and throws them to the floor, pulling his ankle to drag him down the bed.
"Fuck off!" He shouts, trying to hide the sleepy smile on his face. "Mornin'."
"Good Mornin'!" She beams back. Morgan grins at the sight of Maggie in her natural state; her glasses, hair in a messy bun, a baggy t-shirt and sweats with a bare face. "What?"
Morgan just shakes his head as he reaches out and grabs her hand, pulling her back down to the bed. She giggles, flopping next to him. "We gotta get finished packin', Morgan."
"We have plenty of time, baby." He smirks back, starting to press his lips against her jaw. "We can be quick."
"N-no, fine." Morgan smiles against her neck, his hand sliding behind her sweatpants waistband and into her panties.

The three and Caleigh are on their way to Columbia, South Carolina for the first night. The vibes are a helluva lot better on this tour than her first one. "I've never been to Columbia." Maggie says, a beer tight in her hand as she leans against the small counter across from Morgan.
"We might not have time to sight see." Caleigh says. "But if we do, I'll walk around with you."
"Sounds good." Maggie smiles back. "How much longer til we're there?"
"'Bout four hours." Brooks answers, taking a drink of his coffee. "We woulda been there by now if we didn't have to wait for y'all to finish fuckin' 'round."
"Sorry." Maggie blushes bright red. "I'm gonna go lay down for a bit, my stomach is feelin' weird." She whispers to Morgan, giving his bicep a squeeze before she slowly makes her way to her bunk.
A couple hours later, Caleigh goes back to check on Maggie. Her bunk is empty so she checks the bathroom. "Hang on." Her voice groans. She has her eyes squeezed shut as she fans herself with her hand.
"You okay?" She asks, leaning against the door.
"Yeah." She breathes, hunching over the toilet before she gags and upchucks whatever is in her belly.
"Mags?"
"Can you get me a bottle of water please?" Caleigh silently picks up one from the fridge and knocks on the door. Maggie weakly raises her arm and turns the handle, dropping herself back against the wall as she struggles to catch her breath. "Thanks."
"You okay?" She asks as she sits next to her on the cramped bathroom floor.
"Peachy." She shakily cracks her water bottle open and takes a small sip. "It's just my nerves."
"Do you need anything?"
"I just need some rest." She gets herself to her feet and somehow to her bunk without falling from how dizzy she's feeling after puking her guts out. She peeks out past the curtain and sees Caleigh whisper something to the guys but soon she's passed out.

Maggie's pacing around the stage with a bottle of Gatorade in her shaky hand. "You okay?" Caleigh asks quietly from her spot on a trunk. "Feeling any better?"
"Not really." She mumbles back, looking down at the set list that taped to the floor. "I'm sure I'll feel better once the show is over."
"Mags!" Brooks shouts, rushing over to her. "Guess what!"
"What?"
"In August, the three of y'all are in a festival!" Maggie's face drops. "It's with a bunch of other country artists- you okay?"
"I think I'm gonna be sick." She shoves past the tour manager and rushes to the backside of the venue, doubling over as she gags again.
"Woah- are you gonna be able to perform tonight?" Brooks asks, crouching next to her.
"Yeah, I'll be fine." She says, leaning against the brick wall of the venue. "I'm gon' run to a drugstore and get somethin' for my stomach."
"Okay, hurry back." Maggie nods and heads back inside to grab Caleigh's hand, dragging her to the nearby CVS.
=
After Maggie gets some medication in her, she's feeling good enough to perform but the comment that Caleigh had mentioned to her in the store keeps rattling around in her head. "What if you're pregnant?" She had said kind of jokingly but those words made her upset stomach sink even more. Maggie had picked up a box of pregnancy tests and she has them stored away in a hiding spot; under her mattress in her bunk.
In the middle of her set, she glaces over at Morgan and Michael, they're singing along with her. "This next song is one that's near and dear to my heart." She snaps the mic back into the head of the stand before she brushes her hair back behind her shoulders. "This is Something To Be Proud Of."
Maggie adjusts her fringe jacket before she sets her hands on the mic, her eyes closed as she starts singing,
"There's a story that my daddy tells religiously, like clockwork every time he sees an opening in a conversation about the ways things used to be..."
She grins when she hears the audience already screaming her lyrics back to her. Between versus, she swallows hard, failing to force tears back as they slip down her cheeks.
"That's something to be proud of. That's a life you can hang your hat on. That's a chin held high as the tears fall down, a gut sucked in, a chest stuck out like a small town flag a-flyin or a newborn baby cryin' in the arms of a woman that you love, that's something to be proud of..."
She takes a deep breath as the song ends and wipes her face. She wasn't expecting to get emotional.
Maybe she is pregnant.
=
A few days later, Maggie sneaks off to the bathroom to take a pregnancy test. She holds her breath as she bounces her knee, her heart pounding out of her chest. Caleigh stands outside of the stall for moral support, keeping time on her phone. "Time." She says.
"I can't look." Maggie whimpers, her eyes screwed shut as she holds the test out from under the stall door. "You do it."
"It's negative."
Maggie laughs in relief, tears in her eyes. "Are you sure?"
"One line- but you don't know how accurate these things are so I'd take another one to see if it's negative still."
"Okay, yeah sure." Maggie nods and fumbles with the purple and white box.
"Girls, c'mon! Bus is leavin!" Brooks shouts, pounding on the bathroom door.
"Okay!" Caleigh yells back, sliding the box into purse. "C'mon." The brunette takes the blonde's hand in her and walks with her back to the bus.

Maggie immediately hides herself in the back lounge, curling up on the couch under a big Tennessee Titans blanket, her eyes glued to the blank TV screen as the bus heads to Augusta, Georgia for the next show.
Around three in the morning, Morgan slides out of his bunk and heads to the back lounge, pressing his ear against the divider separating the two areas. He presses his lips together as he quietly pushes the slider to the side, his eyes widening in the dark as he looks around for his girlfriend. "Gracie?"
She hums in response, rolling on her side with the blanket pulled up to her shoulders as she sleeps. He sighs at the sight and slides onto the cramped couch with her, his arm around her comfortably with her head on his chest.
They actually get some good sleep up until they're woken by shouting and swearing coming from the front of the bus.
Maggie whines softly, rubbing her eyes while Morgan takes a deep breath, yawning loudly as his legs stretch below them. "Mornin." He whispers, rubbing her back. "How're you feelin'?"
"Been better, been worse, probably just my period comin'." Morgan scrunches his face up. "Does that gross you out?"
"Kinda."
"Ovulation." She drags the word out, poking him in the belly as she talks. "Tampon."
"Ew, stop it."
"Menstruation." He visibly shutters, slipping out from under her. "Uterus-"
"Stop it!" She laughs tiredly, pulling a baggy sweatshirt on. "Do you, y'know, need anything for your... thing?"
"No, baby, I don't." She leans over and kisses his cheek. "Did we make it to Georgia?"
"We made it through Georgia. We're in Florida."
"Did- did I miss Georgia?"
Morgan laughs. "No, Georgia's next week." He squeezes her shoulders. "But we're in Jacksonville tonight and tomorrow so-"
"Hotel beds!" She squeals. "I can't wait to take a real shower and- and get some sleep."
"You fuckin idiot!" Michael shouts from the front followed by booing and laughing.
Maggie and Morgan head to the front lounge to be greeted with the guys playing video games while Caleigh is doing her make up. "What the hell, y'all?" Maggie says, throwing a handful of popcorn back at the guys. "Y'all know I'm gon' end up cleanin' this shit up-"
"Oh, no you're not, Mags." Brooks says over her, hanging her a solo cup.
"It's not even noon yet!"
"It's five o'clock somewhere!" Everyone says in unison, wild laughing following.
"Bottoms up!" She shrugs, downing whatever was in the cup. "Attagirl!" She coughs harshly before she holds her cup out for more.
After about an hour of partying, Maggie is kinda tipsy while everyone else is drunk with Caleigh being the most sober.
"Okay y'all, we're in Jacksonville." The driver announces, pulling into the lot. "Good luck tonight."
"Thanks, George." Maggie slurs out, grabbing Morgan's arm to keep herself steady on her bare feet.
"It's Tommy." Michael snickers, filing off the bus behind the rest of the crew. Maggie leaps onto Morgan's back so he carries her to the venue.
"Morgan." She whispers loudly, her voice echoing off the walls of the room. "Psst."
"What?"
"I'm hungry." She runs her hand from her chest down to her belly. "And I'm horny."
"Caleigh's gettin us some lunch, baby." He smirks.
"That solves one problem." Maggie bites her lip as she gives him a once over. "Hey, Dean." She turns to the guy messing with the guitars. "Can y'all start with Michael for soundcheck? We'll- uh- be back." She grips her boyfriends hand and drags him to the bathroom for a quickie.
=
"Hey y'all!" Maggie chirps into the mic as she slings her favorite acoustic guitar off her shoulder and hands it to Dean before she sits her blue jean clad ass down on the piano bench, she's still kinda drunk but more sober than before. "Jacksonville, Florida." She hums, looking around at the crowd with that pretty smile of hers. "Thanks for havin' us here tonight."
The audience cheers in response.
"Anyway, this next song is one that I've worked on for a while. It's different than what I've written before but it came from a special place in my heart about a special person in my life." She blushes, glancing off to the wings at Morgan who is already grinning back at her. "This is I'll Follow You." Maggie licks her lips as she starts playing a couple chords.
"If I could find assurance to leave you behind, I know my better half would fade and all my doubts is a staircase for you opened out of this base. The first step is the one you believe in, the second one might be profound,
I'll follow you down to the eye of the storm, don't worry I'll keep you warm. I'll follow you down while we're passing through space, I don't care if we fall from grace, I'll follow you down..."
Morgan's actually choked up, he actually wipes away a stray tear. He's so beyond in love with this woman that his heart can barely take it.
"I'll follow you down to where forever lies, without a doubt I'm on your side. There's no where else I'd rather be. I'm not about to compromise, give you up to say goodbye. I've got you through the deep, I'll keep you close to me..."
After she repeats the hook, she takes a deep breath to calm her emotions. She stands, her cowboy boots thumping against the wooden floor of the stage as she picks up her guitar and stands at the mic stand. She gives Morgan a wink before she kicks into her next song.
"I've seen pick up lines and dive bars strangers slow dance. I've seen happy hour two-for-ones turn to one night stands. I've seen neon rebounds and late night drunk dials.
I've seen that Cinderella fairytale go up in cigarette smoke. I've seen two hearts bet it all and still end up broke. The real thing won't be easy, yeah, it might take a while.
But I want that all in, fallin', keep that fire burnin' like that first time feeling. No matter what if I'm gonna love, I'm gonna love somebody like that, kinda heart, open arms, says forever and will never take it back. If I'm gonna love, I'm gonna love somebody like that..."
Soon, her set ends and she bounces backstage, immediately greeted with open arms from Morgan. He lifts her off her feet, smiling against her cheek. "Your songs were beautiful, baby."
"Thanks." She laughs, her arms still tight around him after her feet are flat on the floor. Maggie slides her hands to the side of his face, kissing him sweetly. "I love you."
He bumps her nose with his, that goofy grin of his on his pretty lips. "I love you too."

Godfather Of Champions
This is a story about the pursuit of victory.— «I subscribe only to the theory of victory. I only pursue victory. As long as I am able to obtain victory, I don’t care if it’s total football or counterattack. What is the ultimate goal of professional soccer? In my opinion, it is victory, and the pinnacle of victory is to become the champions. I am a manager. If I don’t wish to lose my job or be forgotten by the people, there’s only one path for me to take, and that is to lead the team in obtaining victories, in obtaining championship titles!»The main character was not well-liked by people.— «⋯We conducted a survey which had been deemed by Manager Tony Twain as extremely meaningless. In a random street survey conducted, ninety-three percent of those surveyed chose the option ‘I hate Tony Twain’, while only seven percent chose the option ‘This person is rather decent, I like him’. It is worth noting that nobody chose the option ‘Who is Tony Twain? I don’t know him’. Mark, do you know why Manager Twain felt that our survey was very meaningless?» Parker, a reporter from laughed loudly and said when he was being interviewed by BBC.But there were also people who were madly in love with him.— When Tony Twain was forced to talk about the survey conducted by during an interview, his reply was : «I am happy, because Nottingham Forest’s fans make up seven percent of England’s population.»And he did not seem to care about how the others saw him.— «What are you all trying to make me say? Admit that I am not popular, and everywhere I go will be filled with jeers and middle fingers. You all think I will be afraid? Wrong! Because I am able to bring victory to my team and its supporters. I don’t care how many people hate me and can’t wait to kill me, and I also won’t change myself to accommodate the mood of these losers. You want to improve your mood? Very simple, come and defeat me.»His love story had garnered widespread attention.— «Our reporters took these pictures at Manager Tony Twain’s doorsteps. It clearly shows that Shania entered his house at 8.34pm and she did not leave the house throughout the night at all. But Manager Tony Twain firmly denies, and insists that that was merely the newest-model inflatable doll which he had ordered. He was the number one star of the team.— «⋯ Became the spokesperson of world-wide famous clothing brands, shot advertisements, frequented the fashion industry’s award ceremonies, endorsed electronic games, has a supermodel girlfriend. His earnings from advertisements exceed his club salary by seventeen times, owns a special column in various print medias, publishing his autobiography (in progress), and is even said that he is planning to shoot an inspirational film based off his own person experiences! Who can tell me which part of his life experiences is worthy of being called ‘inspirational’? Hold on⋯. Are you all thinking that I’m referring to David Beckham? You’re sorely mistaken! I’m talking about Manager Tony Twain⋯.»He was very knowledgeable about Chinese soccer.— «⋯ I’ve heard about it, that Bora gifted four books to his manager Mr. Zhu before your country’s national team’s warm up match. After which, the team lost 1:3 to a nameless American team from Major League Soccer. The new excuse that Mr. Zhu gave for losing the match, was that Bora gifted «books» (‘books’ and ‘lose’ are homophones in the Chinese language). Here, I recommend that you guys find out what that one specific book is. Which book? Of course the one that caused you all to score a goal. After that, tell me the title of the book. Before every match, I will gift ten copies of that same book to you. In that case, won’t you all be able to get a triumphant 10:0 win over your opponents every time?» An excerpt taken from Tony Twain’s special column in a certain famous Chinese sports newspaper. He was loved and hated by the press.— «He has a special column in at least four renowned print media, and he is able to get a considerable amount of remuneration just by scolding people or writing a few hundred words of nonsense weekly. While we have to contemplate hard about our drafts for three days before our boss is pleased with it. In an article inside his special column, he scolded and called all of the media ‘son of a bitch’, announcing that he hated the media the most. But every time he publishes an article, we flock towards him like flies which had spotted butter. Why? Because the readers like to read his news and see him scold people. I dare to bet with you, and Manager Tony Twain knows clearly in his heart as well, that even though he says that he hates us, he knows that the present him cannot do without us. Similarly, we also cannot do without him. Is this ultimately considered a good or a bad thing?» Bruce Pearce, a reporter from said with a face of helplessness when talking about Tony Twain. But no matter the case, his players were his most loyal believers.— Gareth Bale, «No no, we never had any pressure when playing on our home grounds. Because the pressure is all on the manager. As long as we see him standing by the side of the field, all of us will feel that we will be able to win that match. Even the football hooligans are like meek lambs in front of him!» (After saying this, he began to laugh out loudly)The reply from George Wood, the team captain of Nottingham Forest, was the most straightforward. «We follow him because he can bring us victory.»The legendary experience of Tony Twain, the richest, most successful, most controversial manager with the most unique personality!Debuting this summer.Thank you for reading.

The Fall of The Gods
Synopsis: In the year 1966, an army of Orishas led by Sango stormed Amadioha’s palace and razed it the ground, starting a decades-long war between two of Nigeria’s most powerful divine orders. Blinded by the rage of battle, the gods did not detect the rise of a third power, far greater and deadlier than anything they could have imagined. When gods, on both the Yoruba and Igbo sides, begin falling mysteriously to their death, Sango seeks the help of Odion, a Lagos teenager destined to rise from his dark past to become a hero. But can a human hero save the gods from a doomed fate? The Fall of the Gods is an action-packed YA fantasy based on the mythical bond that ties human life with the realm of the divine. It demonstrates the power of stories to change our lives. It also reminds us that Sango and Amadioha are not relics of the past and that, sometimes, what it means to be a hero in today’s world is knowing how to find inspiration in the stories of the gods. PLEASE NOTE: Weekly chapters will be released every friday along with interludes once in a while about Nigerian mythology. I'm a young 17 year old writer and I am new to the site so I will appreciate your comments and reviews. Thank you very much.
