Maggie has moved in with Riley a couple months after she's gotten home from her first tour and they've been living together for almost six months. "Hey, can I ask you somethin?" Riley asks as he comes to the bedroom from his small work space around one in the morning.

Her heart stops as she looks up from her book. "Sure."

"What do you think about this song?" He sets his laptop on the dresser and plugs it into the set of speakers.

"When she comes home tonight, we'll take the clock off the wall, draw them curtains, let our clothes just lay where they fall. We'd turn down the lights and let our hands be our eyes, be just her and I, we'll take our time when she comes home tonight..."

Maggie blushes as she looks up at her fiancé. "Very sexy, Ri." She gives him that infamous look of hers that has him smirking back. "When did you write that?"

"When you got back from tour." She blushes hard as she thinks back to that night. It was nothing but sex. She was surprised how many rounds they went before they became too exhausted- even after their lazy round, there was still one more; twelve weeks is a long time to be away from your partner. "You really like it?"

"I do." She bites her lip as she sets her book off to the side, scooting her way down to the foot of the bed. He grins, his hands on cool sheets behind her, kissing her sweetly; nothing like the way Morgan does. She craves to be handled like that again; it always got the two of them going into hot sex.

Her phone starts going off as Riley has his mouth against her neck. "Fuckin hell- hello?" She snaps when she answers. "Yeah, this is she. What? Who is this? Oh shit." She sits up, her hand on her mouth. "Are you serious? Okay, yeah I'm on my way." She hangs up as she slides out from under him.

"What? You okay?" Riley asks, standing up. "Mags."

"That was the police department." Riley shrugs, crossing his arms as he leans back against the dresser. "Morgan got arrested."

"Why'd he call you?" He snaps, watching his fiancé get dressed into a pair of jeans, a tank top, and a flannel jacket.

"I was the only number he knew by heart." She responds, picking up her purse. "Don't give me that look, Ri. He's a friend, okay?"

He rolls his eyes. "Whatever. I gotta go." Maggie heads to her car then down to the police station.

"What the hell did you do?" Maggie whisper shouts at her ex boyfriend. She takes in his appearance; his eyes are bloodshot and barely open. "Are you drunk?" He shrugs, rubbing his face. "Dude-"

"Are you Miss Magnolia Wilson?" A big burly officer asks, a file under his tattooed arm. She nods, having to look up at the man that's talking to her. "Can I speak to you in private?" She nods again, following him out to the hallway. The officer politely hands her a cup of coffee.

"What's- uh- what happened?" She pulls her jacket tight around her body. "Is he okay?"

"Public intoxication and disorderly conduct."

"Oh my god." She shakes her head. "What happened?" He tells her what happened. Morgan got piss drunk with a couple of his friends at one in the morning and were yelling and hooting and hollering at each other on the street. It was in , for sure but they were just being rowdy. "Fucking idiot." She shakes her head. "So, Officer, uh, Baker, what now?"

"Well, we hold him for a couple days or you can bail his dumbass out for a couple grand."

"I- I don't have a couple grand." She says, running her hand through her wild curls. "How many days would he have to stay?"

"Three, minimum." He responds, checking the girl in front of him out. "He your boyfriend?"

"Childhood friend." She sighs. "Can I talk to him?" Officer Baker nods, his hand on the small of her back as he guides her to the door of the holding room. "Morgan." She sighs as she sits next to him, handing him the cup of coffee. He groans as he lifts his head from the table.

"Sorry for botherin' you this late." He mumbles, taking a swallow of the hot coffee. "I'm sor- I'm sorry." He whimpers, tears in his eyes. He's embarrassed and still kinda drunk as he drops his head against her shoulder, sniffling quietly while she wraps his arm around him, rubbing his back. "So, what's happenin' to me?"

"They're keepin you for a few days." He nods, burying his face in her neck. "But hey, I'll be here when they let you out."

"Thank you." He whispers as he pulls away, wiping his eyes. "You should go home, y'know, to your fiancé."

"I gave my number to the guy at the desk and he'll call me when you're gettin' out, okay?" He takes a deep breath and nods. "Okay." She kisses his forehead before heading out to her car to go back home.

Riley is already asleep in their bed when she joins him, kicking her jeans off before slipping under the sheets. Maggie starts to snuggle against him when he turns on his side away from her. She shakes her head, "Fine. Two can play at that game." She thinks as she grabs a pillow off the bed and a blanket from the linen closet before she cozies up on the couch. From the spot on the couch, she's able to watch the sun come up, her heart aching at the thought of her ex alone in a cold cell.

"Mornin'." She says when she sees her fiancé in the kitchen, pouring himself a cup of coffee. He doesn't respond, doesn't even look at her as he silently sits himself on the porch to watch the sun finish rising. Maggie huffs, shaking her head as she pulls her blanket up to her shoulders and dozes off again.

"C'mon, three more steps." Maggie strains out as she helps Morgan up the porch to his house. He cries out as he puts pressure on his aching body, he eyes squeezing shut with each step. "One, two and three." She helps him into the bathroom. "Sit here." He nods, slowly lowering himself to sit on the closed toilet seat while she starts him a nice relaxing bath. Morgan pulled a muscle in his groin, stepped off first base weird and felt something pop and now he can barely move his leg and he pitched nonstop through a double header and he put a lot of strain on his rotator cuff and labrum; both are weak but set up to do some major damage in the future. If he tears either, he's out for the season, probably longer.

Maggie crouches down to take his cleats and socks off then she helps him with his uniform and t-shirt underneath since he can hardly move his right arm without something clicking. He feels so useless as his girlfriend helps him undress because he didn't want to tell his coach that he was feeling like shit. He winces as he stands, his right arm cradled against his bare torso while Maggie helps him slide his baseball pants off. "Ready?" He nods, his left arm around her shoulders as she helps him into the tub. He breathes out a soft moan, the hot water already helping relax his tired body.

"Thanks." He mutters, closing his eyes. "I don't know what I would've done without you."

"You'd probably still be layin' on the grass behind the dugout." She says softly, tucking his hair behind his ear. "You can't do this to yourself, Morgan."

"Well, I already did." He grumbles, crying out as he moves further down into the tub, letting his hair get wet and start to turn into those pretty waves he hides.

"Do you need anything?" He shakes his head so she stands and leaves him be.

After about an hour, Maggie helps him out of the tub, dries him off then gets him into his bed. He cries out as he brings his leg up. "You're lucky your dad's outta town right now. He probably woulda make you walk home." He scoffs out a laugh, wincing but then relaxing once he's situated on his bed. "Here." Mags hands him a bottle of aspirin and a glass of water then runs her hand over his cheek, leaning down to kiss him softly. When she pulls away, she sees tears in his eyes. "W-what? What's wrong?" This is the only time she's seen him like this; misty eyed.

"I don't deserve you." He whispers, using his good arm to wipe off his face. "You really are somethin else." Maggie rolls her eyes as she slides into bed with him after taking her jeans off and pulling on one of his t-shirts. "I really don't deserve you."

"You better start puttin' out then." She teases back, resting her head on his good shoulder. "Try to get some sleep, okay?"

He nods but never falls asleep that night.

True to her word, Magnolia Grace is there at the police station at the end of the last day. Morgan is beyond exhausted as he trudges to her car, slumping into the passenger seat before Maggie drives him to his house.

He stumbles up the front porch steps, rubbing his eyes so hard he sees spots. She opens his door and heads to his laundry room to grab him clean sheets and clothes to help him relax. "Mags, just go home. I'll be fine."

"No." She says, stripping his bed.

"No? What?" She gives him a look that has him sighing to himself, giving in because he's too tired to fight. He lets her do what she wants while he gets a hot shower. She grabs his dirty clothes from the bathroom and gathers his sheets before heading to the laundry room to do a load.

Morgan can't help the small smile on his face as he peeks into the room, watching his ex be all domestic while she does his laundry. He climbs into his bed and quickly falls asleep.

After a couple hours of tidying and cleaning, Maggie checks in on Morgan. He's still sawing logs. She decides to make him some lunch for when he gets up, something easy to reheat; chili.

Maggie's busy with chopping up some vegetables, browning some meat, and stirring the pot on the stove when she feels a pair of hands on her hips. She smiles, not stopping her hands on the cutting board. "How'd you sleep?" She asks softly, leaning back against Morgan's chest. "You feelin' better?"

"I slept great." He responds, sitting at the opposite side of the counter. "You don't gotta do this, Gracie."

"I'm happy to." She smiles back, using the knife to slide the chopped veggies into the steaming pot alongside the meat. "After the week you've had, you need this."

He rolls his eyes. "I don't deserve you."

"Oh, I know." She teases, scrunching her nose up. "Here." She scoops some chili into a bowl before sliding it to him.

"Thank you." She nods back, giving his knee a squeeze. "So, how's Riley?"

She's quiet for a second. "He's fine, I think. In the last week, he's probably said five words to me."

"Wow. Why?" The way she keeps her head down gives him the answer. "Because of me?" She shrugs. "Mags..."

"He got pissed because I..." she takes a deep breath, "because I helped you."

"Shit." He says. "I'm so sorry- I shouldnt've called you- I shoulda just-" She grabs his jaw and kisses him, her heart pounding in her chest. He kisses her back, sliding his hands to the sides of her face. She breathes out a moan, pulling him to stand with her so she can be pressed against the counter. He grabs her thighs and lifts her up, shoving her down against the couch, kissing her sloppily. Morgan pulls her shirt off, throwing it behind him.

"Fuck-" She gasps, her hands on his shoulders while she's looking up at him. "God-" Maggie grabs the hem of his tee to pull it off of him, moaning out as he kisses her neck and chest. He pulls away. "W-What?"

"Are you sure about this?"

"Positive."
