"Mags?" Morgan knocks on her front door. She doesn't budge from her bed. He knocks again with no answer before he reaches into the light next to the door for the spare key. He unlocks the door and lets himself in. "Maggie May?"

"Fuck off." She mumbles, pulling her pillow over her head.

"Gracie?" He pokes his head into her bedroom. "Mags?"

She groans in response. "Go away."

He gently pulls the sheets away from her face. "Hey." He smiles softly. "You okay?"

"I'm great." She mumbles, tugging the sheets back over her head. "Leave me alone." Morgan shakes his head, kicks his shoes off then slides under the blankets with her. She huffs as he faces her, reaching up to push her hair out of her face. "Morgan..." her voice breaks. He just slides her pillow under her head and holds her close, rubbing her back. Mags is soon asleep, mentally exhausted from what's been happening recently.

Morgan talks Maggie into taking a shower while he washes her bedsheets and clothes. She comes out of the bathroom wrapped in her thin honeycomb robe, a light blue towel around her hair. Morgan chuckles when he sees a stray curl in her face. "How're you feeling?" He asks as he folds up a pair of jeans.

"Like a million bucks, baby." She winks, making her way to the kitchen. "Did you record the rest of them songs?"

"Yeah." He looks over at her as she leans against the door frame. "You give the deal any more thought?"

"Yeah, actually I did and I think I'm gonna go for it." She smiles behind her cup of coffee.

"Awesome! What changed your mind?"

She's quiet for several long seconds. "I-Uh- I'm no longer the future 'Mrs. Matt Stell'. That's what changed my mind." Morgan doesn't know what to say. "So, I'm gonna talk to Christian on Monday and then see what's next."

"Well, I'm proud of you." He smiles, shaking a t-shirt flat before folding it. "What happened between you and Matt?"

"I just told him that I didn't care what he thought and that I was gonna do it. He wasn't gonna stop me from spreadin' my wings." She clears her throat. "Since you're here, wanna help me with some songs?"

"Sure, yeah." He smiles at her, a pair of her panties in his hands. He looks down and jumps, throwing them back into the dryer.

"You big baby. You've touched my panties before- hell you've been in my panties."

"Ew, don't say that, Mags." He visibly shutters. "Gross."

"You think my panties are gross? Ouch."

"No- well- it's just- kinda." She chuckles as she reaches into the dryer to grab the pair of undies. She steps into them and pulls them on under her robe. Morgan blushes and looks away, his jeans tightening slightly when he realizes she's probably naked under that thin piece of fabric, he can see her nipples pressing against it. "Why don't you get dressed and I'll get things set up in your living room, okay?"

She's amused.

Maggie's hasn't seen him this flustered in a long time. The last time she did, they were sleeping together for the first time. They were both nervous; both virgins.

She smiles to herself as she heads back to her bedroom. She drops her robe and towel in the hallway before she steps foot in her closet. She decides on those ripped pair of jeans and a thin tank top with her oversized flannel. Mags bunches her hair into a bun then joins Morgan in the living room. "So, any ideas?" He asks, making himself comfortable with his arm on the back of couch and his legs spread.

"Yeah, I have some." She looks down at him. "We should go to a bar; that one on Tanner." He makes a confused face. "It's Saturday."

"Okay?"

"Just come on." She steps into her sandales, grabs her purse then pulls Morgan out to her car.

Maggie grins to herself as she sits at a table, Morgan by her side. "They have karaoke on Saturdays." She says, tracing the ring her glass left on the table. "Sing in me, O Muse."

"What is that? Shakespeare? Whatever. If I go up there, you're goin' with me." She snorts. "Really. I'll carry your ass up on that stage."

"It's from Homer's Odyssey and fine, I'll sing with you."

They're calling for people to sign up for slots and Morgan writes the both of them down for the next one. He grabs the blondes hand and pulls her to the bar so they can down a couple shots before she has to face her fears and perform in front of people. "What're we gonna sing?" She asks as she rubs his back, her now empty shot glass in her other hand.

"I dunno." He shrugs, his blue eyes trailing from the shot glass to her chest then up to her face. "You pick."

She gives him that look of hers with her bottom lip tucked between her teeth before sauntering to the stage. "Hi." She says to the guy sitting on the small set of steps. Mags gives him a flirty smile as she leans against a pillar that's sticking out of the wall.

"How're you doin' tonight?" He responds, looking up at her from his beer bottle.

"Real good. So, what kinda songs do you got?"

"The good kinds."

She giggles and shakes her head as she looks through the book. "K-71."

"You got it, baby." He winks. She smiles back before grabbing Morgan's hand, pulling him up on the stage. There's cheering when the light his Morgan; he's somewhat of celebrity in the bar. "We got Mags and Morgan singin' a classic for all y'all. It's Beer for my Horses by Toby Keith and Willie Nelson."

Maggie and Morgan share a look while they're each holding a drink and a mic. She's a little past tipsy while he's a little more sober. She starts the song, the lights they have on the stage hindering her from seeing the crowd. Morgan follows with Willie Nelson's part, his smile never leaving his face as they start singing the chorus together.

And man do they sound good together.

"Cause justice is the one thing you should always find. You gotta saddle up your boys, you gotta draw a hard line.

When the gun smoke settles we'll sing a victory tune and we'll all meet back at the local saloon.

We'll raise up our glasses against evil forces singing 'whiskey for my men, beer for my horses.' Singing 'whiskey for my men, beer for my horses'."

Morgan and Maggie cheers each other before chugging the rest of their drinks. They laugh as they wrap their arms around each other. She suddenly presses her lips to his, swaying on her feet.

The crowd applauds for them as they bounce off the dinky stage, Maggie's hand around Morgan's while they head outside. "Gimme your phone." He does as he's told. "Christian, hey! It's Maggie! I wanted to tell you that yes, I want to do that record thing if the offer is still on the table." She's quiet for a second before letting out a soft squeal with a big smile. "Thank you!" She ends the call then slides his phone back into his front pocket. "I got a deal. I'm gonna be signed to Big Loud!"

"That's amazing! Let's just get you home so you can-" Maggie grabs the front of his shirt and pulls him against her, pinning herself between him and his truck while she kisses him hotly. He pulls away and rolls his lips into his mouth before opening the passenger door for her. She slides in and gives him another smile. "Just get her home." He mutters to himself as he starts his truck up then heads back to her place.

The following Monday morning, Mags has herself cooped up in her lounge, her fingers cramping from fiddling around with chords on her guitar as she tries to finish up another song. She has yet to talk to Christian about her arrangement and she's totally stressed because of it. "How long have you been here?" Michael asks, using his elbow to shut the door behind him before he hands her a coffee. "It's not even eight."

"Been here since four. I couldn't sleep."

"I heard you sang at a bar this weekend."

"From who?"

"It's all over the internet." Her heart stops. "It's a good thing, okay? It's everywhere because Morgan's in the video." She runs her hand through her hair. "But people are goin' crazy for you."

"I'm taking the deal." She says, taking a long drink of the scalding liquid. "Chris is gonna talk to me 'bout it over lunch."

"What changed?"

She chews the inside of her cheek, looking down at the lipstick stain on her cup as she takes a deep breath. "Everything." Michael is really the only person she trusts whole-heartedly. He leans back into the couch, his arm on the back with his other holding his coffee cup. She tells him everything.

"Good for you, standin' up for yourself and all."

"Thanks. Times are weird, Michael." She sighs. "And now I have this whole thing with Morgan again and I don't know if-"

"Hey, Christian is ready for you in his office." Morgan says, a small smile on his lips.

"Okay." She shakily breathes out as she stands.

The three head down to his office together.

After her nearly three hour chat with her boss, Magnolia Grace is finally a signed musician. She's set to drop an album in a year or so and she's beyond excited.

She can't wait.

She's sitting with Morgan and Michael at a table at a bar, brain storming more song ideas. "Nerd." Michael teases from across the table.

"Huh?" She asks as she looks up, pushing her glasses up her nose. "What?"

"Nerd." He says louder with a playfully grin.

"Nerd- my glasses?" He responds with a laugh. "You're one to talk!" Morgan snickers under his breath, keeping his eyes down as his laughs turn harder. "Shut up! One of my contacts fell out at work and I gotta wear 'em."

"Well, I think you look real pretty, Maggie May." Morgan bites back a giggle.

"Oh shut up." She rolls her eyes. "I need a drink." She drums her hands against the table before heading to the bar. "Excuse me, Mister Barkeep. One of your finest Screwdrivers, please."

The bartender turns. "Hey, you sang here the other night, right?"

"Uh, yep. That was me." She smiles, looking down at her glass.

"You from around here?"

"Yeah, the mountain side."

"What're you doin this Friday?"

"Oh, I got work." She says awkwardly, really wishing she kept the engagement ring from Matt. That usually kept guys from hitting on her.

Morgan glances over at her and sees her shaking her leg on the tip of her shoe. She does what when she's feeling uncomfortable, every time without fail. He silently heads over to her. "Oh, babe. There you are." He gives her a kiss on the cheek. "Startin' to worry 'bout you."

"Sorry, I got caught up talkin' to..." her eyes zero in on the name stitched into the bartenders shirt. "Desmond." She bites her lip to keep a laugh in. "Well, thank you, Desmond. Enjoy your evenin'." She grabs Morgan's hand and leads him back to the table. "Thanks." She mumbles to Morgan, leaning into the hand he slides to the small of her back.

The trio stays at the bar until last call, hanging out as friends instead of coworkers; they spend hours talking and laughing. Michael learns a little more about their teenage years relationship and things start to make sense for him. He sits back and watches the two start to get along; click with each other again.

He's both excited and nervous about the rekindled flame he sees between them.
