The rest of Lacey's week went well. She had fallen into a routine of work and normally grabbing a casual dinner with Harper and Lainey. She had been talking to Blake pretty much everyday and had plans for another date Friday night. Friday came and went and Lacey couldn't wait for her date. Lainey had texted her earlier and asked if she wanted to go out and as much as she wanted to go, she didn't want to cancel on Blake. As soon as the clock turned 5, she left her office and headed towards the front door. Talking to Miss Jean, by the front desk was Morgan. He was leaned across the desk flirting with the old woman which she had noticed he liked to do. He just liked to make her blush.

"Ya goin out tonight?" he asked, turning around to face Lacey as she walked past him

"No I already made plans before I knew everybody was goin' out"

"Ah well, ya know you should start goin out with all of us more. There's a lot of artists normally, its a good way to make connections"

"Really? Maybe i'll go next time" suddenly remembering she is supposed to hate him she said "Ya know I'm doing pretty good without help. Im working on that song with Hardy and Luke Combs reached out, even Mr.Wiseman said he liked my material" she snapped, getting defensive for no reason. She knew he was just trying to help.

"I'm not saying you aren't, just being nice" He said seemingly unfazed by her attitude. Looking at her with a smile he says "I'm proud of ya Lace, really"

Shocked by the sudden act of kindness she stood there for a second before she squeezed out "Uh.. Thank you"

Morgan simply smiled and walked off, leaving her there, slightly confused.

She guessed that he was trying to squeeze his way back into her life through being nice. But, she wasn't just going to forget the past. She remembered the nights of crying for hours while Addie just held her. He would never get the opportunity to break her heart again. She decided to focus on Blake instead. They were meeting at her apartment at 7 and had plans to go the Palm, a fancy restaurant downtown. This date was much less casual than their first one. She put on a blue cocktail dress, black heels and curled her hair. By the time she did all that, the doorbell rang.

"Hey bab- Morgan?"

She looked up, surprised to see him and not Blake. Morgan took a second looking at Lacey before responding

"Hey, uh, you left your songbook at the office. Just thought I should drop it off. Probably shoulda texted before I just showed up like this"

"Oh, thank you, I woulda missed this" She loved that thing. It was made of leather and was worn from years of use. Some of her first songs were written in there. Morgan had bought it for her for her 15th birthday.

"You look nice, where ya goin?"

"Me and Blake are goin out"

Almost as if on cue Blake walked up.

"Uh hey"

"Hey Blake! Morgan was just dropping off something I left at work" Lacey said, slightly flustered.

"Oh hey Morgan, I'm Blake I don't think we've really met, you were at the bar that night right?"

"Yea I was. Don't really remember much from that night" Morgan said laughing

"Well I better get goin', Olivia is out in the car"

"What are y'all doing tonight?" asked Blake

"Just headed downtown"

"Hey! Y'all should come eat with us!" Said Blake "I'd love to get to know some of Laceys co-workers and she said y'all used to know each other"

"Blake, I'm sure they wouldn't wa-"

"Oh I'd love to" said Morgan, with a mischievous smile, while keeping eye contact with Lacey "Gotta make sure your good enough for Lace here" he said while shifting his gaze back to Blake.

"Great! I'll call and change our reservation to four" Blake walked further down the hall, leaving Lacey and Morgan alone.

"What are you up to Morgan"

"Awe come on, I can't just want to get to know your new boyfriend" he said in a devious tone that she recognized so well.

"I know you better than that Morgan and you know it"

"Well then, I guess you'll just have to find out"

"Ok, they said that was no problem!" said Blake, walking back towards Lacey and Morgan

"This is gonna be a fun night" said Morgan, again with that mischevious grin of his...
