《Bringing the Nation's Husband Home II》XVIII | Lover

The next day, Isabelle and Alexander had to go back to filming. It was the last stretch, hence she had brought about a lot of things. When Madam Mary saw that she had packed several bags, she helped to put everything into a large luggage.
When Camila arrived at York Garden to fetch Isabelle, Alexander was carrying the luggage down the stairs out to the car.
Isabelle opened the car door. She didn't enter the car yet but turned to bid Madam Mary farewell, then turned to Alexander and reminded him to take his medicine. Just after two sentences, his assistant came, and she repeated everything she had said to Alexander to him as well.
The assistant listened attentively, continually assuring her, "Don't worry Miss Davis, I understand."
Isabelle continued to nag on for a time more, When she finally finished, she lowered herself and entered the car. Before she left, she reached out of the window to wave them goodbye.
"Alluring Times" was rushing to air during the winter holiday. In order to ensure that the later promotions had sufficient time, they had to complete the entire series within twenty days. The filming schedule was packed and almost all the actors were required to remain on standby every night. There was barely any rest time.
Even Alexander, who would return to Global Entertainment during breaks, stayed in everyday. Often enough, he would be going through his documents in the lounge with a face covered by makeup. Isabelle had even seen him having conference meetings with the board through his laptop.
Other than sleep, Alexander was either at the cafeteria or at the set. In order to avoid suspicion and unwanted rumors, he and Isabelle didn't interact much, but since they were both in the same filming set and were a couple in the drama, they would still chat occasionally, just not as intimately as back at home.
Even so, Isabelle would often sense his care and concern. When they were filming an outdoor scene, the temperature would drop, and Alexander's assistant would bring a shawl over or send her a hot tea or hot milk. These were minor details, but it was enough to warm her heart and send butterflies fluttering in her stomach. She would look towards him unconsciously, and occasionally, their gazes would collide, and through the boisterous and busy crowd, they would share a rare intimate moment.
Isabelle's heart would beat rapidly. She didn't posses the same will power as Alexander and would avert her gaze nervously to talk to Camila, pretending that nothing had happened. Sometimes, when she couldn't hide her nervousness, she would laugh chidingly at Alexander. Even though he would still have the same nonchalant expression, his lips would curl up into a faint smile, and every single time it happened, it sent a rush of heat to her face.
The busy days flew by. In the blink of an eye, they were down to the final scenes of the drama.
But before shooting those last few scenes, "Alluring Times" organized a promo conference.
The location of the promo conference was in a World class hotel. It was booked for the afternoon, and all of the famous media outlets were invited.
All of the main cast members would have to be there. Since everyone was at the set, before attending the conference, they were all at the set's makeup studio to get ready.

Alexander had something to deal with at work, so he was on the phone whilst in makeup. The stars who were going to attend the conference were already prepared. When everyone spotted him, they all politely greeted him with "Mr. Smith".
Alexander wore no emotions on his face when nodded at them. Every now and then, he would say a few words into the phone and then casually walk over to his own makeup chair.
Alexander's chair was back-to-back with Isabelle's makeup chair. When he sat down, he could see her through his mirror. As he was on the phone, he also paid attention to her. Perhaps the air conditioner was too high, for she was a little cold. Just as the makeup artist was looking for the powder puff, she raised her arm and rubbed the exposed part of it, and shivered.
Alexander furrowed his brow at the thought of the doctor's orders for Isabelle not to get a cold during the first month after surgery at all costs. Then, he said "Sorry" into the phone in a low voice and hung up. He turned to the assistant behind him and asked, a little annoyed, "What's going on? Does the ac need to be so high?"
The assistant looked at Alexander in his full suit with a strangled look. Having just come in from outdoors, the tip of his nose had a slight layer of sweat, so he couldn't help but feel a little suspicious. Yet his words were honest when he spoke. "I'll go find the remote control and turn the heat up."
Alexander didn't make a sound. When the assistant turned to walk away, he suddenly said, "Just turn it off completely."
Isabelle, who sat behind Alexander, clearly heard what he said to his assistant. Through the mirror, she also saw them both come in from outdoors with sweat on their faces. Her heart slightly trembled for a moment.
Not long after she sat down to do her makeup, she felt that the air conditioner was a little too much, but it was the scorching summer and other stars were probably really hot. If she found the remote and turned up the heat, it would definitely annoy them. She thought it'd be better if she avoided that kind of drama, and so she hoped to get her makeup done early and quickly get out. In the end, Alexander, who had sat there for just half a minute, suddenly hung up the phone and got someone to turn the air conditioner off.
Before, there were some things she probably wouldn't have imagined, and wouldn't dared to have imagined to be true. But now, she was absolutely sure that Alexander had turned the air conditioner off for her.
In that instant, an indescribable feeling of happiness crept into her heart. The corner of her lips couldn't help but curve upwards.
When Isabelle finished doing her makeup, she turned around to find Alexander, who had also finished up, standing there while his stylist fixed his tie.
Alexander's stylist wasn't a short man, but standing next to him, Alexander seemed to dominate. When he fixed the tie, the man was slightly tip-toeing.
Isabelle saw that there, on Alexander's tie, was the tie clip she had gifted him. Her line of sight couldn't help but stop there for a while. As she lifted her head up, her eyes met Alexander's eyes.

A glimmer twinkled in her pitch-black pupils, and she winked at Alexander. Then her lips curved into a bright smile that showed her teeth, and she brushed past him and out of the makeup room.
There were a total of seven cars on the way to the conference. Helen and Jake were in one car, Isabelle and Alexander in another, and the leftover cast members in two more. The director was in one, the producer in another, and lastly, the other staff members were in the final one.
Even though the conference was for the media, there were some of Alexander, Helen and Jake's fans who got word of it. They arrived early to surround the hotel's entrance.
Jake and Helen were the first to get off the car. The security staff stopped the fans, as they risked everything to stretch their arms, screaming their favorite celebrity's name.
Helen held onto Jake's arm, as they faced both sides of fans with friendly smiles and nods. While treading down the red carpet to the hotel, Helen waved towards the screaming fans, which made them scream louder.
Alexander and Isabelle's were next to arrive at the hotel entrance. Alexander's assistant had worked with him for many years now, and was long known by the fans. From the moment the assistant's car arrived, words like "Alexander", "Alexander I love you" started being shouted out.
The assistant opened the passenger side door. Alexander bent over, but before he even got out, the screams had turned to ear-piercing cries.
Isabelle had seen Alexander's fans go crazy like that on television before, but now that she was in the middle of it, nerves suddenly came over her.
She tried her best to remain calm, as she held onto Alexander's arm. They walked into the first-floor hall of the hotel, and the fans behind them slowly disappeared. Only then did she secretly let out a sigh of relief. She turned to glance over at Alexander, who seemed particularly composed.
The conference was held on the third floor of the hotel. The service staff escorted Alexander and Isabelle up the elevators and into the hall, where they were greeted by the flashing lights of the media.
Isabelle and Alexander first stood in front of the "Alluring Times" promo poster that spanned the entire wall. They posed at various angles for the media to take photos, then the two of them got up on stage and sat at their assigned seats.
Soon after, the director and other stars arrived. When everyone had finished taking photographs, they got to their positions, and the host, who stood at the side of the stage, said into the microphone, "Please be quiet."
The host repeated these three times until it was completely silent, though the bright lights continued to flash.
The host then continued by saying, "We're delighted to welcome the media and friends who are present today for the promo conference for 'Alluring Times'. First off, I must give a warm welcome and introduce to everyone, the director and each and every actor attending our conference today."
Then, the host called out the director, Alexander, Helen, Jake, Isabelle, and others' names.
After the host's introductions, everybody stood up in order, one after the other. They greeted the media below the stage and paid their respects.
Next, it was time for the host and the director's interaction. The host asked him a few questions about "Alluring Times". Having attended many conferences like this, the director was particularly skillful with his answers. He emphasized the tv series' strongest points for everyone, and then chucked a few enticing thoughts to build suspense.
Then the host interacted with the cast with questions also about "Alluring Times", such as questions about their characters, their personalities, who they were partnered up with, and their brief thoughts on their characters.
Of all the actors present today, besides Isabelle, they'd filmed many other movies, so they were very natural and relaxed, as though they were talking with friends during their interview.
Isabelle was a little nervous, but before the conference, she was told how to skillfully answer the questions, so as to not make any careless mistakes.
~*~
The conference ended promptly at six o'clock. After the actors signed their "Alluring Times" poster and posed for photos for the media, the two main couples Helen and Jake, Alexander and Isabelle were separated into two different rooms for interviews. The other actors and the director stayed at the conference to answer questions from other media outlets who didn't have interview opportunities.
Isabelle and Alexander were arranged to be interviewed in the hotel's penthouse suite. When the two of them reached it, the interviewer in charge hadn't arrived yet.
The room was specifically decorated with three European armchairs, a round glass table, and in front hung a poster of "Alluring Times" with Alexander and Isabelle on it. There were some fruit, a bottle of red wine, and three bottles of mineral water on the round table.
The service staff that escorted Alexander and Isabelle in, gave them three tall glasses of red wine, then left the suite.
The two of them were left in the suite alone. Isabelle, who had stiffened up to keep up her composure, completely relaxed at that moment. As though she'd lost her bones, her body sat limp on the sofa. Her head casually tilted, and coincidentally, she glanced over at the tie clip on Alexander's chest that she had gifted him.
Alexander stood not too far away from the floor-to-ceiling windows. The orange, setting sun shone through the glass and landed on his chest, reflecting a piercingly bright light from the small diamonds on the tie clip.
Isabelle quietly looked at it for a few seconds, before moving her eyes away. That was when she noticed Alexander looking unwaveringly at her. With the shining light of the setting sun on him, a layer of gold enveloped his body, making him look completely majestic. Isabelle only sneaked a glance, but that was enough to make her breathing go unsteady. She hurriedly lowered her eyes, to avoid his line of sight.

Praised as heroes by the people, they rejoiced that they had been able to acquire pure, mana deficient humans that wanted to aid them in their time of need, ignoring the black, archaic slave collars around their necks or the depressed, almost hate-filled expressions that they received when interacting with them. After Ten years of bloody war, the dark races were pushed back deep into their territories. Both sides were near breaking point and desperate to end the war once and for all. In a bargain, the twelve surviving heroes launched a high-risk mission, utilising advanced tactics from their home world to kill the Demon Lord. In exchange, they would be sent home, along with the magically preserved corpses of their comrades, though in truth, they knew that even if they returned, they would never be the same. Trapped in the Demon Lord's throne room inside the Demonic Palace, which even taking a single step on its desecrated grounds is punished by death, two figures remain motionless. They had long run out of insults and threats to trade and now they waited. For what, not even the Gods knew.

Wrongfully His
#2 in Werewolf 12/05/18 Mated to a Beta and marked by his Alpha. A unique twist on the clichéd possessive Alpha stories."W-what are you doing?" I stuttered helplessly as he stepped closer so I couldn't get away since all that was around was two brick walls that were closing me in. Slowly he stepped closer, each second feeling like minutes. He let out a guttural chuckle that left my entire being trembling. "Paying Carter back" he whispered huskily cocking his head sideways causing me to gulp as his gigantic arms gripped my hips roughly. Forcefully he shifted my body up against the wall, closing the small gap in between us. Ramming his lower half into mine, he allowed every groove of his body to mesh with mine. With no thought his lips attacked my neck as I beat on his chest with all my power hoping and praying to remove him."Leave me alone!" I cried but he didn't listen. His tongue grazed my flesh expertly and in any other case I would have melted under his touch. Inhaling sharply he held me tightly, savoring the moment. Suddenly Nate pulled back slightly and just when I thought he was going to back off he did the unexpected. He opened his mouth revealing his large canine teeth. "No" I pleaded, wounding my fists in his shirt as I pushed against him. Slowly his tongue glided over them, flickering off when he hit the ends. Within a milisecond his teeth plunged deep into my flesh making me let out an ear piercing scream though no one came to my rescue. My wolf was cowering in fear of the demon man that was over powering us with each second that past. "Please" I begged weakly though he ignored me only to grip my sides harder ignoring the pitiful whimpers escaping my lips.My neck felt like it was on fire as his wolf controlled mine with little care. My knees began to shake at a rapid pace though he held me up as he continued dominating me. I grew dizzy and within seconds everything went black.
