《Nothing Lasts Forever》Epilogue 2.0

Wow! I cannot believe that it has been a year since Hunter proposed to me in front of everyone at our private movie premiere.

Of course when we checked our cellphones the next day we found out that someone had leaked this information to the press, therefore causing the paparazzi to practically stalk Hunter and I for that week.

Most of them eventually let up when they finally came to the realization that neither Hunter nor I were going to reveal anything to them regarding the status of our relationship.

After our movie premiered to the public the paparazzi began hounding us once again.

This time however it wasn't only paparazzi but television hosts, radio stations, talk shows and podcast hosts were requesting our presence.

Although all of these various outlets were requesting our attendance at the end out the day they were all asking the same question...

'Are all of the rumors true? Are you really engaged to McKenna King?'

It inevitably became so bad that I had to stop wearing my engagement ring in public which completely broke my heart.

I know that you may be thinking 'why don't you confirm the rumors'?

If I confirm that Hunter and I are engaged then they will poke and pry at our relationship with a set of tweezers in hopes of dooming it.

You see, people love to build people up until one day they just switch and turn on you, deciding to tear down the very person they helped get to where they are.

When Hunter and I were originally rumored to be dating I began to become flooded with nice comments and messages from people who claimed that they support Hunter and I dating.

When the screen recording of Hunter and I kissing on her livestream leaked a portion of those same people began discouraging our relationship and saying that both Hunter and I could 'do better' which was usually followed by something extremely insensitive.

The bottom line is that some people do not know when to just let two people be happy.

This especially pertains when the aforementioned two people are in a relationship with one another and a person outside of the relationship feels like they have the right to say what should or should not be happening in said relationship, a relationship that they are not apart of.

With just Hunter, me and a small group of people being aware of our engagement status it eliminates all of the people who feel like they deserve the right to know about said relationship due to us being the ones who choose who gets to know.

Hunter and I agreed that this idea was the best option.

Anyways, not long after our movie premiered our emails were constantly full because of our manager emailing us about directors who want to work with us.

Some directors wanted both Hunter and I to star in their movies which I declined to do because it would seem odd to have two completely different projects that Hunter and I are starring in that have no correlation with the original project at hand.

A few other directors wanted me to star in their movie but have Hunter guest star in it.

I declined to these offers as well because it is basically the same as the first option.

While scrolling through all of these offers I eventually found a movie pitch that I really liked. It is about a high school girl who moves to a small town and tries to navigate her way through hardships, friendships, fake friends and relationships.

I immediately emailed my manager my interest in this movie which resulted in me being sent the script three days later with the note of filming beginning in the next three months.

While it took me awhile to find a movie offer that I liked enough Hunter had no trouble with this.

Yeah, she declined similar pitches that I did but she accepted most of the ones that she was offered.

This past year she has been so busy with movie and tv shows that I have barely seen her for more than ten minutes per week.

During these ten minutes we will sit on my bed and catch each other up on what is happening or what has happened in our lives.

We did this as a way to keep ourselves grounded while also spending the small amount of free time that we had with each other.

Unfortunately, this time got shortened to five minutes when I did begin filming for the movie that I was starring in. This was only when one of us either came home and the other one was awake or if the two of us woke up around the same time.

Hunter was in so many projects in fact that she was nominated for multiple awards.

Not surprisingly, she won more than half of them.

She tried to bring me as a plus one to a lot of the award shows but I declined as I wanted all of the attention to be on her and not our relationship.

It was just three days ago when Hunter and I had a much needed date night and somehow came to the conclusion that the both of our projects are ending on the same day, that day being today.

Without much persuasion we decided that we would officially get married on this day.

With this newfound determination in mind I called Gigi and told her that when our current projects end Hunter and I would be taking two weeks off of work for our honeymoon.

Overjoyed by the news, she offered to help us with the guest list and intricate details.

I accepted.

"I can't believe that you actually rented out an entire rose garden" I cannot help but gasp as I glance around the venue with awe

Hunter appears to be equally as surprised as I am as her eyes jump from flower bush to flower bush.

"Yeah, they were happy to...their only request was that you take a picture in here before you leave, post the photo online and tag them in it"

I nod.

That shouldn't be too difficult.

As we enter the rose garden we walk underneath multiple arches that are covered in greenery and various kinds of flowers.

The further we walk into the area I notice that the middle of the greenery lined maze garden is filled with multiple small circular tables.

Each table is painted white with four chairs surrounding it.

I smile at this.

This place is the literal definition of perfect!

I glance over to Hunter so that I can get her opinion on the subject only to notice her already looking at me.

I silently raise an eyebrow at her.

The raven haired girl smiles at me, her brown eyes appearing a hazel color in the bright sun.

She silently nods, confirming that she likes the makeshift venue as well.

I am unable to hide my excitement at her agreement.

Before I am able to even think about I lift my arms up and wrap them around her neck.

Due to my forearms resting against the back of her neck I use this advantage to pull her down towards me, inevitably connecting our lips when her face stops a few inches away from mine.

I only place a peck or two upon her lips because I do not want to accidentally make Gigi feel uncomfortable.

After pecking Hunter's lips once more I detach myself from her body and turn to face our manager.

"We like the location" I smile as I turn to face Gigi

Gigi nods at this, writing something down on the paper attached to her clipboard.

"Amazing! Now that the location is out of the way we need to figure out the decorations, theme, outfits and the marriage officiant" she lists off of the paper"

I nod my head.

Maybe we should have given ourselves longer than twelve hours to do a wedding...

-

"Wow! I can't believe that we actually planned a wedding in twelve hours" I hear Hunter sigh with satisfaction

The two of us cannot help but admire our work inside of the beautiful flower maze.

Unfortunately we do not have very much time to admire said work before we are interrupted our manager.

"What are you two doing out here?! You're supposed to be getting ready! Hurry! Guests are beginning to arrive!" She practically pushes us towards the car that is supposedly supposed to take us to a hotel to get ready

I just do as Gigi says, not wishing to stress her out furthermore.

-

I hold the bouquet of fake white roses in front of my stomach as I stare at Hunter who stands multiple feet away from me next to the officiant.

Our smiles match each other as we just stare at each other.

Even from all of the way back here I can see the loving look in her eyes, the same eyes that I fell in love with many years ago.

When I first met her.

When I first talked to her on that powdered milk commercial set.

When I first saw those hypnotic orbs at the snack table.

Wow...

I am so happy that I am marrying this woman.

Hunter is stood in a matching outfit that consists of a blank white romper that has short sleeves as well as white high top converse.

Since it is still warm outside, her long black tresses are tied up in a high ponytail.

Matching with the white theme, I am wearing a flowy white summer dress with a pair of white wedges.

My curled brown hair is simply tucked behind my ears, flowing down my back.

I begin to slowly walk down the grassy 'aisle', unintentionally stepping on a few of the white rose petals.

Hunter and I's eyes stay connected to each other's until I reach the small podium where I look down at the steps so that I do not accidentally trip and fall on my face.

The officiant waits until I am stood about a foot in front of Hunter to begin speaking, Hunter gently taking my hands in hers.

"Good afternoon!" He greets.

"We are here today to join both Hunter McKenna King and Delaney Park Carson in holy matrimony."

-

"Do you, Hunter King, take Delaney Carson to be your lawfully wedded wife?" The officiant asks.

The corner of Hunter's lip curls upward as she smirks at the officiant's question.

"Yes" she answers.

My own smile widens at her answer and my heart stirs in my chest.

"And do you, Delaney Carson, take Hunter King to be your lawfully wedded wife?"

"I do" I nod my head.

"With the power vested in me, I now pronounce you two wife and wife,"

"You may kiss kiss the bride." He permits.

Hunter and I each take a step forward before connecting our lips.

My heart skips a beat in chest.

The small crowd of our close friends cheer for us.

I pull away from my wife with a large smile on my face.

Whoa!

She's my wife now...

I'm a wife now.

"I love you." She whispers against my lips.

"I love you more." I reply back, a soft laugh falling past my lips.

The two of us danced the night away before packing our bags and getting on a private plane later that night.

Hunter and I debated about either going to Maui for our honeymoon or going to Bora Bora.

We debated this for around an hour before eventually deciding on Maui, having never been anywhere near Hawaii before.

I can't wait!
